Welcome Builders Andy is Yi here and welcome to a tutorial to show you how to build the Redstone to build super smelter that takes materials from three different buildings depending on if you choose which one you want Sandstone Cobble sand will mix with coal from that building into this central building Which contains a super smelter and that way you can smelt to your hearts content automatically the ingredients will arrive be deposited and Blended together and it all works off a train and switch system here where you can decide if you want Sandstone or Cobble and sand and if You want Cobble and sand you choose between Cobble and sand with these switches here and it all works automatically all you have to do for example is load up coal into these chests here walk up deposit your coal or in fact anything that would burn would Work in this super smelter so how does it work let’s have a look at this system which is a bit more exposed so first of all it has a gathering system for the ingredients and that is in here so we’re going to show you how to build this Redstone here and this one Has got lots of sandstone ready to be collected all we need to do is send a mine cart chest towards it that one is exactly the same with coal that’s got Cobble that’s got sand so what is in this big building here let’s have a look In the front door this is your super smelter so the ingredients for example from the Sandstone will come along here around to here and it will start to deposit the Sandstone down into this little check system here and then once that cart is empty it will travel back To get more sandstone and that will Fed down into this system here which is uh exactly the same as the pickup method it will fill up this mine cart once it’s full or all your ingredients have run out then it will start to deposit them along here so there’s nothing in these Furnaces or Hoppers right now so let’s get a mine cart there we go with chest and we’re going to send it going to put it right here but because it is empty it leaves now we do have a little switch here as well so if I click that switch we can Actually start this system so mine cart off mine cart on now the mine cart it is on it will travel along here it’s going to need a nudge uh here we go give it a nudge and it’s going to go and get some Sandstone through here so it is held by this mechanism Here and the Sandstone is now uh leaving that area and coming down and into this mine cart once it is completely full and I will just fake that like this uh it will leave so you can see that is now counting up and as soon as it gets to 64 Meaning we’ve got a full mine cart with chest this will then then leave so we’ve got to do this bit of redstone to make this pick up so it’s just about ready there it is it’s on its way let’s follow it traveling in and it’s got to the drop off point And now it is dropping through these Hoppers and chests into this mine cart and again once this mine cart is completely full or your ingredients run out it will start to distribute the Sandstone along there so let’s um speed this up I guess like that and then we’re just Waiting for it to become full and it will start to move along just a second or two there we go and it’s now Distributing all the sandone into these furnaces ready to be ready to be smelted really so with this super smelter we have ingredients going into it which are Going to be smelted that’s fine with this system but on this system over here with the black cool this is the coal side of things and it also distributes the coal whether you have a little bit or a lot if you have huge amounts of coal coming down it will wait until it’s Completely full and then distribute that coal everywhere if you have uh just a little bit of coal coming through it will also uh distribute that little bit of coal and then go back and wait until there’s more there of course we want this to happen automatically so if I Place this here it will be empty so it will zoom off in this direction through here and it will start collecting coal let’s see what happens when there’s a little bit of coal so put in 34 bits of coal and this amazing Redstone com Contraption which I’m going to show you Uh will actually release this when all the coal has filled up I think I put about 31 bits in first there we go let’s race it back here it comes here like that and it is about to empty and distribute the coal it is now Filling up this one here and as soon as that has finished it will distribute the coal throughout the super smelter so it’s such a nice system that always fetches no matter how many ingredients you’ve got it always fetches it and distributes it evenly and there we go we’ve got the furnace creating our Smelted objects the smooth sandstone in this case so now we need to put this all together and learn how it works and how to build it so this video is going to be split into thirds in the first third I’m going to show you how to build the Collection system and in the second third I’m going to show you how to build the super smelter and delivery system and then the third third I will show you how this electrical Railway system switches to determine which product you’re going to be putting into the Super smelter and in the fourth third I Will show you how to build these actual little uh structures which are around the place so to build this collection area where you’re going to store your materials and have it deposited into the truck whether it’s full or you’ve just got a few we