Ultimate Minecraft Xbox Series S Preview

We’re here in Minecraft on Xbox series s taking a look at the preview which gives us a new resolution Target for this platform to hit be sure to like the video subscribing is great as well so like with the series X version of Minecraft we have now a nextg aware

Version of the game for the series s which is targeting strangely the exact same thing as the series X’s that’s right a 4K resolution at 60fps and it does seem to actually be smoothly hitting that Target which is kind of fascinating yeah I did not see this

Coming at all cuz I kind of assumed you know we would see 4K 60 on the series X and the series s would be targeting something lower but yeah it looks like there’s literally that much overhead where literally even the series s is running Minecraft at a full 4K

Resolution so they are uh underutilizing the series X I would say almost entirely for the fact that the series s can do this but if you are a fan of Minecraft uh you play it on the series s you are in for a visual treat as this should be one of the highest

Resoling kind of games I guess you would say or I mean I’m sure there’s some others but uh yeah it’s it’s actually impressive and it does look really really great I know that there’s probably some that again will be like oh Minecraft in in 4k who cares but

Like the version of Minecraft we’ve had to deal with for years from the Xbox One era is just like you know the low res stutters and and that’s what’s amazing about this small but really really helpful update and it’s in preview so it’s going to be coming to the full version down

The road but you can give it a whirl now and we’ll do a full proper review of Minecraft again when it happens cuz I consider this to be a a big celebratory update for the game uh yeah it’s it’s awesome like it looks so much more clear which sounds silly but like you

Know even outside of the fact that it’s like a 4K resolution the fact that they’ve actually cleaned up the stuttering and have something that’s actually hitting 60 FPS I’m we’ll have some more demanding Maps I think a little later on to try out but yeah it does seem to at least in regular

Survival you know City areas and stuff like that uh is actually hitting 60 FPS which is a treat it it really is and like it was hitting 60 FPS before but there was you know know if you’ve played Minecraft from Xbox One onwards especially on

Series X Series S you know I I think you know what I’m talking about in regards to it being a little bit of a stuttery mess and as I said in my series X review of this uh it’s crazy that like first party Minecraft the biggest game ever is

Not utilizing or fully showing what the Xbox platform can do it’s you’re not leveraging that game at all Microsoft and it’s crazy that they’ve been doing that but that’s just how it goes right but like yeah look how clean and clear this is oh it’s got that like Master Chief in the

Corner sometimes it’s so weird when it does that the paper doll effect always have to turn that off I can’t seem to turn off the emote drop and stuff like the tool tips on the screen doesn’t seem to turn off in the preview but you know

It is a preview so sure they’re testing things out and whatnot but yeah it’s full 4k on the series s Wild yeah but uh it it does to me show that the series X is being as I said incredibly underutilized if you know Series S can do this too I’m wondering how much

Extra oomph for horsepower is not fully being taken advantage of for the series X or maybe we’re at a point where it’s just kind of like you kind of plateau on Minecraft stuff I guess maybe we if we could get like I guess I could try it with like an uncount

Frame rate on the series X with like kind of the monitor uncapped I wonder if it would go higher but uh yeah it’s it’s kind of kind of a little wild that this is the case I think if you touch the purple thing it all kind of Falls in I’m surprised that

This isn’t mined out yet so it must have gotten reset cuz this is uh this is a dungeon right although we’re not here to gather items people don’t care about this we’re here to show off the visuals sorry I got totally distracted there but yeah it’s

Just it really is quite nice looking I was you know kind of oogling it and being uh Blown Away by it on the the series X but also here on the series s it looks really really nice and really really clean I haven’t really noticed any difference between the two I think

On the initial rendering of the world it was like maybe a little slower for some of the chunk load but like it seems relatively about the exact same but between the two which is awesome for a quality experience I do wonder if it is maybe a little bit more Dynamic cuz

It’s like a little I don’t know how to describe it I think it’s just the edges maybe the effect of them kind of lining up has like a weird sort of thing on my eye but yeah it does look way better I mean you know like honestly just getting

This even closer to 4k on this is such a big deal and I know it sounds silly to those that like don’t really know necessarily care about Minecraft I guess you would say but like this is a Monumental Improvement cuz it’s just like the sky looks so much more clear

The blocks look way better uh the sharpness the quality of it you can really see things in the distance a lot better it doesn’t look as blurry and that makes a huge difference to someone playing Minecraft like for me already I’m just like oh wow this is yeah this

