Oh my word hello Hi how are we The Season’s done Pirates SMP has come to a close a conclusion I saw O’s message uh apparently he said his final words uh I loved you as much as my wife and then sailed the tide high all the Way to Sheffield on sea I like that I like that I think that’s Good so firstly let’s do thoughts and then we’ll follow it up with questions afterwards so thoughts on the finale obviously a couple of tech issues but in terms of like the narrative vtuber law all of it how how we how are we feeling by the way it Wasn’t until later on that I figured out what was the reason for the doubling audio and it was because I had desktop audio um even if you don’t add desktop audio as a device it is just always present in the audio mixer on OBS so that was Piping into Channel One um when it should have been but I don’t think it was too much of a hindrance today tra tragic sibling stories are always great I loved the fact that you guys got to decide what happened that was very cool I really really liked that so after months and Months of like church of Iris seeming awful and then the corruption seeming awful then we find out they’re both just as messed up as other and like Suarez has just like done everybody in my question or my query is were they his I mean iess guess he Must have been right it must have been when he was Ajax Suarez he had the two kids and then he became uh Sandra Caravel later on cuz I think they even mentioned before he was Caravel or something like that but I yeah I’m curious as to what Caused them to to not be together anymore if that makes sense like what separated them Um cuz I know that obviously he took on the role of basically making the faction aisles and uh you know using it as a breeding ground for happy and carefree Souls it was interesting at the end that Irish said that she created the eesi so she created I guess or I guess if Anything she she created the ice wall it would appear that then surrounds what she could label as the eesi I keeps everybody out but doesn’t let anybody in um so yeah I wish we’ seen the other end in cuz I have no clue what would have happened then so we do know what Happened but that is not for us to share it genuinely we have cutcenes and everything um that would have shown off what would happen had chat voted a different way so yeah maybe you’ll never know I’m sure’ll Power share it in the future on Twitter maybe it’ll be a a patreon Thing this is basically like how history paints some people in better and worse than each other but in reality every part is messed up yeah yeah it was I know that you guys voted by mistake to go against um to go against Ivy but that works so much better for my character so The way it worked was depending on how you guys voted we would have to just act as a vessel for chat in that moment so if you guys had said Iris I would the the The Improv I would have done is like oh well you know me And cppy have been at odds but I’ve seen how bad things can get when I um don’t give people a chance I’ve had a change of heart I’ve had a change of sales I’m going to be I’m going to back crappie on this one that’s how I would have done It it’s extremely cool how much they did for your vtu law in game yeah yeah yeah um so to kind of unpack that a little bit the vtuber law stuff the volcano already was hollowed out somewhat beneath it um so when I said to them like hey how would you feel about Me chucking myself into the volcano and me doing something inside of there almost doing like a deaf Mountain from Zelda sort of feeling thing um they were like actually there is already space and there’s already a bit of Decor in there um but I obviously you know I didn’t pal Didn’t have to pay for this I used my own money and paid no name to develop um a dungeon experience I told them the bullet points of what I wanted as play so you know I said I wanted a bit of Parkour a bit of fighting and then I Wanted to come across the loot Shard at the end of whatever the dungeon experience is um so that was really really cool and they turned that around really quick as well I was really appreciative of that um so that was cool um and then also this this s SMP Couldn’t have been more perfect right because I had already settled on phrases like booty um and chest um and all that other sort of stuff for my vtuber law and then when they came to me and was like we’re doing Pirates SMP I was like oh my God like This just feeds into my V La so well like that’s it and loot as well loot um it all it all just clicked immediately and it’s a total coincidence with the Stars perfectly aligned um for that to be so relevant and the phrases to feel so Natural um which was good so that was that so that was the the heated exchange um so we did heated exchange and then in tonight’s live stream we had messages as we got closer to the portal fragmented but messages were coming through so that was interesting and the issue was is that I Would never have come across that location myself it took C crappie heading is there and also having better boats we we literally didn’t get the caravel boats unlocked until today so that was interesting that was very interesting and then the portal was inside the skull the skull was obviously how the Portal looked out in the data stream I didn’t know what the next s SMP was going to be when I did the line at the end of rats where I said oh he’s seen a new portal it’s unlike anything I’ve seen before I just knew the next Portal that I wanted to have going into an S SMP um was going to be was going to be that was going to be something cool so yeah so chapter four time so let me let me just consult my notes quickly because I feel as though I’ve maybe just not declared something Regarding that um vber law let me open up my Dock the thing is right with fragment Wars chapter four of the law is that really three and four kind of go hand inand if I’m honest I think I just broke them up into separate categories for the sake of it I guess really the official start of chapter 4 Would be when I reveal the proper ties between the vtuber law and the Watcher listener um eyes and ears law I think when I prop properly um make apparent the connection between the two is when that happens but I would say for now that technically we are already in the fragment Wars So they they are linked it’s always been apparent that they’re linked but I’ve never really revealed in what way that they’re linked but yeah I would say that realistically chapter 3 and chapter 4 are both happening in unison but I simply name it chapter 4 which is when I Kind of reveal how it is all connected So I think that’s the best way to describe it so there you go so three and four are technically happening in unison they’re just labeled differently in my Google doc so that I’ve got basically chapter 3 is data stream related and chapter 4 is kind of Life series related they’re Both kind of happening together I guess so then I guess chapter 5 would be when it all comes out and when we start trying to address all the problems I guess it’s the way that I could word that Chester Watchers listeners and dock Are all uh different factions in an Overarching conflict not quite no not quite I will I promise I will reveal to you eventually how it’s all connected and then you will see how the the lore is designed so that it can slot into any server any place any time all of it like it’s fine are you doing lauring Secret Life no I’ve already confirmed that I’m not doing lauring Secret Life um in terms of like I’m not going to be doing anything in video to my knowledge really that um that pertains to the law like it is still technically Cannon to the story it is still technically part of the eyes And ears half of chapter 3 chapter 4 whatever we’re calling it I don’t really know how to describe it so simply by the fact that I’m in secret life and playing Secret Life those are all canonical events on