Hello everyone my name is pixel riffs and welcome back to the Minecraft Survival Guide if you guys are having a good days so today today’s today I think we’re gonna do something about the trading hall the trading hall has been a bit of a mess for a while we have a ton Of villages in here some of whom have unfortunately been attacked and killed by pillages and all of the villages in here are either legacy villages from minecraft 1.13 so they have different trades and so forth or they are 1.14 villages but from the early stages of 1.14 so they have all of the trades that you might expect from the current set of villages but there is unfortunately a bit of a problem with that and that is that they don’t trade as much as some of the villagers in one 14.4 do you can Only expect to get a few trades out of one of these before their trades lock up whereas that has now doubled in one 14.4 you can get sixteen trades out of a villager who would normally only trade you eight times before that particular trade locked up and that is what I want To change today so we’re going to start maybe over the course of the next few days we’re going to start setting up a more permanent villager trading setup around here which is going to be number one pillager proof to prevent them from dying and like they seem to have been And it’s also going to move all of these old villages out to what I’m thinking of as a retirement home and not gonna kill them because I still have a thing against the idea of killing villagers generating that kind of bad reputation that you get even though if you killed All of them you wouldn’t have any kind of problems with that it still doesn’t quite feel like the right thing to do so instead we’re gonna build them a villager retirement home today and I want that to be out of the way primarily because I don’t want any of my newer Villagers from around here attaching themselves to any of the workstations that are currently making sure that the older villagers can refresh their trades and so what I thought I might do is build a big house somewhere over here it’s gonna be out of the way it’s gonna Be a good distance away into the forest biome over here so that the villagers are hopefully in this radius won’t pick up those workstations and I think it’s going to be nice to have kind of country retirement house has a lot of mansion out here my own take on a Woodland mansion I guess it could be so that those villages have somewhere to live and somewhere that we can potentially go and rescue some of them if they have the particular traits that we want or if we need them to repopulate an area or work in an iron farm or something like that Villages are a nice resource to have around and I really don’t want them to all just go away as for the villagers who are still left in the village of Breda I have a feeling I’ll probably be moving them as well because despite the fact that these folks some of them at Least don’t have professions yet I think it is still the case that if they were bred in versions before 1.14 they are likely to not trade as much as the one 14.4 villages are and so I think I’m gonna move them out of here as well Maybe they can take up some of the professions that the villagers who died in here left workstations behind for like the loom here and the smelting smithing table here and that kind of stuff so I think we will probably move all of them out of here we’ll take down This old village of Breda which is of course no longer working and we’re gonna switch over to getting a supply of villages from at the village of Breda up here that’s gonna be our permanent source of one 14.4 villages from now on and there’s some news about that because Unfortunately as you can see over here this is no longer the villager mosh pit it once was instead it seems like I’ve been hanging around here during the night in close proximity to this place so zombies could spawn and a zombie managed to get a couple of these Villages now when one of the zombies burned up in the sunlight a couple of the villages were able to pick up items and as such staying in this pool of water they have not burned in the sunlight because the water obviously makes them immune to fire and they’re Holding zombie flesh so they do not de-spawn but any new villagers who have come down from the village of Breda have probably dropped themselves into this area which is a little bit unfortunate because they’re probably killed more or less instantly or converted instantly and then they D Spawn these two champs have managed to stick around what that means is we have a couple of zombie villages that we can potentially cure and turn into our new stock of villagers because I’m values that they are going to be some of the the newer one 14.4 villages which means We’ll get discounted trades right off the bat from these two but also we can start bringing stuff down from the mountain we can start bringing some villages down from the mountain and we can use them in this little area that I want to set up over here and while Initially I thought this could be a kind of trading town I’m thinking what I want to do is have something like the villager trading hall over here but a little bit grander a little bit more built up and a little bit more secure against pillager attacks and so what I’m Thinking about building out here is a large sort of circular or maybe even oval trading hall that’s going to be modeled a little bit after buildings you find in the UK called corn exchanges which you know in times gone past were big markets where people could come and Trade a whole bunch of stuff and I think that sort of fits the idea of what we want to do with villager trading in this place and it’s gonna be a little bit bigger than the trading hall it’s gonna be a lot more secure enclosed basically immune to any pillages spawning in from The outside and coming in