Withers have the best loot drop of any mob in minecraft nether stars the critical ingredient of beacons but it is difficult to beat or even summon this mob so i’ll explain everything about it and how to easily defeat the wither boss in this guide the weather doesn’t spawn

It is summoned in and so to get the wither you need to find the ingredients for it and the first ingredient is wither skeleton skulls dropped from wither skeletons now these wither skeletons are only in one place and that’s another fortress and they spawn in groups of four in light levels zero

To eleven now the entire nether is almost always going to be at light level zero unless let’s say you put some torches down or maybe some fire you may want to remove those torches so that you have a higher chance of getting withers in that area you want to go to another

Fortress that’s located in the soul sand valley that’s because there’s a lot less mobs that spawn in this bio normally and so your chance of getting other nether fortress mobs like let’s say the zombified piglens or blazes or the wither skeletons is much higher now although the item you want to get from

The wither skeleton is the wither skeleton skull it is much more likely it’ll only drop you coal and bones and also really rarely at stone sword the reason for that is the chances of these items it’s actually really common for them to drop the bones and the coal when

You hit them and if you have looting three it’s almost 100 percent chance every time you kill one you’ll get at least one bone and one piece of coal but the skull chance itself is very rare it’s only 2.5 percent if you’re not killing them with looting that means

That unfortunately you would have to kill an average of 40 wither skeletons to get even one wither skeleton skull however with looting those numbers change in java edition the chances increased by one percent per level of looting for a max of a three percent bonus so that would be 5.5 percent

Chance total to get a wither skeleton skull from a wither however in bedrock it’s somewhat easier to get the wither skeleton skulls with a two percent raise per level of looting which means you get as high as an 8.5 chance of a wither skeleton skull if you have a looting 3

Sword and so ideally you’d want to get the highest level of looting possible before you even attempt to get these because on average without a looting sword you’d have to kill at least 120 wither skeletons to get enough of the wither skeleton skulls so that you could

Tricks that you can try to deal with these the first one is to remember the fact that the wither skeleton functions very much like the enderman in the fact that it is about three blocks tall it’s not actually three blocks tall but it’s tall enough that it cannot fit under any

Space unless it is three blocks high so for instance right here the wither skeleton can simply not go through this space and we can easily kill it and for instance we could go over here maybe lure over these with their skeletons and then we could walk over here to the area

That we have made safe with this little bit of let’s say the warped planks here it could even be dirt or netherrack or whatever you want and then we can safely hit those with their skeletons without any worries of course that wouldn’t work against let’s say something like the

Blaze and that’s why i would suggest something like maybe the warped planks or even dirt that would not be burning but overall that can help also if you are hit by the wither effect from the wither skeleton drinking a bucket of milk will remove that status effect which of course can

Be quite useful just be aware that’ll remove all your other status effects so if you’re fighting a bunch of these with maybe a strength potion that’s probably not the best idea and of course having looting on your sword is important so you have the highest chance of schools

As well as if you can get the knock back enchantment that’s also something of great benefit because as with all mobs you can get it further away from you enabling it not to be able to hit you and so with let’s say something like the wither skeleton where it cannot hit you

With any of its attacks unless it’s very close you could avoid getting that wither damage especially if you’re hitting it with let’s say a bow which could also be a really good weapon to try although of course the looting effect wouldn’t apply so you want to be

Careful with that alright so you’ve got some skulls from the wither skeletons you’ll need three of them per wither there’s also something else we need to summon in the wither and that is four pieces of either sole sand or sole soil it doesn’t matter which it’s up to you

Of course although soul sand is less rare and you can find soul sand frequently all across another but soul soil and a large abundance of soul sand are only found in the soul sand valley so to summon in the wither we want to place down four pieces of the soul sand

Or soul soil in this sort of short t shape then we want to place down the three wither skeleton skulls on top like this and you might have noticed something that did not summon in the wither and the reason for that is quite simple we are currently in peaceful mode and so

Something important to know is that you cannot summon the wither in that version now what is really cool about that is that you could build the wither pattern and then change your game mode back to what you normally play on so let’s say maybe normal or hard or easy whatever

You play on and you could keep that pattern there but of course now that we are in hard placing that last school will summon in the wither but let’s say we make the pattern incorrectly like there’s the correct part but we have another incorrect part on there and

Let’s say we place that last school down it’ll also not build it and we could break that block and then we can also have this illusion of having the correct shape but it not summoning in now location is the only thing that really matters when summoning in the wither and

I’ll go through all those methods as well as a trick to infinitely kill the weather with no effort in java addition but also how to kill the wither with no effort in bedrock edition as of course the weather is much more difficult on there alright so i’m going to start by

Showing the method of fighting the wither underground ideally you could do this in your strip mine this does work in bedrock or java edition although of course all these methods are going to be more effective in java edition just because the java wither is easier of

