If you’ve been in a rush to get Minecraft’s new brush you might not have known there are actually free installments for it in fact there are 20 items in Minecraft on which enchantments will fit leaving you as a player with some serious decisions which can be make

Or break and so today I wanted to guide you through everything to do with enchantments in a way that isn’t fake this is everything you need to know about enchanting from how you get the experience to how you actually use the enchanted books to most importantly which enchantments you should have on a

Given piece of gear including the controversial debates that you see here however to give you some nice fast information we can avoid all of those debates by saying that for a flint and steal the objective best way to enchant it is putting Unbreaking and mending on

It the same is true for the shears the carrot on a stick the warp fungus on a stick and the shield each of these five items once I’m breaking and mending and that’s really cool because it makes this lovely glow but if you’ve never Enchanted before how do you get these

For yourself you might want to know well let’s go through and let’s show you because the obvious way to enchant is using and Chapman table crafted like so and it looks like this when you place it with a book which goes towards you this will allow you to use your levels or

Experience at the bottom of the screen to enchant things so for example I can enchant my never right shovel it’s just going to cost me three lapis lazuli and three enchantment levels alongside having a requirement of eight however you don’t want to be spending uh you

Know like uh so so little amounts on your never right shovel uh if you’re going to you want to make sure there are bookshelves around it you can increase the level at which you can enchant your stuff by making sure there are bookshelves on all sides in this case

Having just 15 bookshelves will get me level 30 enchantments that can get me Unbreaking free the enchantment I just said was so good you won on everything however if I want that I need to get to level 30 so how do you get the experience to begin with well to give

You a very brief guide so it’s early game Minecraft and you need XP what do you do after you’ve chopped your first tree the easy answer is you can kill mobs you can mine ores or smell them up and you you can also breed mobs together any of these pre-activities will give

You a small amount and then get a lot of it together and you’ll slowly grow up in the levels each of your levels is progressively harder to earn than the one before it so keep that in mind but if you want to get a lot of it then you

Really just need to go to the nether courts because it’s just begging to be mined and gives you a large amount of experience per or mind you can also breed and kill mobs this has the fun side effect of giving you XP but has the slightly less fun side effect of

Teaching you about factory farming I mean you’re literally raising the mobs just to kill them but I don’t have any ethical concerns which is why I recommend killing the dragon this is a huge task for an early Minecraft world but killing the dragon is the single

Best source of XP at least when you do it the first time however for me back in my Minecraft world I just want to get a quick bit of XP and so what I’m going to do instead is just disenchant an item using the grindstone A little known

Source which can get you a little bit up there which is really handy because then you can re-enchant the item if you really want to but more importantly it’ll give you experience for enchanting other things such as me being finally able to get Unbreaking and efficiency on my shovel however getting Unbreaking on

My shovel is easily done just like that but if I want to get mending on there it’s not possible with the enchantment table no matter how many times I break and uninsurp my shovels I’ll never find mending on there and so what do you do instead you need to get enchanted books

The second way that you enchant after you’ve got your XP is you can use an anbuilt this is slightly more expensive and has the huge requirement of requiring enchanted books here’s a fun one which doesn’t have an enchantment on it it’s just a book that happens to be

Enchanted uh if you want to say put mending on your shares then you’re going to need to spend uh some experience but most importantly you’re going to need to have a book so how do you get your hands on enchanted books well the first way is obviously you can this is gonna blow

Your mind right like how do you get enchanted books well you can take a book in Minecraft and you can enchant it wow unexpected however but not only is this quite inefficient and quite slow and uses a lot of lapis but it also you can’t find all enchantments this way

There are lots of enchantments called treasure installments you will never find like this and so my recommendation is to use the other free methods the first way is treasure whenever you find a random chest in the world in any of these structures by the way you will be

Able to find yourself enchanted books which might contain the right things on them you want a more reliable method you can go fishing when I first wanted mending on my elytra after maybe I died 12 hours away from home I fished for 12 hours specifically looking for that rare

Book and because it takes so long for these first two methods randomly hoping for the right thing uh instead what people prefer is the more repeatable method and realistically the only method that exists in some players brain off repeatedly trading with villagers time and time again if you continuously reset

