Hey hey there are at least how’s it goin it’s me your guy waddles in would you take a look at the calendar it is yet again Wednesday we have done it which means it’s time for another snapshot showcase video this morning on Wednesday April 22nd 2020 the 20 W 17 a snapshot

Released this snapshot is actually a smaller snapshot we’re gonna talk about what that may mean in today’s video and of course as always as usual we will be breaking down everything new and everything that has been changed in this snapshot if you enjoy this video let me

Twenty w17 a snapshot is actually the first small snapshot in a while in this week’s snapshot we have the change to the name of something we have the change to the generation of something we have changes to loot tables of things wall changes smithing table changes and then plenty of technical changes let’s

Actually go ahead and start with our wall changes this week so in case you weren’t aware the nether update is making big moves to walls take a look at these walls right here this is beautiful this is something that has never been possible before now this isn’t new in

This snapshot walls have been behaving like this for a while the thing that has been changed in this snapshot is how Wall Street certain things so take a look at this pressure plate if we put a pressure plate right here walls will again make this little pillar and then

The banner the same deal over here we get a pillar now I went ahead and do a little bit of testing and these things right here are things that will all create pillars now this doesn’t mean that these are the only things that will create the little pillars on the walls

But these are just some of the things these things over here will not create pillars interestingly if we were to place a block right above a wall a pillar will not be formed would you take a look at that that is that new wall behavior right there it’s beautiful I

Love this mechanic’s walls are actually going to be usable in 1.16 which huge this is just this just amazing take a look at the brand new soul lantern and soul torch that’s right – Brad did you think okay wait these aren’t actually new we just have a new name the names

Now flow a whole lot better which is good previously the lantern was called the soul fire Lantern now it’s just a so Lantern so fire torch it gets converted over to the soul torch it flows a soul so much better which is great for somebody like me who already struggles

When talking yeah the names are shorter nothing else has changed maybe the biggest change in the snapshot can actually be found not inside of a game but inside of the create new world menu so take a look at the create new world menu right off the bat you can notice a

Few different things the difficulty toggle was never on this menu before you can now set your games difficulty your worlds difficulty before actually diving in so if you want that true Hard difficulty experience and no beginning unnormal well you can set it right here the really cool change is

This toggle right here game rules now this is going to be a little bit more useful for some sort of a customized survival or just creative mode but you can actually scroll through this menu and change your game rules without the need of a command which is amazing look

At those if you don’t like rights you just turn them off right here rates are never going to be a thing we can change the entity crabbing amount right here this is so a much easier to use than the commands now as somebody who understands the commands not a big deal

It’s just kind of a nice quality of life change but if you’ve always been confused by commands then this menu is going to be the menu for you if you don’t want to drown you can go ahead and turn this one off if you want regen

Turned off well turn this one off if you want keep inventory on then turn this one on yeah they’re all pretty self-explanatory scroll through this menu check it out it’s amazing like I’ve been saying with some of the other changes in the nether update so far why wasn’t this a thing

Before this is really really big so if you’re trying to check this out for yourself create a new world then go into the game rules toggle right there and boom you’ll be able to find it everything else looks to be exactly the same oh boy if you like emojis then this

Is the change for you because minecraft text now has full unicode support now if I’m understanding everything correctly yeah that means emojis that’s right gamers but if I’m not understanding everything correctly it does not mean emojis I’m honestly I’m not too sure I couldn’t paste like the

Fire emoji here that’s what I was thinking about doing so you’ll have to just settle for these other Unicode symbols noise and 20 W 16 a ruined portals were added into the game in 20 W 17 a this snapshot this spawn rate of ruined portals has been decreased so

Basically the structures will be a little bit less common overall that’s probably going to be a good thing even though these portals aren’t really really cool they were very common in the last snapshot which makes things a little bit less special I mean take a look at shipwrecks before this update

They’re everywhere right so it’s not even a cool site long story short ruin portals are a little bit less common now in an earlier another up a snapshot the smithing table received a use in this snapshot the smithing table received a facelift because take a look at this beautiful UI

Right here this is about the best UI that I could ask for inside of a smithing table so as a little bit of a refresher take your diamond tool take another right ain’t get throw it in there boom we just upgraded that time and helmet into another right helmet

This is awesome looking and it was great looking while we were doing the process 10 out of 10 would do it again because this hammer that hammer alone is amazing minecraft kind of needs hammers doesn’t it I mean I don’t know what they would be used for if you saw my video from

Yesterday elites nice if you didn’t see it well don’t bother watching it now okay well actually you should still watch it but bash and loot has been changed in this snapshot so a lot of the stuff that I was talking about in that video it might be completely different

Now so taking a look at these loot chests right here I think maybe it seems like there are more arrows inside of here maybe I’m not too sure I haven’t had the chance to dive into the loot tables quite yet but yeah and this snapshot bash and LU tables have been

Rebalanced and reworked everything else to my knowledge about the bastion should be exactly the same as it was before these structures are still gigantic evil and really really cool-looking ah man I really want to turn one of these into a survival base that would be that would be amazing

Another menu change coming up next if you have 0 worlds and you press single-player you’ll be taken to the create a world screen I’m not going to delete all my world so I can show you guys that you’re just gonna have to trust me and now technical changes let’s start off the technical

Changes by checking out the brand new setting within the menus if we go into the video settings right here we now have this entity distance toggle this entity distance scale or toggle was added in the snapshot with this toggle you can adjust your entity distance by default it’ll be set to 100% I’m

Assuming if you want better performance you lower it if you want worse performance or you have a beefy computer you can handle it you raise it to be 100% honest I’m a little bit confused about this toggle still so over there is a minecart that’s an entity if we back

Up you know it disappears it’s out of render distance but if we go ahead and check out they add 2d distance toggle I have raised it em even more and it will still disappear so I’m not 100% sure here what the style does but it is new maybe somebody more technical can

In this snapshot as you can see that code mean that the nether update is very very close now doesn’t mean that for certain absolutely not you never know there could be more cool features on the way I mean for example back when 1.14 it was in the snapshots and the snapshot

Seems to switch over to a technical mode and then they jumped back to adding features a 1.14 was kind of crazy so is the nether update far away well no I wouldn’t say the nether update is very far away at this point but at the same time I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily
