So get ready to experience some chills and thrills, friends, with our list of the top 10 scary minecraft mods! 10 The John Mod The John Mod is one that’s been kicking around for a while. Essentially, it creates three different types of ‘John’ mobs, along with the addition of new items and animations. The John mob is this fellow; a white hostile monster who has a nifty little mouth on its chest, a titled head, and some fun blood dripping from it’s eyes. Yeah, creepy stuff. The three types that can spawn are the baby John, the John and the mega John, otherwise known as the giant John. The baby John is the most common, and spawns in packs of 5 or 6. They’re fast, and can do a decent amount of damage to your character. The John type is bigger and does even more damage, 6 and a half hearts typically. It spawns during the day time. And the giant John is arguably the scariest of the bunch; as it’s name suggests, it’s incredibly big. The rarest the three, it emits a cacophony of horrible noises, and will render itself From a far distance away – you might even hear it before you see it. The Johns will drp something called immortality gems, which can be crafted into an immortality blade, which is stronger than a diamond one. 9 Herobrine mod What would our list be if we didn’t include A mod based off of the scariest, most viral Minecraft creepy pasta there is? The hero brine mod makes that internet urban legend come to life in your game, and not only brings hero brine to life, but a ton of other deadly events surrounding him too. For starters, hero brine spawns rarely, and if you get too close to him, he vanishes. Initially, they act as if they were any other player, and will run to you unannounced, often making for a good jump scare. Compared to some of the other mods on our list though, this one feels more novelty; A fan service to those who really adore the creepy pasta, and really, it’s those players that will enjoy it the most. 8 Weeping Angels Mod The Weeping Angels mod is an eerie one. Inspired by the alien race that appears in the tv show Doctor Who, the Weeping Angels Are terrifying conceptions that are not only tough to kill, but can even teleport you up to 5000 blocks away. Essentially, it places creatures that look like stone angels who will follow you around at night and attempt to attack you. If you spot them though, they freeze, becoming immobile. But here’s the kicker. They begin to move again as you wander away. They only operate in dark places, so either at nighttime or in caves, and will attack light sources. They even spawn in the snow, which is indicated with an arm emerging from the ground. The only way to take them out is to either swing at them with a pickaxe, which can be tricky, or to use a chronodyne generator. 7 HorrorWeen If you’re a fan of classic horror films, this one’s for you. HorrorWeen takes a slew of monsters and killers from horror films the likes of Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th and tosses em into your game. This includes Freddy Kruger, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Jason Voorhees, Hellspawn, a werewolf and a vampire. In addition to that, a cabin and six variant gravestones are added into your world, along with some new weapons; a shot gun and a pistol. And the Halloween theme and Jaws theme are thrown in there too for some great horror themed soundtracks to keep you on your toes while you’re trying to survive. 6 Horror Pac Man Want a mod that will effectively ruin your childhood and have you terrified to play classic arcade games, all at once? Then the horror pac man mod is for you! This one takes the iconic video game character and distorts him into a ravaging beast whose only goal in its existence is to hunt you down and devour you. The worst part is, this monstrous version of Pac Man can use it’s tongue to reel you In, chew you up, then spit you out, which also results in some serious fall damage. He also has toxic spit, which will slow you down and poison you. It runs on a hunger system, so fear not, it won’t relentlessly hunt you down; once he’s Full, he’ll fall asleep for a brief amount of time. 5 Amnesia Brute Mod Here we have a mod inspired by another video game, the horror hit Amnesia. Those familiar with the game will know all about the servant brutes; terrifying monsters That are a dangerous type of gatherer that exist in the game, who deal out the most damage to your protagonist Daniel. Because you are unarmed in the game, the only way to deal with them is to run away and hide from them. Back to Minecraft though – this mod will include the brutes in your game, adapting their grotesque aesthetic. Similar to Amnesia, they rarely spawn, which further creates an element of surprise when you do encounter them in the mod. 4 Stalker Creeper The Stalker Creeper mod adds one of the most Terrifying mobs to your game. So, let’s have some context – the Creeper, a four legged creature that patiently waits to ambush you in biomes that have less than a level 7 light, is arguably one of the scariest mobs in the game. When you come into contact with one of these monstrosities, you’ll explode. The only way to kill them is if you sneak up on one, but that is no easy feat. Now, what this mod does is it takes the creeper and makes one slight simple change to it’s behaviour; it gives it the ability to stalk you, following you whereever you go. This means no, you can’t hide; it will inevitably find you, and you’ll just have to do your best to react fast and avoid getting blown up by them. 3 Creepypastacraft Creepy pastas have taken the internet by storm for years now; in case you’re out of the loop, they’re essentially digital urban Legends, horror stories crafted online that initially spread by being passed around forums and other websites by users. The name comes from the term copy pasta, which is slang for a block of text that gets copied and pasted over and over again. Some creepy pastas are more popular than others, from Slender Man to Jeff the Killer. And this mod tosses creepy pasta characters like Jeff the Killer into your Minecraft game with you. If you’re a fan of creepy pastas and are looking for a good scare, this mod should be right up your alley. 2 PT Silent Hills Mod PT, aka Playable Teaser, was a teaser for a first person psychological horror game developed by Kojima Productions that was released on the playstation store back in 2014. It was meant to be the next instalment in the Silent Hill franchise. Directed by Hideo Kojima in collaboration with film director Guillermo del Toro, the title, despite its brevity, quickly became one of the most critically acclaimed horror games of all time. It consisted of players walking through a suburban home, a hallway that was on loop But constantly changed, filled with supernatural horrors and puzzles that the player had to solve. The game was cancelled, and taken down from the playstation store, causing outrage amongst fans. Since, gamers have attempted to recreate PT with fan made games, and this mod is one of those attempts, except with a Minecraft spin. The mod is essentially the entirety of PT recreated, with over 3000 command blocks within the game. For obvious reasons, it’s a single player only mod and map. 1 The Slender Man Mod Inspired by the viral sensation creepy pasta Turned urban legend, the Slender Man mod is exactly that, but spun into Minecraft to give players an immersive experience that mirrors the horror stories about the gaunt tall character that we’ve become so familiar with. With the mod installed, if players happen to attract Slender Man, they’ll receive A system message stating that he’s found you. It then becomes a mad race to flee the area before he gets to you – you have fifty seconds to do so. Otherwise he’ll follow you until he kills you, or you kill him. If you stare at him, your character will become blind with an effect that can only be described as simulated nausea for the duration of a handful of seconds. Oh, and during that, Slender Man will try to off you. It’s not just that though; the environment around you becomes reactive as well, to an Extent, with light sources breaking, along with glass and doors. Of course, you can kill Slender Man, but having anything less than a diamond sword equipped to do it will make the task next to impossible. Video Information
