Transform Minecraft into an Alien World!

Hey guys Ethan here today we’re going to be turning Minecraft into the Ultimate Alien Survival Game I recently finished watching a new show called scavengers Reign which features a really incredible alien world and I was inspired to try to bring something like that to Minecraft it can be pretty difficult to totally

Change the Overworld into an alien one but I think that I did a pretty good job of giving the feel of exploring a whole new planet oh and I did just want to mention that I’ve been sick for the past week so do forgive my voice sounding a

Little off anyway let’s get into it all right so first up we have performance and visuals I won’t linger here for too long but basically this is built around rubidium which is going to get a lot more FPS especially in the more demanding areas it has an add-on for

Dynamic lights which of course everyone appreciates and going beyond that we’re also going to install Oculus which allows us to run shaders specifically we’re going to be running complimentary reimagined but to be honest shaders are a matter of personal preference so whatever you think is probably going to

Be fine uh Starlight will also assist with some of the lighting issues especially in uh bigger areas and finally we’ll have ji so that you know what to craft moving into the fun stuff we have World Generation so first and foremost we’re going to be getting the

Mod above and below which adds these really interesting Sky Islands which I think gives a good feeling of uniqueness that isn’t really present in a lot of Overworld generation type mods and it’ll also give you a whole second layer of the world to explore up in the upper

Atmosphere beyond that we have Unearthed which essentially adds a bunch of new types of stone to vary up the world and really gives it a different planet kind of feel which I really appreciate uh we also have immersive weathering which is something that I include in most packs

It just adds a whole bunch of uh new environmental features like cracked mud and permafrost and Ivy and it makes the world feel more lived in and detailed now we also have how enhanced biomes which is going to take all of the base game biomes and make them feel modded

And more detailed it gives this the world an overgrown sort of feeling which I really like now as far as new biomes go first up we have desolation which is a mod that adds a burnt out forest biome inhabited by a few strange new creatures and what is an in Planet if not

Dangerous so I do really like the feeling of this uh destroyed Forest we also have Dreamland biomes which is starting to encroach on new mob mods but these biomes are various fantasy type things there’s tar pits and strange new forests toxic jungles all of which really Hammer home the feeling of

Alienness and of course include all sorts of matching new creatures uh we also have egg lroom biome which fits a very similar feel in that it has a one biome that includes giant mushrooms and all sorts of matching creatures which vary up your gameplay we also have pinkies miscellaneous biomes and mobs

Which currently only adds one biome that being the Salt Flats which are of course inhabited by all sorts of new monsters the the idea for these new biomes is that they’ll make your environment feel well new by having all these new experiences and new creatures and really

It makes you feel as though you’re exploring A Whole New World rather than just a modified Overworld going into mobs we have a good little collection of creatures first and foremost we have the demogorgan mod which adds well the demogorgan from stranger things it’s kind of difficult to get you know unique

Uh alien creatures so I think it’s acceptable to have a few pop culture ones especially when they’re just so well done now we also have arar’s mutant bug monsters which as the name implies adds all sorts of new bug type creatures it’s inspired by older mods such as the arus

And these new creatures you’ll be able to do all sorts of things you can collect and Taxidermy them and they provide a new challenge as you explore this strange New World there is also a bit of a smaller mod called Elemental animals which essentially adds a number

Of Elemental animals the main reason for getting this is for this sort of cloud lizard guy who you’ll be seeing a fair bit of when you’re up exploring these sky islands that I discussed earlier now really going in a different direction we have Monster Hunter Legacy which again adds some pop culture creatures

Specifically a bunch of different uh creatures from the Monster Hunter franchise which is a game series well known for well the big monsters that you hunt as the name might imply and here I included it because it gives a whole new ecosystem to this world all sorts of reptilian almost prehistoric looking

Creatures that fill out the world and really do make you feel like you’re living somewhere that’s not exactly the Overworld uh going beyond that we also have Monster Hunter Heaven and Hell which does much the same thing uh but it has a different take on it has a very

