You know when I have these ideas for Grand massive projects I really tend to forget how much work they actually take hey there how’s it going welcome back to the let’s play world and welcome to part two of my Dwarven tunnels project this whole project is centered Around my super smelter a super fast 144 furnace array designed by Il mango that will smelt shulker boxes worth of items in a short amount of time the Aesthetics are to be Dwarven themed and because this project is directly underneath my soon Tobe custom desert biome the pallet Is planned to reflect that sandstone and endstone as the main building materials and granite as the rock material that makes up the underground in part one I spent the whole episode getting the design work done in creative mode I decided on using dried kelp blocks to Fuel my super smelter so I snagged this kelp Farm design also biom mango and scaled it to produce 11,000 kelp every half hour which can roughly smelt 10 shulker boxes of items for this Farm I designed a grand dwarf Dwarven hallway that showcases this Farm through large Viewing windows where you can see the flying machines that harvest the kelp I love how it all turned out it’s super cool after that I designed a second Super smelter ironically the function of this one was just to cook the farmed kelp into dried kelp which makes the Blocks that we’re looking for and finally I designed another grand Dwarven hallway for the new interface to the super smelter but I didn’t show you that because I’m mean and I wanted to make you wait I’m a Batman I know it’s kind of weird that for a Survival Let’s Play I spent all of last episode in creative mode but rest assured that today we are going to be quite busy in the let’s play world because now that all the design work is done the next step is to gather up all the materials and get to building This massive project who have I got my work cut out for me first things first I need 12 double chest of sandstone so let’s head over to the desert mining Outpost and get to work what’s great about Sandstone is you can instant mine it without a haste 2 Beacon so it’s a Lot easier to gather it worked out well for me because I’ve cleared a lot of sand out of this place for the Bedrock project and that left a bunch of Sandstone exposed and right for the picking you might notice a section in the middle that’s thoroughly stripped of Sandstone which is something I did a while back because I like the idea from isuma back in hermitcraft season 2 the desert Wasteland he called it and as you can see here I actually started working on that again but it didn’t take me long to go yeah no but anyways after a couple Of trips I had gathered all 12 double chests of sandstone that I needed easy next on the list I need 13 double chests of granite oh man this is actually kind of hard I mean in order to get that much Granite you need to spend a huge amount Of hours speed mining underground and there’s a lot of other competing blocks like diorite andesite gravel and of course Stone so those 13 double chests will come slower than you might think I mean come on you’d have to be crazy to want to take on a project of that Magnitude oh hi Bedrock project I didn’t see you there fun fact I’ve actually completely cleared this area out but hey that’s for a different episode anyways let’s let’s see here 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 boom that is literally all the granite I collected down here just to give you an Idea of how much that actually is hey I’m just glad the Bedrock project is shown its worth easy next up I need nine double chests of endstone okay there isn’t any way to sugar coat it this one kind of sucks you can’t instant mine this one even with a Haste 2 Beacon so you better put on a show or a video essay because you’re going to be alone with your thoughts for a while luckily I started chipping away at this one well in advance so I didn’t have much more left to gather the footage that you’re seeing now is just The last small stretch that I had to do and just like that boom nine double chests easy next up is 47 double chests of lava oof okay so I have this large Lava Lake underneath my nether Hub that’s where I’ll gather it from and before anybody says anything in the comments no I can’t dripstone Farm it because I don’t have the caves and cliffs update yet shut up but if I ride around on a Strider and spam buckets it’s actually kind of fun that being said though it’s kind of ridiculous to collect that much lava all at once considering I can reuse The buckets so instead I’ve decided to just gather eight double chests here and when I run out I’ll just take the empty buckets and go refill them uh easy next up is five double chests of light blue glass I already have one made up right Here and in here I have all the sand and dye ready to go to make the other four all that I need to do is just smelt it all up H if only I had a machine that was capable of smelting Shuler boxes full of items darn wait a minute I do This is a cute little design by Etho every time you put items into the furnace it makes an O Block tuned and what did you think I was going to say let’s use the super smelter this is actually super exciting because it’s the first time I’m really going to use this Thing and I thought it would be fun to time it and see how quickly it will smelt these eight choker boxes I got this thing all fueled up and ready to go 12 coal per furnace I got my timer ready I got my shulker boxes let’s do this Thing bam a few minutes later oh no it looks like the left Shuler loader isn’t working uh that’s not good what the oh I see the cauldron’s down for some reason that should do it yep Oh but now I bet I’m going to have a huge backlog of blocks now yep I’ll just Help this along don’t mind me how close are we to done here oh H yeah that’s not good either okay