Ultimate Minecraft Nostalgia – Ep. 6

Hey guys how’s it going this is xenops here and welcome back to Let’s Play Minecraft like the good old days again we are here in our wonderful uh hole in the ground I’ve got some resources together kind of in preparation for today made another diamond pickaxe made

An iron pick I made a hoe I used a bow got some arrows you know made some torches all that good stuff and I turned a couple of our carrots that we had in here into golden carrots with all of our cooked up gold so we have a little bit

Of food cuz food is a problem for us today uh we need food we need a sustainable source and uh we’ve got some guys up there who may be able to help us so I think we’re going to go up there and get those cows into a little pen so

They don’t wander off and un alive themselves and then we will start on today’s little projecty pretty much every mob in the game that we would want chickens pigs cows they’re all up here on this floating section right above our base which is kind of weird okay there’s one come here buddy

Put that in our hop bar uh where’s the other one there’s one right there I believe he is trapped let’s make him a way out and there’s our third one awesome let’s kind of walk these guys down I think I want them kind of down towards

The entrance of my base I don’t have to walk all the way up here just to get cows so safely and slowly we’re going to lead all of our cow friends down to the house all right and we’ll put them in this hole right next to our sheep

Friends come on down guys come on down and I’m going to push you in the hole there we go and we’ll breed these guys so that way we have four of them nice so now we’ve got sheep and we got cows cool awesome so that’s been

Taken care of I know it literally looks like it took a whole day for me to get them down here but I started the video kind of like midday so let’s uh run in here sleep the night away and then we will get on to the next little project

We have today all right and that is we need more resources specifically iron I want to be able to build farms and stuff and that’s going to require Hoppers and we’re going to need a lot of iron I don’t want to build an iron farm mainly because I don’t feel like messing with

Villagers what just happened up there I saw a puff of smoke and there’s just a spider what are you what are you doing up there anyway so we’re going to go down to the minine spend some time down there get some iron I don’t know how

Much of that I’m going to film just because is you know we we’ve kind of gotten past the point where I’m in the start game I mean come on we’re in full Decked Out Diamond so I think I’m just going to do some mining get some iron of

Course I’m going to film it all so I can show you all the ores I find we’ll do kind of a quick little time lapse of every little ore I found and then we’ll come back up and start work on this cow Farm I want to build and that’s what we’ll do Man I’m telling you guys these water caves they’re just literally the only caves that exist here and these last blocks here that’s the last one for that diamond pick that’s our first one we’re going to retire that one ooh spooky Cav sound uh sound like it was coming from that direction um so

Let’s dig that way stupid water caves I hate them why did they even add these to the game they’re terrible nobody likes them I just want to find a regular cave how hard is that like how hard is it to find a regular cave with air in it that’s all I

Want yet another one wow what a surprise I am so tired of these freaking caves Man I’m just I’m I’m going to go down to the bottom of the Earth where there’s lava because then I know there’s no water that that’s where I’m going I don’t care if it’s less frequently if it’s less frequent to find iron down there I don’t care I might get

Lucky and find an iron vein I don’t know but I’m going down to deep slate and I don’t care all right missed some gold there what how did I miss that how did I miss these what did I mine some other ore and just not see these what well

Okay I guess I screwed up I also went up to the top and uh deposited all my crap I had a full inventory of junk from when I was tunneling up there at the stone layer still going still trying to get iron but uh it’s less common down here hopefully

We can get lucky and find an iron vein or something yeah I’m going to explore this cave a little further Oh I goofed I didn’t think this was a big hole okay hole located um there is a ton of lava above me get out of this hole jeez oh he shot the bat come on shoot the creeper shoot the creeper oh gosh that was spooky that was

Very very spooky I was banking on him killing the creeper and he didn’t oh H there’s that M shaft again yep it’s the same M shaft I hear more dudes this way though oh yeah look at this we even got water an aquafer of course right above it I hear skellies above Me quite a few skellies Actually they’re right There oh it’s a dungeon It’s a skeleton dungeon oh my gosh okay there’s a lot of boys in here Skelly Fight disable the Dungeon get him get him yeah yeah buddy thank you for your sacrifice sir wow would you look at that we found a skeleton spawner that is awesome I knew I heard a lot of skeletons close by that is really cool now we’ve got a place for skeletons

