Hey guys, today we’re going to look at some Vanilla plus styled mods. These are classed as mods which enhance the Vanilla experience, only making smaller changes to the base game. I’ve covered a lot of these mods before, so if you’re a longtime watcher of my channel, This video might not offer a lot of new content. This video was designed around Minecraft 1.16.5 using Forge, but I’ll leave a link to some Fabric mods down below too. I’ll turn this video into a downloadable mod pack too, so you can just click and play. The first mod that I’m going to mention is Quark. It offers tons of features, like feeding troughs which allow animals to feed themselves to enter love mode, and Obsidian Pressure Plates which only activate when players walk on them. The mod also adds some new decorative Blocks like Framed Glass, Hedges, and new types of Item Frames. There are new filters on Chests which help you quickly sort items and different texture variants for them. There are so many more different features included with the mod, like new mobs and other tweaks. A similar mod is Charm, which also adds lots of smaller features. You’ll find Blocks of Ender Pearls, Sugar and Gunpowder which can now be crafted. Whereas new styles of blocks include Bookcases which can store books, Crates which can store items and different Variants for Barrels, Chests and Bookshelves. Mobs will now have more random textures, with some new additions being the Mooblooms and Coral Squid. There’s many more small changes, and I’d recommend reading the entire features list. A great building mod is Chisel and Bits. Using a Chisel, you can repeatedly chip away at Blocks, making them have a more 3D appearance if you’d like, or you can use the bits to create new shapes and designs. I also like to use the Saw, which can be used inside a Crafting Table to repeatedly cut blocks into smaller sizes. Extra Boats will add some new types of Boats, such as this one which can hold a Chest, allowing you to carry extra items around. There’s also the Furnace Boat, which can receive Coal in order to increase the speed of the boat. Finally, there’s the Large Boat, which can Hold 4 entities at once, making them great for multiplayer servers, or for transporting mobs throughout your world. By right clicking on a boat with a Banner, you can even add decorative sails. GUI Clock adds a small HUD element when a Clock is in your inventory. It shows the time In your world, but can also be configured to show the real world time, as well as the day number you’re currently on. Likewise, there’s GUI Compass. With a Compass in your inventory, you’ll have your current coordinates displayed on the screen, as well as the direction that you’re facing. Both Of these mods can be configured so that it displays without the item in your inventory. Repurposed Structure is a mod I’ve mentioned a few times. It makes changes to lots of Minecraft’s structures, giving them some new themes depending on the biome they spawn in, which makes a Lot more sense. The mod also adds some new structures too, such as the Jungle Fortress, Giant Boulders and Nether Cities. Spiders 2.0 makes some quality of life changes to Spiders. Now their animations will be changed, so that they can walk along ceilings and walls properly, while also having improved AI which Should allow them to navigate obstacles easier. Advanced Shulker Boxes simply allows you to open a Shulker Box by right clicking while holding it, instead of the usual method of having to place it on the ground first. The Tool Belt is useful for holding your tools, and freeing up some inventory slots in the Process. You can craft the Tool Belt, and then upgrade it using Pouches in an Anvil, which increases the number of items it can store to a maximum of 9. With the press of the R key, you can quickly switch between tools, so you don’t have to scroll through your hotbar. Cosmetic Armor Reworked allows you to wear two sets of armor at once. One set of armor will give you stats, and the other will be equipped solely for appearance, meaning you can have the stats of Diamond Armor, while it might look like you’re wearing Leather instead. Carry On allows you to pickup and transport single block entities. To do so, you should sneak and right click an entity to pick it up, and then you can move it around. It will work on blocks like Chests, Crafting Tables, Furnaces and even some animals like Pigs and Wolves. Snow Real Magic makes some changes to snow, with the first change being that it can now be placed on the same block as Fences, Walls and Tall Grass. It will also have the same physics as sand, accumulate during snow storms and falling on snow will give you reduced fall damage. Botany Pots are new blocks which can grow Crops. You’ll need to place the correct type of Soil inside, as well as your Seeds. You can speed up the growth process using Bone Meal, and when you harvest your crop, the seed will automatically be replanted. Tumbleweeds can be found flying through Deserts, with them not looking out of place. You can harvest them to collect drops like Bones, Sticks, Seeds with a rare chance to receive some minerals. FindMe is incredibly useful, as it allows you to search your containers for items. By Hovering over an item and pressing the Y key, particle effects will appear on any matching inventories which contain that item, and it also has support for Just Enough Items. Comforts adds two new items, which are the Sleeping Bag and the Hammock. They can both Be dyed all different colors, and will allow you to change day to night, and night to day, When you rest in them, a spawn point won’t be set, making them great for exploring with. A good biome mod is Biomes of Plenty, which makes changes to the Overworld and Nether. It transforms your world, while still making it feel alot like regular Minecraft. By adding over 70 new Biomes, you’ll find that your world is a lot more interesting to explore, with tons of new colors too. With all the new trees spawning, you can create different planks and other decorative blocks. Supplementaries adds lots of new blocks, many of which have animations. There’s Hanging Signs, which can have Signs or items placed on them, and they’ll swing back and forth. You can use Notice Boards to display information, as they can receive a Book and Quill. Wall Lanterns are new decorative blocks too, which will also swing. Signposts are like regular signs, except you can change their orientation to point towards locations. Some other blocks includes Jars, Cages, Globes, Safes and Doormats. Another mod which adds some new items is Decorative Blocks. With it, you’ll find lots of items Which would be great in an underground dungeon-like