Mojang released a new Eula for Minecraft and people aren’t happy there’s a lot of people reporting on and talking about the changes and I wanted to both support and debunk their points there’s a lot of misinformation regarding this issue and a lot of uneducated people that are Following them blindly so I’m going to break down the things that you need to know and a lot of the misinformation is going to be debunked and I’m going to be doing it while playing a cool parkour map so you aren’t bored no Subway Surfers though don’t push your luck Let’s delve into what is so apparently bad about this Eula update you can find the usage guidelines right here but it basically details all the usage guidelines for playing Minecraft let’s start though with the essential guidelines these are going to be important for later especially these ones they seem pretty harmless at first Don’t do anything that makes people think you’re Mojang don’t do anything that encourages harm like gambling crime Etc and also do not commercially exploit Minecraft again these all seem like very harmless things but there’s a lot of details that they’re leaving out it’s always good to read between the lines With things like this because they could always use their power for bad in the future so let’s scroll down and see what they actually mean by the assist the naming guidelines is the main topic of contention for a lot of people based on this change it’s only this secondary Name that we’re allowed to have Minecraft in the examples shown here aren’t that great for video creators which is the main reason a lot of people are worried but I think we need to use critical thinking here and look deeper 50 of all Minecraft videos right now or More are probably breaking the rules that they’ve established most of the time we don’t have secondary titles and we include the word Minecraft in them which if Mojang actually went through with this for video creators would basically destroy Minecraft YouTube as a whole so it brings in the question if we Should even be applying this to Minecraft content I don’t see a world in which they’d affect the vehicle of which is giving them the most amount of marketing thinking rationally about this is this even different from what their policies were before and that’s the problem with this honestly I’m really Unhappy with the fact that it’s so vague they’re not really telling you exactly who and what these rules apply to so when you’re looking at this from the scope of a YouTube Creator you’re going to see that a lot of this could effectively screw you over fortunately Though there are a few things that they are very clear about and these things affect servers we the end user are responsible for the product or service like events servers books and handcrafted items and now Mojang asks that we include a disclaimer that we are not an official Minecraft product not Approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft on pretty much anything you do this is pretty big just like the previous rule this looks like a widespread rule that will affect everyone content creators regular players Etc it’s very hard to discern who this applies to and from a little Deduction we can assume that it applies to everyone meaning that every single person is going to have to say not an official Minecraft product service event Etc every single time but again doesn’t it just sound kind of crazy one of the main arguments that they’ve been making About Minecraft’s new Eula is that it’s basically 1984 overreaching taking control of players and this man’s tweet seems to be causing major contention this bullet list contains more things that are being implied than things that were actually mentioned in the EULA don’t go looking for this tweet don’t Send hate to them I think they’re just trying to get ad Revenue besides you’re going to see the entirety of this misconception in the video just don’t be a dick the first point I had issue with was any server piece of online content such as video or other may be taken down Due to any reason whatsoever for one Moshe never said that video creators would be affected by this second they could already do that this has been true for a while and copyright law dmca cease and desists are heavily biased towards the copyright holder look at Nintendo for example their lawyers have been Referred to as Snakes by more than one person and it seems like they may be wanting to take the same route or at least Microsoft wants to Mojang may not have any sayings whatsoever two using Minecraft and the title of a significant part of a creative work such as a YouTube video can get it entirely taken down this feels tied into the first point however it deals more with the naming rules that they’ve implied although this is the Euless phrasing the fact that this encompasses over half of all Minecraft content on YouTube leads me to believe that Mojang specifically Wanting to Target non-youtube projects media that claims to be affiliated with Minecraft when it isn’t if they go after content creators then that’s their loss in the long run and this one fictional story writers are not allowed to include Minecraft brands or assets fonts or Images I may be out of touch but this makes a lot of sense there’s a lot of crap books on Amazon but people have been actively mad at they’ve been pretending to be associated with Minecraft giving guides for Redstone stories for children that aren’t associated with Mojang in the slightest I don’t think these actually have any value in Market I totally understand this rule they also say that servers of player cues are banned in-person Minecraft events are no longer able to make any money Etc a lot of these claims are speculative interpretations of the new policy and not what’s explicitly said in The EULA in fact not a lot is really said in the EULA that’s clear this isn’t a doomsday scenario for Minecraft there’s still a ways to go before this becomes bad but we need to get Mojang and hold them accountable for what they’re saying and that’s just it before We go full pitchforks we need to actually talk to them these updates have been pushed without any sort of Twitter post about it at all we freaked out about the Better Together update we freaked out about chat reporting and now we’re freaking out about this a lot of The reasons are substantiated but we still need to be cautious patient and most of all just rational and people are flat out lying the lie you can no longer accept sponsorships on Minecraft YouTube videos at all unless they’re related to Minecraft when the rule clearly states you can’t put Minecraft Gameplay over an Ad read the only situation where this becomes a problem for creators is when they’re like Mr Beast where they include sponsorships over gameplay in his case he does it in real life but in a lot of creators case they do that integrated into their Minecraft videos and I totally understand why they wouldn’t Want that they wouldn’t want Minecraft to be associated with a variety of brands that people are getting sponsored by that makes a lot of sense all you need to do is make your sponsor read completely separate from your gameplay I don’t see Mojang being a bad guy and preventing smaller creators from getting Non-minecraft-related sponsors you just need to not include your gameplay we’re in such an early phase of this that we’re getting so much sensationalism and not a lot of facts so calm down take a deep breath and everything will be okay don’t let this stop you from achieving Your dream of Minecraft content it’s a game of chicken if Mojang ends up doing the worst then it’ll affect them as badly if not more badly then it affects you Mojang devs are people they have nothing to do with this don’t go bullying them with that I don’t really Know if I have anything else to say Video Information

Minecraft has released new usage guidelines that add new limitations and changes to what you can do with the game. It controls servers, content creators, artists, authors, etc. But is it as bad as people are saying it is? Or are people sowing mistrust in the community?