Course like i said i will be showing a really great method for bedrock addition later on and so we simply just need to mine it enough space for this to work and this should be enough a three by five by three space we’re going to place

Down the wither and then we’re going to finish up the wither with these skulls and there you can see it is now its initial blast would definitely kill you if you’re near it when it explodes you want to get somewhat further away i would suggest drinking a potion of

Strength and a potion of regeneration personally i like the strength too and i like the regeneration that’s elongated as it gives you just enough time you’ll also want a good sword ideally smite and some golden carrots or some other really great food now if you notice the wither

Can’t really see us as we’re hitting its tail and because we have the strength effect it’s actually incredibly easy to kill it but as you see here i still have about a minute of the strength and regeneration effects and so you could still use this method somewhat effectively and although of course the

Wither does break a lot more blocks in bedrock edition because of how many blocks are underground especially at the strip mining level so let’s say maybe negative 57 58 then it definitely should not burst into any caves or anything like that if you have no caves near

Where you summoned it in even if you’re right beneath your base although of course i would suggest killing this as far away as possible so now we have our nether star and let’s go on to the next method now for the next method which is basically not having a method this is

Sort of the way that i would assume mojing would like us to make the wither although i really don’t know and that is just basically anywhere to see what happens and so we’re going to summon this in in this peaceful plains biome next to a village and see if we can

Defeat it some extra things you will need to do if you’re doing this sort of authentic wither fight experience is you’ll need all three potions you made from each batch with that regeneration and also the strength too and you’ll also want a bow with power five and at

Least two stacks of arrows so we’re going to summon this in and as with last time we just want to get far enough away that will not get killed by that explosion and you can actually notice here how the horizon of the sky turns sort of brownish or reddish when the

Weather summons in and so we’re going to want to start by hitting it with our bow but the initial damage we’re going to take a lot of is that wither effect and so you want to be really careful not to get hit with the heads too much and to

Run around as much as possible as well as eating as many golden carrots as you can because more or less getting that high saturation to regenerate your hurts is gonna be the only thing that’ll save you and let me just drink my potion of strength and potion of regeneration

Before i die the wither will try and target other mobs if it’s not targeting you and upon killing those it will drop a wither rose you can notice right now could be a good time to try and hit the wither but once we’ve given it damage it’ll then start targeting us again now

The regeneration effect is basically the only thing that’ll save you from the wither effect and so you want to be really careful to keep your potions stocked up on that so you do not die incredibly quickly and also something as simple as hiding underneath trees can make the wither not see you and

Therefore not hit at you but if you’re in java edition something that does make the java weather be more difficult than the bedrock wither is the fact that its health will regenerate milk can often also be a good idea as it will get rid of the wither effect but if

You’re using the strength and regeneration instead then it definitely is not a good idea and if you’re super close to the wither try using a sword on it the withering effect that you get is incredibly incredibly long duration and so potentially using a large amount of milk buckets instead of strength and

Regeneration is also a good method if you do have a smite sword those will give a massive amount of damage to the wither and if you’re not directly hit by the withers skulls you will also not get that withering effect and because the withers skulls don’t have a massive

Amount of damage that they actually incur as long as you have those milk buckets to top yourself up on the immunity from the withering effect then you could definitely be fine from that and now it’ll sort of have this shiny look around it and you can see that in

Bedrock at that stage the weather would then summon some wither skeletons around it basically the only way to kill it now is with a sword and you have to be really careful at this stage as of course you have to be very close to the wither to actually kill it so for

Instance you might have a lot of close calls like i’m having right now that’s when the golden carrots come in really handy and so for instance we should probably try the strength and regeneration method now and with one last golden carrot we should be able to

Run in and finish up the wither and so a good trick is to do critical attacks when fighting the wither and you have to get really close to it and so killing it quickly at this stage is very vital as you saw there drain most of my health

Already but we have now killed the wither and we have the nether star so to do the java edition method for the wither which interestingly enough used to work in bedrock as well but was very recently patched you will need five obsidian and of course the ingredients

For your weather you want to start by making sure you’re facing west and looking at the front bed of the portal so for instance right here we’re facing east so we’re going to start this on the other side as of course the way that the wither generates in if we’re facing a

Different direction it will not work correctly and you can check if it’s east on your f3 menu you’ll want to mine underneath the end portal so you want to mine down a staircase until you’re only three blocks below the bedrock right here so you can see that’s where we are

And once you’ve done that you want to mine every single direction around here three blocks tall until you see a piece of endstone in the corner as of course the end fountain is sort of supposed to look circular the corners there are not of the bedrock and so we’re going to

Keep going around here and you can see we then do not see the bedrock on that corner either and we’re going to fully mine this out a long time ago i made a video saying you could do the same thing when it was only two blocks tall and you

