Hey everyone this is tim from your 6th game and today in this video i’m going to go ahead and show you how to easily and simply make a map wall in minecraft so let’s go ahead and jump to the video right now So i’m on the playstation 5 edition of minecraft and i made a simple 9×9 map wall that you can easily replicate in about 10 to 15 minutes so how would we go ahead and make one of these by ourselves well it’s very easy to do i’m gonna go ahead and find a new Location to make a map wall so let’s go over to my stable i’ll make one there okay so i’m over by my stable in the village i’ve been working on so let’s make a map wall first we need a material to make a wall so for this i’m just going to use some Wood planks so let’s choose birch so let’s take the birch planks and then let’s search for something called an item frame so let’s type that in press r1 and here is an item frame right here so let’s put this on my bar as well so put these planks down three across And then three up let’s take the item frame and put the item frames on the wall now so just like this so now we have our wall set up now let’s go ahead and get our map so go back to our inventory and search for map all right press r1 And there’s two different maps in creative mode you have the empty locator map this will display your location on it it’ll give you like a guide point of where your character is in what direction they’re facing so i’m going to use locator map just because it’s easier An empty map won’t show you that location of where your guy is so let’s take this and put it on my hot bar and get 64 of them and then let’s clear out the item frames and the wood planks and put my empty locator map Right in the middle here so my first map piece i’m going to put on my board here is going to be where the map board is so look away from the wall and press l2 and it will generate a map if you have the empty map locator selected so here’s the Map i just created right here so you can see my character position in the upper right so i’m going to put the first map right in the middle press l2 on it and you can see where your character is right there on the map now you can rotate this if you unselect The map and then press l2 and you keep rotating it so i like that position right there so now the objective is to go up one map piece down one map piece left one map piece and right so let’s go ahead and do that right now So i can see where my character is let’s go up one map piece then go over to my empty locator map press l2 and it just generated this map so let’s go back over to my board now and i can place this on the board so here’s the middle map let’s put this One above it now let’s do the same thing with the next map peeps let’s go two down here so let’s go down over here so i’m going to go back to my original map and go off this map piece and then go to my empty locator map And press l2 so i’m now off this map from the bottom i’m going to go to my empty map locator press l2 go to it i just generated a new map piece so let’s go back to my board now you can speed up this process by just Going in order from you know left to right and up and down but this is probably the easiest way just to remember where to place the map piece so this one was directly below it so i’m in the middle right here now i have to do the sides and up and Down so this is my map right here so i have to go off this map piece over here to the right i can generate a new map piece now i can go to this one and go up and down so let’s go off this one to the north of it Generate a new map piece go back to here and go below it now so it just is a little bit more easier to organize the map doing this now when you get into a larger like something that’s like 16 blocks or like 20 blocks plus it can get really Difficult to remember where you are so it’s best to keep everything in order all right so i’m off map 34 now let’s generate a new map boom i have this one generated so i did the entire right side let’s go back to my board and place these down So my board is slowly coming together 34 will go here 35 will be here and 36 will be here so this is what my board looks like now now let’s do the entire left side of the map so i only need my middle map right here so i’m going to keep map 31 And then i’m going to get rid of 32 and beyond so let’s go to my hot bar now get rid of these map so let’s go to map 31 find my position and i’m going to go to the far left of this village and go off this map and also i’m going To make a sign showing where the north direction is so i’m now off this map let’s go to my locator map generate a new map go up one map piece so i’m off this map now generate this one i’m off this one so let’s go to the south of this I’ll be on this map now so with an empty map this would be very difficult to know where you are you kind of just have to guess so these locator maps are far easier so i’m now off this one so generate it boom okay so here’s my Map wall the first one i generated was 37 put it right there then i went north with map 38 then i went south with map 39 which is just the ocean so this is my completed map wall let’s get some torches around it all right so i have some torches there Another thing i want to do is make a sign that says north so my map wall is literally facing north right now so i could put maybe like west and east in all these other directions so let’s get some signs now but let’s take some sites So let’s put these down so this one will be west or sorry two and done this direction is south and this way is east so i kind of know what direction i’m facing so the map wall you can see by this character is facing south North will be the top so you can see where you’re looking here so i’m facing with the arrow to the west to the south now into the east and then to the north so that is how you create a map wall in minecraft if this video did indeed help you guys Out go ahead and leave it a big Do you want to know how to make your first 3 x 3 map wall that you can replicate to larger and bigger map walls!? The basics of making a map wall in minecraft is by creating a wall. Then placing an item frame on the wall. The material for the wall, doesn’t matter. Now place the item frames on the wall and cover all the blocks. Then place 9 empty map locators into your inventory and on your hotbar. Then generate a map, place the first map in the center piece on the map wall. Then go up one map piece and then down one map piece from the original map. Replicate this for the left and right sides of the map wall. You can easily do this on the PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch, Pocket Edition.