so I think we’re gonna get started on first of all moving the villagers out of the old trading hall first taking down the old village a breeder probably even taking down the chorus fruit farm that I had set up over here and finding a more Permanent home for that in a future video for now though to make sure all of these villages stay safe and so that we can have somewhere to move them I think the first order of business is to build a big house out here in the forest and I Think we’re going to do that in the form of a time-lapse Hey folks welcome back I hope you enjoyed the time-lapse and I really like how this house came together I think it’s looking really really good we’ve got a lovely giant prismarine roof we’ve got a massive interior to work with and I think this place is going to be perfect For housing our villages could have big atrium here a big foyer a lobby whatever you want to call it I need to work a little bit on some of the features of the house like the lighting like the corridors and transitions and that kind of stuff but each of the chambers of This house is going to house a specific type of villager or at least that’s the aim obviously they’re gonna find their own meeting places and that kind of stuff they’re probably going to consider this a kind of small village and I guess we can probably figure that out as we go But here we go we’ve got a kind of kitchen area down here and I figure this is where we’re going to find most of the professions who work with either like food or animal products like leather workers and fishermen and shepherds and that kind of stuff like the folks who Are working with animals and stuff are going to be down here maybe we’ll give them a couple of animals to hang out with if the Shepherd needs some sheep that kind of thing but I figure we can you know like we can work with that as We as we come to it then down here we’re gonna have all I need to fill in the sandstone of the floor a little bit here we’re gonna have a kind of work area for folks like stonemasons and maybe some of the armourers can have their blast furnaces down here and the smithing Tables for the blacksmith’s and that kind of stuff so down here we can have more of a kind of work area a workshop floor where there’s maybe a little bit of sawdust as represented here by the sandstone on the floor and and things can get a little bit more kind of Workman like I guess up here on the left-hand side we’re gonna have the library a lot of lecterns lots of bookshelves a nice bit of lighting this was the stuff that I could find like quite easily cuz I have tons and tons of bookshelves stolen from strongholds all Over the world on the opposite side here I figure we could maybe have the clerics and folks like that some of the the other trades can go in here and we’ve also got a pretty large attic space up here as well if the other professions need it’s coming back down here of Course and up the stairs here we’ve got another section there are a lovely couple of balconies I’ve done my best to village approve this as best I can by which I mean I’ve tried to not create areas where villages can take a ton of fall damage this Staircase is an exception to that and I will probably have to make a couple of changes just to make sure that they aren’t all just dropping off the side of it like lemmings or something while I am away from at the house but I like this Place a lot and I think I have managed to iron out most of the issues with lighting although there are still a couple of places that might need a torch or two this back balcony out here is potentially at risk of mobs dropping from this island up here but I can light That up I could like the roof up I can do plenty to make sure that this whole thing is going to be a little bit more secure how you may wonder am I going to stop the villages from getting out of this house because villages are notorious for kind of wandering off in Various directions and that is gonna be quite a simple thing all I’m gonna do is put three rails in front of the entrance here like that and that is potentially if it maybe if I take this carpet away I don’t know if the carpet is really going To affect that but villages like other mobs will actively avoid walking over minecart rails because as with other mobs they are a little bit more concerned about making sure they don’t get in the players way when the player is traveling on a minecart rail or at least that is the hope in practical Terms it doesn’t always work out that way but by putting a few rails across the threshold of this doorway here we are hopefully guaranteeing that no villages will want to walk over the top of it now in the case that they are menaced from the outside by a zombies and stuff like That I’m not certain if that still takes priority but then the critters from the outside the mobs that are going to be spawning in this forest probably won’t want to walk over this rail either and obviously if that turns out not to be the case and We get some issues here and there I will do my best to block up the doorway or make it more like an iron door or something like that that the villagers will not be able to interact with but still allow at the player to travel freely in and out of the house that’s The plan at least and now let’s see if we can put that into action by bringing over to start with a few of the librarians they’re the ones who have the room up here that seems a little bit more put together at this point I still Need to do a bit of work on the interior if we’re gonna make this into a proper mentioned two hairs all of the villages we might need a few beds as well if they want to recognize this as their home but I also don’t want them breeding too much In here I don’t want them spawning iron golems I want them to be content in here but I don’t want them to see this as a village that needs expansion let’s