Utoxin – Modded Minecraft SSP – Episode 8: Spell Crafting Altar

Thank you good morning everyone my name is utoxan and this is another episode of you toxin plays Minecraft and we are playing on the challenge pack created for me by charmcork and today um as per my brother’s request and whatnot I’m going to do my best to ignore all

These things that I want to go do um I need to focus on getting better equipped getting some spells um and seeing if there’s any like ranged weapons or whatnot that I can get access to um let’s see charm uh trolled me by saying that guns were allowed but I’ve looked through and

There’s like only a couple things let me double check that I’m not in sheet mode I’m in recipe mode okay um I mean there’s this gun there’s that gun but these are like Quest items only you just you have to find them uh the poison blow gun is Quest only so

There’s no guns um so that’s not an option um I could make a really good bow I suppose um oh that’s right I have Logistics pipes um that distracted me for a second um and if I went with like a a short bow but I need the patterns to

Be able to do that so I think my best bet is really to get going with the spells to get going with ours Magicka um and I lost my book so I’m gonna have to make another one it’s in my gravestone over there I’m sure um let’s see hmm

I don’t know that I have what I need here let’s grab some boots um let’s cook up some food before I forget let’s make some bread um yeah let’s do that uh crafting right there yeah do that make some bread I have anything in these furnaces already nope okay

Do I have any iron that needs cooked up I do no that’s copper that’s iron um yeah I suppose it’s a little bit of a waste but I need the metal so let’s get that cooked up um quip those there we go it’s not much but it’s better than nothing

And then I need to go find some animals let me get the sword give me give me dick lag and there we go all right so I’m going to go round up like some leather if I can find any I can find a cow to kill somewhere and whatnot and

I’ll be back with you guys in just a minute all right so let me give you guys a bit of an update um I managed to get some leather finally um I found the only group of cows on the island killed two of them uh and there goes my nose trying to itch

Now I’ve discovered that none of my sugar cane has grown yet so I’m trying to find some more sugar cane so I can make the paper I need to make a book um earlier something kind of strange happened um I basically explored all night I never saw a single hostile mob um

But uh I was running around and there was a creeper that looked like it was probably underground or something on my mini map and fun rendering glitch um and but I heard an explosion and I got some kind of Entry unlocked in my Arcane compendium but I don’t know what

That entry was because I don’t have access to my Arcane compendium right now um yeah I don’t want to get too close here because they’ll start coming out after me yeah hello cows I need to like actually I’ve got some wheat Ley all right we’re gonna do this I’m going

To uh off camera here I’m going to quickly build a little pen hopefully catch a couple of these cows you know at least catch one of them uh no no never mind I won’t bother it’s I need to get some paper I need to stop getting distracted as my brother said I

Need to stop squirreling um where is some sugar cane anyway I’ll be back with you guys once I’ve found some sugar cane hopefully I was hoping to be making more progress than this anyway back in a minute aha I just figured out what I heard um you know I mentioned I heard that

Strange explosion at night and I couldn’t figure out what it was I just stumbled across this a moonstone Landing um I don’t have a good pic with me right now so I’m going to add a waypoint um moonstone because this stuff is very useful so there we go

That’s what I heard all right and I did find some uh sugar cane I also noticed something notice what it says on the sugar canes crop goes grows best in Jungle and swamp So Hunger overhaul messed with sugar cane thanks hunger overhaul um ooh uh let’s get rid of the bowl

Hmm iron gravel I should get this um but yeah apparently hunger overhaul messed with that too so I’ve got a I think I’ve got a swamp near my new base so I might relocate my sugar cane Farm sorry about that my nose likes to itch at the worst possible moments

And it doesn’t matter how long I wait or when I do my recording it always ends up itching while I’m in the middle of talking yeah is that more iron up there yes I’ll take it okay so I am just making my way back over the top of the hill here um

We’ve got what we needed to make the new Arcane compendium so we’re gonna do that um then after that how long do we have up wait we barely done anything at this episode I think it’s hard to keep track of time when I keep having to cut

Um but I think we’ve still got plenty of time left so let’s see let’s drop some stuff in chests here that goes in there that can go in there um that goes in there oh we’ve got blocks of coal nice um what blocky things go in here so there we go

And non-blocky things go in here let’s see I need those let’s put all these various bits of food I found some clay and grabbed it um let’s see I need the wood let’s go ahead um I’m gonna need no no wait that’s enough sticks I only need the one set of

To do this then I need three of this like so and like so all right and oh should put those on there we go as I recall if you look at my map there is what looks like a little pool of essence yeah right here oh how handy achievement kit flower child oh

I didn’t realize there was an achievement for that so let’s make my new Arcane compendium wow boy it goes a lot quicker when there’s that much water nearby um hello there we are so that new entry we unlocked was Moonstone meteors always falls within 32 blocks of a

Player only ever fall on a biomes cover block yada yada yada um there we go okay so now on to the real meat of this episode um after I go check on my crops because I want to see how we’re doing yep um earlier off camera my coal crop had

Grown all the way so I broke it and replanted we’ve got one coalescence now um and one nature Essence I think is what else dropped from it um so hopefully before too long we can uh make our next magical crop I need to eat oh wow no no no no no no