Looks so good and I think the best thing to describe it is like if you look at the sky with like the 1080p it was sort of like wavy cuz that’s usually you know like 1080 it’s it’s just like the resolution quality just isn’t as full and Luscious and the color range isn’t

Quite as high and it it just it it really is to someone that plays like as much Minecraft as I do it’s a huge difference for me like yeah I mean I’m not going to be sitting at playing a lot of this on the series s but for playing

It on the series X it’s just AO it’s it’s a Monumental upgrade ra like this is just really really quite exciting even playing it on here on the series S I was kind of like you know they’re pushing 4k on this one too I’m like that’s a it’s a little weird to do

That right like I was like oh I I don’t know if the series s is going to be able to handle it but yeah it’s it’s fine it’s running it’s looking good even doing the flying over usually a little bit more demanding so it’s a it’s about

Time it’s kind of the big thing here where it’s just like yeah it is a little about time on this one but what what an upgrade it just it’s so clear and all the biomes and everything it just looks so much better I never thought I’d live to see

That like seriously like you know we were supposed to get this back on like the 1X the super duper you know pack and we were supposed to get like the the 4K upgrade and it was like what 2017 or something like that like cancelled that and you know every year at the Minecraft

Whatever event thing that I attend I’m always like are we going to get an extra upgrade and this you know technically this isn’t even like necessarily optimized for the platform too like I said it’s uh at least at this version It’s nextg aware is what I call it where it’s kind

Of like you you know it it is providing sort of a lower end version but but it’s also I guess you would say it’s you know allowing it’s it sees that it’s being run on something that’s more powerful and it’s kind of unlocking for it which is interesting because especially for the series

S from what I understand and how the series s and everything works to is the context like they have to do like a special version for this to register the series s and stuff so that is really really interesting to me that this is actually presenting it this

Resolution quality on the series s it’s a big surprise and again I know it’s weird I’m not knocking the series out here because it’s actually this is a quality offering for this platform I’m very very happy about this uh but I am saying just like it’s interesting

Because they’d have to do it in a different way to be aware that the series s is running this so that’s that’s intriguing cuz usually stuff that’s like nextg and wear and that is mostly just like upgrades for series X on stuff and kind of like

The 1X enhanced games with FPS boost and stuff and you know things like that usually skip out or play a little bit differently on the series that side of things but yeah this this looks really good this going to be a big upgrade for when I do do my videos and stuff showing

Off the uh Minecraft stuff cuz I do a lot of you know like videos obviously in regards to Minecraft I’m sure you’ve probably seen them I would imagine over the years to some degree maybe some of them but yeah and I thought we this time we’d show off the

Halo World used to be called the Halo mashup now it’s the Minecraft Mash or the master chief Minecraft mashup pack which is weird don’t know why they changed the name of it but yeah you kind of like launch here on the world ah this looks so

Clean they fall down from the ship just like they’re supposed to that’s kind of funny well actually it’s supposed to be Elites I think these are like you like Forerunner creatures yeah you get the music and everything like that cuz we showed off for the series X version of this we showed

Off the Star Wars world if you want to see that the star war Star Wars world is amazing but the Minecraft level for Hal Halo is just absolutely phenomenal too like it literally like recreates you know the first level of like Halo here and this music’s going hard this music’s going really

Hard I’m hoping you can listen to this and I don’t have to cut this audio out but yeah and then we get like valhall over here oh this looks so good especially like the maps that do like texture packs yeah I’m sure they are levels will

Balance fine I’m just like Blown Away by how loud it is I usually have Minecraft music always set to a low for like video stuff but yeah this one is is so cool because it’s just such a love letter to to Halo I miss when they used to do

More stuff like this that is like a really low res R kind of model there which is kind of funny it’s sticking out a bit but yeah they don’t really do this as much it’s more like World builds as opposed to like these mashup packs but

These Mash Up packs were so cool like hear silent cartographer cuz You’ get like these crazy Recreations of just like iconic places like over here sand trap like it’s this is just spectacular the people that put the time into this it’s ah man it’s so perfectly well done I’ve

Always wanted to do like a Hunger Games on the Halo map we used to do we did some PVP matches here’s Guardian but we don’t really do Minecraft in the capacity that I used to so it doesn’t really fit in at least Guardian is I the guardian’s over here

Here’s Guardian but yeah I always wanted to do like retrofit this for like a battle royale kind of thing would would have been great which we called The Hunger Games and stuff but we don’t really yeah that’s not really what I do on the channel these days which is a bit

