Trails and Tales is out! We’re celebrating the release of the new update by having four of our bravest developers go head-to-head in a Trails and Tales mini-game tournament. And we’ll be announcing an amazing Trails and Tales event where you can try out the new features with your friends. Welcome to Minecraft Monthly. I’m your host, Vu Bui, the world’s greatest Minecraft player. Not this world, it’s another world. You wouldn’t know it. Today’s top story: Trails and Tales is finally out! Have you tried it yet? Why not?! Are you trying to hurt my feelings? You succeeded. To celebrate, four lucky Mojang Studios employees have volunteered To be forced to compete in the first ever Trails and Tales Deathmatch of Death. Actually, can we make that something nicer? Passable. Let’s meet our contestants. I’m not here to compete, I’m here to educate all three of them. Class is in session. I mean, everybody is going to see my back constantly. That’s about it. Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m just lucky to be here. Sniff, sniff. I’m Cameron and I’m here to win. Matthew, Cameron, Sarah and Magnus will compete to win a prize as wonderful as it is worthless. In each mini-game, the last player to hit the playable mob head gets eliminated. Let the Trails and Tales Blockbuster Battle begin! Let’s go! Here we go, here we go, here we go! I’m going this way. Here’s the fishy. Oh, you get blocked by fishes! -Let’s go! Oh no! -Hey, Sarah! That’s not fair. I’m trying my best. I’m so baffled that I’m in the lead right now. -I’m on my way, I’m on my way. -No! Gosh! Get out of here, Moesh! Watch, watch, watch! Big first left here, skid around the corner. So simple, so easy. Watch me work, watch me work. Okay. -No! -Oh yeah, oh yeah! Keep watching my back. Keep watching my back. -Yes, okay. -Are you there already? And… Yes! We got it, we got it. Alright, students, gather up, gather up. I’m getting to you, Moesh, I’m getting to you. -Here we go, here we go. -Get out of here, get out of here! -Yeah, baby! -Yo! Okay, I’m up. I’m just so disappointed in myself. I was terrible. Oh no! Bad luck, Sarah. I hope the fact that the update is released can at least provide some solace. We’ll check in for round two soon, but first: Bedrock news! I don’t think that’s the official art for Bedrock, but okay. I’m happy to tell you that sneaking improvements and crawling are finally coming to Minecraft Bedrock soon and are already out in Preview and Beta. As you may know, one of the new mobs in Trails and Tales is the mighty camel. But rumor has it that the camel is based on a real-life animal known as the “ca-mel”. Could it be true? We sent Agnes to find out. Hello. I’m here with a real-life camel. He’s adorable. So I’m sorry if the rest of this episode is just me saying “aw” all the time. Aw… When we first started to design the Minecraft camel it looked something like this. But then we decided to actually look at a camel And we realized that we needed to do some adjustments, just some minor ones. Don’t tell the other mobs, but I think you’re the cutest animal. I hope your life hasn’t changed too much since you became famous in Minecraft. -Back to you, Vu. -Thank you, camel and Agnes. Let’s begin the second round of the Trails and Tales mini-game tournament. I haven’t been this excited since I read “sound excited” off the script a few seconds ago. Last person to finish the parkour course and hit the playable mob head gets eliminated! Are you ready? One, two, three, go! Alright, here we go. Oh jeez! No, no, no! Okay, it’s fine, it’s fine. It’s just an early misstep. Let’s go, let’s go! Oh no! Around the spiral, around the spiral, around the spiral. -Oh man… -Are you all doing okay over there? -No. -Oh no! You’ve just got to be careful. Hit the ladder… Okay. The next bed… Here we go, here we go! Yes! Here we go! Alright, alright, alright! I’m in the lava. Got it. Yes! Here we go. Alright, let’s see how the students are doing. -I don’t need to… Oh! -Cameron, I can’t see you. Oh my goodness. No, it’s not happening for me. Are we in the final? Yeah, we are. Commiserations, Cameron. I guess you should have done better, like the others. Okay, let’s quickly move on to something many of you have been waiting for: Minecraft is now available on Google Chromebook. Google, send me a free Chromebook so I can prove this. Yeah, I didn’t think that would work. Minecraft Legends now. This month’s free Lost Legend is the Legend of the Llama, available now! We sent Agnes to meet a llama. Let’s take a look. Oh! Hi, Vu! Where’s the llama? Oh! Wait, I get it. It’s because it’s a Lost Legend, so no llama. Very clever! Oh, yes! Yes, of course. It’s certainly not that I got distracted and it ran away. Well, that’s…good to know. Thanks, Agnes! It’s time for the epic finale of the mini-game tournament! Who do you think is gonna win? I’ve got a good feeling about Sarah. I literally lost in the first round. Sorry. Why don’t you and Cameron just join them on the back of their camels? Because the final mini-game is a camel race. Once you’ve reached the sandbox full of suspicious sand by the end of the course, find four sherds. The first finalist to put them together into a decorated pot wins! Let’s crown our winner! Ready, set, go! -Yeah, yeah… -Get on the camel. Alright, we’re good. Here we go. Cameron, we’re good. Yes. Solid up the stairs, what are we looking at? Oh no! They just figured out how to ride the camel. We’ve got this. Left, right through here. No problem. Dash over the water – that’s a pro-level move. -I think we’re stuck on webs. -Are we completely stuck, or what? Alright, we’re back on. Dash over, here we go. Okay. -That brush. -Ooh! Need to get my brush. Okay. The brush, the brush… -I’m here for moral support. -Yeah. Keep it up. Alright. Get out of my way. No, hey! You can’t do that. You took mine! You really took mine. So in your final exam, you wanna do a bit of cheating? You’re not supposed to… -Come on now. -You almost got that sherd. This is mine. This is mine. A little punching, it’s okay. It’s not supposed to happen in class, but it’s fine. -No, you can’t have my sherd… -I need this. -My sherd… -No! Yes, yes, yes! Okay. Here, here, here. In here. Yes! Come on, come on! -Yes, we won! -God! Cameron, yes! Good job, good job! Congratulations, Moesh! You win a camel! I don’t want a camel. Of course you do. I’ll ride it over to your apartment after the show. But first it’s time to reveal our summer celebration for Trails and Tales. Starting June 23rd, we’ll be hosting a three-day worldwide multiplayer event. Explore one of three Trails and Tales-themed sections, or challenge players across the globe to mini-games. Now, I should stress that these mini-games will not be the same As the ones you saw our developers compete in today. They will be even cooler. You’ll also get a special Character Creator item for joining: the cherry wood tee! I made a T-shirt out of wood once. Most uncomfortable experience of my life. We’ll be back in September or October – however long it takes me to deliver a camel. See you in a few months! Aw! Video Information
