Uncover Dark Secrets with Occultism in EP31

I’m chosen architect and this is my modded Adventure so in our journey thus far we have done a lot of stuff and what I’m holding in my hand might actually give a little bit of a hint as to what today’s episode is well of course the title and

The thumbnail but aside from that we’re going to be diving into occultism and we’re going to be using this effectively to provide ourself more power uh for the next episode which uh which I know I already have all these planned I I know I I kind of planned things out if you

Didn’t already guess but yes our power system is well using power but I want to expand on it and I don’t want to just keep using magers I want to get into the reactor side of things and to be able to get in the reactors we’re going to need

A very special material now I have recently updated this mod pack and we have tons of new things that you’re probably going to love in this update including a ton Time in a Bottle yes you guys asked for it time in the bottle now exists and can now keep track of your

Time uh throughout your playthrough and well you can also use some of that time if you want to uh but I also added a couple of ways of passively generating the raw uraninite from power and so this is one way through the if you remember how we have all of these ores being

Generated these are all coming from our industrial forgoing setup right here and so the industrial 4go is mining all of this stuff and now has a new thing that it can mine for but also occultism can do it um so if we look at the raw

Uraninite we can take a look here and see that we can also obtain it via this or Miner foliate or the Deep or Miner or the master all of these can mine for this and this is done via the dimensional Min shaft which is another way that we can effectively generate

Resources but not just this resource because there’s actually other things we can generate we can generate other materials as well with this aside from orsp with another type of gin lamp so I have plans today let’s dive into the occultism mod now where am I going to

Put this thing because all of these things that this mod uses takes a lot of space you’re going to need a ton of space some of these rituals require a 11 by 11 space to put them and I think the best place is going to be under this

Under this right we have this nice base set up already and I think right under here would be an amazing place to do that and we can also include like little windows in the floor that are going to let us sort of peek in but not only peek

In also allow some sunlight to cast down into the underground part so how am I going to do this when well I think right about here right here let’s go ahead and call this the bottom section and uh I’m going to need a little bit of space for

This but uh because our cables technically run right here so let’s do a space in between the cables and then we can go 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and I think seven might be perfectly fine um and then what I’m going to do is start

Expanding in the all directions until we get a nice sort of shape but this is where we’re going to get into another new mod that I haven’t really played with throughout this entire series is I’ve built a lot of things using RS and that is going to be building gadgets now

I sort of feel like I’m diving into my roots here because underground bases were a staple of my vanilla Journey when I was first playing Minecraft I absolutely loved building underground and building these massive look like underground cave systems that uh that felt and and felt like really nice and

Cozy like very reminiscent of like e ethos uh like underground base system except back then I really didn’t know who Etho was I was just that was just what I was doing and I really enjoyed it and I want to I want to sort of

Represent that so I do want to get a little bit random here but utilize some of these tools that I have available to me to be able to do that and underneath this whole area here I want to kind of get wild with it and uh I want to have

All of these expansive areas that lead off into where each of these rituals are going to be now to carve some of these areas out I’m using my boom spell yes the spell that essentially is a projectile explosion AOE spell and I’ve limited the AOE a little bit uh because

Well if you take it up too high uh it starts to destroy things in your base so I’ve already had to fix a few things cuz I decided to well blow up an area right here and it ended up cracking a ton of my dirt so I just fixed a bunch of that

But yes essentially I’m trying to carve out areas and be sort of random with it now like I mentioned before I want to get into the building gadgets mod so let’s make the exchanging Gadget which is going to be incredibly helpful for what we’re about to start now um so it does

Need to charge a little bit so put a little bit of charge in it and the cool part about this is we can sort of use this as a tool uh which I do have a keybind assigned to it by the way the keybind is assigned to G for me to open

Up this settings menu we’re going to get into that here shortly um but what we can do is add some different blocks into our inventory so for example I want some stone brick I also want some Stone that’s in here well actually Stone we’ll worry about later um but I want some

