Trading with Animals (Minecraft Mage Quest | Part 35) [Witchery 1.7.10]

Good evening and welcome back to mage quest emoji apparently on today’s episode we’re going back to school we’re picking up our studies in witchery where we left off and uh we had some quests that i was able to do between episodes here that we can wrap up and then see

What the future holds for us there so let’s get going all right so as i mentioned uh we gotta get back into our schooling it’s been too long we’ve got homework to do we’ve uh we’ve neglected our studies for far too long we’re on spring break here and

Now we’re back ready to learn so i don’t know why i came up here i kind of have a habit just running around i think when i’m talking about things anyways let’s get into the quest book here because there’s a couple quests that just got unlocked here hope that’s the next one

Here so last time we last left off here there was just there’s a low chance of retrieval one here um which basically it started with this kill direwolves one kill a bunch of wolves which i wasn’t very happy about but it happened uh and then there was uh one that popped up for

Bats after that and then even after that when you think you’re done for a second then you get uh spiders and then after that you even get creepers so you had to kill ten creepers eight spiders five bats and then twenty wolves uh but the reward is this our

Thana so we’ll claim that and then we’ll see what the next quest holds for us which was right here swinging the otch now uh hmm you don’t seem to have many of those rare drops despite having killed many many mobs while that little dagger that i gave just gave you will should fix

That it turns out that probability is a tangible force and that dagger which is called the arthana is strongly attuned to it killing mobs with this thing should sway the odds of the item dropping in your favor so we’ve already actually accomplished some of these things here we got the tongue of dog

From killing all the wolves because there’s 20 wolves to kill uh and we got a lot of this wool of bat i’ve collected a ton of this over the the course of the game here so far now we still need to collect a dense web and then we also

Need to collect i’m guessing it’s the creeper heart here so we’re going to go out and uh it is night time now so we’ll take our newly found weapon here it does four damage only so we gotta make sure it’s the killing blow on some creepers

And some spiders so let’s go hunting a hunting we will go and see if we can complete our studies here man so didn’t that the kind of kind of studying you’d expect um between episodes here i’ve been working on getting the terraced steel that we

Worked on last episode here uh it is a slow process because as you can saw before it takes about half my mana pool to uh to do one piece of tariff steel and that takes a long time to charge back up again so we need to have a better mana

Generation system i’m going to work on that next episode or between episodes here and show it off next episode um okay here’s here’s some some customers let’s get a couple hits on one of each of them oh i know i didn’t mean to do that don’t touch me

There we go there’s one hit did we get this web nope all right maybe we’re just better off attacking with a straight because um it’s gonna take a lot of hits to kill a creeper though i wonder if we can enchant this with looting or something

Oh god we’re never gonna be killing with this thing we have to do one hit we have to do one hit with the um with the sword and then switch to the arthana here uh so let’s switch these around here let’s eat some meats and uh replenish our strength keep our

Strength for fighting up here all right so one hit with the one with it with this thing with my uh my my steel blade here and there was a creeper over here where’d he go i saw him on the map there he is there’s my customer

Okay one hit with that and then one hit with this and that didn’t give us anything but it did give us two two whole gunpowder how about that so this is not gonna go this is not gonna be very quickly i think um here’s another creeper okay let’s try this pret on him

So give him that want a taste of that back up and let him uh come to us and we get one nope okay so this is a really rare drop i’m thinking um i wonder if we can enchant this though to give it more power i bet you we can

So i don’t need to kill you with anything special i’ll just ignore you actually you’re not what i’m here for oh look at these guys hello sirs you are energy ghosts would you drop anything cool don’t drop anything just a lot of experience actually there he is okay so let’s put in the

Water oh no but it’s gonna blow okay here we go watch more hits oh man we’re not getting lucky with this creeper heart at all uh i wonder if it’s not from creepers that doesn’t make any sense it has to be from creepers where else would you get a creeper heart

Let’s just run along coast here and see if we can find a spider i feel like the dense web thing might be a little bit more likely for them well jeez over half the night’s gone already isn’t it isn’t it yeah we’re over half the night’s gone

Already we haven’t got a single thing we’re looking for here uh i don’t know what else to do it’s just gonna take some time these are rare drops after all um so i don’t know we’ll have to keep trying here keep trying keep trying so no luck getting the creeper hearts

