xSplayd – How to Make a MODDED Minecraft Server WITH PLUGINS! (Sponge 1.12.2)

Get started with today’s tutorial so basically I’m going to be teaching you guys how to make a mod it’s server with plugins I found a new program or a new API that actually allows you to make servers that are modded and you can also install plugins with it so I was like

Why not make a video on this so let’s go start with the tutorial so the first thing you want to do is go ahead and go to this Java document which if you are following me on this channel you’re pretty probably familiar with this but once you’re here you should

Want to install the Java Runtime environment and jar fix just go and download those and install them and they should be good to go after that and next you want to go to the sponge forge link which should will be down below in description and basically we’re gonna go

Ahead and download this so basically sponge is what is gonna make us have a server that will be modded so you can sell mod along with plugins so this is the API that will allow us to do that it’s really cool on now do keep in mind

It does have plugins but it’s not a lot as say spigot or bucket that is that but yeah so basically once you’re here you should wanna click on stable and download the latest stable version which in this case is one point ten point two now there is a Lay’s version which is

One point twelve point two and that’s experimental so if you want to install that I would actually not recommend doing one point twelve point two because I did it and there was some and some unsupported plugins and mods issues with the version so it is currently in stable

So I would actually just recommend the stable version with just one point ten point two so basically shouldn’t click on download this will download the sponge file so we should go ahead and go to our text over here I’m gonna hit save and after that it will Mew link telling

So download a specified specific version of Forge which happens to be two four seven seven and you just simply click on that Forge link right there and it will take you to the forge website once you here you want to click on the windows installer or the installer on both of in

Its find one limit is a jar file so this is the jar file and this is dot see you’re the executable file which I’m gonna go with so just gonna click that it should take you to a at focus that I believe just wait five seconds and you

Should be able to skip this ad like so and the download should start for that forge 12 like so I’m gonna save that to the next up again like so and yeah so now we got both of the files that we need so far so we’re gonna go actually

Go to it X up and so here they are right here right click and make a new folder called a spunge server just like that and then what we’re gonna do is go ahead and double click on the forge exe file or the jar file whichever you’ve

Downloaded and if it doesn’t open up again install this job of things I mentioned in the beginning of the video and it should be good and once it opens up it should be this dollar here you want to uncheck mercurius and then what you want to do is check install server

So not client but server and then what you want to do is click on the three ellipses right here and change the directory to the sponge server folder with that we just made like so alright so after we made that you’re gonna hey okay and this will download all the

Libraries and files for a forge server to that folder so I’m gonna go ahead and let it do that alright so the libraries have been downloaded to that server folder so they’re gonna hit OK and next what we’re gonna do is get the sponge forge file and drag it into the sponge

So we’re folder like so let’s go ahead and open that up again and once you’ve opened up you should see these three or four files and what you want to do from here is you want to double click on the Forge Universal jar file so go ahead and

Double click on that and this should create more folders for you in the server and more files it’s like so and there we go that should be the extra folders that it makes from that and once that is done what you want to do is double click and

Open up EULA text folder I mean the yellow text file and no pet and change the true to false I’m gonna go ahead and just save that like that so change it from false to true and then what you want to do is click on the forge

Universal jar don’t double click on any but I right click on it rename it to just Forge just like that and then what you want to do next you want to get the sponge Forge – whatever version file that we just got from an x-up you want to move that into

Our mods folder now our mods folder is a folder where you want to store all of your plugins and mods so just keep that in mind so next what you want to do is right-click on your desktop got a new folder and making you folder called mod

Pack for players and I’ll get into this later tell you what we’re going to be using that for but now let’s go ahead and download some mods and plugins to our server so so I’ll provide the sponge plugin page dumbull description but once you’re here is there’s a bunch of plugins that you

Can install onto your server now there isn’t again as much there isn’t as much as a bucket put bucket slash spigot plugins but there is quite a bit and they’re updating this every day so that is what it is and there’s all some plugins that are similar to

Spigot like permissions and all that so um so I’m just gonna find a simple plug-in and download that let’s go with Holograms I just saw this somewhere and once you’ve come to the plug-in page it’s very important to look at everything they provide they’ll either have like all the permission nodes all

The commands on how to activate and all that stuff so so basically you want to find a download link and I guess they have that link we’re here probably yep there we go now I’m just gonna go ahead and download that alright so let’s go

Ahead and it should be a jar file so you want to say that to our mods folder in our server folder so go and open up the mods folder go and save your plugin just like that and actually want to go back and there is a command I shouldn’t open

That up for reference so I know how to activate the plug-in and now let’s get a mod so for this tutorial first I’m just going to download pixelmon 1.10 why to make sure whatever mod you’re downloading is Forge compatible and is the same version as your server so we’re

Gonna go ahead and download pixelmon just for this tutorial sake and I’m gonna save that the mod file to a mods folder like everything else and I’m just gonna let that download but that’s pretty much it we got our plugins and we got our mods right so those mods have been downloaded