need to build this shape Here now this is a rectangle and it is 17 by 20 one and it has gaps of three between each of these blue bits of wool because this uses the 5×5 building system where every major upright is three blocks away so there would be uprights here here and here but I’ve Actually just built in the middle of that shows the flexibility of the 5×5 building system anyway so that is 17 by 21 and then you want to work Mark out and get rid of dig down this Orange area here which is 19 by 9 blocks get rid of that and then dig down This yellow area that’s marked out and the yellow area is 7 by 15 and there’s an area below it I’ve made it purple which you also need to dig out and that is uh the same sort of size so once you’ve done that we can get rid of these marker blocks as Well and then this creates a little space where we can build our collect ction system for the railway lines you can see I’ve dug down one two three blocks and I’ve powered up a couple of powered rails here with this lever and then one two 3 four five six seven eight I usually have eight normal rails and then I have another powered Rail and that is my Railway system every eight blocks eight eight normal and then one powered and that’s the railway system so back to this hole here I’ve marked out 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 nine blocks of cobblestone To Mark in where I’m going to put some pretty ordinary rails and that takes us to this part here where we’re going to build the contraption so what do we need for this so we’re going to need uh a detector rail a couple of powered rails some Redstone Dust fence post Hopper Three Redstone comparators a couple of redstone torches you need two two sticky pistons and then a construction block I’m going to use red wool you need to understand a couple of things about Minecraft Redstone and the little mine cart with a chest first of all if you Have a fence post right here and you have a slope just there and then a block blocking the end of that slope a mine cart will actually get stuck behind this fence post because of the way the hit box works it will be able to go past it But not Escape Isn’t that cool I love it and another thing you should understand about this is if you have an activator rail right there what the activator rail does is it sends a signal out depending on how much weight is actually on the the detector rail so if I put This little train of redstone dust out like this and I put a little mine cart onto the This it actually detects the car is there and it will tell you how heavy it is as well so what I’m going to do is put this back send the mine cart in again like that and then the heavier the mine cart gets so if I start to load it Up it actually switches on the signal and the more you put into it the strong stronger the signal is that’s given out by the comparator Isn’t that cool so this is the two things you need to understand before you can understand this whole system so it’s really a catch and Release system so to do this we’re going to put a detector rail here A powered rail here your choice of block let’s not use grass let’s use red wool and add in any rail here and it makes this activator or powered rail I should call it um into a slope Add another block right there and what we could do now is put a comparator like I said we need to take the output from this detector rail like that we’re going to need a couple of these to get over here and the block right here more about This output in a second but we do want to monitor the output from a hopper as well the hopper goes right there by the way let’s put down our fence post which is going to hold back our mine cart we need a block here to support another another comparator which looks at the Output from the hopper now if you’ve got lots and lots of materials as long as you have materials flowing through the hopper it’s going to produce an output signal uh which will hold this piston in place so what I’m we going to do is take one of these uh sticky Pistons and place it right here let’s get rid of this temporary block like that yes this is going to say oh yes there’s blocks coming through the hopper in which case this is on powering this block powering this a sticky piston holding the fence post in place and we could show that by Putting any old block into the hopper it’s going to extend that piston because there’s something in that Hopper there we go items present in the hopper uh there’s nowhere for them to go so they have to stay in the hopper this block is activated holding the fence post in Place as soon as we remove that from the hopper the vehicle is free to go on its Journey but we do want to hold this vehicle so that if there is items coming through that Hopper will fill the whole uh uh mine cart with chest trouble is we don’t want To have it sit there forever completely full once it is completely full we want it to be released which is why we need to provide a little mechanism which lets it go if it’s full even if there’s no traffic coming through the hopper so that means we need to always have it extended Unless there’s some sort of cancellation system so the cancellation system works like this once this comparator sends a Minecraft full completely heavy signal onto this block it will um power off that torch and release the Piston of course the Piston’s completely held there by this comparator so we need to Have a special release system so a block of redstone dust there then a redstone comparator