To install the mod, head to the Weather, Storms, and Tornadoes page on CurseForge and find the files option near the top of the page. Scroll down and find your desired game version, and on the right side, click the three vertical dots and select “download file.” Save this file somewhere easily accessible to use in just a minute, and then do the same thing for the CoroUtil dependency mod so that everything works.
For installing onto your client, make sure you have Forge downloaded on your computer. Once that’s done, open up your Minecraft launcher and click on “installations” near the top. Find and click on the folder icon of your installed Forge profile, and in the newly opened window, find and enter the “mods” directory from the list. Once you’re there, drag and drop your downloaded file into this folder, and then return to the modded profile in the launcher and press play.
Before starting the server install, double-check your server to make sure you’re running a version of the game that matches the mod you downloaded. After that, stop the server and click on “FTP file access” near the top left, log in, and then find and enter the “mods” directory. Press upload in the top left corner, and then drag and drop your previously downloaded files into the upload area. Once they are 100% uploaded, you can use your server name at the top of the page to return to the main panel and restart the server.
After joining the server, players might immediately notice the weather differences in the clouds and the occasional gust of wind. But this will soon be amplified with randomized natural events that might occur. You’ll notice there are no longer default clouds in the world, and they’re converted into animated ones. These are an indicator of a tornado, storm, or anything else forming in the world. If you start to notice an increasing number of them forming a larger one, it’s a strong sign of a weather event approaching.
Once enough of these clouds are formed, a random storm might appear near you or other players. These events depend on the biome you’re currently in, such as hailstorms happening near snowy or regular plains. They involve large and hardened water particles with a noticeable sky difference and an increased number of lightning strikes. Luckily, this weather condition doesn’t harm players or the world around them, but the lightning strikes themselves can lead to destruction of your home, environment, or players if they’re struck.
Another event to encounter are sandstorms, which only occur in large desert biomes. Once a sandstorm happens, visibility is greatly reduced, with tons of particles flying around you. And the final event on our list is a snowstorm, which only happens in snowy-related biomes. This is a chaotic experience for any player, especially due to the low visibility and the constant bombardment of snow particles. There’s even an increased chance of lightning strikes, meaning fires and damage can happen too.

If the winds are increasing exponentially with a lot of clouds forming in the sky, expect a tornado. These take some time to appear, but they will quickly be noticed by nearby players. For example, it can start over water or land by condensing clouds in a particular spot with strong winds. After some time, you’ll see the tornado eye form and slowly become larger. Anything is possible with these natural events since blocks, mobs, and players are susceptible to its effects. If you manage to avoid the tornado, once you go outside, you will see the destructive power of it. There will be torn-down trees, broken blocks, and dead wildlife all around.
Instead of waiting around for a storm to arise in your world, you can also use commands with operator privileges, which gives you the ability to instantly spawn them. This list of commands is for the 1.8.2 beta version of the mod, and for the 1.12.2, you’re only going to focus on one command, which is “/weather2 storm create,” and then the storm that you want to spawn.
If you’re unhappy with how tornadoes or storms behave in your Minecraft server, then you can consider tweaking the mod’s configuration files. Head to the FTP file access and log in, and then go to “config” and “weather” to find your desired configuration file, and click on “edit” to the far right. Make any necessary changes and then click “save” and restart the server to apply the changes.

Now before we jump into the common issues, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and click that notification bell to stay up to date on all future videos. In cases where you’re unable to join the server, double-check that you’ve successfully selected the correct profile on the Minecraft launcher. Remember, this has to be Forge with all of the mods loaded inside. Make sure you’re also checking the same on the panel and that your mods were uploaded in the correct folder.
While being caught up in a tornado, players might get kicked from the server due to the intense weather conditions. This is a normal occurrence and is part of the mod’s mechanics. Just wait for the storm to pass, and you’ll be able to rejoin the server.
So there you have it, gamers! The Weather, Storms, and Tornadoes Minecraft mod is a great way to add more realism to your Minecraft server. With a variety of weather events and natural disasters, your gameplay experience will be taken to a whole new level. So go ahead and give it a try, and don’t forget to stay safe during those tornadoes!