so tldr I have no clue why it didn’t send mine carts to pick up those last six blocks I’ll need to do some more testing But I took care of it and everything is all ready to go here all eight shulker boxes and because this got kind of scuffed it’s unclear to me when this thing actually finished I noticed it at around the 17-minute mark so for now I’m going to round down and say that it took About 16 minutes which would be 2 minutes per shulker box not too shabby eh so let’s get back to the matter at hand here and stain all of this glass with light blue dye and get it into our storage easy next up I need just over a Single double chest of kelp which I just went out and gathered in the wild didn’t take long at all easy and after that we need 38 stacks of birch logs which required nothing more than a quick visit to the tree farm plots easy and last but Not least we need 41 stacks of ice blocks so I can fill the kelp tanks without wanting to yank out my hair this one required a visit to an almost forgotten project on my world the ice cubes an ice cube is a redstone Contraption designed by Etho which uses Pistons to pushed formed ice into an ice cube where you can easily and quickly Harvest it this is a reminder that I put all the appropriate links down in the description for you guys to check these things out so if you’re interested in checking out ethos Ice Cube Farm or Zumas based on hermitcraft they’ll be down there waiting for you anyways the 41 Stacks I needed were acquired swiftly and brought back to the job site easy and just like that all of the materials are prepared and ready to go there are a few other things that I didn’t mention Like all the Redstone components and a couple of blocks but I pretty much have that all ready to go so I just skipped over it now let’s go over the entire layout here relative to what’s above ground this is where the super smelter sits and the new interface tunnel will Go here the kelp smelter will go here and the kelp Farm will go here there will also be two connector tunnels here and here and everything else in between we’ll get into later but everything you see right now we’re going to build today starting with the kelp Farm let’s do this Thing [Applause] [Applause] Sh Sh Oh yes it’s done I’ve been itching to get this thing built in my world for eons now and here it is in all of its beautiful full Glory everything just comes together so nicely the grand Dwarven scale the viewing windows the lighting I also wanted the Dwarven Architecture to look like it was built into an excavated tunnel and I think this actually comes across really well with a lot of the walls and ceilings still exposed with just raw Granite hey hey this thing just switched on and check it out we can see all of the Flying machines harvesting the kelp but one of my favorite features by far is the lighting I wanted to be environmentally friendly so when I leave through any of the exits and walk over a pressure plate all of the lights behind me will shut off row by row don’t worry Everything is slabs so mobs won’t spawn when it’s dark although for being honest it’s not completely dark everywhere is it there’s still some light getting through in a few areas and that’ll all get fixed when I eventually cover this thing up for now though it’s going to Sit exposed here because I’m not going to bother covering it up until I’ve planned out all the terraforming above but I digress I was talking about lighting wasn’t I when I want to come back to check out the farm I’ll walk over the pressure plates again to be Greeted with over 300 Redstone lamps sequentially flickering to life for me all of this was a ton of work for a tunnel that quite literally is only going to be used to look at the kelp Farm but hey that’s what Minecraft is all about right building whatever you Want and I’m not kidding though about how much work this took the excavation and construction took over 20 hours each to complete and that doesn’t even factor in all the time I’d spent collecting the materials it’s been a while since I’ve done a large project like this I Loki Kind of forgot how much work they take in survival like it’s one thing to design and plan all this stuff but the actual survival grind takes some serious RIT and I forgot how much I love it oh man I got to build something else what next what next I’m so glad you asked That crackhead mystery because now that I’m producing boatloads of kelp I need a place to send it enter the kelp smelter I’m going to be building it down this hallway here and I’m also going to build the dmer connector tunnel along with it that way I’ll hit two builds in one time Lapse hit It The W all right and welcome to the kelp smelter room or that’s a little on the nose don’t you think maybe I’ll call it something like the kelp Hub well whatever it is this is where all the magic happens if you don’t know about this whole deal then I’d recommend Checking out the last episode where I designed it and the reason why I say that is because I’m going to be going over a bunch of changes I’ve been making to it and they’ll make more sense if you already know what’s going on but yeah since the time-lapse footage I’ve Actually spent quite a bit of time working around in the Kel Pub here I’m trying it out kind of like it the first thing I did is connect it to the kelp farm so now all the kelp travels from there to underneath this room flows up through the bubble column in the middle And drops into the furnace array and once it was hooked up I started testing this thing out and immediately started to realize some of the changes that I need to make first off there was no way of knowing if the system was full of Kelp or not so I added a circuit at the top of the hopper stack that will detect when the adjacent Hopper is full and send a signal to turn on a redstone lamp in the interface I also