there uh we need some dust right here and a lever which I have conveniently missed out let’s grab a lever so this lever once it’s on provides a full Redstone signal and if We get a mine cart which is completely full again we get another full signal coming along here which switches off this torch and then the full signal travels to here it gets compared if this signal is bigger or greater than that signal there then we can pass on an output to right Here with a redstone torch that redstone torch will switch off of course and we can have another sticky piston right there so you can imagine the scenario when your mine cart gets completely full well we don’t have to imagine it let’s shove that in like that It gets held in place now imagine this getting completely full up that signal becomes completely on Switching that off trouble is there’ll be stuff in the hopper that’s a bit of a problem there be stuff in that Hopper so we won’t get a cancellation signal and this will Still be held but we’ve got a secret uper sleeve because that signal will be on that comparator will go oh that’s the same as that so switch off that redstone torch retract this block and once that block is retracted doesn’t matter what that signal is even if there’s stuff Flowing through that Harper once that block is out the way that piston dewers and this is on its way so if we grab a chest and plunk this chest here we can start to fill this Hopper so what I’m going to do is put in loads and loads And loads and loads of blocks here so that’s definitely going to keep this Hopper completely full all the time so that is definitely on on on on on on on on on on on and this piston will be extended no matter what even if that Torch is off which it is because we have some sort of signal coming through the trouble is this signal here is too weak because our mine cart isn’t full so as soon as we fill this mine cart this is the genius of this system them here as soon as this mine cart Is full there we go it releases it isn’t that fantastic oh it didn’t get very far did it you do need some powered rails right here and they will need to be uh powered for that signal to work as you can see here let’s fill it again just to see it completely leave Successfully there it is complet completely full gets released and it’s on its way okay so what’s remaining well we’ve got to build the super smelter for a start we’ve got to learn how the construction of these buildings go and also place all these chests and Hoppers I’ve exposed this one here and I’ve also shown you the distance I’ve used here these are little gaps of three over to the super smelter area and the super smelter area is quite large I’ve uh laid out 45 by7 so 45 along there and 17 wide And you can start it off here with these markings keeping you in the 5×5 building system okay I’m going to actually build all that over here in midair so it’s nice and clear and easy for you to see as long as your pit here is I think 17 Blocks 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 long as it’s 14 blocks deep it will fit in this super smelter with room underneath for lots of chests and if you dig your track down three blocks um it ends up being at a nice Level not super super important what level it’s on anyway let’s crack on here so we’ve got our catch and release system here and we can give it a very quick test again with uh mine cart chest there we go let’s put some ingredients in some Sandstone would do okay so we need to Extend our Railway line one 2 three four five six 7even eight Gap 1 2 3 four five six 7even eight uh that’s not ideal I’ll put another one there bring that around the corner like this we’ll put another activ I’m leaving gaps for activator sorry powered Rails like that so we’ve got plenty of power that’s going to get stuck there isn’t it we do need to put on our little levers to make sure these are powered and then bring it over to the drop off system so let’s have a couple more normal rails and then one more Powered rail right here which can power up and send the um the cart back to get more Goods the thing is this does need to actually sit on top of a hopper so we’ll put a temporary block there and let’s go and collect lots of ingredients that we’re going to need to build This all The Usual Suspects yeah we want this to be a hopper facing straight down this is going to be the system that drops off your goods powered rail right there and then uh right next to that we’re going to need another block right here another Block just there let’s get rid of that one otherwise nothing can come out of the hopper and we will need um a repeater actually which hopefully I’ve put over here I haven’t awesome into the menu we go searching I have my repeater there we go and then another block right Here like that and then a little redstone torch underneath so that is now uh that redstone torch is powering this block which passes on its power to this block which Powers our our thingy is called powered Rail and that sends sends it off but it only sends it off if we get a Good signal coming through from the hopper so we need another block right here and a comparator there we go so right now this power rail is powered because nothing’s falling through the comparator but as soon as we put anything into that can you see that it um actually dewers so as soon as There’s anything in this Hopper it dewers what will happen if I put that chest there is the item falls into that chest and now the activator rail is back to