Different style and I I really appreciate both of them for how they fill out the world with these incredible new beasts that feel so different from anything that could could live on earth and of course both of them uh going along with the monster hunter themes has

All sorts of uh armors and weapons that you can create from the monsters that you slay so you really get a feeling as though you’re surviving and conquering this world back to a smaller mod we have species which just adds a handful of interesting little new guys to explore

In the world that Feel Again sort of alien uh we also have Critters en Cryptids which adds a bunch of more fantasy than alien creatures but again it’s difficult to get fully alien ones and they’re they’re just really neat I I like how they fill out the niches and

The biomes that aren’t really filled by the the bigger guys from say the monster hods or any of the other stuff that we have all of it really does help to vary your gameplay and this one in particular has so many rare creatures that you’ll always be on your toes always running

Into something new now getting into the really alien we have pathogen monster plague this a bit of an obscure mod that adds these sort of reptilian aliens in your world that it isn’t a true infection mod in that they aren’t you know in a constant surge overtaking your world quite like

Parasites or something like that that wasn’t the vibe that I was looking for with this but these ones they can infect uh normal base game creatures and slowly turn them into more of these alien reptiles and you’ll of course find the reptiles themselves spawning all throughout the world and they fit pretty

Well stylistically with the ones from Monster Hunter so it gives a bit more an idea of history and honestly uh Critters en crypted the ones that already talked about has a lot of reptilian creatures as well so this alien world is certainly one that’s rather uh reptile

Dominated now uh there is a Boss mod that I’ve added as well boss aminium which all the creatures aren’t exactly perfect in their theming but a lot of them have a focus on like ancient construct and golems and creatures of that type which I like the idea of you

Stumbling through this alien world and encountering these ancient constructs things left behind by some long gone alien race all the bosses can be summoned and you do get a guide book at the start now going beyond that we have the tech and exploration section which

At its heart we have a good chunk of attack because well it’s alien stuff it’s it’s sci-fi but there’s a little bit of magic and that magic comes in the form of infectum which is a alien focused mod that does have a bit more of an infection like World overtaking feel

Than something like pathogen monster plague but it’s fully optional what I mean by that is that in your world you will encounter these ancient cultist structures that relate to the various alien gods in infectum and eventually you can summon and defeat the overlord Boss by going through this whole cultist

Route it’s really cool and when that boss is defeated it does begin an infection in the world so if you don’t want to deal with something that’s you know slowly spreading out and taking over your world you don’t have to but if you do decide to engage with these ancient monuments

Which I think fits pretty well thematically with the uh boss and minium bosses but if you if you choose to engage with them then you can uh face down these alien Horrors now a little bit more of a standard Tech mod that everyone’s seen by now is create create

Doesn’t really need much of an introduction but I think that it fits well here because if you’re stranded on this planet you’re slowly working up through technology you can’t just start with Space Age Tech uh you’ll have to work through something like create you know this very basic technology that you

Build up as you slowly conquer the world it also adds all sorts of New Stone types which uh I think fit really well with the other ones that I talked about earlier immersive engineering is also a similar one to create that has more of a retr futuristic style and I think it

Fits really well here as kind of a prog ression you would start with the more steampunky Tech from create and move into immersive engineering with its uh retrofuturism style and as you slowly work on electricity you would move onto something like modular power suits which adds well essentially max they’re

They’re very space Agy type Tech that I really like and they’ll be a good reward for after you’ve defeated the world with these customizable weapons and suits of mechanical armor and of course that flows into Ad Astra the Space Mod because well we couldn’t have an alien

Survival without some ability to go to space So eventually after you’ve defeated this world you can leave the planet and journey out into the stars and of course there is an add-on for Ad Astra which is which includes a number of Star Wars planets and I know pop

Culture again but they are really fun really well done both at Astra and this add-on for it really give a feeling of well space exploration which it’s hard to have an alien Survival game without some sort of space exploration and speaking of space exploration if uh journeying to the

Stars in a rocket isn’t really your thing we do also have Stargate Journey which is a mod that includes the Stargate from the Stargate franchise uh it is basically an ancient portal to other worlds which only one spawns per world but that is that can be changed by

