TurtyWurty – Minecraft Modding Tutorial 1.12.2 – Episode 39 – Fences Buttons Pressure Plates

Hey what’s going on guys test ERC here and welcome back to another minecraft modding 1.12 point 2 tutorial and in this one we’re going to be going over how to create custom fences pressure plates and buttons as none of these are extremely hard to do if this video is

Long that is because of the jason’s and which you can just get from the description anyways but hopefully it shouldn’t take too long even with the jason’s so i’m just gonna get started straightaway and stop talking and so first we go and create the fence so you

Want to do public static final block and we’re gonna call this silver underscore fence that possibly needs to equal a new block silver fence and then we’re going to have just a normal and string for the parameter so I’ll see that will be silver score fence

Just like that and in fact let’s create all the block variables first and then we can go from there so then we need a public static final and this is going to be the pressure plate so block silver underscore pressure plate that obviously needs to equal a new block silver pressure plate

And this is obviously going to bed well not obviously but this is going to take in the parameter string name and like all the others so that is just going to be silver underscore pressure plate sorry I said that slightly wrong it’s silver underscore pressure underscore plate and that’s quite important that

You do have it with underscores for both or all three words and next we’re going to create the button and so obviously public static final block and this is going to be silver underscore button make sure we spelled button right that’s obviously gonna equal a new silver a block silver button

And this is gonna take in string name again so obviously we put silver underscore button so now that’s all our block variable all our block variables done and now we need to create all these classes so in objects blocks we’re going to create a new class and we’re gonna do

The fence first so block silver fence just like that this needs to go ahead and extend a lot fence and just import block fence and we need to create the constructor in the argument so we’re going to put a string name and then we need to super off of two things so we

Need to super off of the material so mine is going to be material dot metal or iron I think it’s called yep iron and it also takes in map color so map color dot and there is a lot of map colors so I will actually go ahead

And show you what each of these map codes will look like so I’m just going to open this so this is what each of the map colors look like so you can obviously choose the one you want and I’m going to choose snow as that is known as the white one

This will be left in the description and if you’re interested or you can just pause the video so got snow then we need to go ahead and set the under local eyes name and registry name so it set a localized name registry name then you need to set the creative tap sound type

And hardness and resistance and harvest level and if you want so that’s a creative fab okay so now that’s all of those done next we need to add it to blocking it blocked and ice a minute door items so it will be blocking it blocks to add

This and item minute door items don’t add a new item block of this and dot set reg rename import item block and dot set registry name do this don’t get registering name just like that and make sure you import and save everything and now you can go back into your block in

It and import block silver fence so now we have the fence done next we can go ahead and create the pressure plate so create a new class and cool it block silver pressure plate this is going to extend block pressure plate so you can create this a weighted pressure plate by extending block

Weighted pressure plate somewhere yeah block pressure plate weighted you can use that if you want and I think it’s just the same thing so all we need to here is just add the constructor and put in a string name then we need to super off of two things so we need super

Off the off of the material and the sensitivity so super and we’re gonna do material to iron and the sensitivity is what it reacts to when you put on top of it so for example wouldn’t pressure plates if you step on it or if you put

An item on it and it will send a redstone pulse however for stone pressure plates if you put an item on it it didn’t do anything and but only if used to happen it it reacts so for this we put sensitivity dot and when we put dot we have

Everything and mobs so because ours is similar to a stone pressure plate we want to put mobs and but obviously you can change that to everything if you want now if we just need to do the same as the fence so if we actually go back

Into the fence class and we copy all of this so everything there we can just go ahead and put that in here and now that is pressure plate done so the button is very similar to the pressure plate and so we’re just going to create a new class and we’re going to

Call this block silver button this is going to extend block button kind of so if you extend block button now when you get to this you either have the option of stone or wood or normal button but you don’t want to extend and the top one

This is the abstract class that both of these use so you can create your own one like block button metal and if you want but I’m just going to be using stone so what this means that those stone buttons I think have I think they emit the

Redstone pulse for a shorter amount of time or longer I think it’s shorter and then wooden bands so crack me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure it’s shorter and so yeah all we need to do here is go ahead and add the constructor and once again

Put in string name then we need to go back to silver fence or pressure plate and just copy all of this stuff again I don’t want it closed so I’m just set those there and that is the silver button done so that’s actually all the Java code done make sure you import all

Of these um which if you didn’t know you can do by ctrl shift o you do those all at the same time it will import everything and give that a save so now that is all the Java code done next is for the Jason’s which are going to be