being powered which means it would send this cart on and back so let’s have the cart come along we’ll give it a nudge Nudge and there we go uh it is going to drop off all its goods all the Sandstone falling straight down into this chest and as soon as that number gets to 64 then this will go off which means the torch can go back on wo and it can power This and power the activator and send that back for more materials so let’s see are we at 64 yet we’re nearly at 64 there we go bye-bye little car back you go to collect more Goods so now we need to move on to the super smelter bit and We’re going to be building another one of those you get another chance to see another one of those get built we’re going to have two of these Hoppers coming straight down and we know what we need underneath that Hopper we need a little rail don’t we we need one Of these so we’re going to put that there temporarily and then we’re going to have a powered Rail and we need this special rail don’t we the detector rail so the detector rail is actually going to go right there and then we have that powered rail there and there makes it diag Cut that one off block it so that it gets stuck like that and now we can start to build the rest of this so remember we have two of these um really cool blocks the Redstone comparator to take the signal from the heavy or not heavy as it turns Out mine cart with chest then we have uh the hopper output signal as well needs to be measured with this comparator and this needs to power obviously this block right here which affects our sticky piston right here oops there we go and we also need a fence post as well did I Put the fence post down no great let’s go fence post right here uh we will need a couple of blocks here to take the signal along from this area and we need a redstone for that let me just grab all these ingredients again so the first thing we have is Redstone uh just a bit of redstone there and that goes into a redstone comparator then we have two blocks there and we need redstone dust and a lever which is powered on and then we need a block here with redstone torch and another sticky piston which needs to be stuck to that Block there there NOP fitting that way like that so that should be our little system for taking everything that you give from that Hopper down into our mine cart and then um if there’s plenty of material coming down I’ll sit there and take the whole lot and fill up the entire mine Cart with chest and now we need our furnaces which are going to go here so we’re going to need 12 of these 1 2 3 three four five 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 like that and we’re going to need to put on some Hoppers facing Down the way to feed these from the top it’s a hopper hungry design this uh Redstone so you will need maybe an iron farm or a lot of ingots maybe over 1,200 ingots if you want to build all four feeding stations it’s it’s a lot uh we do need a bit of power Coming in we’ll put the power right there to power up oops there we go power up these uh powered rails that’s uh that’s what they’re for here we can go four rails one two three four like that we will need to just give another powered rail some Power like that and then we can go over 1 two three and a final power rail at the end like that and what I usually do is put a block here here and here put another Power rail just to make sure absolutely make sure that everything’s Got power and we can just send this cart back up to here so let’s check this works we’ll put 16 blocks of sandstone into the chest it’s going to filter down into here as soon as that loads up on we we go on our mission to deposit 16 Sandstone hopefully into this chest down into here oh do you know what we do need we do need a mine cart with chest on this rail here there we go it’s going to get stuck that’s going back that one’s filling up 14 15 16 and then Boop it should pop it Out oh there’s more there’s more than 16 I thought it was only 16 bits how much is in here H so of these Hoppers oh look at all these things we’ve got in here okay that’s enough dude on you go so now we have to posited Sandstone into those furnaces Great what we will need is a couple of Hoppers facing down in the middle and then they will face and oops they will face our chests so we can put our chests here like that and that needs to face in the way and we could have another chest right here boom and here Oops there we go just had to get that off my chest there we go that’s going to feed that in all the rest of these need to feed their signal not their signal but their goods Through The Hoppers like this so fits all the Hoppers that way And that gets all taken away and fed into that one and you can feed into the bottom one first bottom chests first by doing that so there we go all we need to do now is add our NE line which is going to be made out of Black wool and this is going to be the the coal so imagine the coal coming along here and we’re going to feed this in let’s have it come along here this is our coal feed and what we want is a little Gap here of two so bring the coal feed along Here like that it’s going to go to exactly the same place so we will need to do EX exactly the same thing whoa exactly the same thing over here I’ve only been playing creative for for 10 years so sometimes I still fall who still Falls in Minecraft anybody this is Going to be the coal coming along and we need to build exactly the same thing over here but with actually a little bit of a