Immersion is that feeling of being completely absorbed by something whether it’s through entertainment or by other means when you watch a good movie you’re immersed in the story and it makes you feel like a part of that world you don’t realize it but the main reason you watch Creators on YouTube is because you’re immersed in the stories they’re creating when you create stories it’s just as easy to become immersed in your own world here’s some tips to tell your story and build your immersion have a build for everything this first one is a challenge but but I recommend at least Trying to have a build for everything you do I understand this can be overwhelming but the quickest way to fill space and grow your skills as a builder is to build as much as you can everything in your world should have a place don’t throw all your Farms into One cave and shut them off for the rest of Eternity have a wood Farm create a build have a librarian villager create a build give reason and purpose to visit the builds you create immerse yourself in your world and the story you’re creating I need wood so I built a lumber Mill I need a librarian villager so I built a cafe Bookshop it’s the exact same thing you see YouTubers do except now I’m pulling back the curtain for you make them a part of your world now you have lots of builds and lots of stories to tell great they look fantastic you Did a really good job and I see lots of improvement I’m proud of you but they’re floating some of them are built into a cliff yeah immersion is more than just the builds you create it’s also about the environment you create around them I get it roll your eyes but it’s true 90% Of the builds you see on YouTube would be nothing without Landscaping I’m not talking much 10 blocks that’s all just a little border around each build to either blend them together or blend them into the terrain you don’t have to terraform an entire custom biome just grab some grass blocks some moss and Some bone meal and go to town don’t go overboard unless you want that overgrown aesthetic for story purposes but a little effort goes a long way to build your immersion give them room to breathe there’s a term in the artistic world called negative space this is the blank Space between objects in say a painting or a drawing the empty space draws our attention to the subject of the artwork better in building and in storytelling this works in much a similar way if I wanted my house to stick out I wouldn’t put a bunch of trees around it and block The view for my starter house I left the primary View from every angle of my base nearly empty this way it places my build at a higher importance and there’s not much around it to steal the attention this is just another way of saying don’t clutter your world I understand if You’re going for a busier area look but it’s okay to leave some space alone maybe add a little light terraforming in some bushes and just leave it at that connect them with paths now we have all these builds they’re all settled into their environment spaced out nicely how Do we connect them we just spaced them all out how do I bring them back into one cohesive story paths my friend now that we’ve created the builds of our story it’s time to connect them all and walk ourselves along the experience of what we’ve created immerse ourselves Into the journey your paths don’t have to be complex in my opinion the simpler they are the better don’t underestimate the power of plain old path blocks create different areas for different themes as you start to fill out one area of your world if the Temptation strikes You could always move on to another and begin work there my suggestion if you do get the urge to do this try and challenge yourself to build in a different theme than what you’ve been doing if you did a tutor style maybe try cityscape and as you build up this new Area try and experiment with different blocks new Styles and try and make it feel like it’s a different world entirely when you’ve done the work it’ll be like having different towns and cities across your world with different cultures and ideas that you can immerse yourself in and when you have multiple Areas try and connect them the best you can with some roads and then take a horse back T of Your World add lore to your story now that we’re getting into theming it’s a good time to introduce some lore lore and storytelling pretty much go hand inand while you can tell The story of one particular build Laura tries to tell the history of a build or an area and why it is the way it is Lura aims to tell a backstory while your builds are telling the present one it can be a little confusing but think of It like this I want to build a castle ruin I want it to hold my glow Lian Farm the current story is it’s an old castle ruin that has a farm in it but the lore you can create maybe says this ruin is a part of an ancient Outpost that was Destroyed in some War a backstory the more creative and wild the more entertaining and therefore a better and immersive story refurbish old builds as you build up your world and ultimately become a better Builder you’re bound to look back on some of your older builds and cringe ever so slightly and that’s Okay cringe means you’ve grown but you’re going to be tempted to tear those old builds down don’t do it at least not yet my recommendation if you just can’t handle it is to refurbish those old builds stick with the same theming or ideas of the original similar blocks or Pallet and try your best to keep the general idea of the original intact in my world I hated this terraforming I did on the outside of my hall of trophies and for good reason it was Patchwork a quick fix I just covered it because I couldn’t think of anything else at the Time well time passed and I got better and designed a better exterior I brought this interior themed to the exterior kept the same blocks from the terraforming before and all in all created a much better build all while keeping the spirit of the original leave Some old builds as they are now if you can handle the cringe good you’re a stronger person than me old builds can serve as the perfect Monument to older Styles and the perfect Monument to your personal growth in a way the older and worse a build gets the more low or it Writes for itself you can even turn some of them into displays or museums of sorts and refurbish them without touching them I still wish I kept some of my original worlds from when I started playing just to go and look back at how far I’ve come really these two Tips boil down to trying to keep your world’s history intact without breaking too much of the story or your immersion and investment with your older builds hold sentiment speaking of looking back one of the last tips I’ll give you today is to hold on to Sentimental items this Could be that first pick you crafted first Iron arm armor set first diamond anything pets are another thing that can Loosely fit into this category as your world gets older you’ll find more and more items or animals or creatures you want to hold on and keep around all These I want to say Collectibles become great Windows into the past and another way to look back on your journey find inspiration if you’re sitting here toward the end of the video and you’re just stuck you’ve got no ideas on what to do or what to add to your world There’s always the internet I started this video talking about YouTubers it’s only fitting I ended that way content creators can be a big source of inspiration for many of us heck I even began playing Minecraft because of hermitcraft season 7 there’s no shame in taking inspiration from creators that’s Why we put our ideas out there play with friends bonus tip this may leave a few of you raw but having some friends to play with can be all the inspiration that you need Shenanigans make for the best stories and if you don’t believe me go and watch any of Green’s videos Having friends is just a recipe for stories to write themselves if you take anything away from this video Let It Be to tell your world’s story and immerse yourself in it add builds for everything give them all meaning connect them all together and let it tell an immersive Story if that last tip stung just a little extra or you just want some more friends join the Discord Link in the description everyone’s friendly and we have some great discussions also I answer a lot of questions there so if you have any you can ask them in the Disc or in the comment section with that said this is the end of the video ladies
