Minecraft 1.20 is releasing in less than 24 hours but what’s actually inside the update that we haven’t already seen in snapshots or betas the answer is a surprising amount it might just surprise you but also the answer as to when the update’s coming out it’s not just the Release date because as it turns out June 7th is not specific enough most forms of media do a midnight release whereas the clock strikes midnight you can download or play your movie or game but when it comes to Minecraft they do not do that and instead it varies based On where in the world you are so when can you download Minecraft 1.20 allow me to answer today by the way you can subscribe to the channel if you want to see more Minecraft news including stuff like the new Minecraft update that’s coming out less than a month from now With brand new features as well as if you want to see me do stuff like beat Minecraft in a single volume world that’s exclusively Cherry but for right now I want to explain why I haven’t just given a simple time as the answer to when 1.20 is coming out and it’s because It actually depends on where you are in the world if you think about it a midnight release is actually somewhere different based on where in the world you are because men night in New Zealand is the equivalent of midday in the UK which is the equivalent of 4 am on the West coast of America this means that if Minecraft wants to release something at midnight it’s really easy to do but instead they go for a synchronized Global release which means that it actually releases at the exact same moment worldwide but it releases at a different time this means that fun fact It actually won’t release on the 7th of June for New Zealand this is because New Zealand is so far to the East and therefore ahead of the rest of the world time wise that they don’t even show up on most Maps it’s crazy you can look at So many Maps out there and you just won’t find any New Zealand on it which is a a real big shame in my opinion uh but what I also think is uh weird is that Minecraft itself has this little world icon and on there you won’t see New Zealand either however you will see I can kind of excuse this one because it’s a block however you might be wondering where in the rest of the world you know the rest of this very very high resolution world uh Minecraft will be coming out with its new update and the Answer to that entirely depends on when there are Minecraft employees ready to launch an update so when when these Minecraft employers were based in Scotland 4J Studios for Minecraft console edition this was based on Scottish or British time GMT in the middle of the world however now the biggest Minecraft development office is In Washington state the United States of America which means it’s West Coast time zones which means it’s very far behind the rest of the world the opposite of New Zealand if you will and this means that the earliest they get into office if we say they get in there at 8am ready To release an update the earliest it can launch in the UK is 4pm which means the earliest it can launch in New Zealand is 4 am on the next day so uh the answer to the question of when is the update releasing it doesn’t have a specific Fixed time but it is usually somewhere in the first two hours of a working day in Redmond which if you don’t know is somewhere around eight to ten the reason it varies so much is because they’re not just launching one Minecraft update they’re launching two Minecraft updates Uh but instead of just releasing Java and Bedrock actually the Bedrock version is split into lots of different systems where every single app store has been spending the last couple of weeks approving this making sure that it can go out whenever Minecraft chooses and so that means that the actual exact release Time is when these people say so which is sometime after Minecraft hits the button so some of these updates will launch just before uh you know 9am just before 5 PM UK time and some of them will launch to start with this means we can’t say an exact release time I can’t Tell you it’s 5 12 p.m for example but what I can say is roughly 5 PM UK time is when you can get your hands on the Minecraft update unless something drastically goes wrong or maybe they get something done early or you know whatever else happens but this is when The last major updates have released 5 PM in the UK which is the equivalent of a at 9am on the west coast of America which is the equivalent of midday if you’re on the east coast of America which is the equivalent of 6 PM if you live in Mainland Europe which is the Equivalent of at this point you should just Google your own time zone because you’re more likely to know that than I am uh that the world is split into lots of them North Korea has their own for fun reasons and so where in the world you are really does depend on when you Get this Minecraft update and so now we’ve answered that key question let’s dive into the uh the more important one which is why do you even care I think there are some people who get really burned out on an update before it even comes out especially if you’re the sort Of person to mostly you know enjoy it through Minecraft content you might have been seeing people play Minecraft 1.20 for months now so what is there coming out tomorrow that we haven’t already seen so I’m saying this from a Bedrock perspective on the Java Edition the latest snapshots and pre-releases and Release candidates genuinely just are the finished update there is next to nothing that will change between those and the finished product you can basically play the Java version and it’s the same as the full thing however on the Bedrock Edition they don’t reveal a few things until the main updates out One of these is the achievements they did say they added achievements but you can’t actually enjoy them because that’s not how Bedrock previews work so the achievements will be available for the first time on every Bedrock platform if you have Bedrock on switch and on Xbox And on a phone that’s three sets of brand new achievements fun fact but also the main screen Panorama this is not shown until the main update this is because the Minecraft preview uses its fun beta background and logo and stuff um if there are any new Splash text These sometimes are added at the end release and then the final thing they won’t add into the betas and previews are anything that relates to DLC emotes or you know kind of stuff like that this is one of those things that’s a mystery they could theoretically put these in Betas in previews it’s just that they don’t do it presumably because they don’t want any uproar which is crazy to me that they know there would be an uproar if they uh you know push the moats on people too much but they don’t think there’d be an uproar if they Remove giant features from the Bedrock Edition under the geyser parody okay I know this is a separate issue for a separate video you didn’t come here to hear my thoughts on horses and boats but I do think this is a really serious issue that hopefully uh we see a dress But anyway the important thing regarding uh when is 1.20 coming out is that depends but it’s a broad time frame uh it can be late at the switch and the important thing regarding what are you going to see in this update that you couldn’t already see uh mostly comes Down to the sorts of uh you know some things that are hard to add to previews because it is a separate game and some things which they wait till the last minute to reveal I wouldn’t expect any huge things like that but then it’s also worth mentioning that there are Sometimes secret features in the update that are only found out after discovery these aren’t usually intentional Minecraft Bedrock explicitly doesn’t want to make these but it’s fun that they sometimes exist anyway and so now we’ve gone over the two most important things the third pillar of this video is What are you going to do first when 1.20 releases this is my question for everyone because it’s one I’m really curious about I’m excited about this you can probably work out but I want to know what your thoughts are on it are because my first things I’m going to do is I Want to get that new silence trim and I want to find and destroy a Cherry Grove biome in fact I actually am I’ve got a Minecraft developer to join me on Thursday which is very very soon you might know it’s today if you’re in some Parts of the world and so uh yeah I’ve actually although not actually because just like the Minecraft release dates my streams have a set time that just varies based on way around the world so somewhere in the middle of the day in the morning I guess if you’re in New Zealand you you’ll be able to watch me actually hang out and play Minecraft with a Minecraft developer I’m gonna see if I can convince him to destroy the Cherry Grove band with me we’ll we’ll see if we can get that launch but for now uh just know that I’ve got some fun Things planned because obviously as a Minecraft Youtuber who covers Minecraft updates having a Minecraft update something that is very exciting and so I guess I’ll have to gather all the 1.20 features but speaking of 1.20 features this video is not one of them and so I’m Going to leave you now so you can learn more about those if you choose to thank you very much for watching and I look forward to seeing you for my launch stream in a very short amount of time goodbye or not I don’t know Video Information
