Hey guys the void survivor here today we’re going to look at some basic terrain generation for minecraft 1.8 right here we have a little makeshift mountain now this is a superflat world this obviously wasn’t generated now i will guarantee you that this was not pasted in as you can see that there are Some places for me building it where it’s still dirt and i’ll just show you how to build this using simple commands so first i’ll show you how how this works so we’ll go over here i’ll show you how to set the commands later but let’s show you how to create a Simple mountain so these you only need three command blocks and a clock like this so um let me change a certain command so first let’s build our kind of infrastructure for the inside of the mountain so that we can so that we have a sort of a template to work off of So what you do is you change that to a separate fill command now let’s build that’s a huge that’s a bigger one so a little bit longer but let’s put the mountain habit over here so we can just shoot boop and then oh yes i forgot one thing you do require um I think the command’s a bit wrong sometimes i set it to the wrong value because yeah okay so let’s make it so that it will feel as stone instead so here let’s do it over here and shoot boom and now there’s a stone another stone there boom boom boom Boom and you can keep on and you can perfect this it doesn’t have to be perfect yeah but you don’t take too much time on this step because this is not the good step okay okay so um let’s get the idea of a mountain going around here Um kind of indents kind of awkward um what else is there here let’s round this off a bit um over there however maybe i mean you you can you can go endlessly you can make it diff you can make it better and better and better but Really this is already good so now we have our little flat hill so now we change our brush i want to call it a brush let’s make it a different size so let’s change all these twos to a different number how about one so then it won’t be that big only three by Three compared to the five by five like it is right now then we just go sploosh sploosh and you can make this much rounder which is what you want um it does take a bit of time but it’s much much faster than placing it by hand um yeah so okay So you you could again you can go infinitely with this you can make it you can be super picky if you want but really don’t take too much time on these steps because this isn’t what the stuff that’s this this isn’t the most interesting step oh you minimize if you make a Mistake i guess you can’t either you you destroy it or you just go with it um you can be endless with this design it’s there’s nothing that you can you have no limitation but for the sake of this video i’m just going to skip ahead because this takes a Q this actually takes takes maybe five minutes not that bad though okay so here we go we have a much better looking one now of course we can tweak it nice just just that you add place a couple blocks here and remember that this will be solid so It’s pretty good um it’s not like sometimes i’ve seen designs where it’s just hollow and when it’s hollow let’s say if it’s in if it’s in a if it’s in a adventure map sometimes that’s not good if you want to dig dig in okay so now we have a hill That’s actually pretty quick um again you know i’m gonna repeat that but um yeah save a hill but this is looking pretty stupid so let’s add some grass to it now first of all we’re going to just change the brush to interesting command you’ll understand once i do this but You’re going to set this to the command 8 4 8 4 8 four i think i mean oops eight negative four now what this will do and then instead do grass zero replace gravel now we’ll see why this happens what we do with this so let’s say a little gravel patch here now If you want to turn it to grass we can just go and just go chat pool man that’s all grass so you’ll see why this will help so i forgot to decide um but that’s okay you can take more time than that but okay now we go to the approximate center And we estimate how many blocks it is that way so 10 blocks 10 blocks here so let’s go 10 negative 10 negative and negative 10. make sure you have the kill does otherwise it will go into a completely different space um and just do gravel this will cause Bitter lag you’ll have a bunch of entities but that’s good now you have gravel over okay looks like we’re in the center properly so let’s try that again boom we’re getting closer here to do this four times i’d say one more time okay now we have this horrid looking gravel thing Now that’s okay that’s normal in fact i want to actually just cover up some of this stone because actually not it looks fine by itself now we take our bow and we shoot and it will already be looking much more like a hill hopefully this works sometimes it does it doesn’t always work Perfectly but this technique is pretty fast it helps you lay down all those those blocks very quickly okay now it’s starting to look like a hill it’s again now that looks more like a hill you can make more nice tweaks and make it just exactly how you want it so Now you have the base you have the just five minutes you have the basis tail base base hill and you can round the outsides they will be kind of choppy um my graph like this graphics and whatever um let’s see yeah so you can have some fun just making it the Exactly i want to be but already you have a hill and i