build. It includes Braziers, Thatch Roofs, Chandeliers and Stone Pillars. All the blocks look great, and fit many different themes. Inventory Hud Plus makes some changes to how information is displayed. Firstly, you’ll Be able to see your entire inventory when playing, and you can configure where it’s displayed. When you have different status effects, they’ll also be displayed differently, with the level and time left both being visible. One of the most useful features is that you Can see all the items you have equipped, as well as their durability. Oh My Gourd adds 24 variants to Pumpkins and Jack o’Lanterns. To switch between them, all you need to do is use Shears on these blocks. Inspirations adds lots of smaller features. Starting with building blocks, you’ll find Bookshelves which store Books, new types of Paths as well as Glass Doors. Some changes are made to Cauldrons, so that they can hold other fluids like Dyes, Potions and Milk, and you can interact with them. Charged Arrows can be used to emit a Redstone pulse, and The new Crook tool increases the chance to receive Saplings when breaking leaves. There’s even more to this mod, like Colored Portals and Fitted Carpets. Project Vibrant Journeys will add lots of ground cover. You’ll come across Rocks, Twigs, Bones, Pinecones and more, most of which can be harvested to give you resources Which is especially useful early game. SlimyBoyos will allow Slimes to pickup items, which you’d expect them to do anyway. When killed, they’ll drop these items again. ToroHealth Damage Indicators will show the health of an entity when you hover over it, Either in the form of a frame in the corner of your screen, or a small health bar above the entity. You’ll be able to see the amount of damage you deal, and how much health it has left. Horse Carts can be attached to Horses, allowing Them to dragged around. The first is the Supply Cart, which has a double chest inventory and has space for a friend to sit on the back. The Plow Cart can be used to either fertilize dirt, or to create paths instead. Finally, there’s the animal cart, which can be used To carry other players or mobs. Croptopia adds over fifty ground crops, 23 crops and over a hundred new food recipes. Some of the new crops include Raspberries, Blueberries, Cabbage, Kiwis and more. To get started with the mod, it would be a good idea to create the Recipe Book, which has everything You need to know. This next mod will add Target Dummies, which you can use to test how much damage your weapon deals. They’ll display the amount of damage received, and they can also be equipped with armor. Reap can be used to make harvesting crops easier. When you right click on a fully grown Crop, it will be harvested, and the seeds will automatically be replanted. Sapience makes some nice changes to Piglins. They’ll now have a reputation system, where if you get it high enough, you’ll no longer have to wear Gold around them, and be able To open Chests and mine Gold freely. Piglins will automatically pickup nearby food and start breeding if they can. And when Piglins receive Gold, they’ll store it in their inventory, and over time, they’ll use it to create armor and weapons not only for themselves, But other nearby Piglins too. They’ll now accept Gold Nuggets, Gold Blocks and other Gold items for trading, emit particles and more. Additional Banners will add some new Banner Patterns. Some of them include Anchors, Dragons, Snowflakes, Pumpkins and Mushrooms, making them useful for some base designs, and they’ll work nicely with the next mod. Bedspreads allows you to make your beds in Minecraft more customizable. Now you can right click them with Banners, which will be applied to them. Falling Leaves is a client side mod that will add more ambience to your world, as you’ll Now notice leaf particles falling from leaves. You can configure which blocks drop leaves, as well as the frequency. Chipped is relatively new, adding some new Workbenches. When you interact with them, you can input blocks to convert them into over 2000 new designs, which includes new variants of Wool, Glass, Bricks, Wood and more. Subterranean Wilderness makes Caves more unique and interesting to explore. They’ll have different biomes, such as Icy, Fungal, Mossy and Desert Caves. Although a feature that I really like is that you’ll find huge cave entrances spawning on the surface. You can add some furniture to your world with MrCrayfish Furniture mod. You’ll find items Themed around different rooms, which includes Chairs, Tables, Sofas, Blinds and Drawers. A lot of blocks have interactions too, as they’ll allow you to do things like closing blinds or storing items in containers. Dynamic Trees changes how trees generate in your world, making them a lot more realistic. They’ll now grow slowly from saplings, and will grow thinner as they go upwards. When you break a log, the entire tree will fall at once, and you can even climb branches. Dynamic Surroundings is another mod which makes your world more ambient and interesting. It adds all new sound effects, with them varying depending on the biome you’re in, while also changing your footsteps. There’s a lot of new visual effects too, as you’ll find auroras during the night, as well as Fireflies near forests. If you like the look of any of these mods, you can get them in the description below. Or you can download the modpack I’ve created, which will include a few other mods too that I personally like. Hey guys, here’s a look at 40 mods which I think massively improve Minecraft, and fall into the Vanilla+ category of mods which don’t make dramatic changes to the game. This is for Forge 1.16.5, but quite a few of these have Fabric versions too, which I’ve included in the Google file.
I know this pack might be on the extreme side for Vanilla+, so it’s more like an enhanced version of Minecraft. It’s probably one of my final ones of 1.16.5 anyway, who knows!
Because of the amount of links, they won’t all fit in the description with timestamps, so I’ve had to place them into a separate file which you can find below. There’s a 5000 character description limit, so it was either links or timestamps!

Until CurseForge approves it, you can download the ZIP file and insert it manually into the CurseForge app. Pressing the link below will automatically download a small ZIP file. Open the CurseForge app, click “+ Create Custom Profile” in the top right, then press the import button and select my ZIP, then you can just play once it’s installed the mods, and disable some etc. I’ll remove this once it’s approved. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kqij184owp04kd4/PwrDown%27s%20Enhanced%20Vanilla%2B-1.0.zip?dl=1
