In this video I’m going to be ranking the worst and the best Redstone components all in this video all the way from oak doors to whatever this is if it’s in the Redstone tab it’s in the video also smash like because that just gives me free views and as always this Tier list is five tiers gamechanging useful all right lacking and pointless this is the Minecraft Redstone tier list first up we got simple Redstone Dust everyone pictures this when they Envision redstone in Minecraft it literally is redstone and Redstone Dust can be used in a variety of ways it can Hook up Redstone cir and it’s used in pretty much every single Redstone build out there is there really any more to say about it it’s Redstone gamechanging tier the redstone torch a staple in the Redstone component Arsenal it makes vertical Redstone a whole lot easier it Powers the block above it and when There’s power going in or below it it turns off it can also be used as a crafting ingredient to craft other Redstone components and since it’s a torch you could technically use it as a light source if you’re mildly Psychopathic Redstone torches allowed for many new possibilities when they Were added so they’re also going in the gamechanging here block of redstone this is a full solid block made out of nine Redstone Dust the Redstone Block is always powered no matter what and it can power anything touching it it’s an infinite power glitch you can also craft Them back into nine Redstone Dust if you want so I personally like to use them as a way to store redstone dust and bulk that’s because the block of redstone takes up nine times less space than normal Redstone Dust overall the block of redstone is pretty useful but I don’t Find myself using its Redstone properties that much useful tier Redstone repeaters they can be useful for for a variety of ways you can use them to extend signal strength or to apply direct power into a block for instance if you had Redstone Dust going into a block it wouldn’t be as strong as If you had a repeater another benefit of the redstone repeater is the ability to adjust the timing of its activation from 1 to four ticks this can help when building complicated Redstone or piston doors and it can be locked with another repeater going into the side of it if You want to get really fancy repeaters are in the gamechanging tier Redstone comparators these can be the most confusing Redstone component for most people mumbo jumbo has has a video explaining how they work but I still don’t 100% understand how they work but that’s okay I’ll leave it to the Harvard Graduates from what I understand they have two modes add and subtract they can also read the signal strength of containers based on how full they are it can also stop outputting a signal when the side signal input becomes greater whatever that means comparators are useful here Target blocks Target blocks Are relatively new in my mind but looking back on them now they were added in 1.16 which came out 3 years ago already so maybe I’m just getting a little bit old anyways Target blocks output a signal strength when struck with an errow depending on how close They are to the bullseye they can also redirect Redstone and mumbo jumbo seems to like them a lot so it can’t be that bad all right here now levers this is a very simple yet useful Redstone component you can acquire it very quickly because it only requires one Stick and one piece of cobblestone to be crafted and you don’t even need a crafting table they provide a constant source of redstone power when activated they can be useful if you plan on having an iron door in your base overall pretty all right in my opinion all right tier Wooden buttons these these are even easier to craft than levers requiring only one piece of any plank they’re similar to Stone buttons but they remain pressed longer they provide Redstone power when push but they only output the signal for a second or so all right tier Stone buttons I kind of already Explained this but they’re the same as wooden buttons but they’re made out of stone Please Subscribe they have a shorter duration of activity than the wooden buttons and it’s kind of cool I guess all right deer wooden pressure plates I thought this would be similar to The Wooden button where it just stay Pressed for longer but the wiki says it can detect all entities which can be useful all right tier Stone pressure plates according to the wiki unlike their wooden counterparts they can only detect players and mobs so I think that means no items still not right tier light weighted pressure plates these are The gold ones which is not what I thought because gold is denser than iron but all right I guess the lightweighted pressure plate differs based on the amount of entities stood on it but I’ve personally never used this version of the pressure plate and I don’t really See a good reason to lacking tier which brings me on to heavy weighted pressure plates these these are the iron variants and they’re actually different from the last one apparently they only measure entities in groups of 10 not 100% sure how this will be useful but I’m sure Mumo jumo will find a use lacking tier skull sensors these are a newer Redstone component added in the 1.19 update they output a redstone signal whenever they detect vibrations triggered by actions and events within a certain radius these vibrations can be blocked however by placing a piece of wool in between the Vibrations and the skull sensor if a skull sensor is triggered by a player it could activate nearby skull shers which summons the warden which is no bueno but I’ve heard that skull sensors are useful in numerous complicated redstone contraptions and they can allow for wireless Redstone which sounds pretty Game-changing to me gamechanging tier calibrated skull sensors I had to Google this one because I did not know it existed from what I’ve gathered it detects vibrations with twice the range it can also detect specific types of vibrations based on the signal strength that’s being put into it it outputs Redstone power on all sides except the input side I’ll put it out a useful tier because it sounds exactly like the skull sensor but a little bit better skull shers I wouldn’t really consider this a redstone component but it’s in the Redstone tab so it’s in the video when Activated by a skull sensor or calibrated skull sensor three times it summons the warden if it was naturally generated and as I stated earlier the warden is no bueno so I’m going to have to give this one a bad tier block of amethyst this is also not