Minecraft 1.19 and 1.18 have both changed mining quite a bit so in this video learn how to get all the diamonds and other materials you want what levels to mine at different mining methods and more so as you can see right here i’ve laid out all the different places you Can mine now this is based off of mojing’s mining chart which is accurate to 1.19 we can see there is a triangular distribution to quite a few things a triangular distribution basically means in the middle of that triangle there’s going to be more things than at the Sides of it and so with most of these the center of these or generation clusters you will find the most things that so let’s break this down by each type let’s start with coal and the best place to find it the first one here is At y 136 that means in the middle left of your screen the y in the middle there that is what you want to use or if you’re on bedrock and have coordinates enabled that would be the middle y coordinate so 136 is a really good level To mine coal at another very good level is all the way down here and that is level 95 now these are the two levels where the most coal generates and you can very visually see that the most of all between both of these is 136. so what’s the best place of finding Coal now that we know the y level that it generates at well the best place to find it is a stoney peaks or a extreme hills also known as a windswept hills biome that’s because we have all of this exposed stone so you have this easy coal At the surface also if you find a cave network around that level 95 or 136 you can also find a lot of coal there and as an additional mining method you could always get this from fossils which i will explain later next we have copper and copper also has a triangular Distribution with the center of that being at y48 and so if you mine at this level you will find tons of copper from about y 0 all the way up to y 48 there is a chance for a massive copper vein to spawn in especially around the middle of That area so maybe y 24 and if you’re in caves around there it’s very common to find one of those we can probably even see one in fact right over there there’s one you can tell you found a giant copper or vein because it is tons of copper mixed with granite and there’s Also the occasional raw copper these can generate so many copper ore that you can find thousands and thousands of the ore blocks throughout these massive chains of the granite copper ore as well as raw copper but one other awesome place to find copper ore that i would definitely Recommend looking is a drip stone cave biome in a drip stone cave biome the amount of copper that generates in is more than double normally there is so much copper on the cave walls floor and roof that you can basically get enough of it to last you forever next we have Iron it basically starts with a non-triangular distribution from the bottom of the world all the way up to about y72 and in the middle of that a little bit higher than the middle of that there is a triangular distribution which has a lot of iron ore in it and That is centered at y15 so if you mine it y15 you will be able to find a large amount of iron no iron does have veins just like copper does and they generate roughly from y negative eight all the way down to the bottom of the world but This can change a little bit and so basically if you find one of these it’s very similar to the copper ore veins in the sense that they’re incredibly large a very good find and feature iron ore blocks of raw iron as well as tough in the iron vein whereas Of course in the copper vein there is the granite there’s a very small area where there’s no iron that generates that’s from about y73 all the way up to y79 and then from there all the way up to the top of the world we have a triangular distribution that just gives You more and more iron the higher you get up so if you can find a massively tall mountain that generates in that y 232 then you can get yourself the most amount of iron ore anywhere in the game outside of of course a large iron vein And what about lapis what is the best way of mining this blue block so it generates from y64 all the way down to the bottom of the world and that is a straight line distribution not triangular and it’s centered at y negative one because there is a triangular distribution that is centered there And this distribution has the most that generates there but this part of the distribution has an air exposure limit so the best way to find lapis is actually strip mining there’s not really a special method to get it of course you can trade it from villagers but that’s Not that quick or a good deal so generally if you’re mining around y negative one you can find the most lapis that way but of course caving can also work you just won’t get that reduced air exposure lapis although underwater mining can’t help that as the reduced Air exposure rule does not apply to it there so emeralds where do you get the most of them at well they have a triangular distribution more or less meaning you’ll find more of them the higher up you go but you only find them in one type of biome and that is Mountain type biomes so any biome that is a mountain type so let’s say a jagged peaks or an extreme hills or something like that that’s where you’ll find the emerald ore with the most of it being situated at about y 236 with there being less the lower down You go from that but it’s still technically generating very very low down all the way down into the deep slate layer so it’s still possible to get deep slate emerald or actually one of the rarer stores as it does generate down to negative 16. but i would certainly suggest getting your main Source of emeralds through villager trading as mining for them is really just a novelty alright and next we have the gold so gold has three distributions but two of them generated normally the first one is a bit larger and it’s triangular with the most amount of gold Generating in at about y negative 16 we have from negative 48 all the way down to the bottom of the world a small distribution of gold ore but because that’s so little still the best place to mine gold if you want just gold would be At y negative 16. however if you have a mesa biome nearby consider mining the gold there as there is a very large line distribution of the gold that generates in there it starts generating at y 32 and goes literally all the way up to y256 or more or less to the highest Place where minecraft will naturally generate blocks you can see here i’ve removed all the stone and things like that from this area of the mesa we go here from a standard biome right here you can see there’s not really any gold there’s