Cobblestone I’ll take some Cobblestone probably even some andesite some gravel some fun things like that so all of these things are going to hopefully allow me to customize the look and feel of the inside of this area as you see I’ve carved out this a little bit it

Still needs some final touches like it’s not perfect just yet but that’s what I’m going to be working on um but the exchanging Gadget has this cool Mode called grid and if I expand the grid um and I select a block for example let me

Go ahead and just place this here and I select this we can now see that that grid has changed and I can sort of change this a little bit here I can make it um some different sizes and things like that we can drop it down to like a

5×5 you can see the grid really starts to change when we do this and this will allow me to when I right click exchange the block right so I can run through and yes it is going to be sort of this grid per uh uh grid pattern uh for right now

That I’m placing down and and in the floor I’ll show you how we’ll be able to randomize this and make it a look a little bit nicer but if I if I just kind of go about this as random as I possibly can not really worrying too much about

The specifics of the grid layout um it will end up actually looking pretty natural uh by the end of it um so now that I’ve laid down the first layer let’s like expand this and then we get in here and start changing up some of the

Grid right and so this will end up making it look a little bit more natural having these different patterns go on but yeah and then I look like I want some Andes right so I can just start randomly placing some andesite down in this crd pattern and eventually this will look

Very Checker boardy and well that’s not really what I’m going for not Checker boardy it’ll look pretty random as if we we specifically wanted these things to be laid out into the floor but I want to really do this to the wall uh that’s essentially what I want to do is in the

Walls I want to make them look a little bit more natural and this is going to definitely help with that that also I think on the ceiling if I switch this over to surface mode I want to essentially turn all of the top layer here of dirt into stone to make

Everything sort of fit better when we start to decorate more of the interior parts now at this point you’re probably wondering chosen where’s the occultism believe me we’ll get into it in just a moment but I’m still sort of decorating the interior part of this area and I

Just gathered some of these Silver Birch leaves from the biome that’s right behind me and I think these are going to look beautiful now I want to get into occultism because there’s some special logs from occultism that have this really dark color and I’m like you know

What that would look really good under here and uh almost look like some supports and so let’s get into the first little bit of occultism now some of the things that we’re going to need for this is going to be some farmland and we’re going to place down this Demon’s dream

Seed and then well bone Mill it and we should get some Demon’s fruit now if you remember early on in our series uh over here was a special occultism area now this isn’t the only place that you can find occultism logs uh but you may stumble upon these little areas

Underground and these are pretty darn cool these are all filled with occultism logs but you can’t Harvest them correctly until you’ve eaten one of these demon fruit and you are granted the third eye now Sonic guarantee you’re going to see it every time but now that

We can see this we should be able to actively Harvest these logs and when we get them notice this says Minecraft log we should be able to if we Harvest them normally actually get that fruit again maybe if you harvest them with uh without using your tool you won’t get

The right log yeah there we go so if you yeah apparently if you silk touch them uh with the spell book you won’t get the appropriate logs so you will need to go about it this way uh but yes that demon fruit we should also be able to get very special

Saplings from this as well and then once we have the saplings then we can just grow these trees in that way um but yes this is the lock it’s very odd that the that you can’t use the the RS for this because if you just Harvest this log

You’re going to get regular Minecraft oak logs but yes we are going to need several of these for right now and we’ll have that demon fruit um now that third eye effect is not the only way that you can go about getting this otherworldly log um

Cuz we should be able to get it in other ways um by taking a sapling a regular oak sapling and we can toss it into a spirit fire and we’re going to get an A cultism oak sapling in that way uh now how do we get Spirit fire well this is

Where we take flint and steel and we have to ignite the demon fruit so we toss the demon fruit on the ground and don’t worry about your stuff burning cuz it doesn’t work that way and you light it and we get Spirit fire and so let’s take some plain old