the eyes and ears side of things uh the big question is Doc Dead don’t know don’t know honest honestly straight answer I don’t know the real question is where’s where’s where’s character Martin where is where is v data stream character Martin when into a portal didn’t see him come out who knows I feel like that’s probably the more pressing issue forget forget what’s Going on with Doc that is or isn’t is Martin all right that’s just something to think about one thing I would say as well those messages that appeared in the chat tonight um th yeah those messages that appeared in the chat tonight that were all fragmented uh and were kind of you know Disrupted and stuff um they are fully written as in they are they are full sentences and real words and real messages that were genuinely getting fragmented but in a way that I think is quite silly and funny and was giving me those mixed messages so you know like The bit where it goes like left or right and it and and like we had to make the decision of going left or going right the message is more fleshed out um and I will probably reveal the full messages at some point you know what I Mean do want me to I I tell you what just give you an example of of what it looks like oh I think I messed up on that bit so the message on the the going left or right one said her oh no it said here it said here it did It did say here okay that’s just me being I I must not have caught it at the time so it spells out here left right hurry and the full message that came through from whoever wrote it was there isn’t much time left you’ll be all right so long as you Hurry and then obviously the selective letters came through in order to make out if it was read in order was here left right hurry so I thought that was a really fun way of the messages were going into into the world but the way they were presented to Pirate Martin was actually really Unhelpful to to Pirate Martin at the time and I thought that was a fun way of doing it and eventually I will reveal these messages to you so you can see what they are in full you could probably guess the first one right it was literally what six characters and you got blank AR uh blank and then was it why and then blank something like that it just said Martin so there you go you’ve got two out of what is it six of them so uh yeah there you go I like that who whoever sending them just sees Martin’s confusion is like why Can’t you read hey it was it was a different kind of uh it was a different kind of world this time around different kind of Shard different kind of portal it was it was all different it was all different was it okay for Martin to trust Sun God I know last time he Trusted people it turned out to be a chest agent in Disguise I I don’t think he felt as though he had much choice I saw somebody actually send me a Tumblr uh ask about this and I think given that pirate Martin character Martin had lost total connection with um with Doc and had Heard nothing back and also he kind of started to kind of go power hungry and be a bit tainted by sort of the the mental trauma as well as the overpower that the Sunstone was granting him I don’t think pirate Martin was really thinking straight still had enough sense to not try to Explain what The Shard was the Sun God but didn’t didn’t think about his own safety quite as much so I think that was sort of like a slip of a SL you know sort of a slip on morals there but it was almost an act of desperation was the way that I was Seeing It ENC m sun god sentient non NPC like Martin not necessarily data stream but he’s aware he’s in a game no I think uh character Martin thinks that sun god pertains to the world um maybe somewhat AI driven so not not hard coded to only have if that then This it has a level of intelligence but no more than the other NPCs on the island or maybe slightly more than the other NPCs on the island that have um you know chat GPT basically running them yeah like an administrator Entity tell you what a a good probably comparison would be you know in sort online there’s the little kid UI that would probably be a um it has that kind of vibe to it so very much bound to that world but has powers beyond the typical NPCs is Sort of a elusive you know um sort of Mainframe Navigator um so yeah that’s kind of what I was thinking with that now the blood on the monitor who knows who knows I really liked how that monitor came together by the way just from like a technical standpoint I used the the The camera overlays that I had from the very first vtuber teasers which were considered more like chest CCTV cameras um and if you noce I changed the word in the bottom right corner away from chest instead to be uh Dock and then the thing that I did in Those Twitter teasers was I had it so um I had it so that wherever the left and the right volumes kind of joined that would be the position on the screen where my vtuber was hiding in a teaser so I’ll show you what I mean um debut Socials so if I show you like this one for example here we go um yeah here here it is uh I could do that one now yeah nice cool get rid of that one as well yeah so see how like it’s kind of relatively Central it could Go off slightly more in that direction so maybe it could have been four and two uh but it’s roughly centered or you had like this one again this one was pretty Central so he was right in the middle just there um there was the jet set one Where he was very much off to the um he was very much off to the left hand side he was in the car back there which is why it’s two and that but if you notice that on um that on which screen is it that on this screen they are all tiny Squares because at this point character Martin is not in that world not being tracked so that was a very mindful decision um and then obviously the camera says dock instead of chest there were some people asking about the uh numbers for the camera as well um I think I goofed On that uh oh no oh did I yeah maybe goofed on it a Teensy bit I might have broken Trend compared to the others yeah I definitely did it was supposed to be 30723 basically the start date of pirates but I think most people figured that out already Um so yeah so that was pretty cool um then um what else is there any other details to talk about vtuber wise I think I’ve kind of covered everything kind of covered that the the messages were fragmented the portal was where it was we don’t know what’s happened to Doc Like it’s doc cool is Doc not cool that was the monitor from his lab the one where it played brick breaker um what does quarantine mean I mean what what does quarantine mean Google definition quarantine what is the definition of quarantine what would happen if someone Awakens and more so if it’s a main character or a main villain have I spoken about Awakening yeah and what it Means is Martin going to be quarantined now maybe only on Tumblr what did I say about quarantine on Tumblr or sorry not quarantine uh Awakening have a look uh awaken Awakening awakened maybe I haven’t not sure not sure on that one I think the way that I mean I can’t Remember what I said at the time now I think the way that pirate Martin interpreted it if you didn’t vocalize it but internally was thinking that quarantine may have men closing the portal not actually letting pirate Martin out and that was what the uh the the fear was For where this portal and this loot Shard were different than usual I think there was the very real fear in Pirate Martin that’s why he was so quick to get to the portal because there was that fear that he was about to get locked in and be stuck in that World and I think he’d rather be stuck out in the data stream rather than um rather than you know in a in a singular game oh I did say trapped here okay cool that’s good then I’m glad that I did did SG actually destroy the loot Shard yes I will say yes yes Yes that did happen I feel like I would like to pay an illustrator to do a couple of images one of them is the destroying of the loot Shard um another one will be um will be maybe me running for my life and then the other one will be me Getting spat out of the volcano which will be in the video version of the heated exchange law stream do we know for sure that there was a chest agent we don’t we don’t what if he’s infected the data stream now that’s always a possibility that’s always a Possibility the uh you know the loot Shard could have been destroyed in not so efficient way normally we have our sequencer and there is a proper program for it but if it’s dealt with there could be remnants there could be tracers there could be fail safes there could be trap Doors in not dismantling a loot Shard correctly which is kind of what’s happened there potentially so there you go what’s happened to us Martin know we dead what the r rats yeah the rats the rats will be stuck in that world unfortunately you know as always unless unless character Martin selects Something to bring out with him to save as a um to to save as a bit of a uh you know a momento then yeah chances are prob stuck I mean maybe it brought out a rra who knows he has already selected something to bring out as a momento but what that thing Is will remain to be seen for Now could have been anything what are the rats and fleas canonically honestly I think they are I think they just exist and they’re almost kind of like a diary for for Martin I kind of like the idea that seek is those things if that makes sense like seek the little sequencer I Like the idea that that is what they are but then that wouldn’t work really in the story because for this hole of pirates I’ve not had seek so I don’t think I want to commit that to the to the cannon I I don’t think that Works are you code uh I mean at the moment still Yes uh character Martin’s physical form does not currently exist dog built a way to go into the data stream but wasn’t quite uh up to speed yet with the technology to bring somebody back out again how to reassemble those atoms it’s It’s it’s a work in progress it’s something that was was being worked on which is why it’s such a tragedy that um that character Martin’s gone in he would be back out by now if that Tech existed but it doesn’t yet but it is it is in the Works it’s just when dock is being chased by chest and other organizations it doesn’t give him much time to work on that stuff I adored working with you man thank you so much for everything hey water hopefully we don’t lose touch no not all dude I’m always about you know where I am if you ever want to hang out and do stuff absolutely important question if you edit a specific file of your code can You have different scales if you ever got out no I think I think the way I’m going to we I know what you’re suggesting that’ be great just five on everything no um we need a new VC contest to see who leaves last oh dude the only reason I didn’t the only Reason I was able to participate in that is cuz I wasn’t at home at the time but now I’ve got um now I’m home with the little ones I don’t have that luxury anymore you will probably always win um what was the point I was about to make Uh oh yeah the way that I like to imagine it in my head is that upon entry um I don’t even really know what the device is called I’ve never really giv it a name but the device that pulled Karen to Martin into the data stream um Took basically a snapshot of Martin so a biological snapshot of everything top to bottom there is then the argument about like is there a soul and where does that go or is that also like done maybe that’s what happen maybe Martin gets reassembled when he comes back out but actually Um that doesn’t quite work who knows the scars the scars are really important does he age he probably does not know so he will come back out with all of this experience and all this wisdom but he won’t have ageed a day I mean with the whole soul thing is There even souls in that world is it really all just material and matter can it all be broken down into ones and zeros big questions we’re asking here Jesus how old is character Martin roughly he’s like early 20s he’s like I’d say like 21 22 somewhere in that Region in each piece lies a piece that makes up a hole woven the fragments that make up a soul yeah this is true but that could just be them talking wanky for the sake of talking wanky you know what I mean we’ll see does his family out in the data stream Know where he is uh no he did just vanish one day and it is an active missing person’s case of which the trailer has gone ice cold and they have somewhat given up on it they’re open to uh to leads and to you know information but nobody’s come forwards with any Because they simply don’t know the police came to speak with Doc but of course there’s no Evidence but how long has character Martin been missing gez I think really the way I kind of said it initially was that really the events that lead up to the vtuber thing I think we did a rough timeline guesstimate and then I think after that it’s been relatively real Time hasn’t it for quite some time so I think it was a longer period at like the debut of the vtuber um between the events of it and the start of the vtuber um I think I said it was did we say it was something like yeah 10 months Yeah so basically from the moment he gets pulled into the data stream he had about 10 months then the then we debuted the vtuber and then from that point it’s been real time so quite a while what did Irish turn everybody to stone for so that was basically if I’m If I’m understanding the the Pirates law correctly Iris would turn people to Stone and use their guess Life Energy if you will uh as a fuel for petrifying the corruption and keeping the magic strong probably herself young the ice wall up and Ivy locked down and turning any purple stuff into Stone between major s smps do character Martin go on smaller and easier trips to get easier shards yeah yeah yeah and it we just play games for fun as Well is passage of time in the game simulated or real time what do you mean by that newbie can you clarify like can you explain more I’m intrigued by the question I’m just not sure I fully understand it I was there I was there at the uh twitch comp panel when pirates was Announced and I’m here when it’s finished it’s full circle yeah it Is how old was Mar when he entered the date of stream like I said about 21 22 something in that region I don’t know the exact age but early 20s for sure oh Asing does a day in Minecraft feel like a real life day to character Martin no I wouldn’t say that a 20 minute day um I wouldn’t say that a 20- minute day feels like 24 hours to Martin it very much feels like real time and it’s like you know all the characters that are in the game and obviously any of the any of the people In pirates that were actually avatars controlled by real people playing the game none of them ever question the day night cycle and how respawn works and things like that and any of the NPCs they’re just coded and they don’t they don’t think about that stuff they just crack on Gosh Martin has a horrible sleeping schedule well so I actually did speak about this before I was saying that obviously uh character Martin can’t sleep whether he’s in the datea Stream or whether he’s in a game but what he does instead is he still tries to maintain some form of a Routine um to try and retain some semblance of feeling human uh but instead of obviously being able to sleep he would just lie there instead close his eyes and listen to sounds or audio books or podcasts and things like that from within the data stream he still has access to the outside world Um oh yeah and also meditate I guess yeah when you say NPCs do you mean like other S&P members as well yeah yeah yeah so basically the other s SMP members every other character that Martin encounters unless it’s apparently obvious because they are somebody