Nearly every modern game now receives updates to add on to what was originally released with Minecraft being no exception on February 29th 2016 the Minecraft Community was split into two with the 1.9 update contrary to what many think this update wasn’t just a change in how the combat system worked At First many hated this change as the weapon timing and shields revamp the Simplicity that Minecraft used to have Over time however people became more accepting of this change which created new communities that have grown throughout the years but some people in major servers like Hypixel and mplex Decided to stay with 1.8 as it’s what they had become used to now though these servers have experienced a steady decline from the peak of the pandemic old Minecraft has already come back from the dead in the past so it’s not unlikely that it would happen again or Is there really no hope anymore as the modern versions of Minecraft continue to sweep the general Community to get a better grasp for our answer in today’s video let’s start off with what can be seen as the last Saving Grace for 1.8 right now it’s combat if you want to be A good 1.8 pvper here’s what you must do you must learn how to click fast with a CPS of at least six six practice your aim learn how to use fishing rods or projectiles and especially learn how to have good movement after a bit of practice it doesn’t sound so bad but There’s not much more to it than that this can become still fast with how big the skill Gap can be at times unlike in many modern player versus player games the better player in the early version of Minecraft will always win due to how straightforward the combat is it’s a Simple yet complex way of combat that people no longer have much of an interest in as they used to if you grew up with it like I did then this probably doesn’t seem like such a big deal however a new player with a Dusty office mouse that can barely register a click Wouldn’t enjoy the feeling of being decimated in 3 seconds even the older players who have become popular from these old versions of Minecraft such as Preston plays lachland and vicstar have all moved on to new things this Mass Exodus of old players that have helped the community survive over the last few Years coupled with new players no longer joining it has made many servers like mplex and the hive go bankrupt due to spending too much an upkeep of the server and no longer having the inflow of money that they once did due to low interest interest also the new wave of Minecraft servers including hoplight and MCC Island have transformed the way combat and teamwork have worked on Minecraft due to combination of innovation and usage of what modern Minecraft provides which is drawn in new players of course there’s still popular 1.8 game modes like hyle Sky Block that Never seem to die but what will happen in a few years when that starts to die down people come to Minecraft to have fun and the promise of soul sucking grinding that the older versions of Minecraft provide compared to the Mindless entertainment that the modern versions do has made the old gameplay Outdated it’d be a lie to say that there’s no hope for 1.8 PVP as Minecraft has always had a sun urst in popularity every few years yet at this rate things aren linking too hopeful of seeing a 1.8 PVP based game mode ever average 10,000 concurrent players ever again Minecraft Is a game that has promised unlimited Innovation since it came out but how much is unlimited this isn’t just a question of 1.8 but Minecraft as a whole people have recreated a 1 by one of Earth and made huge blockart on an endless amount of both real and Fictional characters but what else is there there are there are only so many times you can place a block or hold down the left click button before it inevitably becomes boring humans are creatures of change just as much as they are of habit the only limitation to Minecraft as a whole is how long you can have fun with it and the new versions of Minecraft do a much better job with that there are more mobs more biomes and most importantly more things to do even if people claim it’s stale now the game has Improved on many of the aspects that 1.8 and previous versions didn’t have Nostalgia is powerful and can change people’s perception on things so many of the older generation may claim that modern Minecraft isn’t nearly as good as the original versions the updates that moing provides may not be enough for a Game the size of Minecraft but as long as people keep having fun and the game continues to sell well it’s not an issue they’re going to seriously address however there’s now a new generation out there making memories of their own keeping the game alive this is Amplified By having a community that makes you want to come back every day which is a Surefire way of keeping the game going even if the game play has gone on stale even if a herar to say it the older versions of Minecraft’s commun have been stained by some of the notorious members Of the community this includes people like Sky Does Minecraft who was one of Minecraft’s most popular YouTubers at the time and was exposed for abusing his pregnant wife and another well-known figure such as liin maker who was caught doing uh let’s just say not very good things with children meanwhile the new Wave of Minecraft content creators may be far from perfect but at least they are nowhere near as bad as they used to be not to mention that a bunch of 1.8 servers are filled with a surplus of toxicity that goes unchecked by the majority of Staff members course there Is still toxicity within modern servers as with any online space that’s just a given but the general atmosphere of a 1.8 Center server like high pixel is considerably more hostile and uninviting than a server like hoplight or mcci aside from 1.8 falling out of possible relevancy the version also seems to be Losing its other main point for still being relevant its performance improvements compared to Modern versions according to a post by the developer of OptiFine called sp61 14x who created a mod that helps the base game run fast with many useful optimizations the old versions of Minecraft had a default Memory of 1 GB or 1,000 mbes this isn’t so bad especially for a game like Minecraft which is pixelated and doesn’t require much anyway Until you realize that the memory allocation is terrible in addition over 90% of the memory allocation isn’t even needed which was probably a decision to make the life of The developers easier according to SP 64x while Minecraft may run fine even on a computer with a bad graphics card it causes significant issues when it comes to servers especially minor ones in order to have a fresh experience people like to add plugins to their servers which may lead to issues due to Insufficient Ram leading the lag spikes and crashes if you try to create a Minecraft server or realm With Friends of the last few years no matter the version you’ve probably experienced an issue loading chunks so hamper to the gameplay about 90% of the time this is due to the large accounts of allocated Ram needed to run multiple plugins and players smoothly if you try to host a server from anywhere between 1.13 and 1.16 then you’d know how bad the server optimization was nowadays though more modern versions have begun to become more optimized for Server creation which further entices servers to update to the Latest version there are many other non-hardware related limitations like the modding Community residing in 1.12.2 since changing mod packs between versions became time for huge mod packs so he decided to stick with one version for everything however this created a third division within the Minecraft Community people could either join the Modding Community the PVP Community or the Casual community and for a game with tens of millions of players this shouldn’t have been an issue but there was a point where they were practically becoming different games it doesn’t help that when 1.13 came around Mojang decided to rework their game structure Completely overhauling the plug-in command and World Generation designs so knowing this what does 1.8 offer that others don’t well not much aside from the combat and Nostalgia value 1.8 is limited in terms of design the nether is bare the caves are boring and it can get repetitive fast unless you play on a Server and as mentioned earlier most of the once popular servers are now gone with Hypixel remaining as a Lone Survivor who knows it could be possible that in a few years there may be nothing going for 1.8 aside from its Nostalgia value to answer our original question It’s hard to see Minecraft as a whole ever dying but 1.a may be on its way out as for one more server reference there has been talks of upcoming updates for Hypixel Sky Block to be set in later versions of the game presumably because of all the Innovation being rung dry This is massive considering that at any given time Sky Block can account for 50% of hypixel’s online player count this approach highlights just how little the developers have left on the table for even their biggest game mode once Hypixel can no longer sustain itself there may not be a place for the more Casual Community to go to the only solution would be to either quit Minecraft as a whole or upgrade to a more modern version however Niche communities will survive as long as Minecraft and Mojang continue to support the old versions of Minecraft by keeping them playable and who knows maybe Someday 1.8 will go back to being the Pinn of gaming like it was for many years in the last decade as long as a realm of possibility is present it gives 1.8 its final dying hope of someday coming back to its golden Era Video Information
