Hey guys welcome back to another video today i’m going to be showing you the iris shaders mod and this is a pretty new mod that is going to give you the best performance you can get right now in minecraft with shaders and like i said this is a pretty new mod so it’s Going to have a couple drawbacks but in the future this is going to be the best way you can play with shaders i would already say for the most part it is it truly is an amazing mod and anyways let’s go ahead and get into the video so Just for starters the reason this mod gives you such amazing performance is because it’s built off sodium and in case you don’t know what sodium is it’s essentially the best performance you can possibly get in minecraft when you install the sodium mod you can find your Fps doubled tripled even more and i’m a huge fan of optifine i literally always use it but when it comes to pure just fps boosts sodium blasts it out of the water but one of the biggest features optifine has always had on sodium is the ability to use shaders there’s just so Many different shaders out there you can play around with all with their own different styles and really shaders are some of my favorite mods out there and so naturally i always have optifine installed but the iris shaders mod could truly change that and first i’m going to be showing you a performance comparison Between optifine and iris shaders simply by comparing the fps in this first comparison i’ve selected the jungle has its one of the laggiest biomes in the game and both of these are recorded at 4k just to keep things consistent and first up we have optifine at 32 render distance using the complementary shader And you can see we’re sitting at about 45 to 50 fps and this is pretty good although as you’re about to see iris is going to easily beat this number and now i’ve loaded up iris shaders in the exact same location and i’m sitting at about 70 fps now so in this particular Instance this is an over 30 performance gain over optifine when using shaders and this is with the exact same settings same resolution and nothing has been changed but the mod here’s another comparison between the two once again starting with optifine and this time we’re in a badlands biome and with Optifine we’re sitting around 70 fps which is a really good number actually but once again iris is going to easily beat it and as you can see on the other hand with iris we’re sitting around 120 fps which is very good especially with shaders at 4k at 32 render distance and Iris doesn’t just run at a higher fps it also loads everything incredibly quickly just for starters here’s a comparison of loading chunks with optifine versus iris first here we have optifine and as you can see when we load into the game it kind of takes a while to load all of the Chunks in fact it takes quite some time and this is especially noticeable when you’re playing at higher render distances it just really seems to struggle but on the other hand once you run this with iris it loads the chunks pretty much instantly your frame rate Does drop for a second as it loads the chunks but once it’s done with that the game is buttery smooth and another thing you might realize with this mod installed compared to optifine is it switches between shaders quite a bit faster once again in this first clip While using optifine you can see it takes quite a bit of time to switch between shaders this can be anywhere from at 5 to 20 seconds depending on what shader you’re changing from but it does take a decent amount of time with iris installed however this change is Done in literally like a second so if you find that you’re constantly switching between shaders this is going to save you a lot of time when you don’t just have to sit on loading screens and yet another cool feature with the iris shaders mod is you can quickly toggle Shaders on and off using a hotkey so now if you find yourself in a situation you’d rather not have shaders you can just quickly turn them off now as i mentioned before this is still a new mod so there’s quite a few things it can definitely improve on and most notably a Large chunk of shaders won’t work quite right with this mod the three that i found work the best are complementary seuss renewed and silvers and of these three i would especially recommend complimentary because even regardless of optifine or iris i think this one is absolutely amazing really it’s easily One of my favorite shaders out there it looks incredible and runs quite well it’s the shader i’ve been using for essentially this entire video and i really can’t recommend it enough and one other feature the mod is missing is the ability to customize shaders and this is Something you can do with optifine when you click shader settings and it allows you to activate things such as depth of field or just general presets to make it look a bit better or perform better and this is definitely a setting iris needs to implement at one point because being Able to customize your shader is pretty vital at least for me but anyway regardless of the fact that this mod is pretty new it is missing a couple features it’s still easily the best performance you can get from shaders in minecraft currently and in the future Has a very good chance of being the go to mod when it comes to playing with shaders it really does have so much potential and i’m very excited to see where this mod goes that’ll do it for this video and if you’d like to check Out this mod you can find it in the description below and let me know what you thought in the comments personally i think it’s an amazing mod but i’d love to know what you guys think and anyway if you enjoyed this video be sure to leave a like comment and subscribe and Until next time thanks
