Hello if you’re watching this it means that you’re interested in downloading all of your builds from whatever season we’re currently on at the time of recording this we’re on 1.18.2 and we’re looking forward to upgrading to 1.19 soon new season research it’s pretty exciting but for a lot of people it means anxiety Around losing their builds i’m happy to tell you that you don’t have to do that so this is a short guide on how to use mirko kroon’s minecraft world downloader we’re doing this on windows if you want to follow along on another operating system the process isn’t all that different You’ll just run the dot jar instead of the exe but this video assumes that you’re going to be on windows because a large majority of our player base is on windows so to get started there’s two links right here in the post this post is probably a bit longer by the time you’re Reading this but the one we’re interested in first is java 17. if you scroll down you’ll see all sorts of different versions if you’re not sure what operating system you’re on look for like a windows logo at the bottom left if you see that it most likely most likely means you want The windows x64 installer if you’re not on windows there’s a good chance you know what operating system you’re on so just download the job version for that os and let it turn for a minute then we’re going to run this we’re just going to click next through all of these Let it do its thing for a minute and then we’re just going to click close we’re not interested in any of the next steps okay once you’re done with that you can close that tab you don’t need it anymore the second thing you need to do is install merco croons minecraft world Downloader if you’re on windows you’re most likely interested in the exe if you’re on linux or mac os you’ll want to run the jar file so once we’ve downloaded this we run it it’ll tell us it doesn’t have a valid digital signature but we’re absolutely fine with that we just click run anyways All right now that this is open the next step is for us to click the authentication tab we want to open the minecraft launcher if you’re using an alternative launcher you may be interested in using the stock launcher for this because this program grabs login credentials from the stock Launcher it doesn’t necessarily do that automatically for other launchers and it is still compatible with them but there’s an extra layer of work that won’t be covered in this tutorial if you’re interested in that it’s described inside the github repository and i trust that you can read And if you can’t read just use the stock launcher once you’ve done that just go ahead and click play and wait for minecraft to launch okay so inside of our world downloader settings we’re interested in putting in the server address in this case it is played at You can leave port for both of these on default which is two five five six five then you click start and we’re ready to begin next step is go to the multiplayer tab and then we’re gonna click direct connection we’re interested in connecting to localhost colon25565 then you click join server all right So once you’ve done that the details for this are kind of cool but a little uninteresting but the important thing is as you walk around it will download the world around you you can see on the little window to the right here a picture of the world around me And you can see it kind of like a little mini map as we walk around so as we go around it will download the world whenever it turns uh whenever that little red tint goes away it means that part of the world is downloaded successfully and is up to Date with the world around you and you don’t have to do anything special at this point beyond teleport to your different builds and let them be downloaded so let’s say that we are interested in going to we’re going to go download spawn because that seems interesting to us Once we get here it starts off with this red tint and it slowly fills in the area around us we just give it a moment for that red tint to go away and again you can move around while this happens and once that red tint goes away we know We’ve got this whole area downloaded on our computer so the last step once you’re done with that is you can just disconnect and you can close this program now i remember what folder it was in whenever you downloaded it so in this case for me it’s in the Downloads folder it will have created two other folders here world and cache this world folder is the one that we’re interested in what we want to do is copy this go to this url bar here and type in percent app data percent press enter there’s a folder here labeled.minecraft Inside of that we have a saves folder i currently have a world folder in here from before but i’m just going to get rid of that what we want to do now is paste the world folder that we just copied from our downloads and now if we go to our single player Worlds you’ll see one labeled world if we click into that tell it we know what we’re doing and we just wait for it to load you’ll see that we’re standing in a copy of spawn so this is how you can use the world downloader to get a copy of all your Stuff from this build you’ll notice he gets signs and it managed to get charlie brown if you right-click chests it should copy the contents from them as well but you do have to go around right-clicking each chest that you want to copy same thing applies to furnaces shelters etc etc Video Information
