It’s safe to say that everyone remembers that feeling of launching Minecraft for the first time building your first house out of dirt and working your way towards defeating the Ender Dragon over time though that survival experience became boring and we switched to other modes like Sky Block hardcore or the thousands Of other ways to play Minecraft with so many ways to play it’s natural that many are forgotten over time despite being immensely popular during their respective eras in this video I’ll be going over some of my favorites that maybe haven’t been completely forgotten but the general Community pays little Attention to as a side note I will criticizing a lot of these modes as they hav been forgotten for a reason in 2013 Mojang announced Minecraft realms a server hosting service intended to enable players to run their own server easily and safely without having to use external programs It was a subscription based way of paying that came at varying prices depending on how long you bought it for with the cheapest being $8 a month with reoccurring fees a lot of people use realms for that yearly s SMP to play with their friends that dies after 2 Weeks so there’s not a lot of people who know about the mini games available there’s a large variety of games that are readily accessible in the game menu such as 3D mind sweeper that’ll give you a headache after 10 minutes of playing other cool mini games that I found was Dodge tag which is kind of similar to Parkour Tag for Minecraft Championship with more free rign the last game I want to mention is Bolt it has Capture the Flag freeze tag and Team Deathmatch with many different maps to pick from if you don’t like the sound of any of those There are hundreds of other mini games to pick from and that’s precisely the issue there’s just so many that after three you’ll get bored it would take you so long to find a game that’s worth your time and the games themselves aren’t even that interesting as most are Knockoffs such as ripoffs of bedwar SkyWars and even parkour somehow although Realms has many hidden gems such as Bingo which is an amazing Team game but you can also just create an etno server and play it there so why would anyone pay $8 a month for something they could have for free there Are thousands of servers that offer better experience of PVP parkour and other mini games for free personally I’ve always loved Realms as it was always a way to get away from some of the mainstream servers and and just hang out with friends yet it’s pretty clear Why Mojang doesn’t go out of their way to advertise the mini games available aside from mini games there are also custom adventure maps to pick from in the Realms options menu but honestly they’re all pretty mundane overall I would recommend the realm mini games if you’re Bard with the S&P you’re using it For and don’t want the subscription to go to a complete Waste Sky Block is one of Minecraft’s most well-known experiences which almost every casual player has either played or heard of however what is often forgotten is its long lost twin sky grid sky grid was created by Seth bling who also created many other popular Minecraft Games and came out over 12 years ago it is just an infinite grid of blocks going in every direction in the sky just imagine you took every block in Minecraft and evenly space them out from each other almost a decade ago famous YouTubers such as iBallistic Squid vixar And Alia uploaded series on it that obtained millions of views giving SkyGrid a huge popularity boost so why is it almost completely forgotten nowadays while some videos about sky grid have been posted in the last year albeit few and far between most casual players have no idea what it is let’s First look at its counterpart Sky Block to get our answer Sky Block is a game that is simple and easily accessible as many servers such as Hypixel cubecraft and manic Cube have their own version of it that are different from one another those can be seen as too complex for any Players though so it’s possible to download your own custom maps at your leisure after all it is just a small island in the middle of the sky where you can bring as many friends as you want to play at your own pace this broad yet straightforward concept is greater Bringing in casual players and keeping them invested meanwhile sky grid is a floating grid with a much less inviting atmosphere it may be fun for a while but it can get stale pretty quickly there are few servers to offer it and it’s impossible to update such a game mode Making it less attractive to players that might be interested a server like Hypixel constantly updat Sky Block to keep it fresh but sky grid is too straightforward for a big server to invest in I have been quite negative in the suction of the video but I do highly Recommend skyd if you have a bunch of friends and want to waste a few hours it’s a Minecraft experience unlike any other that someone who’s looking for a more complex mode while still keeping it vanilla may enjoy it’s not hard to see why it has been forgotten by the Majority of the community but it’s so unique from any other Minecraft game mode that it may interest many who don’t know about It Minecraft Legacy Edition has been released on many consoles such as the Xbox PlayStation and Wii U but has