Saplings and let’s go ahead and get oursel some custom Oak saplings now this is going to continue to burn you don’t have to worry about it going out it’s just going to stay lit there but we do need to grow some of these trees because

Here I am twerking because I want to be able to get this now it looks like a regular Oak log and that’s because it is we’re going to need the third eye to be able to harvest this so I think an axe would definitely be useful in this

Situation because I want a bunch of these so yeah I think I’m going to end up clearing out that entire area over here and yes this is a super trippy effect having that third eye now something else you might notice when I eat this food here and we do get that

Third eye this turns into this black material and that’s because this is actually Otherworld Stone now this is not the only way that you can get otherw World Stone so you don’t have to worry about finding this structure specifically as I just showed earlier

But this is a way that you can get it uh the other way would be to just toss Stone into that Spirit fire The Same Spirit fire that we just made the sapling with this is also how you would go about converting Stone actually I think it’s made from andesite so yeah

You would need some and sight some Ander sight right here and just toss it in and there you go you get some other Stone which is all going to be utilized down here in our build this is going to look so good up against this almost looking like they’re actual trees that

Are in here but yes this this is kind of what I was going for and these leaves have these really nice dripping particles on them as well oh this is going to be very fitting in here one thing I should note to be able to get these leaves from regions unexplored you

Do need to use silk touch in order to obtain them that is uh I I don’t know if that’s intended on their end I’m going to ask them um if that was actually is that how it’s supposed to be to be able to harvest these cuz a lot of the stuff

Actually requires silk touch from their mod man I tell you what this is looking so good I finished a little bit more of the detail but we’re about to dive into the ritual making and um this is where these areas are sort of meant to to exist and and um there’s probably going

To need to be some sort of revisions and like things I’m going to need to expand for certain ones to fit because these rituals do get quite large like I mentioned before um but I think overall this is going to work out really well and this also is perfect timing because

Occultism works really well with the time in the bottle because the only unfortunate part about occultism is that in the hard part in my opinion is not that it’s hard it’s just that some of them take a really long time and it just feels like an absurdly long time for

Some of these rituals to finish with like no requirements just time that it takes um so hopefully the time in the bottle will help accelerate that and I’ll show you how that’s going to work here in a moment now inside of our book here which is going to explain

Everything you really need to know about occultism is uh one of the first things we’re going to need to do is start our chalk production we need to First Make It Burn and then right here talk talks about um using a divination wand we can find certain materials and then it talks

About candles and how we get Tallow that’s something we’re also going to need to farm uh but we also need to get some chalk which is how we’re going to write out our first rituals now the cool thing is we can actually display one of our first rituals just like this by

Placing them out um and I I think this might be enough room here for this ritual if it’s not like I said we’ll end up uh moving some things around to make sure it does fit it looks like it should fit perfectly right here now notice it does require those candles so occultism

Has a special weapon that you need to use to get Tallow um so occultism and we are looking for the butcherer knife now I will say that the best way to get Tallow is to well kill pigs and I hate killing pigs pigs are friends and

They’re my favorite thing in the game so I don’t really want to kill them I think we can get Tallow from killing cows but if we have to resort to killing pigs H I guess we can let’s test it first You’ think I’d remember this can we get

Tallow from cows we can oh perfect and we can probably also get it from sheep and I have no problem taking down any of those mobs yeah let’s just uh let’s just avoid killing the pigs there’s really no use for it you get more saturation out of cow

Meat sorry cows I mean it looks like you can even get it from horses I mean it’s uh it depends on how ethical you think that is it is funny that I will I will kill a horse in the game but I I just draw the line at pigs

Like pigs are just not them now Tallow the reason we need it is because it’s used in the candle making uh part of occultism you can make these really cool looking candles and these are going to be necessary for just about every ritual uh some of them requiring more than

