This is the ultimate Brewing guide for Minecraft 1.20 and I will be covering all of the different potion recipes as well as all of the different potion types alright before we get into the brewing recipes let’s go over some of the standard things you’re going to need in order to actually brew potions Firstly you’re going to need a ton of water bottles water bottles are required for every single potion and you have the option of using one two or three water bottles and you should always always use three water bottles that way you get the most potions out of your materials Because if you used to it’s going to use the same amount of materials but you’re gonna get one less potion so always use three water bottles you’re also going to need blaze powder for every single Brewing recipe because it is the fuel for the brewing stand so without blaze Powder the brewing stand will do absolutely nothing now netherwar is one of the weird ones because it is required in every single Brewing recipe except for potions of weakness that is the only exception other than that you need netherwort so I highly recommend creating a netherwart farm and just Having a ton of this stuff laying around gunpowder will turn any potion into a splash potion meaning that instead of drinking the potion you can throw it and wherever the potion breaks is where the effect is going to go off and the closer you are to where the potion breaks the Stronger the effects will be now very similar to splash potions if you add dragon’s breath to a splash potion it will create a lingering potion and what that does is it’s very Slimmer to a splash potion as in you throw it and the difference between that is that it Lingers there as the name implies meaning that the effect will last in that area for maybe 30 seconds or however long the duration is in the last two item items can’t be added to every potion however they can be added to most so firstly Redstone Dust is going to Make the effects of the potion last longer so let’s say that the potion usually lasts 3 minutes Redstone might make it last 8 minutes whereas glowstone is actually going to reduce the time that the potion lasts so if it lasted three minutes it might only last a Minute and a half however the effects are usually doubled or whatever it seems to be with the potion for the sake of this guide my mental health your mental health and my voice I’m not going to list every item needed they will be in the barrel and you can pause the video And see what you need you don’t need to hear me say water bottle 16 times alright starting things off with the potion of swiftness I personally think that Speed 2 is the way to go here it lasts half as long but you get double the speed effect and because speed is so Cheap to make it just makes more sense to use speed 2. with fire resistance there really isn’t any way else to go other than the Redstone Dust it doesn’t make sense to not use it because I mean you get an extra five minutes for one piece of redstone dust this is going to Be a common trend for anything like this where it’s fire resistance and visibility or night vision water breathing all those types of potions it really just makes sense to have it last longer so then you’re using less potion now leaping is an interesting one because it really is up to you which you Preferred you want jump boost one that lasts eight minutes or do you want jump boost two so you can jump higher but it only lasts a minute and a half I don’t really use jump boost so this one is up to you it is quite expensive because you Need a rabbit’s foot so you would need a rabbit farm which is pretty uncommon but again it really is up to you I don’t have a preference here invisibility is pretty much the same deal as fire resistance it just just use Redstone it lasts longer it doesn’t make sense not To all right next up is poison I would never recommend drinking poison but obviously you’re gonna use this as a splash potion in my opinion I would always use poison too because it has a higher time to kill but if you want to be annoying then just go right ahead and Make just a longer poison effect regeneration is pretty much the exact same deal I would much rather have regeneration too so that I heal a lot quicker and I can just drink more regen potions gas tears aren’t that hard to come by just go in the nether for like 30 minutes and you can get quite a few now strength is again up to you but I do have my preference I personally think that Strength 2 makes a lot more sense especially in a PVP scenario however if you’re out going to hunt like wither skeletons then I would say that strength One is better just because you don’t want to fill your inventory with potions but again blaze powder not that hard to come by strength two you get plus three attack damage it makes a lot more sense to have strength too especially in a PVP setting weakness doesn’t really matter There’s only one version and that’s with redstone dust so I mean use it if you’re using it on a player I personally never use weakness I only use it to cure villagers so if you’re just using it to cure villagers there really is no reason to use it the potion of Decay literally Doesn’t even have a redstone or glowstone effects so it’s just standard wither too I don’t know why they don’t have wither one it’s pretty weird but again never drink this use as a splash potion and yeah just use it on your enemies I mean it’s a pretty good potion The Wither effect is really annoying alright the turtle Master one is interesting because you can have it so that you get slowness six which I think is absolutely hilarious and for that reason I’m a glowstone guy on this one I love having slowness 6 and resistance four you’re pretty much Untouchable with Resistance floor so I mean if you’re ever in a tricky situation throw down a turtle Master potion and then like instant health and regen and it works every time potion of slow falling exact same scenario there’s only a redstone boost if you need it use it if not then I mean it doesn’t really matter a minute and a half should be more than enough to get you down from a tricky situation but if you want to just float around I think four minutes is perfectly fine it only uses one Redstone night vision exact same scenario as fire resistance and Invisibility use the Redstone you save so many resources and it lasts an extra five minutes harming once again very similar to poison do not use this on yourself there are two different recipes this time which is cool and again no Redstone effect you can only use Glowstone so I mean why not it does more damage and actually they do quite a lot of damage if I’m not mistaken I think like it does eight hearts I might be mistaken on that one all right potion of healing very similar use this one on Yourself but in this case always use the glowstone instant Health 2 is so much better than instant health and it’s glowstone dust it’s really cheap going to the nether find some water breathing exact same deal you should always use Redstone there’s no reason not to 8 minutes versus three minutes you save a Puffer fish it’s just the way to go and finally slowness this is our last one again two different recipes it can be derived from a speed potion or a jump boost potion and in this my opinion I mean I would probably use slowness 4 on them so that way it’s a splash potion You splash the anime with slowness 4 and then you can run away and make your Escape now minus 60 speed is incredible especially if you have speed two alright that is every single potion if you want to download this world the download will be on my Discord so go and download that One um if you guys enjoyed this guide it’s pretty new to me to make guides