And the dense web is also a bit of an issue let’s see if this has any clues for us in the that’s the book here so for dense web it says denso have cobwebs are dropping spiders remember to use the artha as a killing glow for increased odds of dropping one or one

Dropping all right so let’s see if we can enchant this thing with like looting or something like that maybe i mean it’s gonna be a long shot to is there a way to craft this there’s probably a way to craft it look into that too he’s got a sword

All right so we have level 30 here we can get an enchantment on this let’s see if we can get on it level three in china let’s see we got smite and unbreaking well geez that’s no good um we could make another one of these and see if we can get something a

Little bit better maybe but i don’t have any levels to do it anymore so it doesn’t really matter that much um so i guess we’ll have to wait until the next night and hopefully get lucky with some drops the following evening here um i guess i can head down

The mine and see if i can find anything down there it might be this little fine way to kill some time if nothing else um everything is pretty much well lit down here is the problem now though so let’s be careful that we yeah it’s really sheep down here too because uh

These bobbers always spawn everywhere because of the head crumbs mod puts them everywhere for some reason i guess they thought it’d be fun so i guess i’ll just look around the caves here see if i can find any more creepers uh there’s a couple spiders down here and we’ll kill these things

Drive them back and yeah maybe we’ll get lucky here i keep letting things spawn in the uh in the mists of my like caves down here yeah so i’ll just keep letting things spawn down here and see if i can get lucky maybe all right so this is like night

I don’t know like four i’ve killed dozens and dozens of creepers and i finally got one creeper heart out of all of this and i’ve killed dozens and dozens of spiders and i still haven’t managed to get a single dense web uh but i figured out we can actually

Make cobweb using the spinning wheel which shouldn’t be too expensive to make oh we do need a tuned stone though is the only issue there but once we get that we can spin cobweb and with cobweb we can make the dense web so the dense web we can actually craft so that’s a

Good thing we can actually complete this quest here without killing the spiders because man being a rare drop uh i mean i just killed so many creepers here and we just got one heart out of all this hopefully it was worth it hopefully there’s a way to get these a

Little quicker in the future but uh if they’re needed i don’t know what they’re used for let’s see here quick uh it’s used for witch’s robes and the bark belt and the frozen heart and making gunpowder we’re not gonna do that uh mostly the bark belt and other other

Gear like that so we can make some witch’s gear here might not be a bad idea we do have some pretty good stuff here um so what did we do to make uh is there another way to make cobweb i think there might be let’s take a look here quick

Uh let’s see cobwebs oh we can also use the alchemical chemistry set okay that’s probably even easier than making the spinning wheel then uh then we don’t have to wait use that a tuned stone so we’ll just make up a bunch of cobwebs i have plenty of string here and we’ll

Head over here and i got some bread cooking up in here because uh you know bread tastes better when you make it with blood um let’s throw this in there like this like so and there we go we got our first cobweb and now we can finish up with four of

Those and we can finish this quest mercifully man that was a long time coming but we got it dense web okay quest over let’s uh eat some food here first of all because we’re dying we’re dying eat some delicious bread and now we can continue on with our quests in the quest book

So let’s uh go back in here and help us black and be springing sp swinging the odds uh we got that taken care of we can claim all this is oh we can only claim one of each as or five of one of these as a word i

Think the hardest one to get is the group of hearts though so i think we’re definitely go with that i will go kill wolves until i’m blue in the face uh before i go after this creeper heart again um and if surprisingly enough we didn’t actually pick any up in the meantime

Here we also get another arthana as a reward too so i guess that’s good for enchanting we get a second one of these they’re pretty cheap to make so we can enchant and hopefully get a better enchant on it maybe some looting might help a little bit uh so we got uh six

Creeper hearts now and we had to turn in no we didn’t have to turn them in we have the dense web here um i don’t know where the other stuff might be oh the other stuff is over in the witchery hut so let’s go take a look at

The next quest here and making a deal violence isn’t the only way to get what you want with the polynesia charm you can simply trade with many mobs crafting a polynesian charm allows you to trade with many but not all mobs by simply right clicking on a mob with it

