Hey guys here watch examine and only my name is AJ welcome to a tutorial video on the first of the month I uploaded a video showing you the let’s build a city world that’s returning and a few of you wanted a tutorial on some of the aspects That were required in order to get the map to the state that it is now the first one being or the most common one being how to make your own custom texture pack it’s actually really really simple so first thing that you’re going to do is download a unzipping program The most common one is a program called WinRAR this is the website here all of the links that you’ll need will be in the description below so go to WinRAR our lab comm and behind my head I’m assuming at least you’re gonna want it in English you’ll see an English 32-bit And 64-bit version depending on your computer it’s going to depend on which one you want to download I can’t tell you if you’ve got a 32-bit computer or a 64-bit computer I’m assuming that most of you have 64-bit now that’s sort of the newer ones if you’ve got an older One it’s most likely to be a 32-bit there’s many ways that you can find out I’ll probably just make them in downloading the 32-bit one if it works there you go if it doesn’t work download the 64-bit one ok so download that installer it’s super super easy super Super safe you don’t need to worry about that and what that’s going to allow you to do is get into some of the minecraft folders that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to get into so we’re then going to go into my computer ok my computer here And what we’re going to do is we’re going to click in the top bar up here and you can type % app a P P da ta app data ok and then finish it with the % again and hit enter that’s going to bring you to a sort of like hidden Folder in your computer that’s very hard to get to any other way and you’ll see at the top a dot minecraft folder I’ve got multiple ones because of other things I have gone on but you’ll probably likely only have one you’re going to go into that and you’ll see a Load of folders you want to go down to versions and click that this is where you need to choose what version of Minecraft you want to make a texture pack for if you’re playing in 1.9 and you want to make a 1.9 then going to the 1.9 folder if you’re Doing a sort of older world that’s one point seven or one point a go into one of those I’m going to choose one point seven just because I can so let’s click 1.7.10 we’re going to go into there and you’ll see two folders one will be the Little sort of teacup looking Java logo and the other one was going to be a folder that you’re going to be able to get into you’re going to right click on this one and you’re going to open with WinRAR which you’ve just downloaded you’ll probably get a pop-up like this Just close that okay depending on how long ago you got it it always says is expired and then it doesn’t do anything about it so I don’t really understand it and this is going to have a folder with all sorts of weird letters in it you Just want to go into the first one here assets then you’ve got Minecraft and then we’ve got all of the folders that we’re going to have all the textures are in here and there’s a bunch of different stuff that you can change what we’re going to do is we’re going to go back Out to where it says assets and you’re going to copy it so ctrl C to copy it’s going to extract it out and then you’re just going to paste this somewhere on your desktop paste do depending on I think one point nine has a lot more Stuff than one point seven depend on how powerful your computer is a place I think I probably already got on my desktop from earlier on I might just ruin something that I had already but it doesn’t really matter too much okay there we go so for now we can close those down and We have this right here what we’re going to do is we’re going to put that folder into another folder of which you’re going to call your texture pack so let’s call it tutorial pack one okay there we go and we’re going to drag and drop that Into there now when we go into here you’re going to choose the texture that you want to modify so for tutorial purposes let’s go into textures let’s go into blocks and we’ve got all of our textures here so let’s change what should we change let’s change the look Of hmm cobblestone that’s an easy one isn’t a cobblestone right here you’re going to find the book that you want and you’re going to right click on it and you’re going to open it with a program that allows you to change what blocks look like I expect all of you Will have the program paint on your computer maybe you have Photoshop some people have a program called which is like Photoshop but like the free version so whatever works really paint is obviously the easiest one however as far as I know you can’t do transparent stuff with paint it doesn’t have a Transparent layer so you can’t really like make blocks see-through on them you’ll need Photoshop or for that but soon as though there’s no transparent parts on cobblestone I’m going to open up in paint because everybody has it here oh we opened up on the other screen There we go it is so tiny up in the corner we can zoom in a little bit there we go as far as we can zoom in and now we can change it so let’s change cobblestone I’m going to just select the whole lot I’m going to right click on it And I’m going to invert the colors so there we go basically what we’ve done is made like a grey any stone let’s I don’t know just for tutorial purposes I’m going to put a green line over cobblestone as well okay you guys can do a lot more work than why I’m here I’m Just doing it for test purposes you’re then going to save it ctrl s to save and you can close it now as you’ll see cobblestone now has a different texture so how do we get this into the game of so you can change as many as you want You can change crafting tables and logs and planks and everything that you want but how do we get this into the game well you’re gonna need a little little note to add into the folder first in the description below I am going to provide what you need for 1.7 1.8 or 1.9 Depending on what texture pack you make I’m making a 1.71 so you’ll have to download this folder right here it’s just called pack it’s an MC meta file and if we open this up we can see that this one has like all different languages that you can have in and I Think the 1.8 one is a little bit more simpler 1.8 here yeah we have just this so 1.8 so no texture tutorial that’s all it is it’s just a bit of text really but I’ve found some people don’t need this some people do need it on my computer I do I don’t really understand it too much so I always add them into my texture packs anyway there we go 1.9 so editorial thanks Mike but I need the 1.71 so I’m going to go into here I’m going to grab the pack I’m going to copy it I’m going to go into our textured Tutorial and I’m going to paste it in there and there we go now we need to put this into the game so let’s click back on my computer go back into the % app data percent hit enter go back into minecraft but now we’re going to go into Resource packs so you’re going to click on here and as you can see I’ve got my warzone one that we’re doing for the warzone series we’ve got the John Smith’s one that I have downloaded and we’ve got the symptoms one from back on the Simpson series all we’re going to do Is we’re going to click and drag that into there it’s as easy as that so we can now close this down and load up minecraft make sure to load up minecraft in the version that the texture pack is for if you made a 1.7 texture pack load Up a 1.7 minecraft so we’re going to go into here we’re going to go to well I’m to create a new one let’s create a new one and we’ll create a 1.7 texture tutorial profile name and we want it to be in minecraft 1.7.10 1.7.10 right there click hit save and hit play Hopefully oh a mind default I want on that one no no no no either one what Oh No what about hey they didn’t it didn’t choose the one that I wanted we’re loading up in 1.6 1.4 I think it shouldn’t really matter anyway um I tell You what let me get it on 1.7 I should be back there we go then tutorial was going so well I saved it and then it just goes you want to play on default don’t you no no no we’re in Minecraft 1.7 here let’s say go into a new world Let’s just make the world textured tutorial we want on creative so we can just grab whatever we want and we’re going to create the world here this is where hopefully everything has gone right let’s find out probably shouldn’t build a whole seeded world should I Who am I Going to solve lack there we go we’re in a roofed forest how nice is that so if we go to cobblestone here we need to put the text back on by doing that you hit escape here options hit resource packs and there we go we’ve got tutorial pack 11.7 zone texture tutorial you’re going to click that and click done depending on how quick your computer is will depend on the speed is what it does it and there we go we’ve got our new cobblestone texture now you can do this for as many blocks as you want in the Game you can do it for doors you can do it for cakes you can do it for logs absolutely anything and it’s as easy so it doesn’t really get any simple does it I think that’s it I think that’s all we need for this tutorial I can’t think of Anything else that I’ve missed it works there you go and if you’re doing it for 1.7 or 1.8 or 1.9 instead you’re just going to put that folder in for 1.8 and that fold it in for 1.9 all of those can be found in the description below if you Guys enjoyed it hit that like button if you haven’t already and feel free to subscribe we shall see you in the next video bye Video
