Top 3 Minecraft Sugarcane Farms

I’m going to show you the top three minecraft sugarcane farms and how to build them we’re going to look through what resources are required to build each farm and how much sugarcane each farm produces and we’ll decide which one is the best fit for your survival world almost 90 percent of

These in your base while you’re off doing other things like mining will generate just enough sugar cane for you to get by we’ll begin by placing the chest we want our sugar cane to end up in we’re going to put a hopper pointing into the back of that and see the

Nozzles right there put a rail on top of this with a piece of sand on top of that rail then a hopper minecart in between them just like this so now let me build up on top of the sand real quick we’re going to need our let me fill my

Inventory we’re going to put a piece of stairs out back just like this pointing towards the sand and we’re going to put signs on each side of this excuse me and you can break these two blocks underneath real quick if you want and then you can fill the stair with

Water and you can see it won’t pour out anywhere because of the way the stair is and the way the signs are etcetera let me get some more things so i’m gonna put sugar cane on the sand now to put a block on top of the stairs a piston

Facing towards us and now let’s build out around the side up here and put a block behind the piston and observe it with the red dot facing towards you so you can see the little face is looking at the sugarcane i’m gonna put a piece of redstone dust

On the back and we’re going to break this block and let’s place some final glass first we’re just going to surround the sugarcane with three high layers of glass or full blocks if you don’t care to look at it just to make sure that you don’t lose

Anything our next design is very similar to the first design it costs a lot more resources but produces almost 50 times more sugarcane at 100 sugarcane per hour this farm will provide you with more than enough sugarcane for the rest of your survival world we’ll begin by once again placing

Our output chest just like last time with the hopper feeding into the back just like last time now whatever direction you want to be the end i’m going to have it closer to this way and going a long ways that way we’re going to have a block

And then a redstone block just like this and then we’re going to go 14 more blocks so one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen and then another block of redstone just like this we’re going to have an end cap like that and we’ll have another

Right on this side end cap right here and now we’re going to place these powered rails all across you don’t have to use all powered rails it’ll just make it faster there you go that should be good enough now we’re going to have a three block gap in the middle

So one two three and we’re gonna make another stop just like this and whoops we’re going to build the exact same thing so let me place my chest here hopper here and let’s build on all right so next up we’re going to get our sand and we’re going to place

A piece of sand on top of every one of these rails just like this and they will float because that’s how minecraft works so let’s just finish all the way across here alright that’s all the sand going to build up on top of here we can

Drop the one for now i’m going to get my oak stairs we’re going to go on the inside i’m going to place a stair like this sideways curve it in like this and they’re going to make a path all the way along the end with the stair step facing towards the center

So now once you have your stairs just like this you want to build a quick little water source i’m just going to make it one by three like this right here just to make sure we can easily grab all of our water so let me just

Do this real quick i’m going to go all the way through and fill each individual stair with the thing of water and once you’re finished all you have to do is block this up and you can break all your blocks and everything’s fine all right so next

Up is to get our normal pistons and our observers we’re going to place a layer of blocks on top of the water stairs just like this all the way across let me get some more right here bonus key hot tip if you run out of blocks you

Can use your pick block button which is usually metal click to pick it i don’t know why i use my inventory there i’m gonna place a row of pistons facing towards you just like this all the way across i should say facing towards the sand

Build back up here and do the same on the other side just like this let’s get back up now we’re going to get our redstone dust we’re going to get a row of blocks in between these pistons just like this and then we are going to cover it in the redstone

Dust very fun very fun just like that and now you want to get your observers and place them on top of each piston so that this red dot faces towards the redstone dust or alternatively so the little face will look at where the sugar cane is

All right once you have that you can grab your sugar cane and you can crouch down and start trying to place it all along the sand and once you have that done all we got to do next is place some glass on the outside and make sure you completely cover your

Sugar cane just like this and you can go pretty quickly if you can find a good angle whoops pretty quickly pretty quickly pretty quickly yay look at that look at that look at that i’m gonna bring this up two more we’re just gonna go like this all the way backwards

And now we need to do the same thing on the other side ran out of blocks all right i have everything caught up i’m going to break these two end blocks because they’re not necessary but of course you can leave them if you want i’m gonna break these blocks and i think

That’s all our excess it’s not all we got to do to finish this one is get our minecarts and put them on the edge next to these full solid blocks so they start going and alternatively if you’d rather have one single chest in the middle you can put it right here

Put a hopper facing into the back two facing into the sides right here two facing into the sides right here here’s my pick block button i mentioned i’m gonna put the rails back over these hoppers now i’m going to need to remake my minecarts like this because i had to break them and