Others so let’s go back into our little occultism book here and we’ll reapply our ritual and this is going to be like the base ritual and let’s go ahead and apply this and I think we found that it fits perfectly right here and we’ll notice that the corners here get candles

You can also use vanilla candles as well so like regular candles from vanilla Minecraft but these look just so much better and you can also light them they don’t have to be lit uh actually can you light them doesn’t appear like it maybe they’re lit by default they are giving

Off light so they just don’t have a little flame on them with the shaders and it might be a Shader thing but regardless we also need that chalk so back to occultism and how we actually get the chalk um so first things first we need to take inure chalk which we

Make from Otherworld ashes and burnt Stone so ashes are coming from the wood that we gathered and the burnt Stone is coming from the stone all of this in a cultism here and this is going to go into our spirit fire so 1 2 3 and 1 2 three oh wait this

Doesn’t seem to burn does it um so I think for the otherworldly Stone this has to be done differently right it has to be smelted uh it doesn’t actually go in that system so all the way over here we can head over to our smeltery and we

Can go ahead and toss a few of these in we’re going to need uh I think a few of them for later on so I’m going to give quite a few of them and that’s going to automatically go into our system and now we have some burnt other stone that I

Can now use to make our first piece of chalk but it’s inure and we need to purify it and to do that I’m going to be smelting it inside of our little flame here and so we just toss this in and now we have our first piece of white chalk

And we’re going to be able to now scribe or write down with the chalk on these little platforms here uh and now we have just about a completed ritual but we’re missing our sacrificial bowl and that’s that’s a pretty important part um so the sacrificial bowl is going to cost a

Little bit of gold and we’re also need regular bowls um so where are they at they’re down here okay so sacrificial bowls are made like so but here is the golden sacrificial which goes in the middle now as soon as we put this it’s complete and it’s done but we are still

Missing a few things that we’re going to need uh specifically we are going to need more of the sacrificial bowls for each of these individual little recipes here and the sacrificial bowls are going to go on the outside and we’re going to see that in a moment when we make our first

Ritual so it talks about where you can place these sacrificial bowls and you can see they can be placed inside and all kinds of different places which is pretty cool you can place them on the outside and uh but they need to be pretty close right so they need to be

Within a certain range uh it looks like eight right within the central and this is the first thing we’re going to make so we are going to be making our first demon um and it’s going to be a Crusher demon a foliate and we need to make it

With this book and we need raw silver iron gold and copper all in their raw forms and I’m pretty sure we have all that so there’s the raw silver there’s the raw copper raw gold and I believe it was raw iron right so all of those are going to need a sacrificial

Bowl and so let’s just go ahead and place them right here and that works just fine and so we can click these onto the sacrificial bowl and all of our rituals are going to sort sort of work this way um so those are on there and

Then we need that book right and that’s the confusing part is how do you get that bound book from occultism um it’s just a basic book that’s a foliate which is the first one here in the list that it it’s said to do but you’re going to

Need some ink which which is going to be black dye and that’s going to get converted into ink inside of our soul flame let’s go Ahad and just make a bunch of them perfect we just toss them all in uh and then we’re going to combine this we’re going to combine this with

Some white dye and a bound book right a book and quill we’re going to need several books and quills so I’m going to go ahead and make a couple and there we go so we have that but it’s not bound yet so to do that we have to combine it

With the dictionary of spirits and then that is going to basically put the soul in it I guess pretty sure that’s how this works it’s a very interesting mechanic and all based off of um some very interesting uh lore um but now that we have this to activate this ritual we

Just need to place it on here and it has already started so these little particles that you see have started but if you wanted to speed this up and you have the time in the bottle you can shift and then right click on the middle

Here and that will speed it up of course the more you put into it the faster it will go because this just takes some time it takes time consuming this nothing else it it’s not using any kind of aura or anything like that it’s just simply going to take some time and then

As soon as it’s done look at that we have ourself a Crusher demon and it does have an interface uh that we should be able to interact with right so if we shift right click on it you can see it is a slow Crusher and it will crush ORS