not really much of anything up Here however the second we change the biome to the mesa you’ll see instantly we see large amounts of gold generating in the blobs of gold here are probably about as common as the blobs of coal and now for redstone how do you find the most of this well redstone also has a Straight line and a triangular distribution it has a very short and sharp triangular distribution that starts about at the level of negative 32 and goes of course all the way down to the bottom of the world and that gives you the most redstone or the lower down You are however there is also a straight line distribution which enables you to get the stone redstone ore as well as at the very bottom here because both of these combine at level negative 58 or maybe negative 57 if you want then you don’t have as many orders being blocked Off by the bedrock but more or less at level negative 58 you will find yourself a massive amount of redstone i would say strip mining for redstone is a very good way of getting it caving is also great because redstone is not influenced by reduced air exposure you will get Yourself a massive amount of this ore when you’re finding a low down deep cave and now for the one that everyone’s been waiting for and that is what are the best levels to mine diamond at well diamond starts generating in the normal stone layer so that you’re unable to get Yourself some stone diamond or still as of course if it didn’t generate up here that would be an impossible ore to get so that starts at level 16 and it’s very little right there but it’s a triangular distribution giving you the most at the bottom of the world but of course with The bedrock you wouldn’t want to mine right on top of that or you just be going around it or you’d be having ores be interrupted so you want to mine that at level negative 58 or 57 the exact same as redstone again just the reason Why you might want to do negative 57. so if you see here you’d be mining up here at negative 58 but sometimes what could happen is a diamond ore could generate beneath your feet you’ll see it but it also kind of generates around the bedrock so this would have been diamond But it’s bedrock whereas let’s say you’re mining up here and you see a diamond door it very very rarely will actually go into the bedrock as it cannot really get low enough to touch these occasional bedrocks that go at level negative 60. but it doesn’t matter too much either way and ideally negative 58 is your best level to mine diamonds at now though this is technically the best place to mine diamonds at and strip mining diamonds with a super fast pickaxe can be a pretty good idea you don’t always have an amazing pickaxe or a great way of mining it and so what i Would suggest doing if you want the fastest way of getting diamonds is to get them through diamond fossils or through underwater caving of course strip mining is your only real good long-term solution but for short-term quick diamonds both of those work well and i will outline how to do those later And now although you do know the best level to mine diamonds at don’t click away because there’s some very important mining strategies coming right up including how to moss mine how to mine in the deep dark biome in 1.19 which is completely vital to getting all the ores You want to get effectively you may wonder what are the best levels to mine out for a good mix of everything so there’s two different layers you want to mine at generally you could pick other ones but for now what i would suggest is level eight so of course this would be Basically right on top of the deep slate layer you’d be mining right here the reason for level eight is that it’s one of the only levels in the entire game where every single orc can generate there as you can see on the chart you can just get every single ore here Including even the deep slate ores however you do not mind any of the deep slate so it’s still a very quick way of mining and just a great way of getting all the different odds and ends of orders you may want but it is kind of Slow so if you want to specialize on redstone and diamonds with a side of gold and iron then the level you want to mine at is negative 57 or negative 58 with the differences of course being mentioned as i did earlier with negative 58 having slightly more materials a Negative 57 having less of them being interrupted by the bedrock and so mining at this level you will get yourself quite a bit of diamonds and redstone of course the only problem with this is that deep slate does take a long time to mine and it may feel like ages between All the different types of ores you get but overall if you do want your most assured way of getting all those different types of valuable items you do want to mine at negative 58 as well as level 8. so there’s a lot of different methods to actually mining now that you Know what layers to mine at and the first one which is rather simple but is quite important to know is the most effective way of strip mining also known as branch mining and so basically when you strip mine what you want to do is You sort of want to make a c shape as i call it so that’s basically one tunnel and then off that there’s a tunnel that’s going sideways and after that sideways tunnel you go back the same way what you’ve sort of done is you’ve gotten an end piece where you can mine From one area and then you’ll actually run into this wall but what is the exact length between tunnels you want well oftentimes players will do two blocks apart so that would be one level of strip mine and that would be two blocks in between and then another one what i Would suggest doing is actually doing five in between but what i do is i’ll mark it out like this so basically i’ll mine this then i’ll go to the middle here i’ll mark out one and then all mine over here so i have five blocks apart and this will give you the quickest Amount of materials just because you’re not going to be running over the same area as much and so mining like this you can go through here get a lot and then later on if you want to sort of finish out clearing the area you can mine in between those tunnels i would generally Suggest doing about 200 blocks long for this tunnel and maybe one to 200 blocks long for these tunnels depending on how big you want your mind to be and that will give you the most effective way of strip mining also i would suggest when mining and strip mining and caving all These different things something you could do if you want to is bring a fortune and silk touch pickaxe or even just a silk touch one and you could mine up ores instead of them dropping into let’s say some unsmelted raw gold or maybe some