little bit of a difference actually can I just can I there we go double we’re going to have three Hoppers one two three we’re actually going to be Bringing this down one more level okay that was an interesting one to build it’s just a complete mirror image from this one but itth you just need to keep your wits about you when building it okay now we need to get the um coal or whatever you’re burning into these Furnaces so we need a double row of Hoppers if you could think of a way of getting this closer so you don’t need a double row of Hoppers then that would be maybe an improvement over this system we’ll go for the same arrangement of rails here and again you’re going to Need to just block off the end here and for some reason we found that this works just so well a lever on there like that powering that one and we need to power these ones as well making sure we have there we go that should work so we Have sandstone in there already let’s put a little cart on here give it a nudge didn’t need to it is stuck there waiting for some coal so let’s put a little coal train coming along and deliver some call maybe 32 bits would be fine 32 on you go little Cart deliver that coal there it goes down through that chest down through the Hoppers into our little coal train there and it’s hopefully going to power up our furnaces once it is full there it goes boom and that is how the super smelter Works don’t lose Your there was nowhere for it to go let’s have a look at our Railway switching system so what I’ve done done here is create this little um Redstone line here which very simply connects to this switch Cobble or sand which is Cobble or sand or sandstone and the way the switch works Is it Powers this piston so once that redstone block there is down it powers that line and it Powers this line here so if I undo that it D Powers this line this block didn’t move because there’s not a block there let’s see what happens switch it on again nothing should Happen that is powered power power power that is powered actually is it powered I think it is powered we’ll switch it off and look it is now switched the railway track over to here and this line here goes all the way along here to this Junction here now it’s now Configured for sand it comes all the way to our sand collection system down there that’s because this lever here is turned to sand and that means that this power goes all the way over here all the way along here and Powers this little block here let’s see what happens when I Switch that lever down to Cobble what it has done is powered that on and turned the railway to face Cobble so you need to have these coming in and make a nice T Junction for this to work so what I can do now is send off a little cart Like this it’ll go in this Direction Come Along here and it’s going to go and fetch Cobblestone and I did place a few bits of cobblestone in there so it’s going to load up with Cobblestone bring that back and we’ll soon be smelting that into stone as well that’s going to come right Back to here hopefully we’ve got plenty of coal no one saw that right no we’re not burning red wool right onto this construction here 5×5 building system to show you how to build these little um Buildings Construction is fairly straightforward we’re going to start with oh Look that was the Cobble came back it works um so right in here we need a a 3X3 space now this is I think it’s eight blocks high one two three four five six seven eight blocks high so one two three four five six seven eight so we need That all the way around little towers you can put Windows in you can put more detail I’ve made mine very very plain indeed don’t forget to mix in some Mossy stone bricks cracked stone bricks for a bit of texture into your build little tops of these are very simple with Spruce Slabs all the way around like that the side of this build starts with stone bricks right there so we need one two three four like that with a little stone brick wall on top and then more stone brick walls to form this little 3×3 space into which you put an iron bar And you just keep repeating that as you can see it goes all the way along in between we’re going to go for Spruce stairs we’ll switch round to the front now and we’re going to to count up one two three the fourth block one two three Fourth block we’re going to go for a full block of spruce planks stair stair stair and then we need to mark off and figure out where the middle is and keep on going with this little climb and there we go we have reached as you can see we have reached the middle And if you want you can maybe put a block in there to Mark what particular uh block you are collecting um right in here we need slabs coming all the way along as long as you want same up here slap slap slap slap slap slap slap and that would obviously go all the Way to the end down in here just above this one this is going to be Oak stairs I think this looks pretty good do you know what maybe at the very very top you want Spruce like that and that is it that is it I mean there’s nothing more to this System than that you just keep on repeating it all the way along there section after inter section and then put another Tower at the end like that and that you know there’s not much to it what I do need to show you is where all these chests and Hoppers sit and how to Build this sort of section in here so off camera I’ve just completed the shell of this what we need to do is also block off the end of this as well and as you can see we need