And all kinds of different stuff but to progress through occultism to be able to make the upgraded uh areas right the upgraded chalk which is what we’re going to need for the higher tier rituals which is what we’re working towards we are going to need to feed that demon

Some very specific materials one of them being obsidian right it it’s going to need obsidian and it’s going to need to crush that but it’s also going to need endstone so these are the two things that you want this thing to crush first um so first off let’s go ahead and give

It some of these you can also uh toss it onto the guy so if you toss it at him it will put it in its inventory which is pretty cool and is also kind of a way that you can automate it later on uh

There’s also a mod in here that uh is in the pack that allows you to put these in jars and uh I kind of want to test that out but I think the higher tier ones would be much better but you can put them in jars from RS and supposedly they

Work work the same way like but they’re inside of a containment jar so they’re not like moving about all over the place because when this guy finishes crushing the item it’s going to just drop it on the ground and so we’re going to need

Some way to pick that up later on if we plan on automating this guy but for right now uh my focus is to just get the ore production going so that’s going to require jumping into several different recipes that are built exactly the same way as this however we do need to

Upgrade to at least a certain tier and there’s a couple of rituals that are required in order to get there now in this particular case I’m trying to progress basically up into these magical lamps and into the miners now to do this we are going to have to go through just

About every little thing that is needed and required in order to get into um occultism and that means we need to find a very particular ore in the Nether and uh we’re going to have to mine it with a particular pick and to get and be able

To find the in the nether we need to be able to see with that third eye effect and that’s going to require its own ritual just to get these Otherworld goggles which will allow us to see into that plane that these uh these demons

Can see in um so to make this I’m going to need gold chalk basically and this comes down to yes we are going to need chalk of different tiers um and that means we are going to need the base chalk and and all of that other stuff so

Yes that means I’m going to need some more of this just to toss in now I have enough to be able to make inure gold chalk at least I thought I did one more there we go um so impure gold or impure chock with some uh gold

And uh glowstone makes the Gold version and now we can combine that with our white chalk and we just fill out this same pattern that uh it is described in the book and it’s so nice that it gives us this template because that makes it so

Easy to be able to put these together and yes again candles for just about everything so just be prepared to make some candles as you’re going to need it and several sacrificial bowls now this is our first introduction to the spirit attuned gems uh and these are going to

Be used um for a lot of crafting further on and so I need to basically sacrifice some diamonds I think we have plenty yeah plenty of diamonds so let’s go ahead and toss all of these in and we should get back Spirit attuned gems um and these are going to be uh basically

Used for several different crafting recipes including the pickaxe head that we’re going to need to make here in a little bit but also these lenses um so I’m going to need silver some some silver I think it’s just two silver and this gets all converted I think even

Gold um I I think it’s like the actual version so thankfully ji does show you the recipes which is pretty nice yeah we just need need to take the two silver one gold on these plates with the lenses and then one piece of gold and then we’re going to do

The same process that we did earlier with making this book right and so that’s going to be probably the the most painful part of all of this go and make a bunch of Dy is you’re going to have to remake this book over and over again and

You’re going to have to do the same process over and over again so with that it does say we’re missing some stuff right what are we missing huh well it does tell us we’re missing Spirit of tuned crystals um and I I made a mistake that you’re probably going to make as

Well and that is I put candles where Spirit attuned crystals are supposed to go and these are basically combined versions they’re like four diamonds each and they’re combined together and that will be also used now in our rituals so perfect it’s now complete and now we can

Start this and get permanent vision and while this is working let’s see oh yeah we’re going to need to do this uh sters higher binding ritual in order to combine together a pickaxe and uh that’s going to be our next step now if you want a list of all of the different

Rituals they’re all sort of listed here uh by their name and so you may see a recipe requires like for example the higher binding here and uh because of that we can now take a look and go oh okay so we can put this in place but

