For the past 2 and 1/2 years basically all I’ve been doing on my channel is just building and I’ve made some really awesome stuff but there’s one big problem building is slow like really slow I don’t have the time or the patience to just dip into a fug state For a month and come out the other side with some crazy project however everything changed when I heard about the Axiom mod you’re telling me that this mod integrates 3D modeling tools and userfriendly world edit functions seamlessly into Minecraft my mind was blor my world was changed but there’s Just one small issue I don’t know how to 3D model and even if I did there’s so many unique tools and controls here it’s seriously overwhelming like what is all this what is that if I really wanted to use aium I’d have to like hard commit my Time and energy to learning it as quickly as possible so what if I did that all right starting off on day one all I was really trying to do today was learn the basics right like I’m diving into this head first but I got to take Things one step at a time did I mention that I’m really freaking scared by the way cuz this is crazy learning new things is hard so I’m a little freaked out here but thankfully I have a really good starting point my buddy red Liam 5 made this really fantastic video Tutorial on The axum Mod so the first thing I did was watch through this entire thing it’s really great I’ll leave a link to it in the description if you want to check it out and after that like I had a rough idea of the controls And stuff so all that was left to do is to make a new Minecraft instant and a new world and just get going of course I wanted to start off with the basic controls you know making selections and then the various tools you can see on Little hot bar thing on the right here moving objects cloning objects stacking smearing extruding and erasing there’s some other cool little like features here if you hold down the right alt you can like draw a no clip and change your fly speed and change game modes and all This really cool stuff it’s really really intuitive it’s certainly a lot easier than world edit and then I got to the Advance menu boy this is going to be hard guys while I was poking around in the advanced menu I did find this very cool little like shattered dark oak forest mountain thing I wanted to turn it into something cool so I started off with the basic tools right like the painter just paints a texture of your choice noise painter allows you to do like texture mixing the smooth tool which I immediately realized was incredibly important to smooth out that rough and Jagged Minecraft terrain The Melt tool kind of like takes out little bits and pieces of the rock the contaminator which is a very fancy word for the grass painter so yeah I got to work smoothing out this island painting it all in stone I wanted to make this cool little like shattered Sky Island Kind of vibe I didn’t really paint the whole thing you can still kind of see where I gave up towards the bottom but I had some pretty cool stuff going on I was learning about the gradients I was learning how to paint you know Stone and Grass and Moss and all that stuff I was really getting into the swing of things and honestly I felt pretty confident so far like obviously this is only day one but I would say I was off to a very strong start hope hopefully we can keep this momentum going and there’s no major Setbacks or anything like that we’ll see day two all right this day was awesome I wanted to create like a proper landscape you know instead of just modifying existing weird terrain I wanted to make something basically from scratch I was thinking about these really cool like Western Badlands The Arches inspired by The Arches National Park in the US so yeah I got to work sculpting the terrain working with gradients I’m learning more about the gradient painter tool and also you know experimenting more with the existing tools that I learned about yesterday like the noise tool and the freehand brush definitely had to do Quite a few revisions to get the shapes of these cool arches right and really get them smoothed out nicely it was also kind of difficult to get the texture palettes right like I’m working with you know terracotta and granite and dirt and stuff and it was kind of annoying to Have to manually configure the noise painter every single time I’m not sure if there’s a way to fix that or not I got used to it but it was a little bit funky I guess and yeah I put in a good couple hours on this you know still Working kind of slow cuz I don’t really know what I’m doing in the slightest but it turned out decently I know it’s pretty small and I’m not 100% happy with it but the shapes are really neat and I love the texture combo with the Browns and the greens and the oranges and all That it’s really really cool especially with shaders day three I’m making a new project once again I want to make a mountain a volcano inspired by Mount Fuji in Japan I really like these gentle slopes and this nice snowy mountain cap and I want to make something like that In axium or I guess uh in Minecraft uh the game is not called axium even though it kind of feels like it I’m really messing around with the shape here going nuts with the block placing and smoothing and even the slope tool you can see to generate some really crazy Looking slopes but after all this work I was really not happy with this mountain the mountain shape just sucked I’m going to be real here it was not a goodlooking mountain it didn’t look nice it looked pretty terrible and I was getting kind of frustrated honestly like I was really Trying to make this mountain look good but I’m just not good at making goodlook mountains I guess so I totally needed to redo the mountain shape and you can kind of see that going on here I’m resurfacing a lot of things changing the shape a ton and finally I do manage to Settle on a shape that I kind of like