Water pour it everywhere you know how it goes you know how it goes i’m actually going to fix that first let’s place this with some sand and replace this with some sand and that didn’t work replace this with sand wait no i need the rails okay rail on hopper

Brake block sand okay we got it yeah and now they would both point into the single chest in the middle oh wait i gotta put these back whoops i’m also done we don’t need this here we can just we can just literally just put the chest right in the middle there you go

And of course if you ever get tired of the sound of these minecarts all over in your base you can swap these redstone blocks for whoops not again you can swap the redstone block for a block with a lever on it there you go that’s what i meant to do last time so

Let’s do the other one properly you break the block you put the water in there you remove the water you break the stuff the sand falls but that’s okay because you remove the water you put the block there you get the lever you put the

Lever there you turn it on you get the the rails you put the rails there you get the sand you put the sand there you break the glass you get the sugar cane uh why won’t the sugar came place the sugar cane needs the water you get the water back out of

The ground then you place the sugarcane then you get the glass and then you go over here you turn this on but the the minecart stops so you stop them you get the mine cart you put you put the minecart in to the the hopper in the minecart you put it

Here you wait for it you time it and bam perfect timing if you need a lot of sugarcane as quickly as possible then this next design is for you at over 600 sugarcane per hour this farm is by far your best bet so we’re going to start by digging a

By 16×4 hole in the ground with a 16 by 3 hole in the center of that and once you have that finished you’re gonna go to the bottom corner down here you’re going to place chests all along the back wall and of course this will be 16 so you’ll have eight

Double chests all lined up like this you’re going to place a hopper pointing down into each one of these and you can see if i f5 they’re all pointing down into the chest just like that let me go across here and now we’re going to need a retaining wall

Around the back just like this so let’s bring that all the way across to there and let’s line and let’s run a line of redstone dust along the top just like this and this will allow us to turn on and off the collection system whenever we

Want so now we’re going to run a line of rails all the way the length of the farm so let’s start with one side so the rails connect properly we’re going to place a powered rail on top of the hopper right here we’re going to place one two three four

Five six seven eight nine ten single rails we’re going to break a block and then one two three four five six seven eight nine ten and then break a block again and now where we broke these blocks we’re going to place these blocks of redstone and we’re going to move these all the

Way the width of the farm which should be another 16 right here so let’s fill these in and then we’re gonna do the same down here so one two three four fives that can’t count as breaking too fast we’re gonna go down to here and oh whoops you know

No i’m not gonna leave that it’s ugly let’s uh ah no put the dirt here and let’s fill this back in with redstone blocks just like this and now to make sure your rails align properly you want to place a rail on top of these power ones so that this whole

Line is done and then once this line is done you can do another line if you try to do them back and forth you will get them mixed up and they will start pointing at each other and it will be very hectic to deal with so just make sure you quickly do just

Want to place a entire row of blocks on top of these they can be pretty much any normal solid block just like this and then you want to find the center which will be about eight blocks in and on one side it doesn’t matter which you want to bring it out

One more just like this so now at the very end over the powered rails you want to make another line all the way across and then at the opposite end you’ll want to extend it again so i did it on that side so now i’m gonna do it on this

Side two three four five six seven eight now we’re gonna make another wall behind the rails back here and then i can hop up and show you just exactly what it looks like you can see it’s extended out on that side and it’s extended out on this side

Next we just need to fill in the entire thing with dirt or preferably grass if you have it so it looks better doesn’t really matter sadly these types of farms have all been covered by so many people over so many years that i genuinely can’t find who originally

Invented these so if you guys actually know please let me know in the comments and i’ll be sure to favorite it or something and once you finally have all of your dirt filled in should look like this we’re going to make a layer of solid blocks all around the outside so now once

You’re caught up we’re going to need to build the things that send our flying machine back and forth so we’re going to start on the side with the chests and on this first dirt block i guess the last one before it transitions like right on this edge right here

I’m going to place a furnace at the front of that with a redstone torch on the side with the block and a furnace on top of it so it should look like this gonna have a redstone repeater face away at a four tick delay going to have an observer facing the

Opposite direction towards the other end of the farm you should be able to see the face from the center of the farm then we’re going to put a lever on the back of this furnace and how this works is when our flying machine runs and comes into contact with this

If the lever is off the flying machine will just stop and wait but if the lever is on it will just start bouncing again so we want to leave this side off and we want to build the same thing at the other side but leave this one on so let me finish

This real quick repeater four ticks block observer place these and then the lever and again we want to leave this one on so now we need to build the flying machine itself we’re going to start by having an observer that looks at this redstone repeater just like this

A slime block behind it and then a sticky piston looking at that slime block just like this you can see little arrows pointing towards the slime block now we need the reverse so we’re gonna have a sticky piston then a slime block then an observer and you can see if i

