Hello everyone and welcome back to this tutorial series on commands in Minecraft I’m code zealot and today we’re going to be looking at the kill command okay everyone so here we are right outside my base and we have a spawn zombie egg that we’re going to use to spawn a massive Army of zombies that we are going to kill with the kill command so to do that let’s go ahead and make it nighttime with the time set night command and then spawn that giant army of zombies now while we’re spawning these zombies let’s go ahead and just talk about the very Basics of this command and how we’re going to use it so the first thing we’re going to do is we’re going to acknowledge that the kill command can kill two types of things it can kill players and it can kill entities now every single mob in Minecraft is in fact An entity so we’re going to go ahead and start by using it in that way so now that we have this massive army of zombies that would certainly kill me if I was in survival mode we’re going to go ahead and type out the kill command now I want to note that unlike the other commands you’ve looked at if you type this command out and press ENTER it will not show you the syntax of the command but will instead kill you so don’t do that we don’t really need to know much about the syntax because it’s so simple All it is is the kill command and then who or what you would like to kill so we’re going to go ahead and use those target selector variables that we’ve learned about already and select all the entities now if we press Enter right now this will kill literally every entity in Our Minecraft world which is not what we want to do we want to kill just the zombies so let’s go ahead and use the trait of type set it equal to za B and then close the bracket and kill this giant army of zombies so now that we Know how to use the kill command to kill a specific type of entity let’s go ahead and learn how to do same thing only this time using a position selector if we type out the kill command and use the entity tag with the type of zombie and then press comma We can now use a position selector so let’s use the radius selector to kill just those zombies that are within 10 blocks of us currently if we close the brackets and press Enter only those aam be in 10 blocks of us will be killed let’s go ahead and up the Radius and we’ll fly over top here so we can see it in action and let’s set it up to 30 and press ENTER and there you go we’re now using the position selector in addition to the type trait in the kill command alright guys so now I want to Point out that players are also entities so what that means is if you use the kill command and select all entities and press Enter it will kill all of the mobs all of the items and things like armor stands and item frames and boats and Also all of the players on your map so if you want to kill everything except for the players what you can do is you can use the type trait and instead of using just the equal sign you can add an exclamation point after it and use the Type of player now what this does is it says that you want to kill all entities that have a type not equal to player in other words you want to kill everything except for players if we go ahead and press Enter we’ll see that everything is now dead except for us thanks for Watching this tutorial on the kill command in Minecraft and I’ll see you guys in the next video Video Information