really like to bone meal it just because that just makes it look much nicer um makes it look richer um you can already see that that looks nicer even though it’s not completely um it’s not completely uh important It’s not completely bummed but you can see that you can have this is a bigger one um where’s it bigger yeah it’s bigger um steeper a little waterfall that one doesn’t look very good but this one is there’s a little uh plain thing up there um this one is much Bigger this struck on me a lot longer but it it looks pretty epic i mean it might not look that real like especially because this is way too much dirt there’s no stone like ideally there’d be stone here like like kind of like this but it still is looks really cool it looks It’s the exact same technique it’s just scaled up for the first one i used um um actually an eight by eight by eight i mean nine by nine nine square so it looks really nice um yeah so the biggest question probably that you’re thinking right now is not about How you shoot and all that but is probably how all these command blocks work so i’ll quickly review the commands and i’ll show you how to set them up so this first command is slash scoreboard players set addie types t equal to arrow arrow one and then in Brackets in ground colon one b now this is going to be pretty um scary to some of you so let’s go through it step by step slash scoreboards the scoreboard command players players so it just it sets it for entities and players players includes entities sets so it sets um any entity’s score Of at and this entity will be at e type zelda arrow so any arrow in existence and it will set the score of arrow not the score of this arrow itself but of a scoreboard called arrow and then i’ll set that to 1 and it’ll only set it to 1 if the data Tag says that it’s in one in in the ground that’s what this tests for so this one these commands will be in the description oh i actually typed in a z there that won’t work it’s pretty picky the other one actually not this this one’s not very interesting But this one this one will do is slash kill id type of ziggler so it’s going to kill arrows whose score of arrow is two so basically it’s going to keep on setting arrows that yeah so it’s gonna basically kind of add one to arrow score and so if you can see Here if you take a look in the chat if we shoot something boom it will say killed arrow so first it sets it to one which is this then it kills the arrow that basically just dumps it in this one it um executes at every arrow whose score Arrow is one so there’s one difference between this one and this one um it will it will fill a certain area around the around it and it will replace gravel with grass id value zero so this basically is how if you if you do it here this is why if You just shoot shoot it right here nothing happens because there’s no gravel nearby but let’s say we have a gravel block right here and then you shoot it and they turn into grass so that’s how it works so now we need to see how to set all this stuff up So first what i’m going to do is um here let’s make yeah you know what this is a good world so what i’m going to do is i’m going to go slash scoreboard so you can see that these these are the options so first i’m going to delete This you you don’t you won’t do this but um i’m just going to get rid of arrow now first the first the first thing you have to do is slash scoreboard objectives actually tab completion is very useful here now go set not set display add sorry then do at and What is it again so then you add the name so for example for this one we do arrow the criteria type now say dummy that’s kind of funny display name that doesn’t actually really matter just don’t leave it there because it’s in brackets that’s not necessary now to say enter and you Should already see that it should work yeah it already works so it’s pretty simple just those that one command then make a clock that does these three commands um these three commands will be in the description this this one um this one and this one Now one thing to note is that it will save for player 84 f4d629-c0 that’s basic that’s called what’s known as a uuid universal something i i do locate or i don’t know but it basically checks what the euro is so if um it like gives the game what a name to call The arrow so for example you can see here it’s at the score for player you’ll see a player but it’s not actually it’s actually an arrow but what you can do is you can do slash to prove this we can do slash score board um objectives um set display Um sidebar let’s do arrow now you can see that you’re gonna have arrow and you can see that they’re both at one so if you shoot and hopefully when it lands you shouldn’t see it it’ll add it to you now adds if you shoot down boom when it Hits the ground it will add that to the arrow score and then you wait and when it comes all the way down go bang and outside the arrow score so that’s how that’s how it works so yeah i don’t have it like this because it just messed it just looks weird and so Let’s set it something else i’ll say it to list okay what oh whatever oh yeah i i’ll just get rid of arrows for now okay so yeah it’s pretty simple very um very compact there’s very little snow it doesn’t really matter if it’s compact though and You can build huge ones or small ones you can adjust the commands as you wish and so i guess yeah that’s it thanks for watching guys please like comment share