Keep in mind that not all of these rituals are going to be something that you can craft right now do we have this purple chalk no not yet uh the purple chalk though we should be able to craft because of our first initial thing now anything that uses the red shock we’re

Going to have to go through a process to get uh don’t know if we need to do it right now but that is something that we need to keep in mind so this right here is the next ritual so I’m going to go ahead and place it in this this is the

Higher binding and so yeah it’s going to need us to make more chalk all of these uh chalk components by the way they they came from that initial Crusher demon so you should have all of this if you’ve followed the instructions this far now the pick is going to require the book of

Genie which uh this one is going to require Cactus um and we’ll find that here this is the book of JY or Genie or however you want to pronounce this I’m going to try my best to pronounce it the way I I know how to kind of pronounce it

And perfect so so now that we have this I have my pick here this requires five sacrificial bowls and so there we go so this is going to be crafting a genie into a pickaxe yeah these poor souls so now we should have everything we need we

Have our pickaxe um and we now have our goggles I went ahead and crafted them together and I’m going to toss everything away because now we need to travel into The Nether and we need to equip this and when we equip it we get that third eye effect now permanently so

This is a great way as well to tree farm and do all those uh farming tasks now this is going to be a pretty rare thing to find it does say that this is well like I said a pretty rare thing to even spot now once we do spot it we can

Potentially use a divination rod on it to hopefully see it better or find it which would allow us to sort of locate it but yes this ore should now be Spott we just got to find it yeah yeah so after a little bit of soul searching

I did manage to find this right here and so this just says Netherrack it does stick out sort of like a sore thumb but you’re not going to see a whole lot of it uh I traveled quite a ways to be able to find some of this and it’s right here

Now once you do find some make sure you have a divination Rod because you’re going to want it cuz you’re going to need to shift right click on it to store that ore to this divination rod and then you can hold down right click and then it’s going to show you

Where it’s at in the world uh and if you’re near some which you see this is the only one nearby right now uh but if you’re near some it’s going to show you where it’s at and then we can Harvest it now with our pickaxe and this is the

Only way you can get it is by having the goggles on and having this pickaxe break it the infused version so yes now I’ve got to take the trip and try and see if I can’t find more of it it doesn’t appear like this takes durability which is kind of nice these

Rats man doesn’t appear like it takes durability but notice on the uh the bar here um we do have a bar like if it does find something and we click it will rescan the area and it will show me if I’m getting hot or cold and you see I’m

Now cold actually it’s right there uh under underneath the lava uh it does appear like that’s sort of a common thing is that it will end up being under lava so let’s see can I find it though like in Upper levels or is it always going to be underground like that that’s

What I’m wondering so let’s see I don’t see anything here and it says we are pretty cold pretty cool actually it says we’re pretty close Okay so we’re getting further away but we were near okay okay we’re right on it apparently I don’t see the outline from

It shown on the map so I don’t know if it’s here or or actually where it’s at but yeah that’s that’s sort of the thing it might be just shaders that I’m not able to see it aha so it seems like this area there’s definitely some You’ just got to make your way

There oh boy yeah finding this stuff is really rare and as you can see oh and most likely we’ll end up being in lava so yes this is definitely going to be a process yeah it looks like it spawns like in the ancient debris sort of

Level we should see it here soon yeah it’s literally right here and there it is so yeah it seems like it’s going to be just about as common as ancient debris oh interesting it does look like you could potentially find more than one in one area so yeah uh completely like

This yeah I just made a tunnel basically that takes me into lava yeah it’s it’s a thing so now we have effectively found all of the ingredients that we are going to need to make a really cool Miner now this is going to span between two episodes so of course next episode is

Going to be the continuation of this into the process of automating because there is a lot to cover in this mod this mod is very very very large in concept uh it doesn’t seem like a whole lot when you look at it in ji but there is a lot
