If you wanted to break 9 million blocks of obsidian in minecraft it would take 231 days of constant mining for a normal person this is pure insanity but for players on the oldest anarchy server in minecraft it was seen as a challenge the skies above the server have been Littered with obsidian graffiti over the past few years to the point that players consider them annoying to look at they look cool from far away but up close they can be an eyesore and they cover much of the terrain below in darkness chances are you’ve already seen some of These before spawn has effectively become a giant advertising space for different factions well one group made it their goal to eliminate and sabotage as many of these structures as possible they saw it as cleaning up the digital environment in a weird way but while players joined forces to clean up the Skies little did they know that one of the biggest obsidian structures of all was secretly being planned this war of obsidian continues to get more absurd so today we’ll take a look at the history of what players are calling operation vacuum a movement to clean up the skies Of 2v2t we’ll examine the methods they used the drama that unfolded along the way and how a secret plot was uncovered that threatened the very existence of the movement never underestimate 2b2t players before we get started i’d like to thank honey for sponsoring to honey for sponsoring today’s video so who would be crazy enough to try and get rid of the obsidian structures floating over 2b2t Well it all started with two players named ufflux and dino like many others the two had grown tired of looking up at the sky and seeing massive amounts of obsidian blocking out the sun in some cases ruins that were over 10 years old were being covered in complete darkness The reason so many of these were created was the illusion of permanence by using millions of blocks of obsidian to build something it discourages griefing since mining all of it would be incredibly time consuming as i mentioned earlier it would take a single person 231 days to my 9 million obsidian so Most groups think that their creations are permanent griefers eventually give up trying to put a dent in these things but oof plucks had a different idea instead of mining all the obsidian manually with a single account what if minecraft was configured so that six accounts could all be controlled by a single person Each one would be running baritone a minecraft mod which allows in-game actions to be automated with multiple players working together they could wipe obsidian off the map a lot faster than their original projections one of who plucks his friends a player named decker was able to program everything to work Properly so together they formed operation vacuum their goal was to break millions of these obsidian blocks to discourage others from continuing the practice and proving that nothing on 2v2t is truly permanent they recruited over 20 players that wanted to accomplish the same goal thousands of shulkers were brought in Containing the enchanted pickaxes that would be necessary for the operation they would start with the smaller structures near spawn and work their way out but early on they noticed that some of the accounts running baritone were experiencing a strange glitch instead of mining all of the obsidian single blocks Of it were being left behind in a grid pattern oof plucks contacted the developer of baritone leisure to try and fix the problem but someone pointed out that this glitch was actually a blessing in disguise these rows of leftover obsidian were actually too small to be seen from above which meant the Structures were effectively erased from mapping software it also saved time and resources since less obsidian was being mined so whenever the bots would end up doing this they were allowed to continue the group did their best to erase as much hobby as possible and if a structure was simply too large it was Sabotaged to the point it was no longer recognizable after removing many of the players signatures near spawn they moved on to some of the larger structures such as the giant rick astley and the future client logo eventually the giant wu which was one of the more famous obsidian structures was severely grieved On a personal note i’m glad they destroyed this one because now i don’t have to say it anymore one of the larger builds the imperial dragon proved to be quite a challenge instead of removing every single block from it they instead removed the dragon features such as the head tail and wings To make it unrecognizable this was one of the only times that the group actually placed obsidian in order to make potential repairs more challenging which i guess makes sense in a weird roundabout kind of way but the members were putting in serious hours to mine the obsidian even some of the less Active members had hundreds of thousands of blocks removed one notable player named paper robber used only a single account instead of multiple like the others and his statistics page was wild he would eventually remove one and a half million obsidian all by himself since many of the groups that had built These structures had become inactive over the years they weren’t around to defend them from griefers so operation vacuum meant little resistance and even if they did they simply blew up the obsidian stashes belonging to those groups preventing them from making repairs as the project continued the group Actually decided to spare several of the structures for example they left the portrait of v tuber usada pekura alone because it had originally been built as a parody of the other structures and since oof plucks had also helped to build it he didn’t want to betray his Old friend so it was left alone the masonic eclipse which to this day remains the largest of all the structures was left alone due to its sheer size just a small portion of this logo contains more obsidian than many of the others combined so griefing this one would require its own separate project At some point in the future but otherwise everything was running smoothly and structures continue to fall land that hadn’t seen daylight in years was finally able to get some sun but while all of this was happening little did the group know that they were about to face a major roadblock some of the Members of operation vacuum were insiding other groups and they uncovered a secret plot to create one of the largest obsidian structures ever built on 2b2t it was codenamed collective sky and it would be a spawn logo requiring a minimum of 30 million blocks of obsidian you can see from this blurry screenshot That this would have dwarfed every other build including the masonic eclipse construction on it had already started but it was in the very early stages they had made the mistake of keeping all of their obsidian at a single stash and after realizing this operation vacuum did not hesitate to strike the entire Stash was blown to smithereens with millions of duped obsidian blocks being destroyed in the process this effectively killed the project instantly it was a major victory after reaching a total of nine million obsidian mined out the group decided that they had made their statement that hobby structures were not truly Permanent and they formally ended the project with a celebration even if you dislike griefing you have to admit the sheer numbers these players put up are insane and no normal person would put themselves through this oof plucks managed to remove 3.6 million obsidian by himself with the others not far Behind what should have taken 231 days was accomplished in 22 not too shabby the group had done considerable damage to most of the obsidian builds with some either outright deleted or unrecognizable whether this will discourage others from continuing the obsidian trend is unknown but on a server like 2b2t anything could happen If you enjoyed today’s video make