you know of course it needs texture quite a bit and you can see me adding that in here and I kind of start to differ from the original plan a little bit I kind of fall back on a tried and True Mountain Side gradient that I’ve used in a previous video on mountains which is one of my favorite videos that I ever made so you know go watch that if you haven’t already I’m adding trees to right like I’m using the blueprint system which is a way of basically Saving schematics very similar to light matica inside the axium mod and then copying and pacing them it took me a little while to figure out but I got it down and it was fantastic definitely more intuitive than like matica so yeah I had some pretty big setbacks today I’m Not going to lie but this mountain turned out fantastic especially from these down angles down here it’s awesome and I absolutely love the way this turned out day four came around and it was time to start working on my final project and oh boy this one was going to Be big I’ve been making some decently sized stuff up until this point but this final landscape which I would be spending the last 4 days working on is going to be massive and right off the bat I was really feeling the pressure of working with such a huge landscape for My final project here I was really inspired by the surrealistic Landscapes of Roger Dean one of my favorite artists I’m trying my hardest to really get the scale of this down cuz it’s a big landscape it is a massive area and wow it is hard like by game’s lagging a Little bit replay mod can barely keep up with me here I am feeling intimidated I am feeling the pressure I do not like the way the rock tool is making these Landscapes and it is just so much work compared to these smaller builds I’ve been making previously I keep powering Through even though I really don’t feel that good about this I’m like so close to scrapping it and starting over with a different reference image but I just want to keep going going it’s so hard to make meaningful changes because everything is so big I genuinely have no Clue what I’m doing but I’m trying to get some cool surreal Mountain I’m trying my best guys just please bear with me this is going to be awesome by the end of day seven I promise you but right now it’s not looking so hot day five and I’m still trying to salvage the shape of this project I’m working a little bit with the texture as well starting to add in some of the proper textures like the oranges and the purples and even a little bit of green later and most importantly I made two very important Discoveries that completely changed my mind about this project I was down in the dumps I was not feeling motivated but you know what I found out that this thing looks amazing at night and even better with shaders on it was so cool look and even in its unfinished State I Was really really happy with what I was doing so with a renewed sense of motivation and purpose I started grading the mountain size adding new terrain expanding the entire canvas putting even some glow Len on the islands to really make them stand out I started working with some wackier textures like the Warped highi for the sides of the mountains which actually looked phenomenal at night with these shaders on so I was really happy with that decision added some grass in the foregrounds I made the water Bluer by not only setting the entire area to be a warm ocean but by painting the ocean Floor with light blue concrete which is really stupid but the ocean is supposed to be such a nice vibrant blue that I kind of just had to improvise a little bit you know here you can see I’m working on some of the outer regions of this map and yeah the replay can barely Handle it so I apologize for the clipping all in all I’m pretty happy with what I got so far but let’s keep going to day six and keep working on those details day six and I’m ready to start throwing in all the cool little details to finish up this project but First of course I have to finish up the texturing messing around with the texture of the rock some more I’m still not entirely happy with the orange section you know the purple bits are supposed to be background they’re supposed to be kind of faded into the Fog so they they don’t matter as much but the texture of the orange rocks is really concerning me I throw in some grass I throw in some rocks using some cool tree designs from a previous project I really like these jungle trees and I know they’re a little bit weird to Throw in on the orange terrain but it looks pretty dope all in all I’m just really relieved and happy with how this has come together it’s totally turned around from day four when I was really down to the dumps let’s go ahead and finish off this build day seven is Finally here the last day of our project and to be complete honest I kind of just did a little bit extra little polish and details pretty much did everything in the first 6 days which is pretty surprising I thought I was going to be working right down to The Bitter End so I’m really just doing finishing touches today like this final tree in the foreground a couple more rocks cleaning up little bits of stone that are you know poking through all a custom terrain and with that guys I think our build is pretty much complete I’m going to give You guys a cool little shaders Montage here so you can see exactly what I’ve created and oh man this was an awesome awesome adventure I know how to use axiim now that’s awesome it was a huge grind a huge undertaking especially for this massive final project but I’m Really really happy with all the work that I did and the end result is pretty freaking fantastic if I do say so myself so yeah guys I really hope you enjoyed coming along with me on this axom adventure if you did don’t forget to leave a like down below and subscribe if You haven’t already and while you’re down there comment down below what kinds of Axiom lens builds you’d like