There we go all right so our next project is um oh I need to make an inscription table let’s see what do I do to make an inscription table let’s see I need some spell parchment a feather and a torch and then like that um spell parchment I’m going to need paper

And then I’m going to need is it sticks yes okay so like so do I have a feather if not there’s lots of chickens around I do not appear to have a feather so let’s go find a chicken I think the nearest one is right over here hello

That’s not a chicken that’s a sheep um those are probably sheep as well then let’s see where have I seen all the chickens I know there’s a lot of chickens around um I see lots of horsies um where in the world are the chickens they saw pigs oh camera I heard you

Oh do I have chickens turned off on my radar I think I do because there were so many of them uh I heard him there he there’s a chicken there we go got some feathers turmer root and for those who don’t know I’m gathering that tarma route because it’s

Actually kind of rare and hard to spot and it’s very useful for some stuff in ours Magica so whenever I see it I try and grab it because it’s just World Gym and there’s no way to grow it okay so I’ve got the feathers I need to

Make some torches if I don’t have any I’ve got torches put this armor route away right um wood wood let’s grab this stuff that so there there and there inscription table nice um do I have a pic I don’t have a pick that can be remedied there we go

All right let’s uh dig this out a little more okay and yeah they got that as well let’s place my inscription table down there we go okay so there’s my inscription table now has it told me how to build structures crafting altar this is what we need to build

Um it’s going to be a little difficult so if I can build it from bricks that gets me plus two effects that’s nice um coal blocks I could do coal blocks for these so let me get plus four effects yeah then I need um let’s see um does it tell me what the

I think it’s just crafting altar yeah crafting altar okay I just need some vintium dust and some Stone foreign tium dust comes from smelting ventium ore so let’s go ahead and smelt up eight of it and in there then I should just smelt up a smooth Stone as well

Actually I should smelt up a lot more than that of smooth Stone how much stone do I have in here there we go let’s melt up a whole stack um which means I need more coal let’s throw that in there and as soon as I’ve got a smooth Stone

Unless I have some over here no okay I do have a little brick already though that’s good pull blocks grab that and smooth stone ventium dust gets me a crafting altar I also need the magic wall okay how do I make magic wall uh two ventium dust around a smooth Stone

I I said okay there we go and that will get me plenty of magic wall stuff looks amazing so I’ll probably use it for other things um I need to sleep through the night and then I need to build my crafting altar somewhere where do I want to build it

Actually I just had a thought I’ve seen a lot of Witchwood trees around and did I ever pick up got five Witchwood logs can I build this out of which wood I’m trying to remember which would yes hmm I’ll build a brick for now I’m cooking up all that

Where do I want to build my crafting altar probably somewhere outside because I want to build a Nexus next to it how about I level this area here and just build it here that works all right well I’m going to tear down this area uh so I can build my crafting

Altar here I’ll be back with you guys as soon as that’s done and we will get this thing built um it’s been a while since I built one so it’s gonna be a little bit rough but we’ll manage in just a minute okay so I cleared a space over there for it

And then I was waiting for the bricks to uh kit you know the stone to get cooked up so I can make bricks and I realized I have a gigantic Witchwood tree right here this will provide more than enough wood let me get up there so I’m gonna just chop this thing down

Um at least chop down some of it hopefully get a sapling although there’s enough witchwoods around that if I don’t get a sapling it’s not the end of the world um go ah there’s some more um oh there’s one but yeah I’m gonna get this all chopped

Down I think that might be it yeah I think I think that was the last log appears to all be breaking down anyway so let’s get down grab any logs that fell yep there we go there’s a couple so that’s 20 logs that should be plenty because that’s 80 planks and that’s what

I need is the planks plus I’ve got a few back home oh now there’s some right there okay 25 yep all right let’s go get this thing built I have everything I should need um and then that’ll probably be about it for this episode once we get this built

And then next episode we will craft our first spell and uh see about starting to get some levels so let me make a bunch of this stuff I assume yes which would stairs I’m going to need I think two sets maybe three sets of stairs total okay then I need

The coal blocks the magic walls the crafting altar uh I’m going to need a lectern oop if I can spell which is okay like so um I should have Yep they’re on me and there like that and a lever although I don’t really need the lever yet but I will soon

So I might as well have it on there okay in fact actually it might be required for the crafting of it what time is it do we need to sleep through the night we need to sleep through the night we’ll build this in the morning foreign okay that stone was basically done

Cooking that’s okay come on there we go oh good night’s sleep all right which wood planks like so um oh but I forgot the center here needs to be a coal block okay okay cool block goes there in the center um then let’s see next up

Is that five yeah that’s five by five so then I need pillars of three three like so um which way do I want to orient this I think I want to orient it like so foreign okay there’s those pillars um yeah oh wait the oh then the coal block

Goes on top of that okay and then there are stairs here here here and here um magic wall goes between these like that let me get a pillow ring block out so I can get up on top of this okay whole blocks go on the four corners okay then steps go here here

And here I almost made that jump sideways like that and place this like so no of course not I know what we’ll do let’s see we need blocks here and here I’ll put a temporary block there so that I can do that then boom boom boom then this gets replaced

With a crafting altar like that um lectern goes here and lever goes here okay new entry unlocked that’s a good sign I think I did it um back I don’t know what I might have unlocked I didn’t check everything earlier so it’s hard to say um