A villagers trade with a librarian in particular he’ll give you a new enchanted book which he’ll trade every single time as long as you don’t make any trades of him you can reset it enough times that he’ll give you the right thing in this case we wanted

Mending and so that is wonderful to see now that is how you get your hands on any given enchanted book so that is how you get the very particular enchantments we’re talking about today which is important because now we’re back here and we can talk about exactly which

Installment is better for each given situation like I said already for when it comes to The Mending shares when it comes to carrots on a stick or when it comes to any basic item The Mending and Unbreaking are just always better there’s no competition it wins all the

Time uh but it is a bit more complicated when it comes to things like this is this the best bow the answer might surprise you because the answer is no anyway with that said let’s actually go into each of these controversial situations one by one so let’s start

Things off with efficiency because this is the closest thing Minecraft has to a no-brain enchantment this is the speed of a never I pickaxe with no efficiency on it as you can see I’m going very very fast it’s pretty nice but this is the speed of that same pickaxe with

Efficiency on it is a nice increase in speed speed it’s probably least noticeable of never right but it is still a big upgrade that you might as well have if you ever can the only reason not to is if you can’t afford efficiency or I personally tend to use

It for my fortune pickaxe because we want to be very particularly mining one block at a time and not mine more by accident it can be easy to do that with efficiency and it’s harder without it but in general efficiency is always a very efficient choice of Enchantment

Then the only question is whether we should have silk touch or Unbreaking this is a fortune pickaxe this is a silk touch pickaxe and the difference is in how they mine certain blocks so for example mining a uh you know like mining an iron ore with silk touch will give

You an iron all right back this is how it used to be by default in Minecraft but now if you mine it with a regular pickaxe or one with Fortune you’ll get more of the resources inside these enchantments are mutually exclusive and so which one do you go with well the

Answer to this debate is if you want to keep the block to use as a block you want to place iron ore everywhere let’s say for a demo where you want to show people uh which oars they should mine and which enchantments to use then obviously you you want to use silk touch

However otherwise if you just want to turn the coal straight into cold blocks then you might as well mine it straight up the only exception to this you could argue is if you’re going on a mining trip and you want to have a smaller stack in your inventory but even then

Raw iron and coal and raw any other thing can be turned into blocks they’re pretty fun looking blocks that people forget about um but they do exist and so in general Fortune is the better all-round enchantment and silk touch is very good for getting particular blocks such as mining directly for Stones such

As getting the all blocks themselves and all sorts of other weird things like mushrooms but we’re not head States talk about mushrooms although it is worth saying I do have myself the non-mushroom version of that beautiful mob and I’m gonna shoot one right now to show you

How wonderful a crossbow is here is a crossbow here is a crossbow quick charge this is what it’s like to draw a crossbow it’s pretty nice as you can see and here’s what it’s like to draw a crossbow with Quick Charge free it is very fast to reload and it’s very very

Good I I would say this is the Premier weapon for quick range attacks at some form of distance so quick charge is the go-to however multi-shot and piercing are a little bit harder to work out so here’s the deal piercing allows you to shoot through multiple targets so here

Are three cows let me shoot all of them in a row wow collateral Boom headshot or whatever you want to say there but multi-shot allows you to do basically the same thing you know get a three in one kill but do it on three separate

Counts or in that case too which one of these two is better I would say for most people it is multi-shot because multi-shot shoots three separate arrows which can be really handy for all sorts of situations however I would say that piercing is really great if you have particular situations where you know

Mods will be lined up one behind each other but again I personally am a multi-shot fan especially if you’re using something like fireworks because multi-shot will multiply even fireworks which I just think is really cool if nothing else and uh yeah you can use it for really insane effect if you feel

Like it speaking of insane effect an insane effect is not the crossbow but it’s the regular bow if you put flame on it it will shoot fire out of it this is a really cool addition to to any Arrow tipped or Not by the way and you can use

It to explode CNC at a distance and if you go real close to the TNT it even hurts you a little bit too isn’t that wonderful anyway so uh this is really great for making cooked food I’ll use More Cows right there to prove that but

It’s also a question off the boat as whether you should use power or punch punch is an ability kind of like knock back on a sword which will shoot enemies back as you can see super super far whereas power is the ability to do much more damage oh it’s the same bow Powers

