Original game and adds even more hours of fun and exploration however one thing for me and minecraft that still lacking is the ocean before minecraft 1.30 in the ocean biome was fairly bland and useless with a few squids here and there and 1.8 ocean monuments one of the only

Good additions so far to the sea at that time the 1.13 update aquatic patch added coral reefs ocean monuments and drowned zombies kelp plants sea pickles and sea grass turtles and turtle eggs tried ins dolphins phantoms tropical fish and more a whole extensive list that are pretty much covered completely however all of

These additions are amazing but there is little variations the underwater side of Minecraft for me I think the ocean should be like the overworld with his own collection of biomes and vast networks of levels with both shallow and deep sea sections with unique mobs and both in an effort to make the Minecraft

Underwater experience better I decided to improve the sea by hunting for the best minecraft underwater mods some of which add new mobs fish and improved fishing improve our enhanced animations and add or further build upon biomes without further ado let’s get into the video the first mod I’m going to use is the

Underwater biome now the underwater biome is perhaps the most crucial and important mod in this whole list it serves as the foundation to our mod compendium in this video and vastly enhances the Minecraft underwater experience by a thousandfold it had so much new stuff that is pretty hard to

Cover in itself however I will try my best to provide coverage on it one of the reasons why I wanted to improve the ocean in Minecraft is I wanted it to be more like the overworld with all the different biomes and unique areas well this mod answers my greatest

Prayers by adding brand new ocean biomes each with their respective new structures and entities this is also an adventure mod as it allows for defeating new bosses and finding brand new loot all throughout the mod is primarily inspired by although underwater survival games a style which it definitely brings

To our ocean enhancement pack one of the big games that brought inspiration to this mod was subnautica which is a planetary survival game focused in the waters in the underwater bio mod you can choose to use a brand new world generator called water world which basically makes your entire map an

Expansive ocean with various tiny floating islands and small amounts of land to accompany a’ but mostly the vast seas much like subnautica you are rewarded by exploring biomes and you pick up knowledge by crafting recipes and venturing into new depths of the world literally this knowledge acquired

Is used to unlock the recipes in the mod through an enhancement system to breathe underwater you can create an oxygen tank through learning recipes which can be refilled and expanded there are underwater structures and remains such as abandoned research stations with chesa flew with larger ruins in different biomes each giving different

Blueprints and lutes you can harvest fish by making a knife in turning coral sticks into normal sticks for planks there’s a long progression system and it also has brand new mobs such as drown skeletons which inhabit the Seas to accompany the already pre-existing drowned zombies this is the core to our

Ocean upgrade so definitely check this mod out this is a definite requirement the second mod which were actually going to be using is the mod called aquaculture 2 which expands mainly the fishing system in Minecraft when you’re on a desert island or on stretch of land outside of the ocean

Perhaps you want to fish for food or to relax that’s where this mod comes into play now if you use in the ocean generator inside the previous model which we discussed then there will still be small scattered land masses and islands in the ocean the you can kind of

Jump ashore onto and still fish on so this would still be useful as well as this it adds over 30 brand new fish which can be caught with a fishing rod both moderate or vanilla types of fishing rods or found actually swimming underwater as mobs remember the key to

This ocean update I packaged for this video is to add as many new fish and wildlife as we can and this mod does just that it brings a collection of new fishing rods allowing for the use of hooks and bait for functionality and easier catching a fish you can customize

The rod itself with different fishing lines and bobbers to make it look different and even use a tackle box when fishing this mod supports standard vanilla and also modded biomes adding new types of interesting fish to the rivers oceans and lakes and these fish can also be cooked in Eaton’s food when

Fishing you can catch new shiny loot pieces such as brand new armor called neptunium which also have tools of the same name and it’s a very rare set of items examples of something new fish which are added or bass trout cards black fish herring tuna and more the

Next model is better animals Plus which is a spin-off mod and secondary companion mod to better animals which is an enhancer upon vanilla mobs whereas this mod adds brand new creatures to the world both passive hostile and also some small mini boss mobs however most of these are actually on the overworld and

Actually added on land so you may wonder why I added this mod to our ocean update mod pack well that’s because although it predominantly adds new creatures to the land it also has a fair addition of amazing sea creatures which is why I chose it I won’t cover the many land mobs their