And XP we can uh Farm some XP here let’s see gunpowder melon bucket and two of the same music discs ooh oh we got other side oh that is such a good disc I’m so happy about that heck yeah man got some good loot out of here nice well heck yeah man

Now that is awesome okay I really need to know where this comes out at I believe when we dug up from the M shaft oh there goes another Skelly boy when we dug up from the M shaft it led out over the ocean man missed every shot he took

Ooh we’re actually getting into a stone cave what a cave that’s made of stone it’s not aquafer if you can’t tell I’m a little salty oh boy it’s a big one uh-oh took care of those guys real quick ow zom bonies everywhere got them all yeah there’s tons of aquafers look

At all the water pouring down holy crap Ola but we found an actual cave it’s a real life cave and there’s tons of iron and diamonds oh we hit the motherload people we hit the motherload yeah baby ow got him nice and there’s yeah there’s just tons of water pouring out everywhere on

This because there’s so many aquafers around here my God aquafers are just annoying you can’t do anything with them at all they’re like water levels in a like a platformer they’re just terrible I hate them so so much and I I don’t know why I think I’m just salty

Because I’m getting so many okay okay okay this is not this is not ideal shoot the creeper got him shoot the creeper again don’t blow up damn it oh I wanted a record from the dude you took it from Me how dare you there’s so much iron everywhere look at how much iron there is right here just look at it all holy cow I’m going to mine it I’m so excited I’m just going to mine it all we needed iron so bad holy crap there’s tons of it sitting here too

I am so so happy about that tons of iron oh get in my inventory come with me ooh deep slate coal ore some good stuff right there deep slate coal take this uh lapis lapis lazuli I guess how you say it I don’t know I’ve been playing Minecraft for

This long and I don’t know how to pronounce lapis I yikes anyway I need to make some more torches so we’ll make a stack using 16 sticks blam perfect so much iron I’m so happy we absolutely needed all this that was just a random water block right there I hate it here Ah there’s so much good stuff around here I’m so happy that we found a really nice cave it’s got tons of what we were looking for in it I’m super happy with It oh all those guys just spawned in there’s tons of creepers there I wonder if I could get it a record for one of those guys need to be careful and not aggro any of them okay I just need that one creeper come on okay I’m going to punch him a couple of

Times all right now shoot him shoot the creeper you missed cuz you’re a terrible shot you’re awful at this get him get him get him now he blew up dang it I always bail a little too late okay so there’s another skeleton and Creeper combo creepers after me and here comes the

Skelly I’m going to see okay that doesn’t kill him all right come on shoot him just no my boy where’ my boy go oh oh oh that was kind of funny oh we got another one okay cool we’ve got we got another skeleton he just shot the bat not the bat

Ow come on get the creeper get the creeper get the creeper shoot the creeper yes we got him we got a purple record which one is it Maul nice we are developing our record collection slowly but surely heck yeah man and there’s still tons of iron to gather as

Well super happy about that I cannot believe that skeleton just fell all the way down there hi how’s it going down there I’m uh hand you some garbage hope hope you don’t mind he’s just going to chill down there for the rest of his life I guess cool red Stone some Gold So much good stuff man I’m taking it All Heck yeah we’ve almost got a Stack bet you thought I forgot about this diamond over here huh no I didn’t I was just saving it m good stuff Nice I’m going to Wombo Combo this Enderman ready well I can’t Wombo Combo him if I’m being shot at by a skeleton that threw off my groove man that was really close to my face whoa bro what a whiff I need to get rid of this water there we go water

Contained there’s a lot of creepers here yeah these caves are just all destroyed torn up and weird and random lots to explore and see though which is kind of nice there goes that iron pick making room in the inventory all Right there’s just more stuff there’s tons of iron everywhere I love it absolutely love it Course there would be an aquifer right behind that wall why wouldn’t there be my inventory is full uh get rid of you so much iron I’m so happy about it Ah this a really big cave so much to see creeper here he comes all right this goes a little deeper wow that goes a lot lower than I thought it would back up we get more iron and another aquafer I hate everything about aquafers absolutely everything they’re annoying

