Minecraft Classic; 8 years ago, alpha; 7 years, beta, 6 1/2, release 1.0, 5 1/2 years ago. Minecraft is clearly a pretty old game. And through all of the amazing content we have gotten in that time, every now and then, a glitch or bug creeps into the game that’s just… annoying. And even if it takes a while, Mojang usually squashes these bugs at some point in time. So today, I want to take a look at five bugs that I’m really thankful got fixed. And just a note, in the past, I have made a video about the most significant glitches that got patched, But today’s list will focus on none of those items, because I’m focusing on bugs that I’m really GLAD that Mojang fixed. So anyways, lets go ahead and check them out. ANTVENOM THEME So, lets just launch into this. Number one on my list of favorite bug fixes is the removal of the (BANG) white TNT ghost block. In Minecraft Java versions prior to release 1.3 or so, if you set off a whole bunch of TNT all at once, there was a good chance that a white ghost block would get left behind, Which was just sort of an entity from the lit TNT itself that never disappeared. While this was never a major issue in Java versions of Minecraft, since you could just restart the map, Minecraft Windows 10 and possibly Pocket Edition still have this problem. And it’s actually a permanent issue. If a lit piece of TNT flies outside of a loaded chunk before it explodes, When you re-enter the chunk, the ghost block will stay behind, even if it gets pushed around. Exiting and re-entering the map doesn’t help either. Alright, next up. Mojang, thank you for fixing lighting bugs like this, And this, and ugh, yeah. Over the past couple of Minecraft updates, Mojang has done a really good job of fixing most of the really annoying lighting glitches within the game. Number Three: In Mincraft versions from early alpha all the way through beta 1.7, If you walked more than one hundred thousand (100,000) blocks or so away from the spawn, the math that determined how Minecraft worlds loaded as you walked around them got less and less precise. And, as a result, got a lot more jittery. If you want to know more about this, as well as some of the other limits of Minecraft, check out the video I have linked above. But from Beta 1.8 and onwards, this issue was completely fixed, at least for the player. If you try to do something like detonate TNT near the world border, You can still see some of these misalignment issues, but it’s not that major of an issue. Number four, I’ve gone over in past videos, so I’ll make it quick. From Beta 1.8 all the way through release 1.6, Minecraft had an infinite ocean problem. On most world seeds, if you traveled more than twenty thousand (20,000) blocks or so away from the center of the world, eventually, you would encounter oceans that went from there, all the way until the world border, with very few islands in between. While it wasn’t necessarily a glitch or a bug in and of itself, it certainly felt like one. And rounding off the list, number five was an issue that occurred underwater. In old versions of the game, if you took drowning damage, there was a good chance that If you were trying to swim up to the surface, each tick of drowning damage would knock you back down so hard, that there was no chance that you would make it out alive. These days, however, I don’t think you take any knockback damage at all from drowning. Making it possible, once again, to get out alive. Alright, and that just about covers this topic for now. If there’s any items that you guys have in mind that I didn’t cover with this video, feel free to let me know in the comment section down below.
