What happened to Slamacow? (The Minecraft Animation Legend)

So what happened to Slamacow? For those of you who don’t know, Slamacow is a popular Minecraft YouTuber who uploads animations to his millions of subscribers on YouTube. Slamacow is the pinnacle of Minecraft animation, with each animation constantly pushing the boundaries in the Minecraft animation space.

He is constantly at the forefront of the Minecraft animation scene and is a well renowned pioneer in the Minecraft animation sphere. Okay. Okay. I think you get my point. Slamacow was and still is an incredibly popular and prolific Minecraft animator and he is a big part of everyone’s childhood

Even including mine. So, why did he quit YouTube when he was at the top of his game, abandoning his 2.7 million subscriber YouTube channel. Well, I have all the answers to that and more. My name is ChronoFury and today I will be diving deep and investigating what happened to Slamacow and why he

Understand why he left, we need to understand more background to his channel in order to give more context to his disappearance. Slamacow started his YouTube channel in October 21, 2011. His first animation went up on YouTube just a day later and he experienced instant success.

The first few animations that he uploaded garnered millions of views and it was all uphill from there. One of his most iconic animations is an animated Minecraft music video titled Cube Land featuring Laura Shigihara which has over 31 million views

Just remember the name Laura Shigihara for now guys, she is really important in the later part of this story. Another popular video of his and my personal favorite, titled From the Ground Up also featured Laura Shigihara on vocals and was yet another massive success accumulating over 21 million views.

Slamacow’s upload frequency then begin to decline in 2015, after his Skeleton Encounter video. His next video was only published 2 years later and that video became the last video he has uploaded to his channel. It’s been well over three years now since his last upload. So, what happened? Normally, in order to find

Out what happened to any YouTuber, you would look at the YouTuber’s social media. But in Slamacow’s case it’s a bit difficult because Slamacow has no social media at all and he has deleted all his accounts. He has even went ahead and disabled the comments on all his videos

As a lot of those comments were just asking for him to return to YouTube and even using the Wayback Machine, I’m unable to find anything of interest from his now deleted Twitter account. But that being said, he actually left a lot of clues as to what he has been up to.

You just have to know where to look. The most obvious clues were actually in the video description hidden in plain sight. His parents’ property, he also talked about how he has been busy with projects outside of the channel including school. In the description of the Skeleton Encounter video, Slamacow talked about how the tragic death of a family member impacted his ability to animate. He also talked about how

He is doing sub-contract animation work with a small company which does explain why he has been neglecting YouTube. So, real life issues compounded with doing freelance animation work. It seems that these are part of the reasons as to why he stopped uploading. However, there is way more to this than meets the eye.

Despite his inactivity with regards to uploads, Slamacow has been really active in the community tab of his YouTube channel. Most of his posts however, are just simply sharing videos and pictures and it’s not quite relevant to this story. However,

One important thing to note is this post which he had posted about a year ago. It’s a real-life photo of Slamacow and Laura Shigihara. Yes – that Laura Shigihara from those popular Minecraft music videos on his channel. They apparently dated and things between

Them went well. I mean just look at these photos they seem happy together. In the post though, he also talked about a series called Farmer in the Sky and now if you head over to Laura’s channel, you can find the Farmer in the Sky series which Slamacow had apparently

Animated and worked on it. In fact, Episode 2 of the series was just uploaded a few months ago. So, there you have it. It seems that Slamacow has been busy working on this non-Minecraft animated series that is being published on his girlfriend’s channel. Their relationship

Still seems to be going well given that Slamacow had shared a video from Laura’s channel approximately two months ago. So, he didn’t exactly leave per se, he just shifted his focus to his relationship with Laura and is now working on a non-Minecraft animated series for her channel and even if Slamacow never returns

To making Minecraft animations again, which is probably the case right, he has still made a significant mark as a YouTuber and he has inspired the next generation of Minecraft animators. So, I think he leaves behind him a very good legacy. Anyway guys, that’s pretty much it for
