Good morning good afternoon and good evening everyone this is Ghost opedia and welcome to craft story2 we’re going to be starting a new Save which we uh well finish the game what else is there to do in factorio now I’m going to be using a rail world just because this is Something that I tend to enjoy to use a lot of the time while I’m playing I really like the trains now I’m not going to look at our map preview and I’m just going to random randomize this a couple of times and we’re going to go off on Our way now Factoria starts off by you being crashed on an unknown Planet your goal is to build a rocket however ours is the intergalactic transceiver now if you’re curious what the mods are well there’s um too many to explain so I’ll just put them up on the screen here Pause if you want to figure them out but for the most part they’re just a couple of things that I really enjoy using either quality of life or fun I’ll let you guys know of any changes that are made by mods as they show up throughout the video now our first order of Business is to get some extra Stone which I was looking around for large rocks because they contain Stone and coal unfortunately there weren’t any large Boulders near us so I just went back over to our iron vein and mined up some coal first and then just placed Down our miners now one of the first new changes made by Craft storo 2 is that furnaces need to have their recipe set inside of them similar to how an assembly Machine Works the reason why will be more apparent later but for the time being just know that I have to do This when setting up furnaces one mine became two and then two became four and then four became a lot however at this point we ran out of stone so I mined up a bunch more rocks they were all over the place because we were in a desert the Rocks gave us Stocks and allowed us to expand our iron production a lot more but now we’re starting to make a little bit of stinky fumes that we need to be paying attention to we really need to be paying attention to when they hit these little guys here when things get too stinky bugs get mad And we have to bend them off but let’s be blissfully unaware about that for the time being and explore our wreckage that we crashed here on there seems to be a starter lab as well as a tiny source of power from the broken down reactor that We can use to start our first couple of researches and that’s what I did I sat there and I waited for for a while to do the automation core research however while I was waiting around some of those uh friendly neighbors ended up showing up and chewing up some of our mining Drills I completely forgot to put them back and just like that automation core has been finished at this point I wanted to unlock steam turbines so I started researching basic fluid handling and once that was completed I started to research the steam engines themselves now while the steam engines were being Researched up we ended up getting attacked by even more biters and I still haven’t researched a new machine gun yet so unfortunately we ended up losing a lot of stuff here as they were also attacking the copper while I was dealing with the ones on the Iron that’s a minor setback but it won’t matter for too much longer and steam engines are done time for military military ended up wrapping up at the perfect time as I was attacked shortly afterwards and that reminded me to make my machine gun which I then used to go Fishing and promptly murder some of the nearby biters they were a bit too noisy for the library to handle so we asked them to leave unfortunately I saw a big blip of them show up on my mini map uh that that’s a lot of bugs now you might Be asking to yourself why are they glowing rainbow uh they ate the Skittles secret formula let’s just not think about it too hard now these rainbow buggies almost ended up killing me thankfully I was able to get away uh with uh barely a sliver of Health I Dealt with the nests and then went back to base as it was getting chewed up as well I’m not really too fussed about losing what I did as I had a good stockpile of resources on me and once the automation tech cards are completed we’ll be able to move away from using All these burner equipments as much as we were before in the meantime while I was waiting for automation tech cards to finish I set up some basic Tech card automation right by our starter lab nearby the ship crash now you see the issue itself wasn’t with the basic tech Cards it was with the wood we are in the middle of a desert there is very little trees nearby however there was a small little Forest to the south of us so I took the time to uh inhale the entire thing that should give us enough wood For the time being though Upon returning to base I noticed that the biters ate up our early game infrastructure no worries we have steam engines now which will give us easier access to electricity and by proxy more research which is quite good because our automation Tech card research is going quite slowly now Because of the 50 basic tech cards it needs after doing my favorite mechanic known as waiting for a little bit automation tech cards were done and it was straight onto doing Logistics we’ll finally have yellow belts and electric inserts after this a quick detour over to gun turrets as we really need Defenses now as if you look at the map it’s entirely red with pollution right now and last but certainly not least electric mining drills have finished we now have all the necessary buildings needed to start our first base so let’s get to that now you see there was some Kind of plan but um my brain went on autopilot so the best plan is no plan and that plan starts off with us collecting some rocks we’re going to need a bunch of them to end up crafting the furnaces that we’re going to need which I got about 130 from those two Furnaces turns into four turns into 16 and turns into 48 for our first smelting column this turns into me placing some imaginary bus lanes to figure out where I want this base to be heading Direction wise now we just got to build it all before starting though I reduced the Size of the Furnace stack and moved it southbound first while I was waiting for belts to craft I ended up laying out the belt inputs for our starter patch veins just so that’s out of the way at this point I should have made some basic automation for belts because I was using Them so often but I was really for some reason just not wanting to do that right now I think it was probably because I was so close to getting the smelting columns actually set up rather than just Jerry rigging it I should be able to actually add it to a basic Mall here Pretty soon unfortunately I ended up running out of copper Midway through this all so I couldn’t make any more Splitters in the meantime I just set up some temporary burner miners to get me a little extra copper plates in the meantime now while I was waiting for Some extra copper I ended up using the assemblers near our shipwreck and I got very annoyed uh you see that flashing texture that really bothered me anyway green houses are done we now have some extra Copper at our disposal so we’re going to allocate most of that into electric mining drills we should Probably make a few assemblers as well however I don’t want the inserters to go to the end of the que so I’m going to use one of my favorite mods which is Q to front all I have to do is hold alt