like saffrey or Digby or someone who’s very Apparently an NPC from the game World anybody that has a bit more give and take to them um Martin thinks they that they are either um somebody playing the game in the real world like you know they’re basically playing in MMO or is it you know similar as if they were Playing sea of Thieves or whatever um or there is always the chance that those people are also chest agents which is why he never Reveals His Real situation to any of them the closest he’s gotten is like you know with Su God and saying I know what this is It’s not really of this world but I don’t think he even said that I think he really kept his cards close to his chest so i’ I’ve written before on Tumblr about the paranoia that pirate Martin or character Martin should I say um Harbors is mins data anyway protected I Mean there’s a snapshot of the version of him that went in there and dog does make regular um backups of Martin’s code as well so they aren’t copies of him um it kind of it hard overwrites the file if that makes sense so there’s the biological snapshot That was taken when Mar got pulled into the data stream but in terms of like his memory and stuff like that what doc assumes is his memories on file they are constantly overwritten so the reason Martin won’t get pulled out and be same body same mind and forget that all of This ever happened it’s he will retain knowledge but won’t have physically aged whether that will cause a strange conflict when he comes back out you know on a on a molecular level we don’t Know you can’t back up biological snapshots no no you can’t it’s part of the um it’s basically part of an an agreement um to not do so I mean this technology is unbelievably Under Wraps like super under wraps and that’s something we’ll explore in the um in the comic if we do One is the data stream considered infinite meaning infinite game worlds or is there an end I would say it’s considered infinite it’s considered infinite in terms of like basically the data stream is basically just the internet right so our own internet continues to grow every time a new hard drive is made And it’s plugged in and it is accessible by some form of networking it expands it continues you know what I Mean and that will make sense as to I’m trying not to spoil anything here I won’t say any more there apart from the data stream’s existence is the world character Martin comes from just bul standard like as or is there any is there some kind of magical or Science fictiony um I mean I guess they’re slightly more evolved right they’re slightly further ahead in terms of Technology but that’s only really beneath the surface and by beneath the surface I mean behind closed doors there are technologies that far exceed what is publicly accessible and consumed like I Said this this biometric snapsho in is uh it’s very very teeny tiny and it could be the same in IRL as well Yeah when Martin enters the game does he see the game in the same Graphics as us or is everything hyper realistic no he sees it he sees it as is um and like we’ve said before like he doesn’t necessarily feel pain from things like fire and stuff like that but he he tries To role play as heavily as possible so that one it feels apparent to other players that are around um who you know are likely real people and also just to give himself a sense of humanity if he’s on fire he’s not just going to go like oh well this Will fade off in a few seconds no worries like he tries to play the part because that’s the only way he can live you know what I mean cuz in the data stream there’s a nothingness there he doesn’t feel anything What would happen if his St or Cod was messed with that’s a big question the answer is we don’t know we don’t know maybe it already is being messed with maybe what would happen if character Martin would canonically die in a world or data stream would it be the same as a game Death let me read that again what would happen if character Martin would canonically die in a world or data Stream would it be the same as a game death the data stream is a different kettle of fish dying in a game world I don’t know I guess I’ve not really thought about that too much I’m not going to put any like hard yes or NOS on that but there’s a few Avenues I could explore with that storytelling wise I think what I’ve done with this vtuber law at the moment is made it as flexible as possible uh and then left out things that just don’t need to be defined like why Define something now that will then Put a shackle on me um later on like you know the the the sort of the fluffy happy version is if Martin canonically dies in a game world and it’s like no like you know say he’s playing hardcore Minecraft or whatever like it just ejects him back out the Portal and he has to give it another try you know what I mean it’s it’s that kind of feeling or it could be that every time he does it like it chips away I don’t know I I’ve not really thought about that too Much I still don’t trust that Martin is the original one that went in I think doc has messed with the code and each time Martin figures it out he’s reset to an earli version It’s a dark ass idea I’m keeping my character Martin feels the pain of dying in game cuz I Like The Angst thank you very much well you know he feels it in terms of seeing his HP bar go down and I think there always is that genuine fear because we still don’t know and character Martin still doesn’t know if there is any real way for a chest agent to actually Harm Martin and his code and all that sort of stuff if they if they figure that out if they figure out some way to disrupt him and to and to corrupt him it would mean he couldn’t be restored as a whole person coming back out of there so There is that real fear and that real danger that’s there so if he doesn’t even if he doesn’t necessarily feel the pain the the emotions I think that’s the biggest thing right is that the whole thing with character Martin is that the emotions are all real he’s absolutely bubbling over Sometimes with them is how he can so easily shut emotions on and off for necessity and that’s how he can also get he can lose control and run away with it like you did by becoming blond beard and stuff like that like it’s a very um it’s a very involved Experience he could just become neutral he could stay in the data stream he could sit there on his ass and just wait for Doc to get him out eventually but I think the reason that Martin helps Doc is because doc constantly has people trying to find him and also doc has made Martin aware of some of the stuff that chest are doing and Martin feels as though there’s a moral obligation and it’s kind of a two birds one uh one stone right it’s uh if Martin helps doc he’s quickening his chances of getting out and also Doing some good for the world and it all kind of ties in nicely I think there’s a bit of a a hero uh or heroism trait within character Martin where he can’t help himself if he ever gets out of the data stream he’s going to struggle so much to Tell reality in the game apart I think maybe Maybe but it might just be like that thing of you know when people go to space and for the first month or so they come back and they still try to let go of things midair and just think they’re going to stay there it may just be an Adjustment period but probably a much quicker one because he will be able to feel again he’ll be able to feel the warmth of the sun he’ll be able to feel the material brushing on his clothes he’ll probably be hyper sensitive when he comes back out it’s probably going to Be a real real dire sensory overload of even the simplest things even a breeze a breeze is going to be strange and that’s that I guess that’s something i’ I was thinking about genuinely today when I was putting together the um the video I’ll show you it Actually let me show you the um the thing it’s something that I’ve no one’s ever really