Foreign so Minecraft story mode season 2 turns 6 years old this year and it’s been over five years since the last episode of season 2 launched for everyone to enjoy however as many of you probably know that was seemingly the end of Minecraft story mode shortly after season 2 was Fully available Telltale went bankrupt causing both Minecraft story mode games to be delisted from online storefronts this crushed any hope of a potential third season this pretty much confirmed that season 3 was never going to happen at least not anytime soon because while Telltale is back Under New Management Creating new games and Reviving old series that they once called their own so is Minecraft story mode season 3 a possibility and the short answer is yeah kinda however because these games are so obscure it is very unlikely if you ask me at least but I honestly don’t know How any of these things work I’m just saying that in my humble opinion I just don’t think it’s very likely but let’s just bring up a what-if scenario if Minecraft story mode season 3 did happen then I think some things would need to be done first for one I think the first Two games need to be brought back or kind of revived if you will Minecraft story mode as of now remains delisted from storefronts with the only way of playing the games being either buying a very expensive physical copy or well you know doing the unthinkable this makes the first two games very inaccessible For the average consumer because I’m gonna be completely honest unless if you are generally a fan of Minecraft story mode or Minecraft in general I don’t think you’ll spend your time researching the best way to play the games so re-listing the games on storefronts would definitely be a necessity if they Want to sell a potential third game or else they would only be catering to the existing fans of the games rather than drawing in new fans and consumers which is generally just bad from a business standpoint at the end of the day in my eyes the only possible scenario where They don’t re-list the first two games is if they do a full reboot of the series which just isn’t very likely if you ask me but it would make sense but there’s another issue with relisting the games and pushing a potential third game that being that Telltale does not own The rights to Minecraft story mode is a collaboration between Mojang and Telltale which means that the project couldn’t have been possible with only one of the developers Now telltale’s new parent company lcg entertainment at the time of recording this video do not own the rights to Minecraft story mode Therefore making it impossible for a new game to happen and you may be thinking that they could just buy the Minecraft license from Microsoft and or Mojang now again I’m not experienced in the field of Licensing or ownership of ips or whatever you want to call it so I may be Talking complete nonsense here but I’m pretty sure that Telltale as of now is not yet financially stable enough to buy the rice to an IP as big as Minecraft Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time and a worldwide phenomenon just handing the rice over to make a Spin-off of the game wouldn’t be very smart if you ask me but considering that Minecraft spin-offs nowadays such as Minecraft dungeons in the upcoming Minecraft Legends are being led by outside developers it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility that tailso can make another game how ever you may Be thinking to yourself what Telltale already has the experience of making Minecraft spin-offs I mean they’ve already made two then yeah that’s entirely true but this sort of leads into my next point the Minecraft story mode games were actually not really received that well from critics the review scores and general reception of The games among the general audience may have been a contributing factor of why Telltale can’t make season three and it’s simply because they’re just not good at it now allow me to throw my hand to the ring for a quick second I think the games are decent after playing Through them again I realize that they aren’t as good as I once remembered but they aren’t necessarily bad by any means I just don’t think the duo was well enough received to get a third installment in the series I understand that fans of the games absolutely love The series and would be very happy to see a third entry but due to the mediocre reviews from critics in the general audience it’s going to take a lot to get Microsoft to give the green light to make it now that’s enough discussing if the game will actually Happen let’s discuss what they could add in a potential season 3. number of episodes the number of episodes in each of the already existing Seasons varies so what do I think think the episode count will be in season three well let’s take a look at season one real quick Season one has eight episodes in total however the entirety of the Season could easily be split into two seasons with four episodes each if they want to go that route I say this because the first four episodes follow the Wither storm flower Jesse and the Gang need to defeat The Wither storm the second half follows the plot of Jesse and crew trying to find their way home after getting lost in a network of portals so season one is really split into two parts if you get what I’m saying season two on the other hand consists of five episodes that all Follow the same plot however season 2 somewhat mixes the elements of both parts of season 1 together the last four episodes of season one all had their own little mini adventures and settings season 2 is pretty much the exact same way but it still follows the overall plot throughout so what about season Three I think it would be safe to go with five episodes again for the reason I mentioned with season two I think the structure of the episodes and plot of the second season just kind of worked better than season one of course the structure of season one got the job done But it was kind of all over the place like why do they make episodes five through eight separate but they made episode 5 included with the season pass like I I don’t get it but it is what it is I just think that season three should go with the same five episode format That season two went with that’s all the actual story now don’t get me wrong the stories in both previous seasons were passable but they definitely needed somewhere I already mentioned how the story of season one was weird because it had two different plots but the actual plots themselves were just kind of Boring after a while and yeah I know making a story out of Minecraft is a daunting task but hey they made it this far but my main issue with the stories in the first two games is the writing the writing definitely got the job done At the end of the day but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t bad I’m not really going to get into what I really didn’t like about the stories because I already talked about all of that in my Minecraft story mode video which by the way I’m just saying you should probably watch it If you haven’t yet I just think that if they chose to make a season 3 then the writing and story would have to be way more fleshed out than it was in seasons one and two release date now let’s discuss potential release timing for the game in previous Seasons episodes were Released every month until the full game was eventually fully available for everyone to play and I think season 3 would most likely go a similar route now let’s just say for example people that episode run releases sometime in mid 2023 let’s just say July for example and That means that episode 2 will probably drop sometime in August episode 3 in September and so on until the game is fully released in November now I’m not really saying that I’m a huge fan of releasing the episodes like this because a month is a considerably long time However given that this is how Telltale has done things in the past then it wouldn’t be out of the blue for them to do it again for the third entry in the series but to wrap everything up do I believe that season 3 will ever happen I mean maybe well I believe that Microsoft and Telltale could make it work given the receptions of the previous games I just don’t see it happening anytime soon it seems that the Minecraft brand is exploring new genres of gaming in their spin-offs such as Minecraft dungeons and legends but I just don’t think it’s very likely that They would revisit a formula that just didn’t really work out for them so that’s going to go ahead and end off today’s video let me know what you guys think about a potential Minecraft story mode season 3 in the comment section down below and what would you want to See in it but that’s all from me guys so thank you all so much for watching and I’ll see you all later goodbye thank you Video Information