since been discontinued in favor of version that more similarly resembles Minecraft Bedrock if you had the chance to play it you probably remember the mini games and How amazing that Lobby was it even had this underground section you could explore between games but anyway in terms of gameplay these games were unmatched everyone was equally terrible at the game so it let to some memorable moments for everyone during their childhoods I’m sure everyone remembers Winning a game and being sent to the victory room in the lobby where you could wear an elytra and fly over everybody who lost unfortunately there were only three mini games to pick from which were battle tumble and glide battle was the necessary Hunger Games miname that every server had at the time Where everyone fought to the death on a small map tell was a copy of the popular Minecraft mini game sple that Ed snowballs fireworks shovels and TNT to break your opponent’s blocks from beneath their field so they would fall to their death and finally the least Popular mini game of the three was named Glide Glide was a mini game where players maneuver through a track while wearing an elytra trying to finish in the fastest time or score the most points by flying through colored Rings varying in point tallies these mini games on paper sound quite fun and That’s because they were anyone who played these could tell you that all of these were a blast to play when they were younger however all good things have a catch to them there were only three mini games so no matter how good the games were they could get boring Fast on top of that there were only three maps for battle and glide or at least it seemed that way as it turns out you could actually buy maps from the store with real money most kids who played at the time couldn’t even come near a credit card so you could probably Tell that a lot of people never got to play anything but the same three Maps over and over again while you can no longer buy Minecraft Legacy Edition at which some of the ideas from it came back for example the mini game Li was unique and I haven’t seen any servers if Any at all try something like it all in all I have fought memories of it and despite some of its clearing issues everyone who grew up playing the Legacy mini games loved them for what they Were last week I uploaded a video about Invaders a forgotten Hypixel miname that video only scratched the surface of Minecraft’s forgotten mini games with there being thousands of servers out there it’s natural that many have fallen Into Obscurity for example did you know that you could play fortnite in Minecraft well not quite as it was a Hypixel game mode that was released in 2018 during the insane popularity of the Battle Royale hype with pubg and fortnite taking off it was removed from Hypixel after a few months after release for unknown reasons although it can be Assumed it was because I didn’t want to seem like they were bandwagoning the trends at the time or it simply wasn’t doing well enough the next experiences I want to mention are the games on onep servers that have little to know players anymore for example one of Minecraft’s Biggest servers Mineplex used to average tens of thousands of of players before being taken down on May 11th 2023 but mylex had already been struggling with players as early as 2021 YouTubers such as Preston plays beian Canadian and Captain Sparkles used to average millions of views playing games such as Micro battles Dragon Escape and speed Builders but now since mplex has been taken down these games have been forgotten by the majority of the community in favor of s smps Ultra Hardcore and Sky Block Mineplex itself is still remembered by the majority of the community but the memories of the Vast majority of content that it provided has been diminished Hypixel being another culprit of this has many games that have less than 10 players at peak times like hole in the wall Warlords and Enders people may ask why nobody cares about these anymore but when there’s so many fun things to do on Minecraft why would you pick to play a game that’s a rip off of a much better game out there an example being smash Heroes which is a much less simple version of Super Smash BRS there are other notable games that have not been popular for a while such as factions or Prisons but if we kept on talking about all these topics the video would be an hour long For over a decade now the Minecraft Community has created games that have been met with lots of Praise criticism and everything in between as the years pass games that were once popular such as sky grid have lost most if not all of their interest features like Realms Never even had the initial chance to really take off and popularity do their inherent flaws and even servers that were once Titans of the multiplayer scene namely mplex have completely shut down by failing to adapt to the modern m multiplayer scene anyone who grew up playing any of these modes will share The same fond memories with everyone else and the least we can do now is thank the past content creators and Mini game creators for giving us reasons to enjoy our childhoods these have been the stories of the games whose time in the spotlight has come to a close but our Memories of them won’t fizzle out the Same Video Information