Ads but more so focus on what it adds underwater which is where interest lies in this video this mod adds 5 brand new underwater mobs the first being the shark now the shark is a great new addition to the sea and although some other mods do actually add sharks it’s

Nice for some variation and it’s the predator of most other fish in Minecraft so you see you eat other fish if it swims near it there are one or two mods on this list which do add a shock as well I’m not really sure what the other mod is

That adds the shark but it’s still nice to have multiple types and variations or species to swim around in the waters the great thing about the sharks though it better animals plus is that they’re made out of multiple segments which have great animations they look pretty realistic when they swim and they use

Their fins and it adds a sense of threat to the oceans next up is the lamprey which is a type of eel that’s headed to the game in this mod the lamprey is a jawless fish that is super thin and long and it swims pretty fast in the water

Then there’s the Nautilus which is similar to the upgrade aquatic mod which we’ll cover later the Nautilus is a type of mollusk underwater it mostly moves very slow and looks dazed the fourth mob is the crab which is a red crab that looks pretty realistic I’m not sure why

Minecraft hasn’t added crabs yet but it’s a perfect addition underwater and on the beaches the last is the jellyfish having both small and large jellyfish variants adding more grace to the ocean one thing that’s great about better animals plus is the amount of different colored mob types that it adds if you

Spawn multiple types of one fish which you can test by using the mob spawn eggs sometimes they will spawn in different colors and sizes which is more realistic and something I think is a good enhancement to the game because it makes all of the animals not all look the same

Next up is upgrade aquatic which is a mater has a focus upon improving everything related to the official minecraft 1.13 update of the same name this is a mod which I’m sure most people will be familiar with at this point because a lot of people have covered it

It tries to improve oceans rivers and more through offering brand new content enhancers some of the original game’s features through vanilla tweaks which are adding craftable coral blocks allowing dispensers to buckets and release fish making phantoms only attack players who haven’t slept which is the way that they’re spawned and they can

Also become flares when afflicted with insomnia change conduits enhancing turtle shells by making them provide water breathing but also ramping up their durability lofts making salmon and squids also spawn in swamp biomes and adding items from the mod to the wandering trader NPC the mod nine new coral types Guardian and elder

Guardian spines as well as Guardian eyes which are all dropped from the mobs in ocean monuments a new mob called Nautilus which flees from the player and spawns in deep water is also added and this is the same type of mob which we actually covered in the last mod that I

Was talking about just before this which was better animals plus both mods have a variant of the Nautilus mob it also had embedded a man eye or which spawns in oceans and beaches new bed rolls to sleep in and set your spawn potions beach grass coral stone prismarine coral

Prison marine coral showers a whole host of new planets and underwater scraps and a brand new array of fishes and sea life basically it just adds a ton of blocks namely the sea life additions which are fish are the pike and the lionfish this mod also has a thrashy tooth and

Prismarine rod items now you may wonder what these are these can basically be built used together to craft trident and also make pillar storage blocks that can power conduits all in all upgrade aquatic is a huge enhancement to the minecraft sea biomes which is why it will be including in

This overhaul the fifth mod which I actually chose to use in this expansion is actually seafaring this mod had to take a place on this list of ocean expansion mods because it has a plethora of new additions to the underwater experience in Minecraft it’s one of the more smaller mods in this overhaul

Though be aims to add a collection of brand new fissures both to eat and then naturally spawn in the aquatic ecosystem and environment in order to make surviving underwater that much more immersive now one thing I will cover later in just a few moments is the swimming gear in this mod which as

Swimming gear similar to the underwater bio mod which recovered first however the seafaring equipment is not really understand completely the mod is really nice to improve the sub aquatic exploration side to minecraft because it adds different resources such as mini rocks and salt deposits to the bottom of

The ocean floor which can be harvested and collected making things just seem a little bit more realistic and littering the ocean with random objects which just make it look nicer and more different it also has a wet sponge and when compared punch boxed the ocean which absorb and

Soak up water in a much larger radius than the standard minecraft sponges do making them much more useful it adds fish such as had examined puffer fish Cod and swamp feeder as fishable items to eat in catch as well as adding things like messages in bottles and driftwood as fishable items there’s also