Oh cool polynesian charm okay that sounds really cool um we got a reward bag for this i think that’s a really really neat thing uh okay let’s make the polynesia then polynesia charm let’s see what’s going to take it takes a fish plus ooh lots of

Cool stuff here or order odor of purity and whiff of magic now the whiff of magic i definitely have already odor of purity is hawthorne saplings hawthorne saplings okay so let’s grab some hawthorne saplings and see what we have here um was there any other quest unlocked from this

Nope that’s it okay this still sounds interesting though uh so what yeah you got hawthorne saplings we have seven of them i’m not gonna waste all those because we need to regrow it here uh is there anything in here we have this get this out of here hopefully we got

These four we can get two we need for this man that’ll be that’ll be unlucky or it’ll be lucky if we actually get them here uh one down no no such luck okay so i’m better off probably cutting down a few of these hawthorne trees um and see if i

Can get more saplings let’s see if this is this pops through maybe luckily here um we need that bread back but otherwise we’ll uh just craft up or rather plant up a bunch of these things uh no such luck so far oh we got one come on moment of truth

Here we go here we go yeah look at that lucky lucky lucky it is our lucky day things are swinging in our favor finally here all right so we need a little bit more netherwart and uh i’m working on this i was mentioning before these were kind of

Draining out really really quickly um so i’ve been working on trying to get it balanced again here so i just have i have eight going at once right now and that’s not great as far as efficiency but i have a new plan of what to do for

Over here so i’ll get down this uh next episode i think um i’ve been working on that during the daytime while waiting for the night to roll around here and i can’t with some ideas so we’ll do this uh next time around um so we got five that’s plenty we need one

Piece of iron i don’t think i have that on me so i’ll have to go back here and grab it my pack is full just about so let’s drop off the spider eyes and anything else we can drop off here this and that’s about it okay so uh we need

What are we here for i have a bad memory okay there we go one piece of iron and we’ll go make this right here no we need the whiff of magic shoot we have to go back to the hut back to the hut perfect all right so uh whiff of magic

We have one of and let’s go trade with some mobs oh we need a fish also forgot about that well we have to go fishing i don’t think i’ve actually made a fishing rod in this uh in this this mod pack at all yet so you got some wood make a couple sticks

Go fishing for a couple fish it’s string again good thing i have a good splash string going and our pack is full there we go there we go that’ll help all right so uh let’s make some sticks and hit the fish in hit the fishing hole now this is still 1.7

I’m getting used to fishing at 1.8 quite a bit i really like the fishing they did uh for 1.8 it’s a little bit more interesting than this is um so this is still the classic style of fishing we’re just kind of uh we’ll dip down and make

A noise when it’s time to catch something uh they’ve really did fishing for one point and i really like it um so hopefully you know down the road we can uh do some more underwater adventures possible like a sealab series possibly who knows when a 1.8 rolls around maybe see lab2

1.8 1.8 mods ever become a thing oh no they did redo it for this one it is 1.7 they got the 1.7 mechanics right here i thought that was 1.8 okay cool so does that mean i can enchant this fishing rod in this one then i thought this was 1.8 that introduced

The the new fishing mechanics but um you know the other thing that i came about in 1.8 though is the underwater monument so i know that for sure happened in 1.8 so maybe that’s a good time for c lab too if uh if that needs to happen

Um we’ll see i got some other ideas of what i can do in the future too for other tech based mod packs i’ve been picking them out and now that infinity is here i’m definitely itching to get back into some uh tech based mod pack here as well

I’m not that i’m not enjoying the magic uh side of things but um you know we can have it all we could have it all with another mod pack so maybe i’ll look into that pretty soon here all right we got our one fish

Now we can go finish this up and make a way to trade with things now it said some mobs but not all mobs so i wonder we can trade with it’s i’m interested i’m interested to find out uh it’s uh gonna be cool so polynesia charm here we go

Uh like this and then an ace of iron at the top and the polynesia charm he talks to the animals all right so let’s go see what we can trade with what about an eagle can we trade with an eagle we’ll find out here right now they’re

Everywhere if we could trade with eagles it’ll be amazing because they’re everywhere in this mod bag come here buddy hey stay still we can we can trade him raw beefer good lord that’s actually a pretty good trade for getting gold for ourselves well that’s really nice this head does have a

