All right in today’s video I want to address something that’s been one of the most common messages I’ve gotten ever since I released this video about the monolith that took six years before a downloadable copy ever became available nearly every week or so someone sends me A tweet like this one that the blue accent me here it’s usually an enthusiastic tweet about how the world broke in what seems like a crazy and insane way and to be honest I can’t really blame them for sending me messages like this unless I was told Otherwise I would have no idea what the heck is going on here so that’s the mystery that I want to talk about today what exactly is going on with this Minecraft world that causes these chunk errors to occur and why do they happen well let’s go ahead and let’s launch right into it Alright let’s go through this step-by-step there are two events I’m going to cover in this video chunk errors which look like the tweet I mentioned earlier and chunk cliffs both are caused for distinctly different reasons but first up are chunk errors classic chunk errors can be seen when a Section of land 16 by 16 blocks or more looks completely different from the other terrain around it and I want to say this is not a natural occurrence through normal intended gameplay no minecraft seed in the world will ever cause these to occur ever the first and Most common way that chunk errors can occur is when you create a new world leave it at the default world name or something very specific and then after playing it the game crashes in some way that causes the level.dat file for that world to get deleted or become corrupted After this occurs if you create another world with the exact same file name all of the old chunk files that still exist will be reused for this new world but since the new world is going to have a new seed all of the new terrain will look much different causing what looks Like chunk errors another way that chunk errors can occur is something that I’ve covered in a video from nearly two years ago in this scenario if you try and save a Minecraft world while your hard drive is almost completely full minecraft is going to struggle and ultimately fail to Save the chunk files for your world causing chunk errors on an even more extreme level than before especially when you repeatedly try to save your world the most extreme examples of chunk errors is if a superflat world corrupt and you create a normal world type in its place or vice Versa in that case your terrain might look a little something like this and what I’ve explained is in every single reason that chunk errors might occur something else might happen within your system that causes some chunks to not save correctly or for chunk files to just get shifted around the main point I’m making here is that they cannot occur by just spawning a brand new world under a brand new name and no seed will ever cause this to occur all by itself so those errors which again are unintended and do not occur through normal gameplay now let’s go ahead and let’s cover chunk Cliffs which fundamentally are the same thing but these can occur and will occur through natural gameplay with pre-existing old world given the right circumstances in a nutshell these chunk cliffs can occur when you take an old Minecraft world and load it up in a certain new version of the game or you Take a newer map and you load it up in a compatible old version of the game to fully understand why chunk cliffs occur I’d highly recommend checking out my video titled why do minecraft seeds break between versions because I cover these chunk cliffs in great detail in That very video so yeah to end off this topic I’m going to stress one last point both chunk errors and chunk cliffs will never occur with a brand new world under a brand new file name which means if you send me a message saying hey at Venom Look at this world it’s all broken here’s the seed I’m not going to be able to generate it and have those chunk errors occur though I do want to say I’m not mad at anyone who sends me messages like this I mean they don’t know any Better and with good reason how are they supposed to know if no one has ever told them otherwise and that’s the reason that I made this video so I hope you all learned something today if you ever find a glitch or a bug like this that you can Replicate at will repeatedly feel free to toss me a message on twitter at twitter.com/zeromd ennum but anyways guys that just about does it for me for now if you enjoyed this video please leave a like on it because it would really help out myself the channel and The video quite a lot so I hope you all enjoyed my name is antvenom and i bid you all farewell thanks so much for watching Video Information