They get rid of torches they’re annoying go away nobody likes you disappear anyway how are you doing today Mr Enderman anyway just mess that guy’s day up I almost have two stacks of iron and that’ll make it two stacks weird generation like this is the reason

Why I was unable to find any caves that weren’t aquafers because there’s so many aquafers that cut into these stupid caves the layout of these caves are just dumb I hate them okay I promise I’ll I’ll stop complaining about water caves I promise for now for this episode I’m done for this

Episode okay I think we’ve explored a good amount of this cave Good Golly Miss Molly have we got a lot of stuff I think it’s time to head on back to the house so I’m going to start heading that way and I’ll meet you guys back up there

All right we’ve come up to the surface and we broke out into this little ocean Pond looking thing I’m going to try and dry it out a little bit I only have Cobblestone now this leads straight to the skeleton spawner cuz this is where I tunneled up

From was the Skelly spawner so we should have a nice direct path to the skeleton spawner once we uh mine all this out all right there we go so now we just got to find our way home and I don’t know where that is I think it’s this way cuz I recognize

That Birch Forest over there yep that’s it that’s our house so it’s just over here on the other side of this kind of Ridge area here we dug up out this way somewhere when we came up from that other cave so that makes a lot of sense and our staircase comes down

This direction so again this also makes a lot of sense as to why we would come out on this side so we just need an easier way of getting over here instead of having to run around the mountain the entire time so maybe make a dock or something I

Don’t know but we’re home we have all of our resources we have more than enough iron to last us a good while so we can make hoppers and whatnot for farms and stuff and that should be good so let me get this stuff inside smelt it up up and

We should be good to go all right take a look at what we have ended up with this is our valuables chest after our long mining session there got a couple more diamonds definitely a lot more iron so we’re going to be able to use this for

Farms and stuff um we retired our very first diamond pickaxe it is now sitting in here waiting to be retired in an item frame at some point which at which we will name it so that was a pretty productive mining session and I really enjoyed that that cave actually turned

Out to be really good even though I absolutely despise water caves I can’t get over it but so now we are going to make a cow Crusher and in order to do that we’re going to need a wheat farm going so I think what we’ll do is we’ll

Start another another farm and we’ll probably put it where should we put a farm cuz we kind of need a big flat area at which to plant a farm and I kind of want it close to our cows let’s see is there a good flat spot over here

Somewhere got a slit in here which leads to another aquafer lovely we’ve got a nice flaish area up here well maybe not down here maybe I don’t know man this Terrain is so strange it’s kind of hard to figure out where to build things I think what

I’m going to do is I’m actually going to build like a uh a raised up and tiered farm system kind of dealio so let’s get some resources together and we’ll start putting that together okay so I think I figured out where exactly I want to put this Farm I

Kind of want to stick it in this area problem is I’ve got a ton of this coar dirt that’s just in the way making everything look absolutely terrible so if you take a hoe on course dirt turns into regular dirt so that’s what I’m going to do to all of this coarse

Dirt that way grass will grow here and we can use it for farming and whatnot so I’m going to do this I made a couple of stone hes and that should get us through all this coarse dirt here and I’ll be back once I’m done all right guys so I have broken

Countless hoes let me let me just see I’m trying to find a stone hoe pickaxe ah here we go I’ve broken 14 Stone hes and this is times used I have used it 1, 197 times so uh yeah we’ve done quite a few blocks here

Uh all of this is going to fill in with grass eventually I leveled this out a little bit with some of the spare dirt I had in my chests um I’ve gotten rid of all of the coarse dirt that was up here towards the shoreline so we’re going to

Start getting some nice green grass up in our area here um I haven’t gotten it all there’s still some coarse dirt up there and there’s coarse dirt up here that I didn’t touch but 14 Stone H is a large number of hose to be broken so yeah and I also I wanted to

Till this section but 14 Stone hose I think is a good enough place plus I wanted to build our farms in this general area here so I think for now 14 Stone hose and almost 2,000 coarse dirt blocks tilled is good enough what do you