Durability on it but still this is uh ooh let’s go take a look and see if there’s a way to trade with the sheep here see what this guy wants oh man robbie for a golden ingot or a golden nuggets that’s really cool hello sir he wants wheat for uh

10 birch or a 10 wheat for a birch cypher do i have a wheat i don’t have a wheat on me let’s go with the same thing he wants four carrots for a jungle sapling man we’re gonna have all kinds of cool we’re gonna have like a a trade post

Which is animal trading post for chicken for kicked is they’re tweaking some weird trades man i dig it hopefully the durability on this is okay he wants 10 seeds for some mandrake roots that’s actually not a bad deal either that’ll save us some trouble of uh man

We should take him up on that one let’s go trade with him because he we have to go find that one guy again here but um man that’s a good trade so i don’t have any random stuff on me like that to trade for though so we should uh

Maybe grab some seeds stuff we don’t want and see if we can trade for some cool stuff here we’ll go to this we’ll go i’ll go grab a random smattering of uh useless things and we’ll see we’ll go to the market here and see what we can

Get uh for everything we have here so uh just give me a minute let me fill up on some random stuff here all right so i got a random collection of useless items here useless vanilla items and we’re gonna see who we can trade for to improve our lot in life

By trading with eagles man this would be great the most the two we saw wanted uh meat which i don’t really have but maybe we can trade some to get some things and then he wants meat okay i don’t have that sorry buddy i can’t tell you there

There’s gotta be more eagles around here someplace i wonder if we could trade with like skeletons there’s a skeleton on the map over here you want seven fish for a spruce sapling this is just a gap there okay here we go what do you want sir some apples for that’s yeah they’re

Getting some decent trades i mean i’ll trade 11 apples for a for gold we need lots of gold anyways oh let’s see where come on hold still hold still i’m trying to trade with you or for a tree fed seed wow we don’t even know what that is and what do you want

Three potatoes for a tongue of dog oh that’s awesome we need to like capture some of these things so we can like keep these trades the songs are really good maybe like name them uh whatever they’re trading um or something like that man because otherwise they’re gonna despawn

After a little while here unless these eagles are like like uh normal other mobs they don’t despawn like the cows and stuff can we trade with the squid oh my god if we can trade with squids that’ll be amazing we can we can trade with squids oh my god come here squid

Oh come on we want to trade with you oh this is so nice though we want a tree with squids he wants fish of course i don’t know why he wants fish he can get his own fish we can’t do it underwater though we have to be above water

He wants fish okay love this guy well the one squid wants fish and i’m not going to trade him for that cause i can’t actually get the rest of the squids to activate and i don’t have any fish on me getting 17 fish is going to be a bit of an issue

For me uh oh he wants eight nine fish i don’t think i can i don’t think i can trade with hostile mobs i’m just guessing oh here we go let’s just give him a trade let’s do a trade with the first our first trade with an animal give him eight

For some jungle saplings that they really need jungle saplings does he improve his uh trading or is it different like doesn’t work the same as villagers he doesn’t actually get any more trades for trading with him so whatever they have is what they have he wants carrots for mandrake roots i’ll

Take that trade seven carrots you got it man give you all the carrots where’d he go he just disappeared well then uh let’s get rid of that i need my carrots back this is great though we can trade with animals this is this is worthwhile oh we also

There’s two there’s two quests unlocked manival improves and benevolent brews okay so this is a brewing mechanic here using the newly crafted kettle you can combine ingredients into drinkable brews just fill the kettle with water throw items into the kettle and then right click with the resulting brew with an

Empty glass bottle recipes can be found in the brews and infusions book i gave you and you may have noticed there are two types of potions in this book those that heal you and those that others those that harm others you have no you have a choice to make do

You want to be known as a good witch healing people with their bruise or an evil witch ah evil no i think we’ll do a frog interesting uh approve infection or we can brew a brew of love i think that sounds like nice well let’s brew some love potion

Next next time i think um that’ll do it for this episode here we got to trade with some animals and i’m going to be using the crap out of this now i’m going to break this thing in like in no time whatsoever because i love i love trading

With villagers and i like i like the fact that i can just trade with squids here now this is fantastic i can trade them with people my people come here they always would fish my people are so intrigued and interested in fish constantly come on maybe something better than that fish
