Hello everyone and welcome to another minecraft update video it’s snapshot21w39a and we have some new advancements feature changes technical features and you’re going to be able to open up your old worlds in this snapshot the previous ones were locked from doing this remember now the risk here is that You’re going to see chunk borders like we have around us you can see that these terrain right here were generated in different versions of the game so please keep that in mind if you are planning to update a world and of course make a backup the game has for some time Got backup features built into it so you got no excuses before you update make yourself a backup so now that updating from old worlds in this snapshot is possible in future ones we’re gonna see a blending feature here at the border between different terrains generated in different versions where these features Will be smoothed out and blended together so that you won’t notice these kinds of transitions and you can see that down here at the bottom of the world we also have a border i believe the plan is to introduce a feature that’s going to generate new caves under The old chunks and then remove the bedrock and probably replace them with stone so players can dig down to the bottom of the world and find new caves and terrain to explore in their old minecraft worlds so although you can go ahead and update now that is a pretty Good reason to wait if you ask me also we have a floating village over here wow i’ve never seen something like this before okay yeah this is the kind of thing that might end up getting removed you can see a village trying to generate in the ocean and therefore it’s kind of Created its own terrain floating above it this is this is really bizarre especially this lonely lamppost all on an island of its own so let’s not get too distracted and move on to the four advancements that have been added this first one requires the meadows biome and I teleported around and most of the ones in this seed were kind of unimpressive like this but anyway the deal is you gotta play a record in a jukebox in one of these meadows and it’s blocks which i think is the best record in the game but there you go Advancement made sound of music come on now doesn’t that just sound wonderful i love it i love this record now this next advancement requires you to get a strider into the overworld and then you’re going to need to ride this strider and you have to ride it a distance of 50 blocks Now the catch here is that it’s got to be 50 blocks away from where you started so if i go around in circles here it’s not actually going to activate the advancement as we don’t have enough distance to travel so just to demonstrate this i’m doing some laps Around and i’m yet to get this advancement so now with the help of commands i’ve gone ahead and made my own corridor it’s 70 blocks long and that means that we should get the advancement in just a moment and there it is feels like home And i feel like i should point out that i spent some time flying around to find a big open pot of lava like this and they don’t appear to really extend as long as 50 blocks if you are gonna do this in the overworld you might just Need to construct a tunnel like this to get the advancement this next advancement is called star trader and it’s for trading with a villager at the build height limit which is this block right here so i’m kind of wondering if it needs to actually be above that limit or not because the Entity can go above it so let’s do a trade at this level and that was just what a deal okay at the next level uh-huh we didn’t get it there and this one is now sort of technically slightly above the world limit so we might get it okay then it’s this one here And there you go star trader so it literally has to be on a block at the very top of the world and i gotta say this is just gonna be one of those really tedious pointless grindy ones where you’ve got to build like a a soul Sand elevator with water all the way to the top just to do a trade and then you’ll probably just take the guy back down so now it’s time for our fourth and final advancement name caves and cliffs which is to fall from the top to the Bottom of the world so if we look at our command in chat here we are simply replacing this block all the way down to the very bottom of the world and now i’m going to drop down and you’re going to join me on this adventure all the way to The bottom i’m gonna guess there’s probably lava or water in the way no we got lucky and there you go that’s how you get the caves and cliffs advancement and it just occurred to me that you’ll probably want some water at the very bottom and there you go it’s possible with Water there to break your fall damage and just in case you are curious one of these appears in the nether tab and the other three are all in the adventure tab and now before we move on to the feature changes i just want to say if you’re not Subscribed and enjoying this video and you want to get future snapshot of minecraft update videos then of course be sure to subscribe anyway let’s get on with it now then below my feet is buried treasure and i know this because i used a command to find it there it is inside Of here you can now find water breathing potions and this one happened to have one and if i’ve correctly understood the loot table here you should have a 100 chance meaning you’re always going to get that potion in the chest now i think this is a cool idea because it’s ocean Adventuring related but i can’t help the film maybe the better place to put it is inside the chests of the ocean ruins structures since you’re actually underwater when you’re down here adventuring and trying to find that loot and this potion is going to help us transition wonderfully into the next Feature change which is related to the status effect you can see in the top right of the screen well when you open up your inventory it’s now been moved over to the right hand side and this is related to the recipe book over here so if you’re doing some crafting you can See it’s no longer on the screen however when you open your inventory like this it’ll appear on the right hand side and yeah the icons also change dynamically so you can see the full details and then you get this reduced icon size and when you have a lot of These they’re going to overlap in the inventory as you can see there it still looks a little messy like this but it’s not too bad and i was kind of expecting to see them when you’re in the crafting bench i think you should be able to see them When you’re in this screen too oh and these also have names so this layout is known as classic and this one right here is known as compact so i’m going to point it out even though you’ve already seen it when you hover over it gives you the details that you’d see in the Classic view now the next feature change is related to the meadows biome and i’ve actually visited about six or seven of these in this world and this is the first time that i found a bee’s nest at the lone tree that is supposed to generate in this biome the feature Change here is that it’s always supposed to generate so don’t know if that’s one of those things they thought they added but maybe they didn’t but supposedly you’ll always get a bee’s nest here now does the game look a little bit different all of a sudden things are a Bit darker maybe you’d even call it moody well that’s because the brightness here is set to moody and i think myself and probably just about everyone else just goes and set this all the way to the fullest when they start up a new minecraft instance but now the default Is actually going to be set to the middle which is 50 and you can see it changes the name to default as well so now the game will look like this when you first open it up and you can make it look a little darker or a little lighter Depending on what you want now we have two more feature changes both related to the drip stone caves and mob spawning as well and i just so happen to have found an absolutely fantastic location here that looks amazing it’s really large as well and it has a couple of aquifers at Certain points and i believe this is one of these aquifers right here it’s like a body of water filling up the cave and it intersects with the drip stone cave so where you have these two conditions drowns will now be able to spawn here and so sometimes you might find one of Those intersecting an open cave like this and if you’re exploring you might see the drowned coming out of the body of water and making their way over to you and the other change is that zombies regular zombies won’t spawn in the drip stone cave’s biome so you’re more likely To find drowned here than you are regular zombies now let’s move on to the technical changes and first of all triggers related to the advancements that are added so these will be able to detect players falling where they start from and how far they travel when falling and very similar riding an Entity in lava so it’ll be able to determine a start position and how far you’ve traveled from that then there’s one for loot tables that allows you to set a potion tag on any item going deeper into the technical changes the chunk format of the game has been Updated if you need these technical details this article is listed down below and the resource pack format has been updated to number eight that’s because of a change here in the inventory texture which relates to those status effect changes i showed you earlier now when it comes to bug fixes There really wasn’t anything worth mentioning other than sugarcane and bamboo erroneously generating underground in caves so that is something you’re no longer going to see that pretty much brings us to the end of the snapshot so if you’ve enjoyed it please do leave a like and if you missed yesterday’s episode of hermitcraft There’ll probably be a card on the screen for you to go check that out if you’re looking for something to watch but that’s it from me so thanks for watching and i’ll see you soon bye Video Information
