Hello YouTube how is it going today I’ll be showing you how to create an automatic bee farm that will produce honey bottles and honeycomb these items will allow you to create a variety of other useful items honeycomb enables you to wax copper blocks preserving their current state and serves as a crafting Ingredient for beehives candles and honey conb blocks honey bottles allowed to cure poison create sugar and craft honey blocks these sticky honey blocks have various applications including usefulness and Redstone bills defending against Hostile Mobs slowing you down when falling and trapping such as villagers without the need to place Blocks above their head up to three bees live and produce honey in either a beehive or a bee nest they can enter through any side top or bottom that isn’t obstructed by solid blocks using half slabs for example wouldn’t prevent the bees from entering or exiting however bees can only exit through the Front so a solid block here would prevent the bees from leaving bees nest can be found naturally in the following biomes with the chance of spawning a nest when growing at either an oak Birch or Mangrove tree bee hives are crafted by the player but need honeycomb to Craft so You’ need to harvest a bee nest for honeycomb first before being able to craft a hive when harvesting honeycomb and honey bottles both bee hives and Nest function identically you can collect honey bottles by using an empty glass bottle on the hive or nest and Honey Cone can be harvested by using a pair of shears for manual harvesting it’s advisable to place a campfire Under The Hive or Nest to prevent bees from attacking you when mining The Nest or Hive with the intention of keeping the bees inside bees nest require a silk Touch tool to collect without silk touch the nest will be destroyed releasing the bees which will then become aggressive and attack you on the other hand beehives can be mined with any tool or even with your bare hands however you will only receive an empty Hive and any Bees inside will start to attack you other than the differences between beehives and nests that I just mentioned both function in the exact same way and it is completely your choice of which to use in your farm so for the sake of Simplicity from this point on I shall Refer to both beehives and B nests as just beehives bees create Honey by first collecting pollen from nearby flowers and then bringing that pollen to their hive they will do this while following the day and night cycle during the day they are productive whilst at night they Are asleep in their hive with this mechanic in mind it’s best to collect any bee hives during the night time as all the bees will be inside sleeping meaning you’ll collect a fully populated Hive if you’d like the bees to be productive all the time then you can Skip the night cycle by sleeping in a bed or by building this Farm in the end or the never where there is no day in night cycle it is also worth noting that the bees will rest occasionally during the day so don’t panic if you can’t see any bees during daylight hours visually Beehives have two states empty and full with harvesting only being possible when full although technically from a redstone perspective they have six Stakes 0 to five with zero being empty and five being full and one to five giving off a redstone signal before we start to build this Farm make sure that You have all your materials ready here is a list of items needed to create a farm using five beehives for this Farm to be at Max efficiency you’ll need to use beehives that contain three bees each to make sure that each Hive has three bees or to breed all your hives From scratch bring a beehive that contains at least two bees to an enclosure like this make sure that you place all of your other empty or part filled hives in here as well now give each of your bees a flow by using it on them this will place the bees into love Mode resulting in the birth of a new baby bee parent bees will need 5 minutes before being able to breed again and baby bees need 20 minutes before growing into adults enabling them to be bred repeat this process until all your hives are full you can tell if your hives are Full or Not by waiting for nighttime if there are still bees flying around the enclosure at night time and this means they have nowhere to go meaning all the hives are full now make making sure it’s nighttime collect all your hives and Nest using a silk touch tool to automate The collection of Honey bottles and Beeswax we will be using a redstone build that uses dispensers the dispensers will hold either shears or empty glass bottles this will depend on your specific needs I’ll be showing you how to create a farm that uses 5B hies but here is an example of a single Segment of the bee farm the Redstone is very simple the hives sit on top of the Hoppers which act as the collection system leading into a chest a comparator points into the hive reading its signal strength once a signal strength of five is produced the dispenser is activated Harvesting the honey bottles or honey comb allowing our collection system to collect the harvested items be aware that when using glass bottles you will need to make sure that each section of the dispenser is never empty otherwise the honey bottles will be stored inside the dispenser instead of being spit out Into the collection system this glass block here is a transparent block this allows Redstone connections to pass through it even if the line is cut off with another block you could also use half slabs here the repeater extends the signal into the dispenser since high produce a Max single strength of five Placing the repeater with redstone wouldn’t work this is because a signal strength for six would be needed to reach the dispenser without a repeater and this design is pretty much as compact as you can get it five segments of this design will produce around 64 honey bottles per hour or 192 honey conb Per hour now let’s build the five segment version start by placing a chest with five Hoppers pointing into that chest and into each other next place temperary blocks on top of the Hoppers later we will place our beehives here now place any blocks of your choice Behind The Hoppers with Comparators on top of these blocks with the two prongs pointing into the temporary blocks now Place another row of blocks here and here and then place redstone on all of these blocks now Place another row of blocks here now place a row of glass blocks Here and then two more rows of any other block here Place repeaters facing this direction on this row of blocks and then place redstone on the remaining blocks next place a row of temporary blocks in front of the repeater and then Place dispensers under each of these blocks whilst making sure the dispenser Front side is pointing into the first set of temporary blocks now place any design block of your choice in front of the dispensers and then remove all of the temporary blocks now there are two options for Java users and one option for Bedrock users Java users can place Dirt blocks here with a flower on each block or you can use flow gelia leaves instead bedm players as far as I’m aware will have to use flowering exelia leaves because in this design bees can’t occup occupy the same space as flowers in Bedrock versions wait until night time To place the beehives this way the bees won’t escape the enclosure and then Place Glass Blocks around to complete the design you could also use any blocks here but glass blocks in my opinion are better as they let you see inside to watch the bees work and that’s the farm Complete I would recommend expanding this design to improve the output it can be expanded horizontally or vertically to suit your productivity and design needs you could also create a minecart loading system that keeps the dispensers full of empty bottles and shears just make sure that the honey bottle and Honeycomb versions of this Farm are separate otherwise the loading system will mess the farm up also if you don’t need this Farm to be so Compact and would prefer a nicer looking design you can expand the enclosure whilst keeping the Redstone elements the same I will be Building this Farm in my next Survival episode alongside a bunch of Design and Renovation element so if you’d like to see that or any
