Why do these YouTubers all look the same there is a group of Minecraft youtubers who are making thousands of dollars each day by stealing and copying each other’s content and even if you’ve been playing Minecraft for over a decade odds are you’ve never heard of them this is Because unlike most other content these videos are aimed exclusively at kids so you probably aren’t the target audience but your seven-year-old nephew definitely is these channels turn content creation into an assembly line pumping out over 20 minutes of content every single day so why do these channels all look the same and what’s Really going on here perhaps no two channels better exemplify this trend than the rise of cash and Nico these are two of the fastest growing channels in Minecraft history and have made their owners incredibly wealthy they often record their videos together and then post them separately let’s first look at Cash in the roughly six months since cash started his channel he has gone from zero subscribers to over 3 million subscribers in that time he has accumulated over 420 million views according to vidai Q gaming channels see an average of 1.40 cents per 1000 views which means that in about six months Cash has earned around 580 000 that’s over a million dollars a year but it doesn’t stop there Nico’s channel was also made about six months ago and it has earned about 1.5 million subscribers and 340 million views which means that Nico has earned around 475 000 in the past six months combined These two are making around two million dollars per year which you probably don’t know is that cash Nico had planned out this Venture in advance both of these people ran successful Minecraft channels with content aimed towards older Minecraft audiences Nico had close to a million subscribers on his not Nico Channel making primarily Bed Wars videos and if we check the date of the last video we see something curious Nico abandoned his first channel only eight days after starting his new kids Minecraft channel on October 2nd 2022 which means that he viewed the kids niche as so lucrative that it was worth Quitting a channel that was itself taking tens of thousands of dollars and had a fair bit of success cash also had a previous channel which was called fearful this channel had 240 000 subscribers and was also making pretty good money if we go through this channel we see the last few videos where Challenges in the style of Nico’s previous videos he also briefly tried to do this Google translating Minecraft Trend so cash and Nico both had extremely successful channels which were stemily abandoned out of nowhere around the exact same time and they both made brand new channels on the exact same day It surely can’t be a coincidence right let’s look at some of the motivation for making this type of content in the last few years there has been an explosion in Minecraft content aimed at kids you might be familiar with the channel amazing as far as most people know Mason Seemingly popped out of nowhere in December 2020 and have since gained a shocking 3 billion views Mason primarily features the antics of their two main characters JJ and Mikey and their content is almost exclusively for kids at 140 for 1000 views Mason has earned and over 4.2 million dollars but what You might not have known is that Mason didn’t come out of nowhere they actually had an older Japanese Channel which was made back in 2015. I’m not too familiar with Japanese YouTube but I’ve read anecdotes that this channel was very popular among Japanese kids this Japanese channel has over 6 billion Views which is almost as much as the population of the world according to a Reddit post on the amazing subreddit in 2021 it was the number one most viewed gaming channel in Japan it also features The Adventures of JJ and Mikey but in Japanese this is actually the original Version and then they dubbed these videos in English to reach new viewers if we check the wiki it shows that the Japanese Channel hit 1 million Subs in early 2020 and 2 million Subs in September 2021. these two channels show the potential this genre of kids videos have in drawing a massive audience However even before this there was another large creator making similar content known as aphmau aphmau has been making videos for a long time and was making Minecraft role play style videos however however they eventually stopped being successful and her content turned more into the amazing Nico and cash Style of content that is so popular now her story is quite impressive and we could dedicate a whole video to her Channel she was a large innovator in this space and many channels imitated her ideas and copied her thumbnails she saw crazy growth on her Channel around The same time that Mason was having their success the pandemic really pushed them to new heights where especially kids were home all day this created a huge amount of demand for Content deliberately made for kids it took five years for aphmau to build her fan base from 1 million subscribers to 5 million Subscribers and then only two more years to build it to 14 million her channel is now number 145 on the most viewed YouTube channels of all time with a staggering 16 billion views that puts her above Imagine Dragons dude perfect and other famous names given the size I’m sure you’ll want to hear our prediction for this Channel’s Revenue at 1.40 per thousand views aphmau would have made over 22 million dollars now that’s a lot of Bugattis given these staggering amounts of views and just how much money is involved here it’s no surprise the cash and Nico were inspired To make similar content now let’s get into the videos one thing is immediately clear when you watch these channels they all look the same everyone is making the same style of thumbnails same format and the same Trends and if we take a look at one of Cash’s most popular videos using Hacks to cheat in Minecraft hide and seek it has the same title and thumbnail as aphmau’s most popular video they aren’t the only ones check out this thumbnail and this one and this other one why do they all look the same if it’s not obvious already they’re all Pretty clearly scripted but this kind of content is very clearly appealing to Kit I imagine having multiple characters evolved helps them relate more to the scene and make it feel like their group of friends over the course of the past couple months people have seen this success and tons of other channels have Popped up trying to copy their style for example a YouTuber by the name of gevids TV has made only 12 videos in the span of two months and gained well over 100 000 subscribers and 15 million views except they go by GE and Bubbles there are several other YouTubers making these Kinds of videos with the same two main character format check out dogatv or Daga in Denny this channel ongs even copy the colors of cash and Eco so their thumbnails look pretty much identical they go by Roxy and alms here’s another one wudo and manga or how about this one Which features sunny and melon there’s literally dozens of these channels and they all look the exact same it’s like they weren’t even trying to hide it but there are actually some benefits to this scheme for one they can post a video for each character on their own channel so One recording can then be posted on two channels making two separate videos out of it some of these channels have added third and fourth characters for this reason not only are the thumbnails in format the same but these channels also use the same topics as well it’s not Uncommon to see pretty much the same video being made by all of these channels on the exact same topic it’s reminiscent of the 100 day trend within a few months there were a hundred other YouTubers making every variation of 100 days you can think of the result is that These topics get incredibly overused we can see the same thing with dreams Manheim series which was repeatedly copied by other YouTubers the lesson here is that when there is so much Financial incentive the millions of dollars are on the line then we shouldn’t be surprised when people copy As much as they can to achieve and what’s ironic is that most of these people are rewarded greatly for doing it I hope you all have enjoyed this video let me know if you’ve ever heard of this side of kids YouTube drop a like subscribe and we’ll see you in the next video Video Information

This video will cover the Cash & Nico-ification of Minecraft content. And what may have inspired them to make this style of videos. We will do this by covering creators such as Aphmau and Maizen who originally popularized the genre. Then we discuss some of the copycats who have sprung up after seeing the success of Cash and Nico. Some examples of which are Omz, Mongo, Wudo, GeVidsTV, and others. Watch the video to find out more!