Getting an optional data pack which I won’t include at the start cuz I do like how rare it it is but the Stargate allows you to explore a number of different worlds from the uh well Stargate franchise so I think that that relates to a lot of the ancient tack or

At least thematically goes along with the feelings of ancient things that are included in the other mods and so yeah that is basically the pack now I’m going to cut to a bit of gameplay just to show you what it’s like surviving in this vast New World hey guys so I just

Started I got all the oh off to a great start uh turns I didn’t hit reg Gord at the very start but that’s fine uh I got all this stuff from a meteorite and now I’m chilling with my guy here this like dinosaur guy he’s definitely from one of

The monster H mods but we’re just going to call him a dinosaur so that’s pretty good we’ve been exploring this Savana Savana and there’s a Salt Flats over here which heads into a desert floating islands this really is the alien look at this guy oh he’s so

Fun he’s he’s another monster hunter guy and I know that much but okay I thought that I saw a way up to these floating islands cuz it’s getting dark and I’m going to pretend like the islands don’t have monsters on them and it’s very dark underneath the islands as

I don’t like how he’s running at me I don’t like how he’s I don’t like how he’s blinded me either I don’t like that at all see the islands at the bottom are made of powdered snow which is not the greatest for traversing so I can’t stand on wait oh

No I can stand on I have and leather boots no problems here you know starting to wonder if the island really was such a good idea that looks fun over there though see if I can figure out a way over there not going to you know I’m going to

Ignore the little orbs that are floating toward me just going to pretend like they’re not there oh my never mind you know what okay that’s fine oh boy I sure do love toxic marshes with no no stuff no items just me and the the tar status effect the sure is sure is

Jolly you know this this feels really familiar I think it’s one of the the Stargate things see it’s not that bad to find the Stargate cuz you just got to find one of these temples and then you trade the Villager or something thing and you’ll get a map to the actual

Stargate unless there’s one in here think there’s one oh wait now there’s one of these things okay he doing some testing so these just send me to various Overworld coordinates okay bye gu oh no why why would it put me in a dungeon why would it oh

No I will say something tells me that the big evil Temple is in in fact evil but I don’t know I try not to try not to judge a book by its cover you know oh my you know what I’m sure he’s friendly that was just a a warning just big

Purple Temple not even evil Temple just see look there’s this friendly guy right there and there’s this chest the dagger in it and another type of dagger an infected leather oh my I love infected leather it’s like my second favorite thing it talks about all sorts of things

Which you know that’s great and all but I never learned how to read so we all die eventually at least I’m not dying a borom I feel like Mona Safari you know wandering around this biome that’s definitely from one of the monster huner mods but I’m not sure which one and just

Hoping that I don’t get prayed upon by some sort of hideous beasts there’s no beasts there’s no beasts just me and these fevine are these edible I did play one of the monster ENT games at one point I’m not just not just stealing these things you know guys it it sure

Sure is a good thing that the monster is stuck or else he’d be able to hurt me oh oh he he doesn’t actually bite that bad see he’s friendly he’s friendly you know guys I find the notion that I cheated in any sort of armor to be quite insulting also this is a

Different guy it’s one of the duplicate guys look at at me hit him though whack whack big dragon oh my okay right never mind you know the the cheated in armor doesn’t even matter sometimes that’s how you know you’re an alien planet because the creatures are mean all right we’re going to we’re

Going to take him down once I get my boots on okay so he’s like okay he got me there he really did get me there boy I sure have been working hard to get myself a full suit of power armor with no cheating man I feel cool and I’m ready

To take on this this big guy uh he’s a he’s wath see I I played Monster Hunter look at that I hit him with my plasma cannon bet you bet you can’t do that in Monster Hunter I’m so glad to be playing in in this uh game oh that’s the wrong button you

Know I’m starting to wonder if maybe I didn’t actually correctly uh install the modules into the power suit okay we can do this we can just Spam okay there we have it I didn’t didn’t even show off space is that is space n it’s fine uh you guys