mentioned but the way I’ve described the data stream doesn’t quite match up with how um how some things are presented so one of the main things is this um where is it here it is Oh is actually in here let me check if I pause that real quick oh that’s not turned up sorry hold on there we go so he how there’s that kind of like Rumble and wind rushing sound like in the data stream there is there are no clouds there’s no weather there’s no nothing Um so why does that exist and that is just one of the things that Dockers done for Martin so that when he’s flying around there is that kind of sensory um existence you know what I mean so it’s a it is all totally generated um and it matches what Martin Feels as though should be happening in there so there there is the noise and the hair will move in a way that kind of matches the physics of what he’s doing that’s something I’ve been mindful of for a while cuz I had the the the wind noise Even in the original teaser as well um so yeah there’s there there’s a lot that doc does to try and help keep Martin rooted and keep him um in reality it’s why like I said before Martin has the diary that he fills out on seek is it allows Martin to quantify time and Keep a note of everything and still feel as though he is a person who’s not just this potentially infinite and undying being because we’ve already enough fiction or you know seen enough theories about what living forever would actually be like and stuff um so yeah so that’s again the wind Doesn’t exist but it is there as a as an audible tool to give Martin some some sense of being so yeah um but yeah to answer a question yes these a lot of these assets are reused um just because they they worked you know what I mean so All of these are pulled from the original um thing so look You’ got Martin there floating around doing his thing this one is this one’s new this one’s literally just um this one’s literally just the flying one this one I think was actually when he came out of The portal in the original vtuber debut stuff this has a nice thing on it it’s got like um a blur so see how it’s kind of like blurring backwards um I thought that was a nice little effect just some stuff that I can do in D Vin resolve That I can’t do in Prem Pro um the stuff that was new was so that one there actually if you look at that if I reset the things um where is it wait what oh no it is yeah how do I how do I reset you oh look There you go there you go so that is this artwork here which was for the original portal so when he when he fixes the portal in the uh original animatic the portal is here and it has like three or four phases um and then this shot Here with this thing this is actually an entirely separate shot so the skull is on one level Martin is on one level and the background is on a separate level as well so these two are very similar I think this might actually be I think this is actually the same original shot It’s just that there was a different portal there before in fact I could probably even find the image where is it um where is it file request Cara color frames so that shot there is yeah look here it is so this is what the original shot looked like so this Was where the portal was um was closing up after it was broken and then it’s also it’s basically this shot here we go yeah look so see see how similar they are so this was what the original shot was and then this was the rep purposed One so luckily Carla still had the psds for this so she still had all the layers and stuff so she basically redrew the portal and I don’t know if it was apparent but the portal does have a very slight um Wess to it yeah you can just about Kind of see it moving and stuff I didn’t want it over animated but I wanted it to feel alive also I really liked the um the effect I did here so I actually did make an effort to have um to to have Martin actually pull into the portal so If I go through frame by frame so you see him twist a little bit and you can see he slowly gets pulled in and actually ends up going into the mouth of the portal it is such a quick animation but um but yeah and then that effect there just cuz I really like showing off the nerdy edit inside of this as well um that effect there is just a little cheeky thing called jpeg damage um so what jpeg damage does if I disable the vortex you can see what’s happening here so jpeg damage I’ll turn off the Camera Shake as well actually so jpeg damage basically just makes the quality of the image lesser and lesser to make it look like an old you know an old video game it basically just reduces the number of colors as it goes which is pretty cool and then a bit a camera Shake so he’s kind of moving from top to Corner and then when you add in then the The Vortex The Vortex is what does the swirly bit really I would have liked it if that animation there the vortex actually started a little bit more here but it does end There it’s really creepy when you slow it down but it’s such a cool effect when you play it out of a sudden um so yeah so I didn’t really know what to expect when doc was saying that this was unlike anything also do you like how He’s going the opposite way to how he was in the uh at the end of rats seen before I thought maybe he’s just out of touch and doesn’t know what a mber is but then I never expected to see that thing it was huge and i’ never seen a portal take Shape before I pulled out a secet c Dock and then all of a sudden hopefully I timed it well when I did that I wanted it to be that I saw the portal I’m like oh my God I’ve seen that before and then bam straight into this um yeah that Thing so he got sucked in yeah yeah and I think that that’s an important detail I think it’s important to note that character Martin didn’t choose to go into that portal he was pulled into it and very evidently immediately lost all uh lost all capability to communicate with Doc as well so there There is there is a reasoning around all of that and then the blood spatter on the monitor back out in Doc’s lab like it’s hopefully it’s all painting a bit of a picture um the commentary uh feels like an a commentary oh sorry the calmness also kind of feels like an after commentary Yeah I think it’s this flashback was meant to serve as a this this was almost like this was a flashback in the moment but I think this narration was basically pulled from a diary entry earlier in Martin’s time in Pirates so once Martin had found his footing realized that he wasn’t hearing Anything from Doc um he was sort of keeping a diary for himself to keep that that practice up so there was a physical book in Pirates which I don’t know if I ever actually showed that off it is in the world somewhere in Pirates there’s there’s the diary that I wrote in and Did random diary entries um whilst in Pirates and this this is basically one of those diary entries where he’s kind of just noting down what happened really know what to expect when doc was saying that this was unlike anything they’d seen before I thought that’s why this seems quite Calming is because this from a more relaxed period the visual is more for the present Martin who is seeing the the you know the skull and stuff and then he’s kind of having a flashback to an old diary entry that explains it very well he’s just out of touch and doesn’t know What a mber is but then I never expected to see it’s ridiculous how much it almost feels like I’m overthinking it a lot all the time but I just think nah like I think it’s just it’s nice and thorough you know what I mean it was Huge and i’ never seen a portal take shape before I pulled out a seek to call Dock and then all of a sudden I love the fact that it pulled him in uh had thought that dock had pushed him in in the beginning of pirates I think character Martin Probably does still think that doc probably pushed him in I mean his very first words when he landed in the worlds were you could have given me a better