Of a shame because that was always so fun and then we’re back at the beginning but there’s other stuff in this at least I think there is did I get oh yeah I got a Blood Gulch over here or coagulation or whatever you know it by

Is is this one yeah it’s just kind of crazy looking I don’t know if this shows off the 4K update perfectly well for you but like little banshees it’s just the way like the texturing and everything is done is so good teleportation whoa but yeah they like really really

Beautifully well done builds of like these classic Halo items Scarab oh yeah there’s the snow area too wait do we show off the snow area oh yeah okay there’s lockout blackout depending on when you’ve played the Halo games right it depends on what map you get this was such a well done design

Like it just absolutely Nails the Halo aesthetic and then it just looks so clean and sharp and smooth and ah they really really just what a great upgrade people are going to be able to appreciate Minecraft on such a such a better scale with this sort of improvement it really is kind of

Amazing now they could just clean up this UI it would be so much better too all this stuff I have way too many uh packs and stuff is totally fine because I’ve done all this content over the years you do so many videos and stuff it’s kind of

Like wild oh Toy Story might be cool uh you know actually probably Disney World would be the one to show so let’s uh just Skip and dive into showing this off it’s time for the Magical Kingdom the happiest place on Earth Creator mode yeah definitely want Creator mode

On I mean I’ve already muted the music cuz I knew that was going to be an issue but uh let’s unlock the world template stuff so that we can fly around on Creative actually did that not change I hate that it’s like that and then it’s like personal game mode it’s like

Creative and let’s take a look at Disneyland where’s this Disney World doesn’t matter it’s Disneyland yeah I’ve been here before this is Disneyland at least I think it is those Disney World’s the exact same what this map now I’m wondering if I’ve actually got this correct nah

Whatever go down the Main Street ah this look so much better look at this Improvement oh and the the castle looks just spectacular and there’s uh Mickey and Walt and stuff like that oh that is amazing yeah you can do like a big firework display which is spectacular think we’ll kind of show

That off a little bit later and then yeah they got like full kind of like interactive games and stuff you can do like you’re not supposed to do this in you know like creative mode like I am but I’m more showing it off just so you

Can see the design of the areas yeah and then just got the the interactive track racing you can do this is so cool it get such a well done Recreation ever Bloom does I believe the best stuff in Minecraft they make absolutely incredible projects whenever they come

Out got to give a Bob shout out too that guy makes some really cool stuff but yeah the ever Bloon Recreations are always just so incredible like the character models look way better and the quality the water looks ah I I love this update it probably just sounds

Ridiculous to someone that’s like about Minecraft and stuff but like this is this is like a game changer for this game it just everything comes Al so much better it’s just like sharpness like I’m sure it’s to some degree diminishing returns once you get up to like 4K for

Minecraft but it does it just makes the textures look better especially if you like a higher resolution like texture packs and stuff like that it’s really good to see you know that Clarity kind of come alive and just being pushed even further it’s it’s just really

Awesome oh in the little fort here do we ever go to the Fort I remember we did like a big stream showcasing this off if you want to actually see how it’s supposed to be played we sat there and actually went through everything like the Haunted Mansion and stuff like that

They really nail it small world you actually like go on the rides and all that too which is kind of cool and you get your like autograph book done and stuff yeah look how good that is you really like sometimes you it’s like can you believe that this is Minecraft right

Or it’s just like some of the stuff they do and it is so cool I mean obviously it looks like Minecraft but you get what I mean oo Mickey Mouse Hello there he’s going to sign my autograph book what a nice guy I got Mickey’s autograph okay let’s let’s

Take a look at the uh the fireworks cuz this is going to look really nice up at the sky enjoy the Magic The Magic comes alive in Disneyland here we go yeah I bet the fireworks look really clean and sharp at the high resolution too there’s a problem with Minecraft as

Well testing it out and showcasing it it’s just like there’s so much to Minecraft it’s almost like impossible to see everything almost but at the same time we always want more from it don’t we look how crazy that looks the fireworks are so clean and magical and the sky looks way better too

That the sky is a huge impact I think for the quality of this one cuz it just looks so clean and crisp you put the fireworks with little tiny like effects around them and stuff yeah that that looks really Nice if you’re a Disneyland fan this or Disney fan I I guess in general this pack is like really really cool and it’s nice and familyfriendly as well if the kids want to go around Disney World especially if they’ve gone and they can like relive it and stuff it’s kind of a

It’s kind of a nice little touching pack in that regard anyways Minecraft series s we’ll do a full review when this full thing drops but pretty awesome upgrade for sure at least I think so