added this same circuit to one of the hoppers in the Smoker array and hooked it to the line that will send the distribution mine carts out what this means is that the system will now know when the array isn’t full and automatically send out the distribution mine carts to fill them up problem solved this redstone lamp is now our overflow indicator accurate down To all of the smokers in the array and this is an important feature because it will basically be my marker for when I should start cooking the kelp the next issue I noticed was that the pickup mine carts weren’t keeping up the smokers cooked the kelp super fast and four Hopper mine carts just weren’t enough to match the pace luckily the redesign was fairly easy I just mirrored the exist existing pickup system on the other side which doubled the number of mine carts to six and that seemed to do the trick and as I was finishing that job up I got To thinking about the water stream for the cooked kelp I just thought it would be cool to be able to see it on display just like the other one and then it occurred to me this bubble column here is a 2X two The Rock kelp doesn’t need That all to itself it can share so I went ahead and split it into two one by one bubble columns diagonal from each other now I can watch the raw kelp and dried kelp travel up together yay okay so these next three changes I actually made before I built this in the time Lapse number one one I removed the item blocker at the top I put this in at first because I was worried about the item splitter dividing kelp unevenly if they trickled in one at a time and the blocker would basically Clump it all up And drop it down at once but uh tldr it just really isn’t an issue so it’s gone number two I added a minecart shut off switch to stop the movement of Minecarts I’ll switch this on when I’m not using the smelter that way when I’m elsewhere Around my base I don’t have a bunch of unnecessary mine carts moving around and causing lag number three I added some workstations on either side of the bolt crafting interface I I’ve got a jukebox on the left and the usual stuff on the right crafting table storage hidden Ender Chest I also put in a clock up here so I can see when the kelp Farm will harvest and speaking of that let’s talk about it to reiterate the kelp Farm is hooked to a daylight sensor meaning that the flying machines will trigger every 20 minutes wait a minute that’s All right a full day in Minecraft is 20 minutes the daylight sensors will trigger every 10 minutes once for day once for night I definitely have been saying 20 this whole time oops anyways this is all great for when I’m working around in the kelp Hub but again I don’t Want it to be running when I’m elsewhere around my world so I added a toggle switch to disable the automatic daylight sensor mode and I also added a button to manually trigger the farm in case I want to do a oneoff as you can see I just Threw this in here it’s temporary don’t worry I couldn’t come up with a good place to put it inside the tunnel so for right now it’s just chilling right outside the exit here until I can come up with a permanent interface for it by the way I tallied it up and when this Thing is on auto Harvest mode it pumps out approximately four double chests of kelp per hour and when I switch it off and let the kelp grow to the max height then trigger manual Harvest I get over eight double chests of kelp shesh now might be a good time to mention the Scaling for this thing in the last episode ID said that I needed to build the equivalent of 11 40 wide modules in order to hit my desired Mark for kelp production but I never explained that when I designed the tunnel layout I ended up going way over the mark and Made it almost 16th so you could say that I built this thing a lot bigger than it probably needed to be but hey I don’t care it’s really cool and I don’t think I’m going to be complaining about the extra kelp anyways back in the kelp Hub here and the last thing I wanted to talk about is the aquarium floor initially my idea was to just throw some fish in here and call it good some salmon a few puffer fish whatever but then I went to a nearby coral reef to collect blue coral and that’s when I Remembered that I can use tropical fish I quickly noticed that there were actually a huge variety of different looking fish and it turns out that there are actually 22 unique tropical fish species in the game and a whole randomized system that assigns the fish a shape color pattern and pattern color For a total of 2700 different combinations this is a really cool detail and and I had no clue it even existed so I changed my game plan and decided to collect all of the 22 uniques to put into my aquarium floor as I searched around for them I also Collected some coral on the side and the whole thing didn’t end up taking all that long they seem to all have about the same spawn chances so my ability to find these guys had less to do with RNG and more to do with training my eye to spot the subtle differences in Appearance I got to say as someone who hasn’t played around with the Aquatic update stuff too much this was actually a lot of fun really nice addition to the game so here we are I’ve got all 22 uniques in this shulker box here let’s throw them In ah very nice I hope they don’t stay all clumped up like this that would kind of stink anyways that’s another step knocked out so now we’ve got kelp production dried kelp block manufacturing and of course the super smelter but one last thing is missing it needs an interface for years now these Two dwarves have sat watching over the forge and even back when I thought this project was done I think the deep down I always knew something better would replace them I’ve been holding off on showing you guys this build because I think it’s one of the coolest things I’ve designed to