Landing I don’t think at that point and probably maybe even still not now I don’t think Martin is aware that Potentially something has happened to Doc or that something else entirely could be happening um he has no he has no context he has no you know he’s notot a higher being who can see stuff that he shouldn’t so yeah can I say that that portal looks amazing it’s cool right seek to called Dock and then all of a sudden without reading comprehension I’m glad you have a good clear visual making the skull link yeah that is good uh will there be a vtu law recap I did do a little one have you have you not seen it um I mean obviously the story Has continued since then but I’m pretty sure I did a little YouTube short about it where is it shorts um yeah here we go oh the audio on refresh it here’s my V law in 60 seconds this is Martin a young adult gamer who wanted to Pirate a few Old video games the only person who knew how to you know what’s really funny is that he’s ending up in a pirate world after pirating games again that’s just one of those wonderful coincidences do this was Doc his slightly mysterious neighbor who has a lot of fancy Tech in His garage Martin presses something he sh in and ends up getting pulled into the data stream an endless green void connected to every Data Center on the planet and for now he’s stuck doc knows how to send things into there but he doesn’t know how to get them out again And Martin’s going to be there a while because Doc’s hands are full he spends most of his days fighting an evil behind closed doors Mega Corporation that’s the big important thing is chest to The Wider world are this lovely humanitarian technology uh driving force in the world so the fact that they are Unbelievably potentially evil is an interesting one called chest to speed things up Martin becomes a self-entitled data stream Defender traveling to various game worlds and deleting loot shards that reside there with loot standing for low orbiting operation trigger with little clue as to who’s an NPC a real player or a chest Agent Martin does his best to blend into each of these game worlds whilst on the search what does this text say will we ever learn more about doc chess must stand for something right and how does this connecting to the Minecraft Multiverse I guess we’ll just have to Wait and see here’s my and then there is this this one the rat’s SMP is finally over and in true Marvel style it had a post credit scene so let’s go over some of the brand new detail you know what I didn’t do which I’m really annoyed at Myself about now uh I might do it for the YouTube video was you know like at the end of rats it came up and said Martin will return I I had the thought earlier on today and I think I just got so busy making that cut scene and Pulling it all together and stuff and um making the doc screen overlay and blah blah blah blah blah that I just kind of forgot honestly which I’m frustrated about but instead of saying Martin will return and I wanted it to say will Martin return at the end um after the Screen went black tells we’ve learned about the but I can do that in the in the YouTube video when I think that would be a good one to addow into the portal that was made for sne that wasn’t just a troll it was actually a test to see whether characters could leave their Game worlds it didn’t work but during the loot cave episode Awakenings was mentioned implying that maybe with some extra steps it might be possible and on the topic of the loot cave we still don’t actually know what the loot shards are the only new tidbit of information We have is that potentially the size of The Shard affects the size of the rift out in the data stream more of those strange characters and symbols began appearing everywhere the chalkboard in the Attic bar had a few and we even saw some on the sequencer speaking of seek Which is Martin’s nickname for it it’s got a diary function so that diary as well as a bunch of other Concepts in the story have been getting fully fleshed out over on my Tumblr feel free to come and fire a question my way and I will see pirates S&P has concluded um Ooh oh cool nice um sorry I just saw something in the Discord that it’s not for public eyes so yeah so uh Pirates is Pirates is over again another wonderful SMP I had a really really good time on it Pirates came at the right time for me um earlier on this year I Was away for 5 weeks something like that um and I think if I didn’t have Pirates if I didn’t have something that I could really throw my whole soul into um I would have been a lot worse than I was I I I already had a pretty rough summer um It was very intense emotionally and there was I had a lot going on IRL um but Pirates was the right distraction the right Workforce that I needed to kind of to kind of keep me going so it again it’s those wonderful coincidences that I seem to have with pal Creations Um but yeah I was I was dealing with a lot over the summer and I was away from home I wasn’t with my family there was all sorts going on and yeah Pirates was the right thing at the right time so very very thankful for this s SMP and Again absolutely love working with everybody everybody that’s in the series is so good like they’re great at improv everybody has that common goal of wanting to tell a cool story everybody’s telling their own cool individual stories everybody wants to ensure that their stories blend wherever possible to Really kind of give this real feeling of a a living breathing world it’s just great it’s just great it’s really good I couldn’t ask for any more out of an S SMP honestly and like Owen and Appo and a no name as well they’re always really willing to let me take the Reigns on my story and like it’s you know it’s not for it’s not without me asking them Hey would this be okay like like they always can say no but I like to think that I’ve got a good um sort of a a a good eye and a good mind for maintaining consistent Storytelling so I always make sure that the way that I’ve originally designed my vtuber law and even the stuff that I want to do in world with say blonde beard as a character it had to make sense within the world of pirates I couldn’t just do oh I want to do this And break the fourth wall and do blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah it’s like no like everything needs to have purpose everything needs to interconnected um so yeah I think I’ve done that I think I’ve achieved that I think it’s going to be good Pirates SMP will be putting the Hall of Fame along with rats S&P in any new ones to come yeah it really will it really will I think I think everything that pal makes is is very special nobody else is doing it quite like this there are other smps that have the odd L bit Every so often but it’s often just very vocally driven there isn’t of often that much in the way of builds and there’s certainly not an overarching narrative thread that carries through the whole story and it allows for people to come in and play a game but then if they Really want to they can go ahead and actually elaborate on the story and weave in their own personalities and traits to make a a fuller product a wider more expansive law which I think is really really cool I don’t think there’s many environments where you can Do that or a lot of creators quite honestly that would allow you to do that I think Owen and Appo are very accommodating and very giving and they really trust the people that are in their circle like I’ve never heard them poo poo anybody’s ideas whether it’s you Know queros or mine or water wanting to do a wedding like literally anytime I’ve seen a request go into the Discord it’s always been yeah sure we can do that what do you need to make it happen like immediately they are just straighten with like that sounds great like if they Had to say no because they needed a certain character for a certain thing like later on then they would let