Hop on top right here it’s these six blocks you can see it’s the exact opposite on both sides so now we’re going to bring out our slime block one two three four five six and then an extra block at the end i’m actually going to use glass

Just so it looks a little nicer and then again one two three four five six and then an extra block at the end and now if this lever is up and that lever is down we should flick this and the flying machine should start traveling all right we’re headed over to this side

And this lever is on so when it hits this it should bounce back immediately all right and since we left that lever off actually no wait i think i left it on yes i did okay let’s flick that off and now it stops perfect so in order to

Plant our sugar cane we need to place a really weird pattern of water all along here just to make sure we can fit the most amount of sugar cane we can so we’re going to go to the opposite side from the collection system and in this little dirt corner right

Here the one that’s in the most corner see how that one’s extended the dirt corner up here we’re going to skip one and then place a slab at the bottom just like this and now from this slab we’re going to go up one and over two place another slab up one

Over two you’re going to make a line out of this all the way across the farm so again i’m continually going up one and over two just like this we’re going to go back to the first one we’re going to go to the opposite direction right one

Up two make another slab and then from this spot we’re going to do the same pattern as before whoops i did i just meant to click we’re going to go up one over two once again and i get that this is very complicated but hopefully you’ll be able just to

Copy this and everything will be fine so don’t worry it’ll be okay and then once you finish these two lines you’ll have these diagonal lines right here and we want to copy this pattern all the way along to that direction and to this direction so in order to do that

We’re going to start the same thing but every five blocks so back to this first block we’re going to skip one two three four then place the slab one two three four place the slab one two three four place the slab one two okay then i ran into the flowing machine here

So now we’re gonna go back to this block one two three four place it on the fifth one two three four place it oops i fell on the thing and make sure you don’t fall in the thing one two three four and then this one’s right here is

Perfectly under the flowing machine so now i’m just going to extend this four blocks in every direction if i wasn’t able to explain it clearly enough feel free to pause this and just copy it exactly so once you’re done you should finally have this really weird grid

Of like a bunch of diagonal lines from all the directions but it is pretty much optimized to make sure you can put sugar cane on every block aside from a couple of the corner spaces just because there’s walls there but so what we’re going to do is we’re

Going to make an infinite water source right here just like this now we’re going to place water inside of every one of these slabs so give me like 16 days and i should be done and of course feel free to make as many water sources as you need just to speed up the

Process so we’re almost ready to plant all the sugarcane we just need to do two quick last things one of them is to make a glass wall all around the outside so the flying machine doesn’t just launch sugarcane into the distance instead of collecting it but when making the glass wall you want

To make sure you put it all along the stone right here just to make sure that you don’t accidentally touch the slime blocks of the flying machine otherwise you will connect to it and break it so just be very careful only to place it on the stone edges and not anywhere

Touching the flying machine right here i’ll give you another example yeah just like not on this dirt because that would touch there and of course if you ever need help with any of the builds in any of my videos i do have a discord you can join in the

Description and i’m actually going to have a world download for this down there as well so i have my hopper carts you just want to place one in each spot on these rails right here and get some more just like this one two three four six eight nine and then two more

One two just like that and now it is time to plant our sugar cane so what we’re going to do this is really complicated real complicated guys we’re going to place the block jump on top hop in here so now you see everywhere from where the flying machine is not

You want to plant as much sugarcane as you can however you want to make sure that you are not anywhere in the two center blocks where the flying machine goes right here so if it helps you make a line that’s just on the outside of that

Like here and you want to make sure everything on this side of the line and everything on this side of the line is filled in another thing i’d like to mention real quick is that a lot of you request videos i already have so if you’re looking for anything in

Minecraft make sure to browse through the channel first because i probably already have a video on it so make sure that when you’re planting your sugarcane you don’t place any against this back wall since the flying machine won’t hit the back wall because it can’t touch

The glass so make sure that both of these sides don’t have any sugarcane but other than that we are pretty much finished we’re just going to exit out of here uh let’s break these blocks we left over here and we just need to connect our lever to

The redstone so let’s put a block get some redstone so now let’s say we did game rule random tick speed 800 just to grow some sugar cane real quick let it all grow let it grow let it grow okay now put it back to the normal three and

Let’s give it a test we flick our lever the mine carts start going the flying machine starts going everything’s happy we’re all happy everyone’s happy please don’t cry i’m still crying anyways right before it comes back we’re gonna flick this lever again just to make sure that the minecarts

Collect everything and let’s see how much we got per chest looks like oh there’s a block in this one just from that time right there it looks like we got about half a stack in every chest a little bit less