The ability to massively increase the damage from above leading to one hit kills not just on cows but even on spiders and other major mobs it’s a serious amount of damage you do have a power 5 Bow and this is what I recommend for PVP combat and punch is just there

To annoy people if you’re fighting other players speaking of fighting players you might have a the one of the big debates in the bow world is mending versus Infinity which of these two bows is the one you want to use well for most people I would say The Mending makes sense but

There is a caveat here so uh infinity allows you to shoot info infinite arrows one Arrow becomes an infinite number as long as they’re not tipped out as that is and a mending bow will last forever as long as you feed it XP what is more important having infinite arrows or

Infinite bow well if the bow is Enchanted otherwise then obviously you want to prepare that you wanna keep that around repair it using mending but if you’re just going to have a bow with nothing else on it Infinity is the better choice I think this really also

Comes down to if you are in the Nether and you have bad aim and you really just can’t afford arrows for some reason then obviously it goes without saying you absolutely need to have Infinity but most people have more value in the oh wow that was pretty cool huh most people

Have more value in the bow than the arrows themselves which is why mending is usually the winner of this battle and in fact I’m going to go ahead and say it uh 99 of players should put mending on their bow and infinity is just a meme but memes are pretty valid too speaking

Of being valid uh mending is a ability which doesn’t just work on Bose by the way it’s obviously this is where the big question comes up it works on shares it works on on brushes it works on fishing rods if you feel like it and the way

This works is when you get experience which will simulate right now it allows that item to heal up fully you might have seen that there but if you didn’t let me show you my shares wow my shares sure are damaged and they won’t break these shoes don’t have anything on it

Wow my crossbow sure is damaged allow me to heal it up to full using XP you get experience from many things in your Minecraft world and if you want to convert that into healing then that is what mending is therefore a great way to extend the life of something which has

Lots of other enchantments on there I would say mending by itself is actually a fairly weak enchantment but mending alongside something else entirely worthwhile next up let’s talk about water-based enchantments because the fishing rod comes around braking and mending like you might expect but it also comes with two fishing rod

Exclusive enchantments luck of the sea and lure lure increases the rate of something biting the player’s hook whereas luck of the sea increases the chance of it being treasure so luck of the sea is higher quality loot whereas lore is more of it you can combine the

Two together and it has some some slightly weird effects but in general this is the best way to make a fishing rod if you’re willing to get more fish in exchange for more drops because luck of the sea reduces the chance of the very much fish and also indeed junk so

Now you can see as we go fishing we’re going to get ourselves some raw Cod very very quickly this is just the way to use a fishing rod uh rarely do you have to choose between the few of them and in general when you go fishing you’ll actually find fishing rods which have

These enchantments on them so it’s actually worth Just Fishing until you get a decent fishing rod which is the fun way that Minecraft Works in my opinion speaking of fun ways Minecraft works most people probably don’t play around with tridents but they especially don’t know about the two different types

You have so there’s the Aquaman fork and the adorable hole launcher here to represent the riptide and the Loyalty enchantment so there is technically speaking another exclusive in Shaman here which is impaling so impaling is the ability to do extra damage to monsters in water it’s mostly not very

Useful but if you want a one-hit KO uh salmon as you can see that’s the thing there however the other cool thing about this is the Loyalty enchantment which again called here the Aquaman Fork because when we throw the Trident at anything I can throw as far away as I

Like it will always come back to you the different levels of loyalty tell you how fast it will come back just like in the real world if you enchant your hoe with loyalty uh this the level of enchantment that tells you how soon it will come back after a big mistake whereas uh

Riptide is mutually an exclusive because Riptide turns you into the Trident if you don’t know what that means allow me to show you well hitting a salmon I’m sorry big salmon I should have hurt your medium friends over there but um if you want to you can use uh the riptide

Enchantment to go flying through the air without having to have an elytra however it’s worth saying having an elytra makes this work so much better because look at that I’ve Riptide myself into the air I fly over here and then I do the exact same thing to get back Riptide into the

Sky and then wait we have to do a little bit higher up than this if you want to go well Riptide into the sky and then fly away but here’s the wonderful thing both impaling and Riptide work better while it is raining it’s such a cool effect to me because you genuinely don’t

