What is up ladies and gentlemen my name is bori and welcome to the bori cast today I’ve got some Minecraft Gameplay playing in the background uh this is a world that some of my friends and I have been working on for about 3 months now um we’re working on a giant project Right now you may see a little bit of it in this video uh but it’s we’re it’s a huge castle we don’t know what we’re doing but it’s a lot of fun so in this video I kind of want to talk about something that I’m really interested in And I think a lot of you are too and that’s Esports uh recently ESPN aired the very first live televised Esports tournament so in case you guys don’t know what I’m talking about Esports is Competitive Gaming so there are competitive games with Call of Duty Halo Starcraft uh I think they do World of Warcraft U they have Heroes of the dorm and heroes of the dorm is actually the game that was being played at this tournament the game was actually between two colleges in UC Berkeley and Arizona State and UC Berkeley ended up taking Home the title but this was really a Monumental time for gaming and professional gaming and Esports in general and this allows us as Gamers to help get across what we like to do what our hobby is something that we’re passionate about and overall I think it was received positively you know there Were a lot of ESPN Riders and a lot of ESPN reporters that tweeted out saying hey this is awesome we don’t know what’s going on but this is awesome and just the fact they made that effort is really exciting and really something that makes me happy and I’m just going to read you Some of the tweets that were kind of trending on Twitter when this was all going on here’s one it says I’d make fun of whatever is on ESPN to but I can’t turn away from it another said turn on ESPN 2 don’t know anything about this Game but I can’t stop watching it you know another said I don’t know what’s happening on ESPN 2 but I can’t stop watching and I want these announcers for every everything see that’s something those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of tweets that that came Out um during this this whole time and it’s it’s really cool to see people exposed to Something That We’re passionate about and and think so positively of it unfortunately though there were some really negative things that were said um especially one that stuck out to me was from the radio talk Show host uh Colin coward I don’t know exactly how to pronounce last name it sounds like coward I don’t know his it’s it’s spelled c w h e r d but he made a comment uh along the lines of if I ever have to uh cover Esports then that will be The day that I quit my job and that wasn’t even the worst of the comments he made another comment that said something along the lines of Esports on ESPN is similar to a gun in my mouth now personally I thought those comments were extremely uncalled for um especially talking about suicide In that manner and completely ridiculing all the people who enjoy gaming and enjoy Competitive Gaming and he really was turning his back on ESPN ESPN made a move to extend their their services to Gamers and air something that they’re passionate about and they have this reporter or this talk show host making Comments like that and I think we’ve hit a time in today’s world where the mainstream media is beginning to catch up with what is Esports and the growing popularity of it and I think it’s important for these talk show hosts and these these internet these internet personalities to Recognize that and it and don’t ridicule something that you don’t understand don’t talk about something in a negative light that you don’t understand and that could be said for anybody in any situation ation now do I blame Colin for his opinion no I believe everybody has the Right to their their own opinion their own beliefs whatever I do believe he should have thought about what he said before he said it you know it really is just one negative comment out of you know millions and millions of positive ones so I believe you know despite what He may think or despite what some others may think there are a lot of people who support Competitive Gaming there are a lot of people who support gaming in general and gaming is just going to get bigger every day it’s going to it’ll I think it’ll eventually become something That you see regularly on on channels like ESPN so that’s kind of the big news that’s been going on in the Esports World um obviously those comments were a bit harsh and I kind of want to let you I wanted to let you guys know how I felt About it um and I’m also interested to see how you guys feel about it so if you want to leave a comment down below um let me know how you feel um also let me know what you think where you think Esports will be in the next 5 to 10 Years obviously um there’s been a substantial amount of growth um and I I think it will continue to grow significantly so thank you guys so much for watching um I plan to release these videos every Tuesdays and Thursdays I plan to start this survival Minecraft series um every Sunday it’ll be called Survival Sundays um within the next couple weeks I’ll let you guys know um so once again thanks for watching this is bori this has been the bori cast and I’m signing off Video Information