Guys think that was quite a lot um so now let’s get started on our Farms so I wanted a raised up Farm area so I’m going to grab some dirt from our chests over here and I want to eventually level you know what I’m just going to I’m

Going to break the shovel get some dirt here and break the shovel and then we’ll grab the remaining dirt that we need from the house and this will eventually level out even further slowly going up to the mountain instead of having this kind of sharp Cliff edge

Here so let’s mine all this up there it goes it just broke so let’s go grab some more dirt from our chests that will be in here we’ll grab some of that and that should be enough dirt for this project so let’s go back down here and build our

Farm okay so I mined all of those uh oak trees that were around here grabbed all the oak that we had it was just over two stacks and I wanted to build pretty much much an area where one water bucket will be enough so say one water bucket is

Here and it goes at four blocks in each Direction then it should be able to water all of these blocks here including four blocks diagonally so that should work perfectly so let’s 2 three 4 2 three four and let’s fill in okay we’ve got a stack of seeds I doubt this will be

Enough but let’s go ahead and till all this dirt and start planting out our seeds and this will be our wheat field and this is going to provide all of the wheat for all of our Farms our sheep and cattle farm and this ought to give us plenty of wheat for the time

Being um and I’ve got 11 more and not ought to do it all right and that’s from also Breaking All the tall grass that was kind of in this general area as well so that’s plenty good and then we’ll plant our potatoes which there’s 11 potatoes right

There how did I do my math wrong there blam blam um and then we’ll do carrots in these last two sections and that’ll fill out this whole area and as you can see this corner block is uh wet so that means that that works and this is the

Max distance a single water bucket will do you so now we’re just going to outline it with oak logs like they do in a village and this will kind of be the design that I’m going for and so what I mean by tiered is that we’re going to have

Another layer of farm maybe go up over here and so this will be kind of like a four square tiered kind of structure right here here on the corner right beside our uh hostel and that will get us a decent amount of materials here so I’m going to place some torches all the

Way around make sure it’s nice and lit up so it grows even at nighttime there we go trying to make our torches actually useful around here and yeah that’s a pretty good Farm let me grab some more water from the ocean here and we can start working on

Our next layer although I am going to need more dirt so we’ll grab another stack of dirt from the house really quickly and sleep the night away because my Shield’s about broken all right the night time is gone we’ve got plenty of dirt in our inventory plenty of creepers on our land

Be gone sir I love that you can just hit creep ERS twice with a crit with a diamond sword and they go away which is super super helpful okay so this one I want it to be raised up by let’s just do two blocks so we will do let’s do a cobblestone

Base so this will be the width of the wood structure here and then the Cobblestone is going to come out to here like this that’s the middle so 1 2 3 4 and that’s the corner I’m definitely going to need more logs too to finish this build that’s

Okay and I’m also going to need to grab some more Cobble from my chest that’s fine let’s fill all of this In and there we have it let’s fill it up with some water and and Mark our torches here whoa where did you come from jeez creepers really do be creeping okay I just need a little bit of cobblestone to finish out that wall right there and just like that this one is

Done so I’m going to use our beetroot seeds here and our last four carrots and this is what we’re going to plant up here for now until we get more seeds from the stuff growing around here I did remove the crops that were growing down there so I’ve already grabbed those

Seeds and everything so this is all we’ve got except for pumpkins and melons and uh we’ll have to create a separate farm for that somewhere else but I like the way this looks I just need a better way to get up here than uh breaking a

Log cuz right now it’s tiered to a point where I can’t reach it although that creeper got up here oh you can just reach it by doing this okay so that’s a good temporary setup for now but yeah that’s our nice little farm uh you’ve got a nice view of pretty much nothing

From your window here might have to do something about that in the future but not right now I’m lazy uh Story of My Life anyway oh we need to do this path too there’s a lot of things we still have to do man a lot of things but yeah I I’m

Happy with how this turned out um we’re going to have another Farm uh quadrant right here that’s going to be a little bit taller than that one and then we’re going to have our tallest one back here in the corner and that’s how we’re going to separate our different Farms so we’re

