Okay everybody welcome back to learn with minecraft education today we’re going to be hooking up an xbox controller to our pc let’s dive in and take a look All right guys so the first we want to do is hit our start button and go to xbox accessories this is an app you can get from the app store and just turn on your controller should automatically detect it now if you want to update the drivers on This which you will need to do you need to plug it in via a usb cable it uses a usbc cable this one’s got usb type-c so whack it in the back and let it run an update just hit configure mine’s already been updated recently so i don’t Need to do it so let’s jump in to minecraft education edition with a controller so there’s a new hour of code hour of code 2021 craft new video coming on that ah shortly but in the meantime let’s jump in that’s cool isn’t it look at that anyway let’s Jump in let’s use a shader right let’s play like i say this is this is the newest xbox controller that comes with an xbox series x and we all know that minecraft is now owned or run by microsoft i don’t know if you’re gonna get one controller that’s Compatible with minecraft it’s gonna be one made by microsoft isn’t it that’s the point i’m trying to make i’ve got this is a controller i really like this is the controller this is the switch pro controller which is lovely but straight away as soon as you turn this on you’ll notice You can just start whizzing around and it works lovely look well okay i just fell to the floor but you see what i mean and my buttons all work around so you can fly with this i don’t know if i can i can change the view here With the arrows down arrow does nothing ah that goes to my chat what was it what did my right arrow went to my chat left arrow nothing i don’t know if there’s a way to go uh to for example start button to spawn the agent maybe do it let me see Here let me see here let’s go to settings i’ll click start and i go to controller sensitivity60 traveling like crafting see code builder um let’s let’s get code builder toggle to left arrow and let’s get pick block toggle to down arrow because they’re the ones i’m probably Going to use the most um so if i want this and then i can launch my agent with my down arrow this is going to be interesting i can’t close it i don’t think let’s launch make code this will be interesting my agent’s down there just staring at me Agent yeah so i can’t um i can’t get into any of this that isn’t surprising really but i can just wiggle over the mouse there it’s fine that’s all right isn’t it i can’t use the code builder how many people want to use code builder with their controller trying to type out your Python script works really nicely you can cruise around i’ll be doing a video on shaders next calendar year so january 2022 but now yeah if you’ve got a controller i think any generation of xbox controller works well you can plug it in directly through the usb download The xbox accessories app make sure it’s up to date with the latest firmware ah it works fine looks fine feels like i’m playing on a i don’t know an xbox prefer playing on a console i don’t know and you wanted to feel like you were playing just on a console there then Yeah you can do that there’s a chat work yes you can’t actually you can’t get a keyboard i don’t know how optimized it is uh for sending chat commands either maybe there’s a way to figure that out but for just casual playing uh if you just fancy having a game of Minecraft this is gonna do this is going to do everything you need fly down b what’s down here actually get down a ladder okay i was flying that was my fault it wasn’t the controller’s fault um what’s this guy doing a pick block it’s a brewing stand what’s he been brewing Yeah i’m not used to a controller i just destroyed the door what have you been brewing guys i’m gonna finish the video there really easy just turn it on detected it straight away as long as it’s installed on the latest driver you’ll be fine and Enjoy it i mean if you’ve got one of these controllers they’re really good if you’ve got one laying around and you want to play from the side of the room get it installed i hope you enjoyed today’s video please do like and subscribe and i will see you all next week Video Information