date right up there with ma Ramis in the dark portal it deserves a grand reveal and I can’t think of a better way to do it than to gradually let it take form in one final epic time lapse let’s do this [Applause] thing [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] oh [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Welcome everybody to the Dragon Forge H it’s rather dark in here isn’t it there’s only a few sources of light the magma blocks up top the large pool of lava down at the bottom and a small glow inside the mouth of the forge itself actually if we look closer here there’s Some subtle puffs of smoke rising out suggesting that it may still be hot I’ve got some Shuler boxes here that need to be smelted and if I go ahead and throw them into the input chest you’ll find that the forge is in fact hot and ready Who wrote this the eyes of the dragon fire on and lava begins to ooze out of its throat familiar looking Dwarven faces come to life in response Each One releasing a long stream of lava that returns down to the pools below the entire room is now flooded with bright Orange light thanks to the Abundant Dwarven mechanisms working behind the scenes completing their automated tasks on either side of the Dragon here there are carefully hidden buttons that reveal secret passageways Into the Heart of the forge inside we can watch this thing in action firing on all cylinders and Smelting over 14 items a second the forge Master here keeps a close eye on the system he too flickered to life when the forge was activated as did the many lava spouts in the walls that feed into the forge but all good things must come To an end and when all the smelting is done the forge will come to a stop all the lights will flicker off and the lava will slowly dissipate sending the room back into its dark and lifeless State once again the forge sits dormant waiting for its next task yeah like I Said one of the coolest things I’ve designed so far the tunnel itself wasn’t very groundbreaking I just used some modified elements from the Kelp tunnel designed to make the hallway layout you’ll recognize the columns recessed ceilings and the elevated platform I wanted both of these tunnels to feel Similar but stand out in their own way that way the whole project is cohesive but each area also feels like its own unique experience the dragon on the other hand that took some time to develop at first I really struggled to come up with something to put here Because of the constraints obviously it had to cover but not interfere with the Redstone for the super smelter and it also couldn’t be very large either because I was close to breaking through the surface at the top I didn’t have my breakthrough until I finally saw this Image here of a dwarf hammering away into a Forge shaped out of a dragon severed head it was perfect the head could sit on top of a raised platform covering the Redstone and it could stay a relatively small size providing that I could make it look cool for context as I Design stuff I’ll often copy stages of it over that way if it doesn’t work out I can just revert back to an earlier stage instead of reversing my work and these were the stages of development for the dragon head I was stuck in this area For a while of it just looking like a dumb blob but obviously I was able to break through that stage only then I encountered a new issue because what I thought was my final iteration here turned out to look like a Happy Dragon I mean look at the eyes they’re literally Kawaii eyes so yeah I had to change that and that brought me to the final product we see here it definitely worked out thankfully by the way if you didn’t know already I use Fire charges to activate all of the flaming eyes it’s just a dispenser with fire charges pointing Into Netherrack there are 24 fire charge dispensers for this whole layout that includes the dragon head and the forgem on the other side and these dispensers aren’t super accessible either so when I was planning out how many fire charges I wanted to make I made sure that I would Wouldn’t have to refill them for a while to me that was three stacks in each of them 72 Stacks total ish and at the time I was experiencing a pretty serious Blaze Rod drought I had none left so I went over to a nearby Blaze spawner I Discovered years ago and made it into a very quick and dirty farm Shuler crafts design it’ll be in the description I farmed there for over an hour and got about 18 stacks of blaze rods more than enough for my purposes and even some extra that I can use at my potions lab Hopefully that’ll buy me enough time to build a proper blaze farm so I’ve been really diligent about making sure I explain any changes that were made to the designs from the last video I do this because I want to make it easy for you guys to understand everything if you Want to build it yourselves and for the super smelter it’s mostly stayed the same since episode 5 where I redesigned it there are just three additions that have been made number one I needed a circuit that would know when super smelter was running so it could tell the Fire charge and lava dispensers to switch on I took a redstone line from this block here which will turn on when items enter the mine cart from this shulker box unloader this Redstone line connects to all of the dispensers and to these Pistons here which will remove the Blocks above these campfires and let puffs of smoke emit out of the dragon’s mouth this Redstone line also leads to a second circuit otherwise known as number two a hopper clock that delays the signal by 2 minutes then sends it over to the two shulker box loading stations Why did I do this well the loading stations have a flaw in that they won’t collapse a full Shuler box if it’s filled exactly the mechanism only collapses a box when it’s full and there are additional items trying