If you saw the Data Pack list that I recently covered, then you might have noticed the pack called Towns and Towers that I mentioned. I loved it so much that I thought it would be worth covering in its own video. It adds some new Villages and Pillager Outposts into Minecraft, and I think we really need a feature like this in the Vanilla game, maybe in a future update. And just so you know, I’ve paired this video with the Terralith Datapack, which overhauls world generation with new terrain and biomes. First, let’s take a look at some of the new Villages. As I was putting this video together, there were just over 15 new Villages included with the Datapack, with some of them being exclusives, and these ones will only show up alongside Terralith. Now, each Village has a unique style, depending on the Biome they spawn in. These new types of Villages can spawn in Swamps, Meadows, Jungles, Badlands, Beaches, Groves, the Snowy Slopes and a few other locations. And these Villages are made up of blocks that make sense with their surroundings. In Swamps, you’ll find Villages which feel chaotic and overgrown, with them also inhabiting large tree stumps. Whereas in Jungles, the Villages feel more primitive, with houses mostly being made from Wood and Hay. Not all of them are complete Villages either. Some are just a few structures. Head to the Beach, and you can find a Lighthouse, which is run by the Lighthouse Master, living in the house next door. He trades some useful items like Clocks, a Compass and a Heart of the Sea. In a Forest, you’ll mostly find ruins, from a Village which has been taken over by nature. On the Snowy Slopes, you’ll find a structure which looks like a Lodge or Ski Resort, with outdoor seating looking over the slopes. Inside, you’ll find lots of Villagers living in what looks like some sort of bar. The Wooded Badlands features what feels like Bandits living in the Desert, who go out on Raids at night. At the Sunflower Fields, it’s like a family run farm, with lots of animals, barns and a Windmill. Some of the more pretty locations are Villages inside the Meadows, which feel more polished and premium. Or those in the Flower Forest, which are also beautifully crafted, and they have a distinct Japanese feeling to them when it comes to the architecture, especially with the Gates. And while I don’t think they’re the prettiest, the Badlands Villages are definitely some of the biggest and most cramped. Now, we can talk about the feature I like most, and that’s the new Pillager Outposts. In the vanilla game, Pillager Outposts don’t have much variation, often looking the same. But this Datapack also introduces some new variants, with there being over 15 in total. Each one is unique, and fits in with their biome well. They can look like different Forts, Towers, and Campsites. They still behave the exact same, it’s just much nicer to stumble across new locations all the time, instead of the same structure. They’re also more fun to clear, as the interiors are nicely decorated and loot can be found inside. Outside of Villages and Pillager Outposts, a few additional structures are added. One of them is the Wandering Trader Camp, which is only accessible through Terralith. The others are a variety of Ships which you can find spawning on Minecrafts Oceans. These could be owned by both Villagers or Pillagers, and add a bit more life to the Ocean. The Villagers can be traded with, and Pillagers can be defeated to take their loot stored in the Ships. Finally, there’s a Desert Pyramid, which looks exactly like the ones already in Vanilla Minecraft. However, when opening a Chest, you might find a doorway which opens the tomb. There’s more loot to discover here, like Gold Blocks, but also some Chests and Spawners, so keep an eye out for these. With all that said, it’s one of my favorite structure Datapacks I’ve covered. I’d love to see even more changes come in with future updates of Minecraft, but I guess The beauty of the game is that we can customize it however we want. Video Information
