So It has been a while since i loaded up minecraft console edition the legacy version of minecraft this was the version i loved for so long and ironically enough this game runs better than the bedrock version on my xbox series x but welcome back everyone my name is echo and i hope you’re having A great day there is a reason why we’re on console edition today and that is because one of my favorite features that this offered compared to the bedrock version was down to how visually pleasing it was we’re just gonna wait for this to sink now i’m specifically talking about one setting And that setting is inside settings it’s down to graphics and it’s this gamma because what i’m going to show you today is a minecraft gamma pack which basically turns the bedrock version into looking like the console edition version and i know a lot of people are gonna enjoy this because I remember when minecraft bedrock released for the playstation 4 version everyone was like why does the bedrock version on playstation 4 look terrible it’s incredibly saturated now gamma was just a way to turn how it looked like this bedrock version kind of looks like this You can make this go all the way up although i kind of found my happy place around about 83 that was just something i had it was usually between 80 and 90 which looked uh pretty well now we’re gonna load up game just to give you guys uh a visual Preview of what it looks like but before we get into that guys i have something really exciting to share with you now one of the most frustrating things between bedrock and java edition is that bedrock doesn’t have an f3 functionality which is a debug menu which lets you see your coordinates your biome And a whole range of different things now a huge shout out to lucas he tweeted this only a couple of days ago saying while this is certainly an early prototype of the java debug screen on bedrock it does work if you direct your attention to the biome You will see it updates in real time the text that i’ve currently say nan will update in real time when finished it will take a while here is a small video clip of a bedrock debug screen now if that doesn’t excite you or impress you this is absolutely huge For the bedrock community now he did go ahead and also tweet this saying just to be clear this will take a long time to complete the biomes are the biggest challenge there are over 70 variants with wildly different biome tags i also need to optimize it a ton So 150 commands aren’t running every game tick in the meantime enjoy a bamboo jungle so keep an eye on lucas’s twitter guys if you do enjoy java and you do enjoy the debug screen which is so helpful to minecraft players then that is something that’s coming hopefully in the future very soon for The bedrock version so what i want to do here guys is just load up a general minecraft bedrock world um we’re just gonna load it up in survival and i just want to show you how visually pleasing this is okay so something that was quite frustrating At night time on the bedrock version it still is it’s like the outline of blocks and how hard it is uh but something that’s really really good about this is that we’re gonna go into a cave in this video and i try to show you how bright it actually is without needing Constant torches now i get it caves are dark they’re meant to be dark and i want to change my gamut setting on this to really really low but something that gives you a really good idea of how good and how pretty the the console edition version was Is not only water but also something like like a plains biome over here let’s go over here man i forgot my buttons on this i think it’s yeah there we go but yeah like a plain spine like this looks incredibly non-saturated now if we wanted to make It look like the better oh look at that download the new version uh if we wanted to make it look like bedrock i mean that’s not really bedrock right i think that’s a ah you know what it’s quite extreme i’m quite extreme but i would say definitely say that the bedrock version Is closer to zero than it is hurry up let’s go to like 20 for example right uh even that’s still better than the bedrock version uh but i need to find myself a cave to show you guys what a lot of people used to use this for okay so we use this cave As an example so again what i used to do and what a lot of people used to do is they would obviously change their gamma setting i think by default it might be around about 50 which is probably okay uh you could probably still see inside of here relatively Easy you know obviously during daytime but at night time obviously the visibility becomes a lot harder we’ll use this for example we found a spawner but if we were to change this to like let’s go back to what we was already on which is like 80 yards you don’t have To worry too much about torches yeah it’s it’s dark but it’s still visible i feel like it’s a lot easier to work with it’s it’s definitely a lot prettier compared to the bedrock version now what i’m gonna do is i’m gonna stay at this exact point but i’m gonna switch to Minecraft console edition the bedrock version before we install uh a pack for the bedrock version which is gonna make your game literally have your own gamma setting so i’ve now converted the world over to bedrock we’re on the bedrock platform here now one of the reasons why the bedrock version on console of Bedrock as a whole does not have a gamma setting is because the developers said well bedrock is widely played on ios android windows 10. they have like brightness options for console edition we really don’t have i mean we have a brightness option right but this is not the same this is not the Same as as gamma right it’s just not the same it doesn’t work the exact same now i feel like visibility down here is is a lot harder especially on what you guys can see it’s def there’s a skeleton there it’s definitely a lot harder um some people might like the visibility Better at bedrock and i think that’s just because you probably played bedrock for quite some time but i think if i was to do a poll and let people vote on