Need no a liter you can just keep throwing yourself into the sky and it feels like it shouldn’t work seriously let me show you this from a distance no it really feels like it shouldn’t work it’s not a safe thing to do whatsoever but my God is this one of my favorite

Things in Minecraft oh yeah so fun just getting speed boost for free here it is incredible you will outrun your Minecraft world you’ll hit a wall bad things will happen but while those bad things aren’t happening this is the fastest way to travel seriously I have crossed my Minecraft world and now I

Will come back the only things you should watch out for if you do intend to travel quickly via Riptide in the rain is that it will not work when it’s snowing as you can see I can’t use this whatsoever and it also won’t work in desert biomes where there is no rain so

Keep those things in mind or you might end up stranded in the middle of the Year something most people don’t want and also if you’re using a Riptide enchantment eating fish pills a bit mean oh my God it’s going so fast I can’t see anything

Okay so yeah it’s a fun way to get around your world however let me show you something else that’s fun because did you see that that was the channeling enchantment I’m gonna try and hit the hit the Phantom again here and show you how every single time you hit any mob

With this enchantment while it’s thundering they will be hit like they are a lightning rod you could well like I am a lightning rod apparently which allows you to do some seriously cool things let me show you right here all of these pigs turning into zombie pigmen

You can do the same with villagers turning into witches and you can do all sorts of other wacky things with the channeling and Shaman it is one of the best in Minecraft but it only works when it’s thundering which is very very rare speaking of rare Soul speed is one of

The rarest enchantments in Minecraft because it is only found in Bastion chests on books and sometimes traded for from Pig lens directly you cannot get this in an enchantment table you have to equip it like this and once you put it on it looks like they’re normal boots

Until you go on Soul Sand or Soul soil when things get a little bit wacky and although this uses up a lot of durability from the boots it’ll allows you to go faster than basically anything else in Minecraft making a soul speed pathway just to use Soul speed on

Genuinely might be worthwhile and it’s a really fun idea if nothing else however speaking of other rare enchantments the curses are also quite rare there is cursive binding and curse of Vanishing cursor binding will stay on you until you die which is why it would be funny

If you could put it on cursed pumpkins you can’t actually do that in a default Minecraft and the curse of Vanishing will vanish upon your death these are considered precautious so they have these big red levels to them but they work like in shamans in every single way

Besides maybe being slightly less than desirable I mean think about it when I diet this never right helmet Will Survive even dropping in lava but when I die with this leather helmet which oh it’s such a good leather helmet right I mean it doesn’t have efficiency on it

But it’s pretty good otherwise but this leather helmet is really really nice are you not just in case just just in case that you don’t know about efficiency yet uh you’re not meant to get it on helmets but you can sometimes in Bedrock because of weird bugs um but weird bugs are not

The reason for leather cap it’s just a punishment to teach you to buy better armor or something speaking of buying better armor one of the best ways you can buy things is not with money but with threats of death and that is where a sharpness sword comes in so a sword is

Obviously really good for hitting things but a sort of sharpness is a great way to do more damage to everything sharpness is the go-to and Shaman for the vast majority of the Minecraft Community because you hit something and it does dead and that’s real good speaking of doing dead

Um a great way to do the exact same thing is to Cav a fire aspect on there because then when a mob dies it will die with its loot uh pre-cooked which is really handy for getting cooked beef or steak if you’re a medium salmon player

But the other thing that you can do using a fire aspect is just harm other players because no one wants to be on fire which is why uh if you want to avoid house fires by the way greater than 99 of those kind of people who aren’t subscribed to the channel and so

Statistically the best way to avoid them is by subscribing to your favorite Minecraft British person who hopefully is me anyway speaking of Favorite Things uh killing a mob with looting has an extra benefit of killing the mob but also getting more drops from them this is the only in Shaman which has no

Effect whatsoever on PVP because players don’t drop extra Loot and it also will not affect your odds of getting an armor trim from the Elder Guardian very sad um but as far as everything else goes you’ll get more loot or more often loot from enemies which is a really good

Thing speaking of really good things um there are two other options on a sword if you want to do extra damage sharpness does damage against everything but if you want more damage against fewer things there is Smite which only works against Undead mobs that is the zombie skeleton with the skeletons the Wither