Now what you want to do make sure you still have that Forge executable or dark jar file still available so make sure you didn’t delete that cause we’re gonna go ahead and double click and open that up again and this time let’s go and uncheck Mercurius and but this time

We’re gonna install it as a client so make sure it’s checked uninstall client and make sure that it’s defaulted to your dot minecraft folder so make sure of those and we’re gonna hit OK and this time it’ll actually install the client for you because we’re gonna be needing

To use this profile to play our server we’re hey ok and then what we’re gonna do next is open up the mod pack for a player so I’m just gonna go ahead and throw that Forge fault in there and again I’m gonna tell you guys later what

This for next we’re gonna go ahead and open up sponge server folder our server folder and go into the mods folder and find any mod that you have installed in this folder right click it copy it and go to your mod pack we’re a player’s folder and paste that in like so and

Except for the sponge forge you don’t have to copy and paste that in and never copy any of the plugins to the floor just the mods and so yeah so we have our mods and plugins in here alright we’re gonna do next is open up notepad just

Like that and you’re gonna go ahead and copy and paste this code which I will include down below inscription and here you can actually all keep more RAM to your server if you want include a chart on the screen right now to show you guys what number to change that so you can

All okay more RAM I’m sure gonna change that to 3 gigs around there should be 30 72 and that is up to you guys the more RAM you have in your computer the more you can all Kate the faster your server run next sector etc so we’re gonna go ahead and go to

File and click on save as and then once this pops up you want to go to the sponge server folder like so and we’re going to change the save as type to all files and we’re going to name this start with start dat so we’re creating a batch

File here we’re gonna hit save and I should save that to your server folder as you can see right there now we’re gonna finally go ahead and give our server a run for the first time so just double click on the batch file the start thought bat that is how you’re going to

Start your server pretty much every time now this the first time you launch it it will actually create more files which will need so go ahead and let it do that right as you can see it is done what you want to do next after you see that it’s

Done you just want to open up any kind of folder so it does not matter which just open up a random folder go to the top of the bar here and type in % app that a percent just like that and it should take you to your roaming folder

You just want to go into your minecraft folder and once you have went into da minecraft folder now if this is your first time installing forge you will not have a mods folder so just right-click go to new click on folder and name it name the folder mods all lowercase just

Like that and you want to go into that mods folder and what do you want to do now is go back to your sponge server folder right and then you want to go into your mods folder and find all the mods that you have installed in this

Folder or we have placed on this folder so I just have pixelmon so just right click that and copy that but if you have multiple mods just select all those mods and paste them into the Dom minecraft mods folder now only paste mods mod files from here to here do not paste the

Plugins like hologram so that’s a plug-in we don’t we do not want to copy and paste that into our mod folder so don’t do that and do not copy the sponge forge file and paste that in here done do that just only the mod files and all

That all the mods I have is just pixelmon so we’re good with that so after you have done that I can just close out of beat down minecraft mods folder and now what you want to do is just simply go ahead and launch your minecraft Launcher okay so my launcher

Is now up and just want to click on the up arrow and make sure that you see a forge profile if you have installed forge correctly like the client version of it you should see this profile just like that what we’re gonna do though is go to launch options click on invent settings

I’m gonna hit OK and I’m gonna choose click on the forge profile so just click on that and then what you want to do is just rename this to sponge server so that you know yet to use this profile to play on your sponge server and I’m sure

This is optional but I’m just gonna all came more ramp to my launcher so my server already has three gigs of RAM and I’m just gonna holla Kate for gigs around to this client and we’re gonna hit save but this part is optional you don’t actually have to do that but

I’m actually highly recommend you doing that if you have a bunch of mods installed or Ram having mom like pixelmon but anyway is trying to go to this tab and what we’re gonna do is click on the up arrow and choose our sponge Server profiler and go ahead and

Load into that alright we have loaded into the forge minecraft Launcher and that what we’re gonna do now is go into multiplayer and we’re gonna go ahead and add server you can name this whatever you want modded on a plug-in server the long name but in server address since we

Have not actually setup any networking thing we’re just gonna type in localhost so you can just test out the server for now we’re gonna have done and this should automatically connect to it as you can see and basically we’re just going to go ahead and join the server and there you go guys

Pixelmon just loaded this is the intro screen but oh you’re lagging a little bit here but yeah so as you can see maybe here it says I joined in your console and once it says that once this is your username join the game what you

Want to do is type in Opie space your minecraft username this will op you on the server so you can run all the commands as you like and so let’s go ahead and choose our starter pokemon and there we go we’re now in the game and

Yeah so now we know that pixelmon the mod is working but it’s the plug-in working let’s test that out so I believe holograms is slash Holograms create and then type in your text veneers oh there we go our what is our plugin is now working with a mod in a server so

That is that so that’s a lot of stuff to do but it’s also trial and error there’s gonna be some mods and plugins are not compatible with each other and you just got a kind of troubleshoot that by yourself but yeah so that is about it we

Got everything set up now of course we have not actually port forwarded it port forward the server and network disk so your friends can’t join yet and that is why actually I made the mod pack where players folder but we’re not going to actually go over that in this video but