their personal preference i feel like console edition would win every single time because i think visually pleasing console edition is hands down Better so what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna now install a gamma resource pack so we’re just here on the bedrock version now i’ve disabled any resource pack that i would previously have enabled i usually have a lot of them i usually prefer to have like cool totems better backgrounds Uh damage indicator and stuff but i want to show you pure and simply the pack itself now what i’m gonna do is i have my settings on this which is the brightness already to a hundred percent there is no gamma option on this there’s no other settings that can visually change this Obviously you can reduce this and i’ll show you that in game now what i’m gonna do is use my previous underground series now known as survival stories to show you what the bedrock version looks like now compared to when the pack is enabled so i don’t want to say that the bedrock version Looks terrible i’ve kind of become to accept it and i guess the more you use something you just kind of forget about it and gamma is something that a lot of players do certainly forget about but i’m looking forward to putting a gamer pack on this and seeing the differences this is My new house and i feel like you’re really gonna be able to check this in um in caves what i’m gonna do is i’m just gonna lower the brightness down although i don’t feel like the brightness makes too much of a difference on the likes of your windows 10 versions I’m not seeing any background change here but we’ll leave it at zero for now i guess it’s more cave related than anything else um just having a quick visually a visual look at my house we’ll have a quick look at the the farm over here and we’ll go and have a quick look Inside my cave and and have a quick look at how how it looks a zucchini compared to when we have the pack on so i’m going to change the brightness real quick see if it makes ah you can see a slight difference so you can definitely see the difference in caves Obviously in terms of gamma doesn’t change it brightens it up it darkens it up um we’ll use this for example so i mean without torches what is in here by the way i don’t think there’s anything special in there is it got an apple okay i don’t think there’s anything i mean I’ve accepted the bedrock version that’s all i’m gonna say is i’ve accepted it and what we’re gonna do is do the exact same walk of preview that i’m doing right now uh on console edition it might look a lot darker if anyone’s got this installed or does install this on xbox with your Playstation 4 just let me know if you see much of a difference i think that’s enough of a preview let’s go back to the exact same point and let’s put this pack on so the download is below it’s really simple to install you can download the dot mcpack or you can download The zip file now it’s a global resource pack so go into settings and go into global and it’s this one it says appliance a semi-transparent overlay to emulate the gamma option from the legacy console edition there’s no read more you activate this now i’m not gonna lie the main menu for this Does not look great again this is how the console edition used to look and again i feel like people begin to they’ve begun to accept how the bedrock version looks the main menu doesn’t look great but i’m not gonna lie i really don’t care because it’s how it’s gonna look in game That’s gonna make the difference same world let’s go so here we go this is how it looks now something i did forget to do is kind of have a little bit of a look at the water it kind of adds like a glint it’s probably the best way to explain it But it definitely does add a much better vibrance i’m also really curious though is if doing this will make much difference with it i don’t think your brightness is gonna make much difference at all house looks okay farm also looks okay and you can something i’ve noticed with this Is uh the tilled grass this you can see how much brighter this is it looks a lot wetter and soggier on the other version so why is there cave sounds so that’s definitely something i’ve uh i’ve noticed with this pack straight away but again i feel like the difference With the gamma is is usually inside caves but we’ll go inside the nether as well because i’m curious to see how the gamma setting would look over there so this is what i did before settings video and brightness so yeah you can definitely see a difference in the background this is Going to make it a lot easier so this is something i do like it looks way better in a cave system than it does above ground and in terms of visibility down here same chest yeah it doesn’t seem to have any problem it does seem a lot more a Lot more mistier though so if we were to lower this down how does it look like this now that is dark okay that’s a lot darker it’s a shame that there’s no way to how does that look it looks alright it i i still prefer it i honestly prefer the gamma setting Compared to not having a gamma setting oh it looks a lot better when there’s a couple of torches placed down though it’s just visually more pleasing uh let’s go to the nether now i do remember the never feeling and looking like this full console edition i really really do Now what i’m gonna do is go a little bit further over here so i’m not suspended over lava for a start but what i’m gonna do is now disable the pack so let’s do that and this is how it looks without the pack now i think it’s going To be down to a personal preference oh god didn’t mean to do that that’s an enderman to see how to see what you do and do not like you know you might really really like using the gamma style you might not like it at all he is Really angry with me but i thought i’ll do this anyway in case anyone was interested in a gamma pack if you guys have enjoyed today’s video please be sure to hit that like button and i still don’t have any emotes activated so i’m just gonna say goodbye and have a great day and Yeah i’ll catch you next time bye you Video Information