really a Redstone component but when you walk on it it can probably be detected by an observer so there’s that aside from that not much Redstone functionality they do make pretty cool noises when you walk on them though however as a redstone component I’m going to have to give this One a bad tier wool this is also related to the skull blocks cuz as I said earlier the wool can block inputs coming from the direction going into the skull sensor it’s useful for that but not much else Redstone related actually now that I think about it whenever people go into Creative mode to test something such as a piston door it’s always built on different colored wool so I think that wool deserves a game-changing tier trip wire hooks these are exactly what you would imagine them to be you place one of them on either side of an opening and And place string in between them and when someone or something goes on the trip wire it outputs a redstone pulse simple as that all right tier string this is pretty much exclusively for the trip wire hook the string is what you place between them and that’s about it Lacking tier lect turns now you may think these are only for decoration or converting villagers into Librarians but you would be very wrong they’re actually useful for a variety of things if you place a comparator behind them and then place a book into the Lecter then depending on what page you’re on it’ll Output a different Redstone signal strength this makes Contraptions that involve selecting things a whole lot easier and simpler you can use LEC turns as an interface for a lot of different redstone contraptions useful tier daylight sensors I forgot these existed for a while because I haven’t used them Since I was a we lad they’re very simple in what they do if it’s day out they output a redstone pulse if it’s night they don’t you can also toggle them to be on during the night and off during the day and vice versa their main use in My opinion is making automatic street lights with redstone lamps that only turn on once it gets dark so I think it’s fair to give them an all right tier lightning rods these are exactly what they are in real life when there’s a thunderstorm occurring the lightning bolt is redirected into the lightning Rod instead of your house when lightning strikes the rod it outputs a redstone pulse they also make acquiring charge creepers a whole lot easier but as a redstone component I’m going to have to give this one a lacking tier for some variety Pistons these are a staple in The Redstone community and without them piston doors wouldn’t exist Pistons were actually first introduced as a mod but not just side that they were pretty cool so we just casually decided to add them into the game at first as always everyone complained that it’s not minecrafty enough but now they’re Instantly recognizable they can be used to push up to 12 movable blocks which all last for piston doors and flying machines when Pistons were added it enabled a ton of possibilities so I’m going to have to give this one a gamechanging tier now for sticky pistons these are basically the same as regular Pistons but they have slime smeared all over their head the Slime allows it to stick to blocks so when you extend or retract the blocks they stay attached these are also Al Game Changer since you also need them for flying machines and piston doors game changing tier slime Blocks these are crafted from nine slime balls and they’re incredibly sticky these can stick to basically anything and they’re a key component in flying machines they have a lot of uses in mechanical farms and redstone contraptions I won’t be able to get into in this video for time sake so I’ll put Slime blocks at a gamechanging tier honey blocks these are very similar to slime blocks but somehow more sticky if you make a wall of them you can slide down and stick to them also like slim blocks they can stick to most blocks but the useful thing about them is the fact That they don’t stick to slime blocks this is key because now flying machines and piston doors can be built more compactly there are a lot of other reasons why it’s good but I’m no mumbo jumbo just a little side tangent please don’t click off this is interesting I Promise on my channel I was originally going to upload Redstone tutorials and content which is why my name is Gizmo because Gizmo Gizmo and the 82 is there because every good gamer tag has numbers in it that’s also why my Minecraft skin has the redstone ore texture on it Anyways honey blocks are also a gamechanging tier and if you made it this far it means you’re either mindlessly watching my content or you actually enjoy it either way you should join the Discord I got a ton of exciting things planned link will be in the description anyways on to dispensers Dispensers do exactly what you would think they would do they dispense things when they get activated with a redstone pulse they dispense whatever items are in them and if it’s an item that can be used such as a water bucket it will place the water and retain the bucket Dispensers can also shoot arrows or Fire charges so I’ll put them in the useful tier droppers these are a lot like dispensers but they only drop items so for instance if I put a water bucket in it and it was activated it would just drop the water bucket item and if you Chain them together they can drop items into each other which can be useful for storage systems useful here Hoppers when these came out back in the day they allowed for a lot of new possibilities they can pick up items that are directly above or around them and they can feed Into other Hoppers or chests they can also hold up to five stacks of items and allow for storage systems to exist without them you have to pick up up everything manually with a bunch of complicated waterways so I’m putting hoppers at a gamechanging tier chest these are a key component for storage Systems because without them there is no storage single chest can combine with another chest next to it to form a double chest which you guessed it has double the storage space gamechanging tier barrels these are similar to chests but they can’t combine with other barrels but they do look a lot cooler They have 27 Slots of storage and have a cool animation when you open them useful tier this is another one I was not 100% familiar with but it’s the chiseled bookshelf not sure what it has to really do with redstone but I guess their updates could be detected by observers Anyways with chisel bookshelves you can individually put books into them which makes them like