Quite a bit longer and they will all be in the description and well they will be in my github I’m not going to link every single one because there are quite a lot but they’re all in my github which is in the description so just go to the

Resources assets tutorial mod and you will be able to find all the Jason’s so first we’re going to do the block States so this this is gonna get kind of long this part and as it’s the longest part so you want our silver and score fence just remove everything inside of that

And copy the one here and can we grab the we can and perfect then we needs just replace cherry with silver there we go that’s the fence done then we can copy this and paste and put and silver underscore pressure and it will plate so you can obviously go ahead and once

Again delete all of this paste it in replace those two maybe yeah there you go place that there you go that’s the pressure plate done we’re just going to copy that again and paste it for B button so silver ansible button just open that once again delete everything

Inside and copy d1 from my github so we’re just gonna replace these and we’re gonna replace cherry with silver and there you go your buttons done so now in the we’re gonna do the lang and just really quickly because this shouldn’t be long so tile got silver and so offense

Got name is a silver fence then we have the button then we have the pressure plate there we go and that’s the Langley yeah next we can go ahead and do the block models and so these obviously do get kind of big and so first we’re gonna do

The button this time it didn’t really matter what were you doing and so we want silver underscore button go down to silver button and replace the whole thing here with and this um I get up of course and you want to go ahead and replace the mod

ID of your mod ID so just replace all and this one is cherry planks parities cherry planks and just replace that with silver block there you go that is the button done then you just want to copy that button one you want to paste it again and this is gonna be silver and

Score button and score inventory so this is the one for what you hold in your inventory and we use that for the item model so you’re just going to replace this whole thing in fact just cool it and just replace button the button owns what inventory and that’s all you need

To change for that one then we’re gonna copy that again so copy we’re gonna paste it so this is gonna be silver button underscore pressed this one you’re just going to replace inventory we’ve pressed and that is that one done then we have the fence so you’re just going to copy silver button

And we’re gonna call this silver printable fence and we’re gonna do the inventory one first inventory you’re just gonna replace with button underscore pressed with vent underscore inventory I’m just doing this for speeding yes but you can obviously copy them from my github so that is the

France inventory and copy that paste it and this one is going to be instead of inventory it’s going to be post and where’d that go there it is so just replace inventory with post just like that it’s possible that one might mess wine these up by doing it this way but I

Doubt it next we just have side so instead of post you put aside and just replace post website luckily most of these parent in fact all of these parent off of the vanilla block models so we don’t actually have to do much work with the Jason’s next we’re just going to

Copy side and we’re gonna put silver underscore pressure don’t scroll plate and scroll down so we’ve got the pressure plate down got a pressure plate up so we’re gonna do silver no no that stays the same we just placed this pressure plate let’s go down go that is the pressure plate down then

We’re just going to copy that we’re gonna paste it and replace down with up as you probably expected once again place down with up and that’s actually all of the and block models next we have the item models so these are actually slightly different so the first one

We’re gonna do silver and it’s for button and we need to copy this one and replaced the mod ID tutorial mud sorry about my dog barking by the way the postman just came so yeah that just happened and then you just want to copy that and put it the same thing back for

The cherry fence but not cherry god silver underscore fence and replace this with fence post button with fence then we want to do the same for the pressure plate except the pressure plate doesn’t have an inventory and thing it’s just a pressure plate so silver and scroll

Pressure plate yeah and this uses the silver and water pressure and it’s called plate underscore up so that’s what these silver pressure plate uses now that should actually be everything done so now we’re going to go ahead and we’re gonna run the game and I also get

That every single time for some stupid reason and but yeah I will see you guys in the game okay so guys my game actually crashed and I forgot to set the hyung localized name and registry name in our pressure plate class so you just need to do that and you probably did do

That but I’d totally missed it somehow and I think when I was copying I didn’t copy that part or something so yeah I’m just gonna go back into the game and hopefully it’ll work this time okay so guys as you can see we just got into the game and I’ve swings creative

Clap and just got all of these out so first we’re just gonna place down the block the stairs the slab the fence then the fresh plate and the button and obviously let’s get some redstone some nice redstone dust and we’ll get a lamp adjuster test so we can test the

Pressure plate as well okay so now if we press this button there you go just like that and if we step on the pressure plate there you go if you drop an item on the pressure plate it isn’t work because it’s only sensitive to player so yeah that’s

That’s that and you can connect the fences up in any many millions of ways and just obviously many ways to connect the fences there you go fences whoo yeah I wouldn’t do that again that’s you probably really loud I just don’t realize how loud I am