you know but they would always offer Alternatives like they it it’s just a wonderful environment to working it really is um and that’s why even though You know if you look on the YouTube channel Pirates does pennies compared to you know that you know look so you got secret life you got you know six-digit views on all of these on Pirates I’m lucky to scrape like oh 18K actually for that Pirates episode is actually really High 14k 12 12 11 like it’s barely scraping 10,000 views 12 there but I put it I put these episodes out because this is this is unique this isn’t just another 100 days this isn’t just another miname server thing this isn’t just another I got three friends together and We had this half ass data pack and we’re just going to make dick jokes the whole time or whatever you know what I mean like I I think this is special I think this is storytelling I think this is something people can get get invested In um and that’s why I continue to put the episodes out because that for me is as a legacy piece you know what I mean it’s a passion project it’s a legacy piece um and it’s something I’m super proud to where like I wear the pow badge with pride you know what I Mean Hello Appo um so yeah no I I love being part of these These are really cool very very very very very very good cool very cool so my plan is is um to try and get another Pirates episode out this week so the last one that I uploaded was the Underwater city um which was uh a big LW one I don’t remember what number stream that was it would actually be a quicker Sprint to the Finish than you might think for the videos so the underwater city was um where is the underwater city the underwater city was I think it was That stream there is it number 18 called into to deep let me just change to my main yeah Okay cool so yeah so that my my last episode was this one that was stream 18 um like stream 19 from what I can tell from the stream title was just Exploration which me probably won’t leave that in uh we have a bit of a ship upgrade in 21 we do have first Fortress in 20 so I’ll probably show off a bit of that uh VOD 22 was the muasa one which would be good and then everything from 23 and 24 was just the newspaper which I’ll probably use then segue into 25 which was um the two new kols that we got so that was when Callum Shelby and Shep and did somebody else join us during that time the secret rooms what’s the secret rooms oh no number 26 was me Making I think oh no number 26 was the secret rooms as in like the the Easter egg rooms uh Curse of the Golden Raiders was the stream that I did with sausage then that’s questing that’s questing meetting die that’s questing again that one’s making a newspaper shadows and fortresses I don’t Know what that one contains questing and jingle so that one wouldn’t make it into a video new britin ship I’d probably keep a piece or two from that and then then we’re straight up to VOD 35 So within the space of two maybe three episodes we’ll have left 17 17 vods so it really is going to be like a Sprint finish but this is where we had the cave where we then found Mani petrified so in the space of like two maybe three videos we’ll jump uh uh 17 vods and then from there to the end so That’s what VOD 35 there VOD 36 questing VOD 37 I steal the sunset Stone that’ll be interesting VOD 38 is a little bit of that reaction to be stealing the sunset Stone keep a bit of that in um the Halloween event will be its own video without a doubt strange Objects and new faces that would be when the strange objects are added in so we’ll keep Snippets of that um then there was the questioning cppy which will probably be part of that same video that was the one that I did with uh Gracie Crow and Appo that was the beginning of blond Beard then VOD 42 was Sandro’s diary which was obviously super important then there was the newspaper and the casino we’ll keep a bit of that in and then obviously vods 44 45 and 46 was blond Beard’s arrival the pre-wedding plans and then crashing the wedding then we have uh VOD 47 which which was a heated exchange which was my LW finale my personal one and then that leads us to VOD 48 which is today’s Stream So I reckon we can probably wrap this up in maybe like six videos something like that which I think he pretty good Going so we got maybe six more Pirates videos and that’ll see the series through to the end that’ll probably bleed into the new year a little bit but that’s nice I like I’m not going to rush myself to get them all out before Christmas or anything like that I’m just Going to let everything trickle out and go out as it’s going to because realistically January I don’t have anything to do there aren’t any s smps to join there isn’t any um there isn’t any projects to move on to so I’m happily just going to do some streaming And having fun and then obviously doing some Pirates edits in the daytime before I go live so yeah that’s kind of the plans for the immediate future with all that sort of stuff um and yeah it has been a fun fun project any other final questions before I head Off cuz I’m going to go have a little bit of food um before I go but I hope you enjoyed the finale I’m going to try and get that uploaded to YouTube at ASAP have it go live at midday tomorrow and then tomorrow I’m working on a brand deal all Day I’m working on a brand deal all tomorrow so there’s a chance that I won’t stream tomorrow just because I I want to get this brand deal over the Finish Line tomorrow so I need to record it editing and send it off to the client uh very Quickly it’s a video that you will see before the 20th I believe and then of course we got the finale of Secret Life coming up this Friday so that’ll be going out on the 15th little reminder that the live series shop closes on the 18th which will be the Monday so make Sure you get your stuff in that weekend I don’t know what time on the 18th um it will be but yeah oop the finale well it’s my finale Al I’ll tell you that much um but yeah abolish raid gret I like that instead of regret we do not regret this raid I like To hear that I like to hear that um but yeah so those those are my plans for the next week or so I I feel like once I’ve got this brand de out the way tomorrow I can kind of breathe a sigh of relief I feel like I’ve done all of my major Obligations for 2023 Pirates will be a nice easy edit we’ll get back to some casual live streaming um and then we’ll kind of go from there how are you doing The Counter Strike stream for jingle jam so it’s weird I actually had said to Harry that I was up For it cuz originally on the signup form for it um so there was a signup form that had loads of different streams that were pitched but not locked in yet um and I had and I hadn’t signed up on that because it had said that everybody Playing it had to be inh housee as in at the yog’s office um but then the other day Harry and then I said to Harry I said like oh um you know I would you know i’ be up for playing it or whatever and then I saw on Discord then A few days later Harry was then asking if anybody was around cuz they needed one more player and then I saw a few people jump in and say oh I will I will straight away um so I think he probably just forgot which is fine I kind of like The idea that I don’t have to do another stream tomorrow I can focus on the um I can focus on the uh brandal video and maybe a bit of streaming as well let’s have a look oh yeah we are really close look at this nice also I Need to change that that thing I’m so annoyed at myself by the way I’m pretty sure that I had dipped and black on when I was going over to this screen so I didn’t really know what to expect when doc was saying that this was But really it should have been a dip to White which would have looked a bit more slick look so I didn’t really know what to expect when doc was saying that unlike it’s not like the worst thing in the world what happens to faction hours