a better version of the bookshelf I would give this an all right tier but this is a redstone tier list so I’m going to have to put it in the lacking tier furnaces these are used a Lot in super smelters but they can also be used to give outputs to comparators but in my experience they’re best used as a cheap immovable block that slime blocks don’t stick to this can be very useful for pist doors and various other things whenever you think of a furnace You usually don’t think of redstone first but I’ll still give it an all right tier and like the Minecraft farm tier list this is a pretty big tier list but I think I might have to zoom out of it all right that should be good enough trap chests these are exactly like Normal chests but whenever you open or interact with them they output a redstone pulse so this is what people used to prank their friends back in the day they would set up a pit of lava covered by grass connected to Pistons so when you open the chest it would Activate the Pistons causing the player to fall into the lava all right tier Juke boxes these allow you to play different music discs and speaking of music disc you should watch the Minecraft music disc tier list after this anyways if you use Redstone you can make the Jukebox switch in between Different discs like an actual jukebox and the music is pretty cool all right tier observers these were a revolutionary item when they were added they detect updates on their face and they release a short Redstone pulse out of the back they might not sound too revolutionary but they made flying Machines a whole lot easier and Redstone in general just became a lot more advanced and compact act very quickly observers have become my personal favorite Redstone component gamechanging tier not blocks these are similar to Juke boxes but they produce a specific note depending on how many times you hit It they can also produce different instrument sounds based on the Block directly beneath them and if you chain them together with repeaters you can make entire note block songs I can’t really show you examples because of copyright reasons but you get the idea useful tier composters this is what you Put decaying plan matter into very good Redstone component but I have seen them placed on top of Hoppers to help reduce lag and they can be detected by comparators depending on how much is in them but I’m still going to have to give them a lacking tier cauldrons you can Put water into these and a comparator can read it lacking tier normal rails these are your standard Minecart rails not much special about them but they can be useful in roller coasters useful tier powered rails these are like regular rails but if you power them with Redstone they can make your mine cart go a little bit faster IL mango also likes to use them and place a redstone dust because science I think it red reduces lag or something useful tier detector rails these are pressure plates but for rails whenever you ride a mine car over It it outputs a redstone pulse it’s kind of useful but I’ll put it in a lacking tier because there isn’t that much there activate rails many people don’t understand what they do from what I understand if a mob or a player is riding in a mine cart and it goes over The activator rail then they will be ejected from the mine cart I’ve used them in villager trading halls in the past and I’m not a huge fan of working with villagers and it just brings up a lot of bad memories from back in the day bad tier Minecarts this is what you used To ride on those rails and I’m going to have to agree with Cam man 18 they really need to be faster now that we have ice boats and elytras they’re pretty much useless except for recreation lacking deer Hopper mine carts a hopper in a mine cart all right Tier chest mine carts this is a chest in a mine cart furnace mine carts this is kind of like a train in the way that whenever you put coal in it it starts to move forward slightly but I’m going to have to get this one a bad chair because Literally no one uses this TNT Minecarts this is more of an advanced PVP weapon than a redstone weapon but I’ll let it slide however TNT mine carts are going to have to go in the lacking tier because this is the Redstone tier list bamboo rafts with chests they’re fairly New and probably useful in the early game but again not really Redstone bad tier bamboo rafts with chests I think they’re lacking tier cuz they just look a little bit more cooler than boats wooden doors these are actually used in Redstone a lot more than you might think They could be used with observers to quickly and easily transfer Redstone signals vertically so I’ll put them at an all right tier iron doors these also involve Redstone because you need a redstone power source to open them usually this is something simple like a lever button or pressure plate all right Here fence gates these aren’t used too much but I’ve seen them used as an activation method for flying machines or tunnel Wars they’re placed in front of the Observer because you can activate them to trigger The Observer to activate the machine I’ve also seen this done With no blocks but since this is kind of their only Redstone use I’m going to have to give fence gates a lacking tier wooden trap doors basically the same thing Redstone wise lacking tier iron trap doors much like the fullsize iron doors they need a redstone power source To get into but they’re very rarely used as actual trap doors unless it’s for decoration bad here TNT this goes boom this is good for battles but a nightmare for redstoners bad tier Redstone lamps this can be used to light up stuff but I’ve also seen mumo jumbo used them Before not for lighting purposes they have some other use all right here Bells these can be rung they can be detected by an observer lacking tier big drip Leaf not 100% sure how this is redstone related bad tier armor stands usually Redstone is involved when you make an Armor stand display that can switch armor stands and on Bedrock Edition you can use Redstone to put the armor stands in different positions aside from that not too much Redstone related blacking gear and finally redstone ore this is what started it all without this there Will be no red stone you need to break this in order to obtain your first Redstone Dust unless you kill a witch but that’s different and for all of you who stayed here’s a fun fact this is actually my favorite Block in all of Minecraft you might need to know that at Some point anyways thanks for watching now go watch some more tier list Video Information