Can but if you have it be three blocks low like this it’ll make the wither be lower down which makes the spawn of your world be safe if you have things be built there so once we place down the subsidian t which is in the center of here and you

Want the center of that obsidian t to be right in the center of the end portal so you can see here there’s about three blocks here so let’s say that’s the center and then the center here lines up with this block so now that we’ve built

That and again make sure that you are facing west when you’re doing this or you’ll regret it unfortunately place down the three pieces of soul sand like this not placing anything on this last bit of the obsidian then take these three wither skeleton skulls and place

Them on each one of these blocks and a wither will summon in you do want to get a little bit away from the weather as of course its explosion will still hurt you quite a bit so we’re gonna go back here and the weather will explode and you’ll

Notice here we cannot see the wither through the portal here as if we did a little bit higher we could now we can help this process along but it generally makes the wither go a bit higher in the end portal although of course you can

Also see how easy it is to kill it like that but if you go up here you can notice the wither is a little bit higher up there and so either method works you could even summon in more withers here to make them just have a whole pile of

Withers dying but anyway there goes the last hit and we have the wither killed and that’s the easy method of killing the wither in java that i’m sure most players would do and now for the easy method in bedrock edition now before you do this incredibly easy method for

Bedrock you’ll need two end gateways one spawns every single time you defeat the ender dragon we’ve done that once and we’re gonna do it a second time by re-summoning it with four of the end crystals you could technically make this before you re-summon the ender dragon again

But the issue is then you would not have a way to get to the outer end islands or basically the vast majority of the end and so then when we destroy one of these somewhat it’s not gonna matter and we have the second one to use so once we’ve

Defeated the ender dragon for the second time and the second end gateway has opened we want to collect a locator map three blocks of any type but i’m just going to pick gold you want a sort of harder block and i like gold because it’s very visible

You’ll want one piece of nylon crimson or warped you will want a crimson fungus or a warped fungus you’ll need to correspond to the type of nylon you’ll want some bone meal for that maybe two stacks of cobblestone but definitely a block that endermen cannot pick up

You’ll want a pickaxe to break this as it’s somewhat temporary and of course you’ll want the ingredients to actually generate in the wither so the three wither skeleton skulls and the foresole soil or soul sand so the first step is going to be making a staircase all the

Way up to here and we will be using this part again however some of the things we build could be destroyed every single time we defeat the wither so just be aware not to use blocks that are too good and of course i’m just using those gold blocks for the sake of visibility

Now that we’re somewhat close to it we want to make sure a little bit lower than the end gateway is so maybe about here or even a little bit lower and then we’re going to bridge out from there which in bedrock you can do like this

Which is of course quite a nice feature of that version now we’re going to want to place a couple blocks off here and place a piece of nylon and then break those blocks and place down the crimson fungus and we will bone meal that fungus and when it grows it will destroy the

End gateway and then we can basically work to get rid of all these blocks here all right and you can see those are gone as well as the end gateway the next step is to open up your locator map we’re already on the correct side which is the

Left side of the map so the top of the map is north and we want to be on the west side which means the west side is the left side and you can see we’re just to the west of that little plus shape there which is this end gateway and so

We’re going to start by placing a block underneath the end gateway then one one out from it sort of in the corner there and one really parallel to that edge block then we’re going to pile up a little bit and we’re going to summon in the wither so place down your soul sand

Or sole soil with the first block of the withers tail being on top of this gold block so these three blocks here and these three heads are actually going outside of even where the gold blocks are and before you place them all down make sure you have a really easy way of

Getting all the way back to the main part of the end island as you do not want to be near this when it’s exploding and doing all that so we’re going to place down the next of the wither skeleton skulls and summon it in and you

Notice it got stuck in the middle of that end gateway we now want to run away as quick as possible so we don’t get too hurt and you’ll notice that wither is slowly starting to suffocate and now while it is shooting at school sometimes it’s very random and it won’t destroy

Too many blocks so just don’t do this to near anything you have built in the end all right now we’re near the halfway point and when it reaches it it explodes again and you can see the wither is now in that second stage and it’s sort of

Hard to see but those wither skeletons are right underneath where the wither is with their swords there and their heads and the weather will basically continue to suffocate till it fully dies and it will continue through exploding and just for reference i am on hard mode so this

Works no matter what level of the game you’re at and it’s now at the end of the fight and it’ll do its final explosion so you just want to get somewhat far away from that so you’re not hurt by that all the wither skeletons are just

Sitting there if we want to get rid of them we can break this lowest block right here and they will simply just fall down and we can now basically get our way to the center of where that end gateway was and you’ll see there is that

Another star and so how fitting is it that you can still defeat the wither in bedrock edition in a bedrock cage and of course you can reuse this as many times as you want just destroy some of the random blocks here replace those three gold blocks or whatever you’re using