lapis blocks so for instance With something like lapis one lapisaur can technically give you up to 36 lapis so it’s probably not a good idea to mine that with a standard pickaxe so that can save you on inventory space if you want to do that but of course you’d have to Mine it up later so it’s all up to you but for a big mining trip a soap touch pickaxe can definitely be worth it now one of the best ways of getting more ores than you normally would while caving is to find a flooded aquifer cave So for instance this one here we can see these diamonds that generated at the bottom and we can mine those and those are basically generating there because there is no reduced air exposure rule here and so we don’t have to worry about those diamonds not generating in because They’re touching air as of course water is not counted as air and so any materials that have that rule are not affected in underwater caving so that’s how to do the traditional methods of mining but now for the really fun and untraditional ones which are incredibly useful for getting you large amounts of Materials in specialized ways mining with moss what you want to do is go down to the lowest cave you can find and break one block and put in a piece of moss then bone meal that around basically expanding the size of it to try and eat up as much of the deep slate And tough and just other materials around as possible this will basically turn anything into moss that is sort of a naturally generating stone or dirt like block that’s a really good way of mining because once we’ve gotten this to spread a little bit more if you get a stone hoe Or better so any type of hoe that’s at least stone you can instantly mine this what this does is this is a way of defeating the air exposure rule so basically when we’re doing this we’re exposing a massive amount of blocks but also we’re exposing a large amount of Blocks that were not air exposed in the first place so by doing this i’ve often found more diamonds than i normally would for instance right here we can see a diamond down here that we might not have seen normally and the next method is very similar and i call it deep dark Biome caving basically what you want to do to do this method is to break skulk shriekers or disable them to disable one of these without stepping on it simply just surround it in the wool blocks here and it’ll be made safe and once you’ve gotten rid of the couple skulk shriekers That are there well now it’s time to reap an experience as well as oars so get yourself the fastest toe you can go through here and insta mine as we can see already we’ve exposed some diamonds and this works similarly to the moss mining where we’re going to be exposing A bunch of ores that were not exposed before so not only are we making a massive amount of things now visible we’re also making things visible that were in the reduced air exposure rule so for instance this lapis right here might have been under the group of lapis that Could not touch air but now that we’ve mined it up we can see it there and of course at the same time we’re harvesting insane amounts of experience now though mining in the deep dark biome has its definite advantages there is also a negative side to it and that is strip Mining underneath an ancient city or a deep dark biome we will eventually summon in the warden and it is a herd choice to make whether or not you want to mine in the deep dark biome or not because although there is the danger there also are no hostile mobs that Spawn in the deep dark biome it is completely peaceful and you don’t even have to put down any torches if you don’t want to however of course the problem is the wardens and so you’ll notice when we mine this we do see those little particles and so what you could Do is you could always mine up destroy the shriekers and sensors and go back but that’s pretty dangerous so i would generally suggest doing if you notice that you’re underneath an ancient city or a deep dark biome is to set your spawn point nearby Just so if you do die you can grab your stuff again what i would also suggest doing and look we have the warden coming in right here what i’d also suggest doing is planning out an escape route and so as it gets angrier and angrier it’ll kill us with the sonic charge Right through the blocks here now the last mining technique i’m gonna show is mining for fossils now you can kind of do this without chunk base but generally i would suggest just going to chunk base.com typing in your seed this does work for java bedrock the newest versions older versions basically Anything you want and then this does also relate to minecraft 1.19 because what you have generating underneath the new mangrove swamp as well as in the old swamp biome and the desert biome are the fossils and so basically the height of the fossil will determine what type it is if it’s a Negative number of y it will be a diamond fossil these generally generate around about negative 50 a little bit lower and if it is a positive number then something like this it’s around about 50 those generate that would be a coal fossil and so not only do you get a Bunch of bones from these which you could use to moss mine later but you also get yourself tons of diamond or as well as tons of color and so if you’re in the new mangrove swamp biome just remember not only is this a pretty new biome it is also a biome that Underneath it houses tons of coal bone blocks and most especially diamonds the final thing you definitely need to know when caving is how to spawn proof a cave you want to have one torch every 12 blocks or maybe a little bit closer so if it’s perfectly flat you want them to Be 12 blocks apart so that would be 12 blocks with no torches on them in between each torch and you go the other direction and of course go 12 blocks this way and put down a torch and 12 blocks over here and put down a torch And as long as the light level is not level zero then you’re perfectly fine so something you can always do is sort of just run around a cave and if you see anything that is light level zero which is pretty easy to see as it’ll be pitch Black instead of just a little bit illuminated but when strip mining you might want to know the exact number do you put torches in and there is a specific way of doing this you want to have 24 blocks in between each torch so put down a torch and then start counting 24 from here and so for instance right here we have these torches 24 blocks apart at the very middle here you can see the light level never goes to zero it’s just two blocks with light level one and that’s everything you need to know about mining in 1.19 see in the next one You Video Information