say and so I think we’ll probably be alright if we leave a few of the beds out of Here and it’ll mean the villages are more active at night which means potentially they might be in the mood to get scared by some zombies or something like that but considering the amount I sleep while I’m around here hopefully we shouldn’t have to worry too much about That and most of the time I will be a little bit further away from the sight of this house in the first place so hopefully we won’t see too much activity from the villagers here anyway so at this point all the remains is to get the villagers over here from the trading Hall and that’s what I’m gonna do right now I’m gonna line this up roughly with where the trading hall is but we can always make a couple of adjustments to the rails once were over there gonna make a few temporary bridges and then we’re gonna start carting all of the Villages over here into their new home and we’re gonna start with this chap down here he has little books channeling for six emeralds it’s not bad there’s a few good traits in there but I think we’re gonna start you off as our guinea pig before moving into the new lodgings So let’s take out the lectern we will of course replace that once we’re over there let’s throw in a rail or two although I think that’s probably going to get sucked up by the piston here in just a second so let’s see if we can try And remove there we go we’ll remove that block down there we’ll remove that well remove the pressure plate down there just to make sure that this guy is going to get into the cart okay and we’ll roll the cart into you like so and yeah I think we’ll probably need to make a Couple of adjustments here there we go he’s in and with just a swift nudge in that direction there you go off along the rails and I’m pretty sure villagers will yeah they’ll follow that about the same rules that a player will in terms of momentum once they’re in the minecart Meaning that even though we don’t have large sections of powered rail here except down across the river here they should be able to roll their way right over into the new mansion over that unpowered rail that I left there and they’re in fantastic stuff we’ve got a Villager out here now the question is if I break them out of the minecart here are they going to want to run the rails and it looks like well looks like he’s making himself at home I guess there you go my friend enjoy exploring I will put a lectern upstairs for you and Then maybe if it’s the right time of day this guy will want to part fine to the lectern and get to work having now played bedrock edition a little bit one of the things I really think should be in the Java edition of the game is particle effects when a villager like Matches with a workstation when they kind of pair themselves with a workstation of their chosen type it would really help if there were those green sparkly effects in Java Edition as well as bedrock because this guy does seem to be pathfinding his way over to where the bookshelves are and the Lectern and there we go here’s pathfinder to the lectern he has made the lectern his own I even just heard him working and I think that is one of the things that I need to be super cautious about when I’m making my new set of villages my new villager trading Hall over here is making sure that they all pair up ok with the workstations they are supposed to be working at but it looks like that guy has taken it in his stride and I think now we can start bringing over some of the other villages this guy right here is another really Useful librarian he’s got fourteen three four seventeen emeralds but I think we will be able to get even better prices with some of the newer villages especially if we get a way of converting them regularly from zombies back into regular villages but I’m gonna get this Guy in the minecart and get him sent over there and looks like he will have a lovely time over in the retirement mansion as well yeah looks like he’s made it all the way over here let’s take him out of the minecart and it looks like he doesn’t want to cross the rails And leave the house either I will be keeping an eagle eye on the woods around here for the next little while just to make sure that none of them decide they want to escape from the house here and of course we could be a little bit more cautious when it comes to pillages Coming around here because of course they’re going to be able to attack villages from range and they might even ignore the rails if they are tracking towards some of the villagers who are in here so might have to be a little bit careful as far as those guys are Concerned but at least we will have our population of villagers stashed away up here in some of these rooms and making sure that they can do their thing and it looks like he is having a good old explore I just caught him on the spiral staircase yep he’s making his way back Down hopefully he should try and find the lectern sometimes going up and down stairs does tend to confuse them a little bit they’re not entirely sure where they’re supposed to be going but I think this guy’s just following me around because I look like somebody who Might have a couple of emeralds on him or something like that alright folks I think we are gonna call it there for today you get the idea though we are going to be retiring our other villages to this mansion in the forest and hopefully they will be able to live out A lovely and comfortable existence out here and starting tomorrow we’re gonna take a look at some of the newer villages and how we can use them to our advantage but that is gonna be here for this episode of the Minecraft Survival Guide thank you so much for watching I Do hope you enjoy the video if you did don’t forget to leave a like to subscribe if you want to see more I’ll see you guys soon take care and bye for now You Video Information
