Hello guys, in todays mod showcase, we’re going to take a look at Untamed Wild. It massively improves the exploration aspect of Minecraft, by adding new life to the game. There’s a few new creatures which are accurate to their real life counterparts, and they’re Modelled, animated and textured beautifully. This mod is available for Minecraft 1.16.5 using Forge, and if you like the look of it, you can find the link in the description below. The first creature I’m going to talk about is the Bear, which there are 8 different species Of. They’re large creatures, and are quite dangerous too. If a Bear decides to attack, then they’ll maul you dealing lots of damage. With all these different species, you’ll find them spawning in different biomes. There’s Polar Bears, Black Bears, Brown Bears and Even Cave Bears which can be found underground. They come in different sizes, colors and fur styles, and some will even hunt you for food, or search your Chests for food. Each Bear drops its own Hide, which are used in a Recipe to create Bear Rugs, which are quite similar To the already existing Carpets. They can also drop regular Bones, Bear Meat which can be cooked and Animal Fat, which is used to create Pemmicans. There are 4 species of Giant Clams, which can be found on the seafloor of some biomes. They’re quite big, and can be collected by right clicking them with a Shovel, although it might take a few attempts. If you want to place them down as a decoration for an Aquarium type setup, you can do so by placing them on the ground. Or you can just kill them Instead, where they might drop Pearls or Giant Pearls. These can be turned into some new Blocks, or sold to Fisherman Villagers. When it comes to Snakes, there are 17 different species, which mostly vary in size and color. They can be found in non-cold Biomes. You can pick Snakes up by right clicking them, And place them down again in enclosures. Some species are venomous, and they’re mostly passive, but if you step on them, or any other mob does, they’ll attack instead. Next up is the Softshell Turtle, which there are 7 species of. Biomes wise, you can find Them spawning in mostly tropical places, as well as Rivers and Swamps. Like Snakes, you can right click to pick them up with an empty hand. During the afternoon, you can find them basking in the sun, though you can also find them swimming in water and looking for fish To hunt for food. If you decide to kill a Softshell Turtle, they’ll drop Raw Turtle Meat which can be cooked. It can also be used in an ingredient to create Turtle Soup and Pemmicans. My least favorite creature is the Tarantula, which there are 8 different species of, and They can be picked up by right clicking them. The Tarantulas are extremely territorial, and the species will constantly fight each other to death, and they can only co-exist together if they are of the same species. Tarantulas will occasionally lay eggs, which You can place on the ground to spawn a baby. You can even pick Tarantulas up in a Glass Bottle, and when killed, they’ll drop String. One of the first new Ocean mobs is the Shark, which there are 10 species of. These include The likes of Great Whites, Bull Sharks and Tiger Sharks. You’ll find them swimming in the open ocean, but a few species will stick to the bottom of the seafloor. If you’re going for a swim, you’ll mostly be safe, except for when Sharks sense something wounded, And they’ll choose to hunt instead. Arowana are a new type of fish. You can find them spawning on bodies of water specifically in Jungles and Swamps. These fish are unique, as you can watch them jump out of the water from time to time. They can be picked up with Buckets to transport them, and they’ll also lay eggs which can be placed in water to hatch babies. There are 6 different species, two of which are rare. They’ll drop Tropical Fish when killed. The next fish is the Trevally, which can be found in any Ocean Biomes that aren’t cold. There are 5 species, and are mostly for decoration and ambience. Though you can still pick them them up with Buckets, and harvest them for Raw Fish. The final fish is the Ocean Sunfish, with there being 2 different species, and will Swim on its side. They spawn in deeper Oceans, but you’ll find them swimming closer to the surface. They’re slow and don’t offer any threat to the player, except when you’re in a Boat as it can cause it to break. Killing an Ocean Sunfish gives quite a few raw fish each time. A larger aquatic creature is the Hippo, and the developer states that it’s the most dangerous. There’s only one type, and you can find them spawning in Swamps and Savannas, where they’ll roam in herds of 2 to 6 individuals. If a Hippo is on land, then it’s mostly Peaceful, and you can get close without being attacked as long as you don’t harm them. But if a Hippo is in water, then they’ll be very territorial, and will attack as soon as you get close. When you kill them, they’ll drop Hippo Meat, Bones and Animal Fat. There are 7 species of Big Cat, which includes Leopards, Jaguars, Lions and Tigers and they’ll be spread throughout different biomes. You’ll need to be cautious around Big Cats, as when they’re hungry, they’ll actively hunt you. Although this should be a rare occurrence. They’ll also become aggressive if you get to close to any Cubs. If you can kill Big Cats, then they’ll drop Bones, as well as Fur which can be turned into Rugs, similar to Bears. One of the newer additions to the mod is the Giant Salamander, with there being 3 different Species. If they get close to smaller creatures, then they can swallow them whole. They don’t move around much due to their laziness, but you can find them in water near mountains. They’ll ignore the player, and you can transport them in Buckets. The final creature included with Untamed Wilds is the Aardvark. These are relatively small creatures which can be found in Savanna Biomes during the night, as they’re nocturnal. They’ll explore and look for food, and occasionally find the Aardvark Cucumber, which you can Eat too. They drop items like Bones, Animal Fat and even Rabbit Hide, which you can’t usually obtain in the Savanna. Outside of the creatures, some changes are made to world generation, as you’ll find new plants spawning throughout your world. There’s the Common Reed, which can be turned Into Sticks. There’s Temperate Bushes and Elephant Ears which all spruce up your world a bit too. You’ll also find Burrows, which is where a lot of creatures live, and they can be destroyed, but it’s probably a better idea to leave them. A new block is the Cage Trap, which is useful for catching mobs that you might be afraid of, or ones which might attack if you get too close. It can be crafted from 3 Planks, 4 Iron Bars and a Trapdoor. When a mob touches the cage, it will be trapped inside, and can Be released by either right clicking it, or with a Redstone signal. I’ve noticed that this also works on Minecrafts vanilla mobs too. Untamed Wilds also has a taming mechanic, which only works on baby versions of animals. By feeding a creature it’s favorite food, such as Raw Beef to a Tiger Cub, it will become tamed, similar to a Wolf. It isn’t until the baby is fully grown that it will be able to follow commands like Sit, Follow and Wander. That’s about everything I can talk about when it comes to this mod. It’s similar to Alex Mobs, and can run alongside it. The developer is also still updating it, so I’m sure we’ll see more soon.