Going to have wheat uh potatoes carrots and then beetroot um I’ll figure out which order I want that to be in in the future so yeah that’s pretty much my uh Farm design that I’m going to go with uh we’re just going to leave it for the two

Now cuz like I said nothing’s fully grown yet I doubt it’s fully grown I think that one more tier but it looks really close so yeah guys I think that’s pretty much going to do it we’ve had a long episode um I’ve tried doing things a little bit differently this time to

Maybe keep things just a little more interesting than just having actual unedited raw gameplay footage because I know that can get a little stale especially after five episodes Holy Cow Speaking of five episodes you guys are insane the support on the entire Series has been absolutely insane so thank you

Appreciate it but to answer your question my favorite mob in the game is a tricky one to come up with so I will come up with my least favorite mob in the game I’ll give you one guess I think it’s almost every single person’s least favorite mob in the game

Phantoms Phantoms are awful they were they were so cool whenever they were introduced for the mob vote because they were something that were to encourage players to sleep the night away and to make the night even more scary because at the end of the day whenever we first started playing

Minecraft the night was scary and so if you go a long time without sleeping the night gets even scarier but now that we have it uh kind of wish we had something else Phantoms are just annoying all you do is sleep to make them go away and then you

Never see them again and yeah you can kill them to repair a elytra which is kind of nice but as soon as you get mending they are absolutely useless and one of the most annoying mobs in the game so of course and many other Minecrafters alike the Phantom is my

Absolute least favorite mob in the entire game now as far as my favorite goes I’ll have to think about that one it’s I haven’t really thought about like which one is my absolute favorite mob in the game H you know I could say creeper but that would be you know biased because that’s like one of the most iconic mobs of the game but I really do love how they were designed because they came up as an accidental Pig so when Notch was programming pigs originally he messed up

The model and so the legs were all together and the pig’s body was standing straight up which was the same shape as a creeper and he kept them in the game and I love happy little accidents like that little Bob Ross for you happy little accidents because that’s just

What made it such a unique mob I don’t know I also really uh I don’t know I honestly okay I think my vote has to go to the creeper that sounds kind of unoriginal and unimaginative but honestly I really do like the creeper except for when he’s

Blowing my crap up but honestly they’re the only mob in the game I truly fear that and Enderman creepers and Enderman are the two mobs I still fear to this day because I know I will die to them at some point during my let’s play whether

Or not I’m in survival or hardcore mode I actually lost my hardcore world to a creeper um and that’s because I was doing a stupid challenge so I didn’t have the appropriate attire on but it was because of a creeper and so I have to live with

That so yeah I think my favorite mob has to go to the creeper I’m trying to think if I can come up with like a second place but there’s no other mobs that really kind of stand out to me because I don’t really interact with Mobs that well in the game I really

Dislike villagers it kind of takes away the feeling of isolation in the game um I really kind of disliked when Notch added villagers because in fact villagers and Villages were one of the last features Notch added and I kind of disliked it um because it really you lost this sense of

Loneliness and eeriness to the world once they added villagers and especially now that they’re so frequent and a lot of people argue that Villages actually aren’t more fre frequent than they used to be it’s just that back then planes were so small that they had less chance

To spawn than they do now but doesn’t that just mean that there was technically less of a chance due to the fact that they were smaller biomes I don’t know either way I just hate how frequently The Villages pop up in this world I bet you if I walked over that

Hill I could find a village and I know we found a village when we first spawned in um it was that way I believe on the other side of this Ridge by the other uh Pillager Outpost but yeah there was a village over there I bet you if we were

To walk like in any direction we would come into contact with a village within about 4 or 500 blocks that’s just way too close man way too close Villages need to be super rare especially since you can cure villagers that spawn that are zombies you know you can cure those

Guys and make your own village I think that in itself makes the game feel more alonely because then you have to save people instead of just discovering them you know what I mean um and and pillagers are kind of along the same way but they added those to kind of have an

Antithesis to the P to the Villager and that’s just a completely different conversation uh one of my least favorite updates was Village and pillage I actually liked Buzzy Bees more than I did Village and pillage but that’s a discussion for another day um but yeah so those are my uh favorite and least