Boss itself but also zombie piglens and a whole bunch of other things that you might not expect and then there’s been a five pods which works on cave spiders spiders silverfish endemites and bees it works on bugs monsters which you know you might think wow that’s five mops toy cat no look at

The health for those five mobs they are all next to basically dead already when they spawn into the world you really don’t need to have been a five pods but if you wanted to you could do the most damage against bugs you know is a pigger

Bug no is anything you’d want to kill a bug no but if you wanted it it does exist but I’m just gonna give it to this guy right here enjoy your sword buddy I mean I did take his helmet that’s the least I could do speaking of the least I

Could do I really haven’t gone into most of the armor specific and shamans these are kind of some of the cooler ones because they basically upgrade you as a player put depth Strider on your boots for example and now you can swim through water much easier well rather it’s kind

Of walk through water isn’t this nice I think it is I’ll take the enchantment off real quick so you can see the difference this is me walking through water normally this is me walking with depth Strider swimming does defeat the point to some extent but it’s a nice

Thing to be able to mine and do stuff with blocks while also having a nice little enchantment uh but if you don’t like depth Strider maybe you’ll like respiration this allows you to hold your breath for longer underwater so respiration allows you to hold your breath for longer while the aqua

Affinity in Shaman allows you to mine blocks easier this is me mining some dirt underground with the aqua fantasy and this is me mining blocks underground without her it’s not a huge difference because it’s a never right shovel with efficiency but you still can genuinely notice it and especially at the earlier

Game you’ll really notice the difference so with that in mind let’s put the turtle shell back on by the way the turtle shell itself isn’t an enchantment by the way but it does give you water breathing when you use it kind of blurring the line between gear enchantment and potion but something

That doesn’t do that is Frost Walker Frost Walker was the first ever treasure enchantment which means that when you go onto magma you won’t take damage and when you go on water you can walk on it you have ice cold boots which means you never have to take damage and this has

Some really weird applications I mean pushing items below the surface maybe not one of its best ones but being able to have someone follow you around on Ice boat that sounds pretty fun uh most players do not use Frost Walker because it’s quite annoying to get in the water

When you want to and in general if you wanted to cross an ocean it’s faster to do it via other means but it’s a nice idea right speaking of nice ideas uh we also have the Thorns enchantment which means when you get hit by something let’s say a zombie you’ll deal damage

Right back to it so this zombie okay we’re gonna have to mine our way in there come on friend you can you can no okay as you can see right here I’m taking damage and he totally took damage because of that you’re not terrible example uh but Thorns will do damage

Back to things that attack you this will deal damage to your armor and so many players avoided this for a long time but now that mending exists generally speaking fawns is just as acceptable as you’d want it to be uh the alternative to just having thorns on to reduce your

Damage taken is having projectile protection so obviously there is something called protection in Minecraft this is an enchantment that gives you extra protection from damage uh maxed out protection gear on all of your stuff gives you an extra uh you know 66 damage reduction which is really nice uh but

Having projectile production reduces it even more but only specifically against projectiles so the sorts of things where you shoot at stuff let me show you some examples oh dear God oh Lord as you can see I’m taking so many skeleton Arrow damages right now but I’m not taking actual damage because

Of my projectile protection which is really nice the same can be said for explosive protection also known as blast protection so blast protection does the same thing but for explosions if we please don’t beat too many explosions okay if we have a TNT drop in our face

It will deal some damage but it won’t kill me like it probably should have right and so with that said um that is the bulk of Minecraft enchantments covered now just for the tiny Niche ones fire protection provides damage from fire reduction however with that said uh

There is a fire protection potion which provides more so you wouldn’t really want to use this because you know fire still sucks but if you do it does still exist and then we’ve got regular protection which is damage reduction from everything the only other type of protection worth knowing about is

Feather falling this will give you a full damage reduction so these are my feather falling boots and if I equip them even mid full let me show you what it does for a huge amount of damage absolutely massively reduces it this is what you can find from an enchantment

Table and across the world as a whole oh also just one last installment it’s the newest one I always forget about it it’s a little bit weird to me let me know what you think about it I only just got it recently while looking for the silent

Stream but Swift sneak allows you to sneak just a little bit faster so here is my sneaking with normal trousers and here is my sneaking with swift sneak it’s a little bit better don’t you think but yeah that is every single enchantment in Minecraft and I hope that