radio is that still going to happen yes It is I’ve spent far too much money and spent too much time on those Jingles to not carry it on I’m really excited to carry on factional radio that’s going to be something that will continue on through the new year as well and stuff like that I have wanted an excuse for Years upon years now to get back into doing radio so faction hours radio 100% will be continuing without a doubt definitely going to do one before Christmas um that is absolutely on my to-do list um yeah I’d love to do honestly I’d love to do two before Christmas I mean what Dates are we looking at I mean even if I was to do one on say like next Sunday although I don’t know if I’ll be back then I’m away doing something on the Friday we may return on the Saturday so the Sunday is maybe maybe what we could do is we could Do a show on the Monday which is a normal noral show and then do like a Christmas special until say like the 22nd or something that could be fun and then we’ll obviously not do anything for a week or two and then in the new year we’ll do uh a new Show but um yeah so yeah faction radio continuing Pirates SMP on YouTube has maybe five five or six videos left in it uh which I’ll get slowly out over the coming month and then we’ll just kind of go from there so then we go no more Final questions before I go just want to triple check before I go any more law questions anything like that that you’ve Got or are we all good let me just check my transition speed is normal again um bad guy worked nicely in the snp’s favor but we needed somebody to be a villain you know What I mean and I literally said like I think I’m pretty sure even when Owen and Appo first came to me with like that little uh PDF which was like the pitch for pirates S&P I was like dude I know I already want to do a character called blond beard Um yeah it was cool everything fits so well together it’s always best sorry it’s always the best to see the cast intertwin in their stories right yeah it’s really cool and so much of it is done like last minute as well um I think it’s everybody’s very flexible And very you know happy to do what they need to the reason that I had to go at that um that Sunset stone for as long as I did is because Ros needed some more time with the slumber party sleepover so I was basically just waiting and killing Time until Ros was ready to be pulled away from the castle back to town um so yeah it was good it was really really cool trying to think what other we tied into nicely so blond beard worked really well with rosers it worked well with Waters Um I think a lot of people’s law worked well with sausages when he got like uh petrified what other the ones were there trying to think what other law bits there were I mean to be honest it was even fun doing the newspaper because I got to tie In the newspaper with Gracie’s law of Gracie becoming the new faction Elder and like the newspaper kind of i i i concepted the newspaper as being a propaganda piece as well as a vehicle for Owen and Appo to sort of highlight reiterate or megaphone uh law stuff um across the Server for people that miss the events or didn’t quite understand the interpretation of them and stuff like that so again that was another tool that I thought was was fun it worked well um what who else did law even I tell you what even appos as Well you never got to do the radio show dude the radio show is still happening restart the whole s SMP no I’m still I’m still doing the radio show the radio show that would just that would just be the radio show so I’m planning to do that for the foreseeable future Like literally for the next few months minimum um so yeah I will I will 100% get you on cuz I’d be intrigued to know what your music choices are I that’s the one thing I don’t know about you is your music taste so it’ll be interesting to To see what sort of things you pick don’t tell me I want I want to be surprised I’m going to get water on as well I’ve basically got Owen water and uh I think Appo was up for being on it O’s already been on it um I’m sure I Could get a bunch of the Pirates on it once I get into a a place post Christmas and in the new year when life is a bit more normal I can hopefully do it like every Sunday on the dot or pick a day or time and actually have one every single Week um which should be really fun I’m excited to get on the radio I’ve been told I have the face for it dude same so when I said that was going to become a YouTuber they were like but without face cam right you’re going to you’re going to be One of those people that they don’t know what you look like right you just you’re just a voice I was like yeah yeah don’t worry I’m not looking to scar anybody um but yeah even apo’s law tying in where he wanted to either kill AKO or Attempt to kill AKO um that worked out really nicely so I mentioned to Appo that I wanted to form a bit of a crew and um and do that and he was like oh well that’s great and he was like and it was app’s idea he was like well how About I help out at the wedding in some way but I don’t do it quite right and then you tell me that I’m on my last chance and then that’s when you tell me that I need to go and kill AKO um and that’s how that all came About so again that was another last minute improv um which was really cool um trying to figure out all the other law I bet when I look at people’s names I’ll be able to think of what law they did and like how it um how it all kind of interwove let’s have a Look uh where’s the cast obviously Amy got bopped at the very start of the whole thing um AKO what was ao’s law I mean I guess I I I bled into appos which affected AKO um what happened to Beck where did Beck go I know that Beck wasn’t around for the Finale um obviously puffy wasn’t about Michaela was part of the main law Michaela was part of the sort of Ivy taking over Amy thing I don’t think Eric did any I like the bit with scar actually that was actually quite a fun thing me being real tight with the Kestrels and then when everyone was like yeah but what about scar is right here and I was like well he [ __ ] me over on my first day so kind of not bothered you know what I mean that was again just one of those really funny coincidences like It’s even in the thumbnail of the very first Pirates episode look where is it uh look there it is just there it’s literally me holding a banana and Scar smiling at me cuz he scammed me he was my first interaction in the whole s SMP And then he was then like my my way out at the end which was quite funny obviously gucky got got Gracie I had some back and forth with um shepai was never online at the same time as unfortunately but we got to cross over nicely in the finale which was good um Didn’t see JoJo that often Kyle was in the cast with us which was fun sausage was doing his thing which was great um uh Olive um I’ve not seen since the premiere obviously me and olle were inter intertwined a lot me and Owen uh crossed over Owen did me and you Do crossover stuff law wise I know that I wrote about Owen in the newspaper kind of confirming that Owen was missing and I guess Owen wasn’t it speculated that Owen was missing as part of the golden Raiders story line played a chill law story this time Around yeah I think there’s a few little bits and pieces that I would feed through the newspaper um Run’s never saw again uh rods obviously we did loads with Callum was on and off quite a bit um Shelby I don’t remember seeing too much we’re part of Shelby’s intro which Was fun um Scott was knocking about we had you know we we made the dash and dumpling sign for Scott which was cool uh didn’t see sniff Eloise was obviously paper boy for the newspaper which was fun uh tubo we didn’t really see much of water we had music with ruined the Wedding um we were part of Will’s law stream actually will was doing a law stream one day and we was sort of populating town Video Information