The addition of gold hooks and standard hooks to improve fishing capabilities what I most about this mod is how aims2 had scuba diving gear and oxygen tanks to allow for extended breathing underwater but this is currently a work in progress like I touched on before and some of the items still work textures

The next mod which I’m actually going to feature is the meer pig mod now this mod is more of a novelty mod rather than a requirement it adds a bit more fun to the game and adds an additional mob the mill pig mod basically adds an aquatic

Variant of the pig to the underwater biome by allowing it to spawn randomly in both the ocean and deep ocean biomes the mob can actually swim in the water by herself which is pretty cool however the reason why this little mod is really awesome in a fun addition to our mod

Pack in this video is that you can actually saddle up and ride the mid pick around and even control it if you use the saddle on it you can use it as a mount and when you have a sea grass on a stick item which is equipped you can use

It to steer the pig and have full control using it as an underwater steed to move around quicker the reason why I was impressed with this mod is that it doesn’t just risk in the pig and just throw it in the water it has a whole new

Model with a fin and it has more of an appearance of a shark or a dolphin so it really actually does fit into the environment it’s not just a funny mod so it shouldn’t really ruin the immersion and it should add just a little bit more

Fun to the game now the seventh and last mod which I’m actually adding to this ocean overhaul before we move on to the graphical mods and enhancements is actually the better animations collection to this mod doesn’t specifically add new content to the ocean but I deemed it a worthwhile

Update to the game as it adds better animations and an array of different effects into minecraft in order to make it seem more realistic or to improve physics and moving parts to certain models and mobs in the game examples include the Enderman having bendy arms or creeper swaying from side to side

They approach you when the hostile the thing that makes it a must-have for me in terms of improving the underwater experience in a project in this video though is this he adds various tentacles and bendy ligaments to some of the mops in game we’re more specifically focusing

On how it improves the squids it doesn’t really improve that many mobs but the squids are the most important which we’re covering the squids in normal minecraft don’t really have any kind of impressive animation or appearance but with the better animations collection mod they have better animations on their

Tentacles which are made up of more segments and parts and they move more gracefully like a jellyfish or how a squid should actually look which vastly makes them flow better and they just have a much better swimming animation you’ll really notice the difference when you play with this this is a small

Change and it’s pretty subtle but you can definitely appreciate it when you come across the squids in the oceans and it’s worth a download just to make things look that much more atmospheric and realistic now the last features and upgrades were going to actually take on all the graphical enhancements these are

The final touches and pieces which I’m shown in this video just because I want to show you how everything looks when we improve the actual graphic engine and add things like texture upgrades the last point to talk about and cover in our pack are basically just the final

Touches these are namely the texture changes and enhancements as well as these graphical upgrades which I mentioned the first thing I searched for was an appropriate texture pack or resource pack after installing multiple I decided my favorite was the natural realism pack by SC test which has semi-realistic textures in a 16 x

Resolution making the blocks look slightly better than vanilla while still keeping the Micra feeling for this ocean overhaul I decided to install Optifine with forge to allow for various improvements visually while still running the mods first I turned up the Optifine settings to their max options available and then I enabled all bonus

Animations these included things such as swaying plants moveable animated tree leaves in the wind and more perhaps the greatest addition to the pack by using up to fine is by utilizing the shaders everyone knows that just installing a shader into minecraft makes it look a thousand times better personally I wanted to install

The resource pack as well to make it look even better no longer the shaders I tried many different shaders though however although all were beautiful many of them didn’t really offer much light underwater which is our main focus because we want to actually be able to explore it because of this

Eventually I chose the popular shader BSL shaders by Kappa Tatsu which is a very visually pleasing one and it has new shadows ambient occlusion bloom and better moving clouds as well as anti-aliasing all built in now the best feature which is why most people use shaders for me is the water the water

Has to be good for this conversion because it’s all about the sea it’s not just about underwater is just generally how the water looks as well now the water has real waves and it flows gray and it’s dark be still retains its clarity which is what’s important when

We need to actually dive under and swim it provides good light and visibility underwater which is what was really important which allows for a realistic sort of aquatic adventure these graphical enhancements all-in-all made the game look amazing I have to say that converting the ocean in Minecraft just