to get in so it’s only a problem when the system is Finished and the last two Shuler boxes get filled up regardless of if they are full or not though this delayed pulse will now trigger the collapse mechanisms manually after the system shuts off there’s a gap in time between when the mine cart empties at the top and when The shulker boxes are done filling at the bottom and the two-minute set in the hopper clock covers that almost perfectly number three I put in the same refueling mechanism that I used over at the kelp smelter I’ll send out fuel from the Kelp Hub in this mine cart here It’ll travel through the furnace array and when it reaches the end this mechanism will check to see if the mine cart still has items if it does then a rail at the beginning will remain locked and keep it in a loop filling the system back and forth until it eventually Empties upon which it will return to the Kel Pub wow it’s a little weird having all this stuff built finally I’ve had this all planned out for close to a year now and in just a couple short weeks it’s suddenly all here this is by far the largest and most ambitious project I’ve ever taken on in Minecraft it’s not perfect I had plenty of learning experiences along the way but hey that’s just wisdom I can use for the next big project and believe me I have many more on the horizon but to conclude this whole project I thought it would be cool To go through the whole process of using these Dwarven tunnels it starts with needing a ton of items smelted I’ve got some shulker boxes of sand here just a random example of course totally not what I’m going to be cooking for the next decade but before I throw it into The forge I’ll need to go get some fuel so I’ll head over to the dmer hallway and take the second left to arrive at the kelp Hub I’ll come over to the dried kelp block storage Bay and grab out however much I need two shulker boxes Will be 4.5 Stacks ooh maybe I’ll make a book with a chart okay here we go now I can reference this thing to avoid doing math I’ll throw the fuel into this mine cart labeled super smelter look I even renamed the mine cart with an anvil so it shows up here Send it off and once it returns we are ready to cook throw it into the dragon forge the room comes alive and we are in business now what should I do while I wait twidle my thumbs AFK no I should come back to the kelp Hub and oh look at That it’s almost night time how about I actually head over to the kelp Farm and watch it Harvest a man look at the Flying machines oh wow you can see the kelp down there awesome maybe I’ll head back to the kelp Hub maybe throw on a record and get into the Mood oh look at that the Overflow sensor is on that means it’s almost full with about 650 stacks of kelp back filled in the system ready to go I did the math it’s really that much now I’ll grab out about 30 stacks and fill up the chest mine Cart over here a look at this one’s renam too based on the amount of kelp that’s theoretically in the system right now that should be right on target with how much we need I’ll shut off the override switch send out the mine cart and now the system will get to work Distributing cooking and extracting the kelp where it reaches its final resting place in the bolt crafting station oh look at that the lamps just switched on better get out my trusty axe chop all the chests down and start bolt crafting the blocks oh man look at that 48 Stacks not Too shabby huh hey I better check on the super smelter ooh it’s dark in here guess it’s done time to go get the Shuler boxes um yeah so I actually don’t have a place for the shulker boxes to go yet shut up so yeah as you’ve probably Realized by now I’m not actually done with this whole project yet and it’s not going to get done this episode I need to design a room to send these finished shulker boxes and I also have the spaces in between to connect everything up that I mentioned we’d worry about later right Now you can think of it like this I’ve completed all all the core structures for this project now it’s just a matter of coming up with the filler structures to merge it all together into one big Dwarven City oh I just realized I forgot to build the other connector tunnel by The kelp Farm H whatever that actually works out just fine because it wouldn’t have connected to anything yet anyways believe it or not my idea going into this episode was to just knock out the whole project in one Fell Swoop but the reality is that what I want to Accomplish with all of these underground connections goes well beyond the scope for this episode I want to have these underground areas lead to exits above ground and that involves a ton of planning and development for the custom biomes that I’ve started again that’s why I’ve intentionally left my tunnels Exposed to the surface to make it easier to develop the terrain above in the future so with this all in mind the plan moving forward is to gradually add these connector spaces in as I develop these biomes later on in other videos I considered tackling all of that in this Episode too but I think if I had done that the ideas would have been rushed and incomplete take it from someone who just tore down their old Dwarven Forge to build a better one I don’t want to make the same mistakes I used to make on This world and rush into a build before I’ve really fleshed out the whole idea my world is littered with projects like this the dead biome the nether volcano my farming Town whatever these are supposed to be a part of I still don’t really know no more and besides my Number one goal right now isn’t to complete this whole Dwarven tunnel project it’s to complete the Bedrock project now that my super smelter is finally done I can turn my attention back to this crazy idea and getting it knocked out once and for all I’ll see you guys in the next Episode Video Information