and que to swap the queuing mode now if I request some assemblers they will end up at the front of the queue rather than at the back like they would by default I put together some very temporary belt automation just so I had a little extra while I was still crafting up these electric mining drills I also took this Opportunity to Belt up some coal to our steam engines as this is where it’s going to stay for the time being the main base is now connected to power and coal is running iron mines are now set up as well so I take this opportunity to Belt up our First belt of iron now one thing that I would like to mention that’s different between croro and regular vanilla factorio is that you need twice as much ore to make the same amount of plates meaning our ore ratio is two ore to one plate we can get better ratios in the Future but I just wanted to let you guys know why our smelting columns are so much shorter and after a lot of distractions we now have some automated iron coming in it’s not a lot and we’re going to need to automate inserters as soon as possible but this should help Tide us over for the time being belts are automated once again and we were also able to set up the copper Lane now that we have access to iron and copper on the main bus the first thing we’re going to do is automate some automation cores surprisingly the autom Core uses equal parts iron and copper so this shouldn’t be too taxing on our resources as it uses them both about evenly right now for this moment I’m only going to set up one group of these guys as I would like to move forward and focus on making some base materials Instead now conveniently that we’ve bust automation cores the next stuff that we’re setting up is really only going to need us to draw in some extra iron and those cores I’m going to try to keep everything as organized as I can but no promises as I tend to be very Scatterbrained with these kinds of games first up on the things to automate inserter Parts as you can see in our crafting queue these intermediates make inserters a lot more tedious to handcraft so getting these automated first as they’re used everywhere will be super super important thankfully inserter parts are just iron gears and Rods and then the inserters themselves are automation cores and and the inserted Parts themselves and there we have it we have automated inserters now things should go a little bit smoother from here on out I then extend along our belts and add automation for yellow belts we’re going To need a bunch I of course also automate the underground belts and Splitters but as you can see um when I zoom out here the underground belts aren’t running don’t worry I fixed that here very soon I actually end up having to tear down everything I made and move It up so I can fit one extra assembler above the underground belt and with that we’ve automated inserters yellow belts yellow underground belts and yellow Splitters up here at the top I also automated assemblers as they’re just automation cores gear and iron beams which we were able to make in this small Little blueprint right here now before we start to produce any Sciences the amount of pollution we’re producing is causing a uptick and biter activity so I automate some turrets and notice that the left column is misaligned I’ll fix that later my turrets are constantly being killed off by small biter waves so As a ramshackle solution I put some iron pipes around them as I remember this helping with defense but I also got to watch firsthand none of that matters because they all got inside so fast and now the turret’s dead we need to produce some stone walls now I also got attacked Up north as well and here’s the live reaction to that unfortunately we lost a chest of Splitters in this whole encounter no my Splitters at least they left the assembly machines alone oh no oh well I’ll just put them back now we needed stone walls automated yesterday so I set up some electric Mining drills on our starter Stone Vin however this entire time the bugs would not give me peace attacking basically every single part of my base now thankfully I was able to use some of the walls and turds that I’ve made to protect a little bit more critical infrastructure like our power I also Routed basically all the stone brick production straight into walls and started to get to work making a perimeter around our base I then peppered that perimeter with a healthy serving of turret I also did the same on the south side of the base as well using our walls and turrets while having walls And turrets surrounding our base is great it means nothing if the turrets run dry so I start to set up a belt that’s going to be moving rifle magazines around hopefully this will keep the biters off of us for just a little bit but we’ll have to see spoiler It didn’t I almost ran out of wood as well however I turned the last of it into a greenhouse so we can passively produce some while I’m continuing to refortify the wall speaking of the wall I got a good amount of it done but it’s still not automatic and I also started To deal with some of the nests nearby the base just to lower the attrition that our walls are going to take and just like that we have a fully looped belt of ammo nice now I made a priority offshoot off of our iron Supply and automated some yellow ammo as we’re Going to still need this for the time being specifically here I’m also using a special trick croro inserters can be set to either drop on the far side of the belt or the near side of the belt using a keybind so we have them set to the close Side of the belt so only half of this fills up rather than the whole thing wasting a bunch of iron now that I’m safe and sound I can finally start to work on expanding out our bus a bit one of the most costly Parts about a bus Style base is the conveyor belts because you’re constantly placing so many of them it’s a necessary evil and we can now finally start working on science I also take the time to re automate yellow belts first up on things that the science needs tech cards thankfully These things are really only made out of copper and iron and it’s not a large amount of it either so we can spam them pretty heavily here let’s double down on the size of the design and just like that fully automated tech cards for the time being Awesome also we’re out of space on the bus time to expand it again finally science first up basic tech cards they just take wood and copper really and because the amount of wood is so small I’m just going to put the four green houses we need to the Left to finish up the basic tech cards I need long inserters so I added them to our little production area for the time being and I’m going to be honest with you being able to easily automate stuff like this is so Satisfying and just like that we have basic tech cards automated at full scale next up is red tech cards also referred to as automation tech cards these guys aren’t going to be too bad for us to make as we’ve already automated the blank tech cards and automation cores on The boss so all we have to do is really just bring them up to the production line add some power and set the recipe and we’re off we’re now producing red science now that we’re able to start researching again we can move on to the logistics Tech card however I’ve ran out Of time for today so we’ll be doing that in the next episode until then I’ll see you around bye guys