a little bit of ground to be added back in and I’ve simply put Some Spruce logs and some Spruce trap doors there which really helped to just um fill in the rest of that door there on the large buildings as well again just use Spruce trap doors lanterns decorate it as well however you want and you can see that oh by the way big shout Out to Aaron who’s put a lot of effort into this uh a lot of help technical expertise as well to help me with the Redstone and he’s put a staircase down as well and really decorated the walls doesn’t that look absolutely fantastic so that is that is down to you to Decorate your own uh working engine room there I will show you how to set up these Hoppers and chests perfectly so what we want to do over here is add in a couple of spruce stairs like that there we go uh underneath I guess we can support these like This with a row of uh Cobblestone like that and then we’re going to just complete this whole row here missing a gap there for a little inspection doorway um what what I might like is some Spruce back please and then put Spruce Spruce and we can that means we Can fit in a little doorway actually just there above this we’re going to go for um couple of spruce trap doors there and there also there and there like that um and then we want another row of spruce trap doors along there like that so it should look like that so Far we’re going to be running some Spruce slabs along here in a minute and then in between that I I do like to put in some trap doors especially trap doors with holes so you can actually see down and see the Contraptions below I love that so I’ve only put four slabs and Four trap doors down just now but we actually need to extend this to have let me see four uh nine trap doors so five six seven eight nine in fact we’ll probably go to 10 like that I think nine or 10 that is the question I think I’m just going to go For nine and then wrap Spruce slabs round it like this there we go little inspection panel above there and now is now time to put in a whole bunch of chests that’s annoying I need a chest there please there we go so we need a few of these chests all the way Along oh boy that is how do we make full chests very tricky we need to make full chests maybe I’m going to need some blocks underneath I think I am so what I want to do is Place some a block I guess temporarily here and that’s going to let me feed Hoppers Along in that direction oops for goodness sake there we go and another Hopper there so whatever’s in that go shunted along in that direction is that going to really help me place the chests it really isn’t there we go ah if the chests face in that direction it’s actually pretty straight Forward and these keep coming right to this position here we’re going to need 1 2 three four five six seven 8 11 chests there we go 1 2 3 four five 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 can’t count 11 chests again this does need to point in this direction like That we need a temporary block here I think point in that direction and then what we can do actually this one can point straight down the way and this could Point straight down the way as well we are going to have another row of chests just underneath once that’s done we can start To get our chests into position so we need a double chest there and I find this is easier just to place single chests along here we need 11 chests by the way 1 two 3 four five six oops six 7 eight 8 9 10 11 and that way you can Actually hold down shift and turn these into double chests they kind of need to be facing you to be able to do that there we go like that we need some Hoppers underneath because we’re going to have a double row of chests absolutely astonishing amount of storage You have in this system and then more chests here again I’m going to just do single chests to start with and then I can turn these into doubles hopefully we need to feed this chest into oops into here so that needs to face up that direction and then this Hopper needs to feed into that chest just there what we will need to do is take the outputs from these chests into this Hopper so again this all faces in this dire Direction like that so all these chests feed down into these chests into these Hoppers send it In that direction and send it on down so whatever we place in here eventually makes its way all the way down there and into that chest down into the hopper and sends off the mine cart as soon as there’s ingredients in it it gets sent Off as for the building on this one it’s exactly the the same you got the same Tower same top same sides all the way along and all you got to do is decorate the end how you wish guys that has been a long complicated tutorial but I hope You have fun with this I’m off to build this in survival wish me luck and uh I wish you luck as well if you build this uh I think it’s an awesome system if you’re collecting a lot of resources and that’s what I’m going to be doing over The next few weeks is collecting a lot of resources on my survival multiplayer and building absolutely enormous buildings for example I’m building I’m not going to tell you what it is but we’re building something which needs 132,000 blocks of smooth Sandstone you can’t do it with lava Buckets and all sorts you know you just need to be able to get on and have something which is automatic and concentrate on collecting Sandstone collecting something which can burn like coal or bamboo or maybe Mangrove roots and then you’re off and running that was a
